bex I felt like that last sunday, so I was bang on 8 weeks, would be around that time for you? Wonder if its hormone surge or something?

I don't think I do what to find out the sex but DH wont discuss until after 12 week scan.

It would be interesting to see what people think they are having against what they do actually have and see who got it right. Smile

BexBoo12 · 02/02/2014 11:10

I'm 9 weeks tomorrow whiteblossom, it was terrible, I couldn't eat which made me worse!! Today I've woken up though feeling great, had huge bowl of coco pops (my craving this week now lol) and I'm feeling fab - so much so I've told DH to get his gym gear out and we will go in a bit!! Gentle exercise though. Perhaps it is a surge then? Very weird and unpleasant, whatever it was.

Whiteblossom, forgive me if I've got names confused, but was it you that was a bit upset about your DH's reaction to baby news? If it was, hoes things now? Hope it's better for you honey. If it wasn't you, huge apologies Blush

Yes, I'm not sure if I want to find out, but if we do, id still quite like to keep it secret from everyone else, however I'm not sure DH would be able to do that!! He can't hold his own water!!!

topmammy · 02/02/2014 11:13

Can't remember if I've dreamt of having a boy or girl but my dreams are sure still weird and complicated lol. I have a feeling in having a boy for some reason. Of course it's 50/50 but if I'm right then obviously I have a psychic connection with my baby Wink hehe. Me and DH both definitely want to find out the sex! In fact I want to know now!!

Is there any possibility of finding out at the 12 week scan at all? Or is it an absolute impossibility?

Poor you/ good news Bex about your sick feeling yesterday! I felt crappy last night too.

BexBoo12 · 02/02/2014 11:16

Topmammy, there is a way to find out sex at 12 week scan, but the sonigrapher won't do it. It was on here I was reading about someone knowing somebody that can do it - but I have no clue where I read it, who wrote it or how they can tell. Let me have a read back on the threads I'm watching...

topmammy · 02/02/2014 11:21

Oo thanks Bex, shall have a read of that x

whiteblossom · 02/02/2014 11:35

bex Im 9 weeks today so I assume we both had a surge of hormones at 8 weeks. It was really bad!

Yes it was me that was concerned about my dh. He has done a complete U-turn. Dh has been a complete star, helping with ds, around the house, dog walking, popping to shops for my cravings Grin cooking, cleaning!! Dh insisted on coming to first mw apt and has said he wants to attend all of them. He's not big on baby talk as he's waiting for the 12 week scan but has made comments about changing our cars and joking about the size of me come the summer! He seams very happy actually. I think it was a shock initially, as I got pregnant within 4 days of him agreeing!!

BexBoo12 · 02/02/2014 11:39

4 days??!!! Wowser, yes you're probably right then, just the shock lol. So glad things are better for you. My DH keeps making comments about our dog getting jealous (we have a King Charles who is basically our world - or at least has been!) but must admit he's not big on baby talk. He unfortunately couldn't come to scan on Wednesday as work wouldn't let him off but he is definitely coming to 12 week one - he says he can get more excited after 12 week scan

whiteblossom · 02/02/2014 11:47

Is the scan on Wed the private one you mentioned? I must admit Im a little concerned about our dog. My friend came over with her three kids, the youngest was three months old- the dog had a good sniff and just started barking at the baby, she was uncertain and possibly a bit spooked. not sure but it didn't fill me confidence, I had to put the dog in the kitchen.

BexBoo12 · 02/02/2014 11:56

The scan I had on Wednesday just gone was a dating scan that my midwife insisted on- I knew I was only 8 and half weeks at the time - I tracked ov with opks etc, however, I came off the pill in October and haven't had a period so I could have potentially been further. 12 week scan is on 26 feb - seems sooo long away!!

Yes my dog is a bit wary of children, he's not nasty, but he has growled at our niece a few times, but she was being very rough with him. I'm just going with the idea that when baby comes along, if I make sure I still pay plenty of attention to him, take him for walks with baby in the pram etc he will be ok. He's not a nasty dog, but I guess with your dog, barking is their only form if communication so that may well of been his way of greeting the baby. Don't be worrying yet, when baby comes along just be sure to introduce dog to baby and spend lots of time with the dog, particularly taking him for walks whilst you've got baby with you. I've heard that helps

broodylicious · 02/02/2014 12:09

topmammy and bex it was me who said about nub theory at 12 week scan. Don't look into it though unless you defo want to know Wink

white not sure you got my PM?

cenadi · 02/02/2014 12:14

Hi I'd love to join the club! EDD is 9 Sep and first midwife appointment tomorrow morning. Going to stay Team Yellow throughout, first baby!

