Glad you're feeling better whiteblossom.
Bex- I expressed some so I could go out and for mixing with baby rice when weaning but never just so that DH could feed them. Bottles always seemed like such a faf and take ages to sort out which means the baby is crying whilst you do it. (If you are disorganised like me and used to feeding on demand) It didn't seem worth all that when I could just plug them straight on and everyone was happy. DH had other bonding things he did like having them in the bath with him.
I'm very proud that I managed to go out with lots of mummy friends last night and didn't tell anyone or even hint. There were even talks about planning trips in the summer (we usually go camping together) where I was just very quiet. Given I needed a special pillow to sleep before 10 weeks last time, I can't imagine I'll be up for camping this year!

rockin20s · 01/02/2014 12:54

We saw a heartbeat!!!! She measured me at 7w1d so a day behind my calculations. We are having a baby!!!!

Congratulations rockin! I'm glad it went well.

weebairn · 01/02/2014 13:29

DP did so much with my baby we never really saw that expressing to feed would add anything much, other than be an enormous faff... He settled her after every feed, winded her, rocked her, held her watching late into the night so I could sleep, did all the nappies until he went back to work, etc.

I did express for a while at around 4 weeks but it just seemed more hassle than anything so I soon stopped. I don't plan to this time...

I was lucky and had really good bf support. Very grateful.

Daytona79 · 01/02/2014 15:08

Hello I'm due on 29th sept

1st baby and so scared

Not fairing too well , was in hospital yesterday had a really sore pain right side, docs sent me to A&E

As I've never been pregnant I'm unsure what's normal and what's not

Turns out it's a 4cm cyst, hospital never seemed worried and sent me home

But it hurts and is getting me down, plus I feel sick and have zero energy

I'm feeling sorry for myself I think

Daytona79 · 01/02/2014 15:09

Oh they did a internal scan and confirmed me being 5.5weeks and the little blob had a tiny heartbeat , it was so weird seeing it.

topmammy · 01/02/2014 15:16

Welcome Daytona Sounds like you've have a stressful time so go ahead and feel sorry for yourself, I would lol.

Lots of us on here are pregnant with baby no.1, including myself, and I think most would admit to also being at least a bit scared! It's normal to feel like that :) if the hospital have sent you home then I would trust them and try not to worry too much, hard though I'm sure.

Relax and have a Brew :) There will always be someone on here to listen to any worries you have.

Daytona79 · 01/02/2014 15:22

Ha ha thanks

It's just the thought of feeling so crappy for another nine months , I'm like nooooooo.

Should of said I'm 34 hubby is 36 , no kids, live in aberdeen.

cookielove · 01/02/2014 17:05

Hello hello hello

Peed on my 10th stick to day obsessed need to curb the addiction :)

fairypants yy i was on the April 14 thread, lost the baby at 8+6 tried to post earlier but it seems it was swallowed up by stupid laptop, sorry to hear you had a loss to :(

All is well here so far anyway!

6+2 (or 3)

weebairn · 01/02/2014 18:26

At my brothers dealing with 3 hyperactive toddlers feeling sick as a dog and trying to hide it! I feel like death... I just want to go to bed! We have to get all the kids to sleep and then I have to get through supper somehow

I will tell him soon but 6 weeks just feels too early.

I really want the lovely wine he has too... :(

Lottystar · 01/02/2014 18:33

Pleased your scan went well Rockin...countdown to next Thurs for me. Last time was awfully upsetting when the sonographer bluntly told me in the EPU before my mc at 7 weeks "well there's nothing there, are you sure you're pregnant?" This time it's a private scan but bricking it. I've had a bit of a sore tummy and aching back, everything has me worried!

broodylicious · 01/02/2014 19:11

weebairn yeah same here - she feeds just twice a day, morning and bedtime. Ideally I'd like not to have to tandem feed but I don't want to just refuse her or stop suddenly so if she's still going, I'll give it a go. We'll see.

