Fairypants · 31/01/2014 15:53

Sorry for worrying you rockin. I have no idea how common it is for it to cause mc or anything but would push for tests after my chat with the mw today.

Tbh, I'm a little upset to find this out as there was something wrong with my sample last time and they didn't re-do it. If they had, I could have had antibiotics instead of a mc. Sad

Kittyrose1 · 31/01/2014 16:15

I didn't read the replies properly earlier as lots of you have come back re : feeling sick vs being sick. Other the course of today my nausea has got worse, my tummy feels really fragile lol.

Sebsmummy I'm pleased the scan was positive. Let's just keep everything crossed now xx

Can't believe that about the uti'a they are so common yet why do some gps treat them with poor attitude in some pg women. Don't freak out rocking you can get anti bs if you need them

sebsmummy1 · 31/01/2014 16:40

White blossom I think if you are very slim you will show earlier. I have a little pot belly already so nope, nothing to see here.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 31/01/2014 16:52

White I'm very bloated and round lol that's why we had to tell parents, cos they're coming in Feb and I wouldn't have been able to hide it. Didn't show til around 5 months with my first, started showing at about 10 weeks with my 2nd x

whiteblossom · 31/01/2014 17:30

Rockin I don't think you should'nt worry unless you have an ache about fist size where your bladder is (middle low front) pain while/after weeing blood in wee, bits floating in wee. Fever. pain.

You can have any of these individually and NOT have a UTI. Oftan you can feel like you have one but its just the pregnancy. Smelly wee can be a sign but it might just mean your wee smells! Grin

I just got back from gp, its a long story but Ive had to drop off sample at hospital so should get results Monday and if I have to take antibiotics before then, then I have a prescription. However gp just being safe as Im pg. Dip stick did show up something but GP said it might not indicate an infection so to hold off AB for now.

I just ate the most amazing sandwich since before xmas. M&S I love you! Grin Think I might have to pop back tomorrow haha.

My dm popped over today she seams ok with me and my cover is still intact, however she did say that she thinks her cancer is back...it never rains but it pours as the saying goes.

KitKat1985 · 31/01/2014 17:31

So pleased I'm not the only one. I'm only 7 weeks (although 7 and a half by my dates) but have a noticeable bump appearing. I have gained no weight so far so this isn't a weight gain thing, but it is starting to get pretty obvious regardless. It's not helped that at work I have to wear a pretty unforgiving nursing uniform that is hiding nothing. I had already confided in a few close work colleagues when I found out and they have also pointed out to me in the past week (not that I hadn't noticed) that I have a stomach bump starting to show through, (and a few colleagues who don't know are starting to look at my stomach with curiosity). Haven't been able to do any trousers or jeans up for about 3 weeks! Ekk! I'm normally a size 10-12 (usually a 12) so I'm not massively skinny or anything, so am surprised this is showing so soon! I know it must be largely bloating rather than baby bump at this stage but it's not making hiding it any easier! xx

whiteblossom · 31/01/2014 17:37

ditto kitkat Ive gained all of two pounds but that includes breakfast and a drink before weighing myself Grin so I took that with a pinch of salt. I gotta eat first thing- the scales have to wait!

Sicky88 · 31/01/2014 17:49

I'm living on bacon at the moment, I've had a bacon sandwich for every meal for the last 3 days, but at least I'm eating. I've ordered Chinese tonight so lets hope that tastes as it good as it sounded when I ordered it.

CumbrianExile · 31/01/2014 18:00

Hi All

FX for your mum WhiteBlossom

Had my booking in appt today. Its a lot to take in isn't it. MW has sent the request for the scan appt off to the hospital so hopefully I will know in the next week or so. No early scans for me, as much as I would like one!

Off to visit the PIL in Ireland tomorrow. MW advised flight socks (even though the flight is only 55 minutes!) and those things aren't cheap. Ah well, the things we do for our beans Grin

xxmissbrightsidexx · 31/01/2014 18:00

Is it bad that I was seriously considering having.a cheese & jam sandwich just now lol xx

whiteblossom · 31/01/2014 18:10

thanks cumbrian that's very kind. I suspect it will be a while before we know anything for sure. Will you be telling IL's your news?