LH1981 · 02/02/2014 12:46

Welcome cenadi!

I've dreamt of both a boy and a girl (eek hope that's not a sign of twins!). Def finding out, but convinced it's a boy. Having very similar cravings to both my previous ds pregnancies, except for a craving for fruit - oranges in particular. But gone off sweet things like chocolate completely.

Wrt bf, I didn't have enough supply with ds1 so tipped up with formula, had no problems with ds2 at all and so will just see what happens this time. My boobs are so sore at the moment, they feel like rocks, and taking my bra off at the end of the day is torture!

Scan on Tuesday! X

Carly6971 · 02/02/2014 12:52

Afternoon ladies :) hope you are all having good Sundays :)

DH and I defo want to know the sex of our baby (I am convinced he's a boy) so much so that will prob pay for a private gender scan at 16/17 weeks!

We also have a small dog (shih tzu) who is our baby and totally spoiled! However she has always been great with friends kids and babies so I have no worries about her :) x

waffles1990 · 02/02/2014 15:41

hey everyone, I've not dropped off the face of the earth!! Thanks for the concern though :)

Just getting over a horrendous week of morning sickness!! starting to feel better now so hopefully it's onwards and upwards from here, I'm 9 weeks today.

To join in with the gender debate - convinced im having a boy. Will definitely be finding out at 20 week scan!!

weebairn · 02/02/2014 15:58

I always wanted two sons, I have a daughter, I think I will end up with three daughters Grin

We haven't decided if we're finding out yet. We didn't last time. All my baby gear is very unisex so it doesn't really matter from a practical point of view.

As long as baby is healthy and it's not TWINS I'll be happy :)

cookielove · 02/02/2014 16:25

I'm watching Gatwick fire service do a test and I am crying!!! Why! !

broodylicious · 02/02/2014 17:46

We won't be finding out sex either. I'd convinced myself I was having a boy last time but had a girl. This time, looking at my already massively bumpy tum, I have convinced myself it's twins in there! Either that or my recent addiction to cheese is starting to show up....

whiteblossom · 02/02/2014 17:48

Welcome cenadi Smile

yay to waffles, good to see your back and that everything is ok. Have you had a sneaky listen to your babys heartbeat yet?

Cookie, blame the hormones Grin

dh wants to go on holiday when im feeling better...im a bit nervous to fly/go abroad- thoughts anyone?

He's also told his staff that September is blocked out for him, no auth' hols Grin

Fairypants · 02/02/2014 18:01

I though it was you cookie. I'm sorry for your loss. I think this one will be our turn for a good outcome!

We will find out the sex. I'm very impatient so love every step close to 'B' day. DH is convinced that its a boy because every family he knows with 3 had 2 of one sort then 1 of the other (except I'm one of 3 girlsConfused). I'm happy with either but our dd's would prefer a boy.

I'm going on holiday at 16 weeks whiteblossom. To the Caribbean! It'll be our last adventurous holiday for a while so totally overspent but looking forward to it. Mw said to wear the stocking things and exercise during the flight, be extra careful with hand- washing and only go to good restaurants but otherwise won't be a problem. 2nd trimester is the best time to go. I'll be iffy about going away even in the uk during the summer hols but no reason not to go away in 2nd trimester unless you have known health complications.

WishUponAStar88 · 02/02/2014 18:42

I'm going to Spain at 31 weeks (obviously subject to change following dating scan). Thought about cancelling but mw said it'll be fine so long as it's an uncomplicated pregnancy. We're staying with friends who live over there so they'll know hospitals etc should anything unexpected happen

BexBoo12 · 02/02/2014 19:57

We should have been going on honeymoon at Easter, but we've held off booking one because I wasn't sure I'd want to go...still not decided.

Has anyone looked at baby heartbeat monitors? I've just been looking on amazon, you can get them as cheap as £20 and the reviews are brilliant- most have said you can hear heartbeat from 11 weeks!!!

topmammy · 02/02/2014 21:19

The baby heartbeat monitors sound interesting but what if for a perfectly good reason you couldn't find the heartbeat... I think it would make me too panicky. Your choice though of course :)

Ahh I really don't want to go to work tomorrow lol working full time + growing a baby = tired me

Carly6971 · 02/02/2014 21:56

Bex I just brought the angelsounds heart monitor for £20 but was obvs to early for me as only 9 weeks and couldn't hear anything, however I am a larger lady x