I am concerned how i will cope in those early days when you just feel like you're a cow being milked practically all day but for us, the pros of bfing totally outweigh the cons. Bottles, sterilising, expressing, starving and screaming baby waiting for milk to warm etc just felt like too much of a faff. Baps out, baba on, all is good Wink

Bfing is definitely tough on mummy and you need a good support network around you if you struggle in the early days - NCT, la leche league, sure start centres, local groups - but I wouldn't change it for the world and an just very grateful I had a great dh and amazing community mw to help me through the first shitty and painful few days.

broodylicious · 01/02/2014 19:15

Btw having said all that, I do not believe in that ridiculous law that Dubai wants to pass about all new mums having to bf for two years!! Stupid.
And many women would dearly love to bf but can't. An awful lot of pressure is put on new mummies these days - like we don't already know breast is best? Shaddup already! - but if you can't do it, you can't. Likewise, if you don't want to, that's your decision! Formula is not poison ffs.
(Soz for the rant, I love talking bf!)

whiteblossom · 01/02/2014 20:24

yeah you said it broody. lesson learnt.

topmammy · 01/02/2014 21:45

Gone to bed to sleep because I feel sick, but can't sleep because I feel sick and have a constant dry mouth. Boo!!

cookielove · 01/02/2014 22:01

Went out bowling, come home feeling sick and my boobs hurt just by being in a bra :s

xxmissbrightsidexx · 01/02/2014 22:15

Really really craving a can of coke, 2nd night running. Don't even like coke that much, but considering going to the takeaway just for a can lol xx

isitme1 · 02/02/2014 08:35

We've not heard from waffles for a while. Hope shes ok

I bf ds1 for a day or 2 but he was 'allergic'

I bf ds2 for around 3 months but supply was shit and he had formula to top him up

bugoven · 02/02/2014 09:30

I keep dreaming about having a baby girl infact I am leaning so far towards being sure I'm having a girl I keep subconsciously referring to baby as "she". For this reason I am thinking we will find out the gender because after another 30 weeks of this I would feel very guilty if I had a boy. Is that weird?!?

xxmissbrightsidexx · 02/02/2014 09:42

Apparently if you dream about having a boy or a girl, you have the opposite, which is true for me cos I dreamt about having girls and my two were boys xx

isitme1 · 02/02/2014 09:52

Bug I had a dream with ds1 that I was having a boy. And he looked likr my elder bro (which he does a bit but mot as much as the dream)

with ds2 I thought I was having a girl as the pregnancy was sooo different. With ds1 I ate everything with ds2 I couldn't eat at all.

This 1 is a 50/50 lol.

rockin20s · 02/02/2014 10:13

I'm convinced mine is a boy, don't know why.

I'm exhausted today slept only 4 hours, been awake since 5. I just want to be able to sleep again

OP posts:
whiteblossom · 02/02/2014 10:30

oh yes Ive had some vivid dreams too not about the baby as such just that it was there iykwim.

Yeah I noticed waffles absence, hope your ok my lovely, let us know how your getting on.

I wonder if Im having a girl with all the fruit Im eating, but who knows!

Todays obsession: ready salted French fries (crips)

Im in the 'I desperately need to eat something but god only know what' mood.

BexBoo12 · 02/02/2014 10:42

Morning ladies, how are you all?
I have also noticed waffles hasn't been around, hopefully she's just busy with work and she will be back soon.

I had a terrible day yesterday, felt so poorly and was willing myself to be sick but it just never came. Slept in til 9 yesterday morning, had an hours sleep at 11, fell asleep again at 5 through til 8:30, then slept from midnight through to 8:30 this morning. After all that sleep I honestly feel great so I'm wondering if it was maybe something I had eaten? Who knows Shock

Interesting gender chat, my DH refers to baby as a he all the time and I keep shouting at him telling him if he convinced himself it's a boy he will be disappointed if it's a girl!! I do have a weird feeling it's a boy...but interestingly keep dreaming about a girl?!

Is anyone finding out the sex? Hubby wants to, I'm on the fence...

xxmissbrightsidexx · 02/02/2014 11:01

My OH keeps referring to baby as she, I think it's another boy though x