Fairypants · 31/01/2014 18:42

Sorry for the additional worry about your mum white blossom.

I'm going out with some mummy friends tonight. It wouldn't occur to them that I could be pg as we've passed that point (my youngest is 11). But I told a couple about my last pg/mc so they will probably suspect as I could easily walk to the pub instead of driving. I just hope they don't give the game away to everyone else as I don't want it be gossiped round school yet.

CumbrianExile · 31/01/2014 18:47

Whiteblossom the PIL know already. DH got over excited by the news and told them not longer after the BFP haha.

But it will be hard keeping it from SIL whilst there. She lives with the PIL, and normally the MIL is pouring me wine as I walk in the door, and keeps me topped up the whole time I am there lol. Trying to tell as few people as possible before the 12 weeks, and SIL is not very discreet, so want to avoid her knowing if at all possible!

CumbrianExile · 31/01/2014 18:50

For those suffering with MS. I have been suffering really bad nauseous periods (was off work Monday as there was no way I could have hidden it from my colleagues).

My DH was reading up on these things, and discovered one of the things recommended was peppermint. Being an ex cumbrian, I have a stash of Kendal Mint Cake in the house, and it has really helped! Worth a try.

Carly6971 · 31/01/2014 18:52

Hello ladies I just wondered being a first timer how long it takes for your scan appointments to come through? I have a private one (15/2) but had booking appt with midwife 20th jan and still heard nothing about a scan? Also all the blood she took do you just here if anything is wrong when you go for a 16 week appt? I really have no clue what's going on lol...also may it take longer for a scan if having consultant led care?

And on a final note is anyone else an emotional wreck? I have just cried for 20 mins coz I am so happy to write on here but then thought how hard it's been to get to this point and am suddenly sobbing for all the other ppl struggling! I am constantly crying...and I am not usually a crier..is this normal?

BexBoo12 · 31/01/2014 19:02

Carly I cry all the time at the moment!!! Xx

CumbrianExile · 31/01/2014 19:14

Carly I have turned into a cryer too! DH has started ignoring me when I blubber on the sofa haha

rockin20s · 31/01/2014 19:15

carly im the same getting emotional jusst thinking about things, watch th new budwiser super bowl ad yesterday and welled up LOL

not sure howlong itt takes to get the the scan date, i dontt have mine yet.booked a private one for tomorrow.

OP posts:
Fairypants · 31/01/2014 19:24

My mw said today I should hear in a couple of weeks but varies by area.
I'm a bit teary but would be worse if I wasn't so careful about triggers.

broodylicious · 31/01/2014 19:26

Complete blubberer here too carly. It's quite daft and dh just laughs at me now - especially when it's something like a tv advert (he knows better than to laugh at me crying at corrie!) I keep on looking at dd and crying atm, just thinking how lucky we are to have her and how she'll be a good older sis etc. Stupid stuff really!

broodylicious · 31/01/2014 19:28

Sorry forgot to say re scans - my mw said at booking appt today it'd be within two weeks that I get a letter from hospital. I think it was the same last time so sounds right. Only four weeks to go Smile

TwosaCrowd · 31/01/2014 19:29

This is so annoying, I REALLY want to tell people I'm pregnant but I have to wait over 2 weeks for my booking in appointment with a midwife who will send me for a scan, so probably another 4-5 weeks until I can get a scan!

whiteblossom · 31/01/2014 19:40

thanks FP

Cumbrian how ace is your MIL, wine flowing on tap while your there! My MIL only ever has a cats arse face Grin

I cry at the most daft things, managed to keep this secret so far.

twosa I know right!!

topmammy · 31/01/2014 20:18

Haha whiteblossom lol @ your cat's arse face description.

Well I feel like such a pig; I do have mild MS (waves of nausea for most of the day but no actual vomitting) but unlike most of you who can't eat much at all, this past week I have the absolute munchies!! I am going to be huuuuuuuge by due date if I keep this up haha.

Just had lasagne with chips and a salad which should be enough but now I quite fancy choc pud with custard Blush

It's strange how getting scan appts differ in our different areas. At my booking appt the mw just went on her computer and booked my 12 week scan and my 16 week appt there and then, which was good so I could negotiate what suited me etc.
