Morning all! Will be thinking of you today sebs. Let us know how you get on xx

cookie are you having some concerns too? Saw you're going to call epu for scan? Fx you're ok x

Can't remember who it was who asked about actual sickness, sorry... But yes I've been actually sick a few times now. However, seeing as this time last pregnancy I was pretty much throwing up for the whole day (it lasted from conception til 16ish weeks), I'm counting my blessings..... And naturally worrying that all is not well!

Got my booking in appt at 12 today. Be good to get the ball rolling and discuss a few things of concern with my mw. I think it's the same one as before - not overly excited at the prospect (never filled me with confidence in all those weeks I saw her last time!) but she was perfectly pleasant and always managed to find my veins and baby's heartbeat at least Wink

kicksandgiggles · 31/01/2014 10:02

Good luck today sebs. I've got everything crossed for you.

Sorry you're having such a rough time of it newlywed.

As for MS, I haven't actually been sick, but feel really nauseous most of the time. It's often worse after I eat than before, and not much appeals food-wise.

LH1981 · 31/01/2014 10:17

Urgh, this ms is yuck! I feel so sick! Think today might be the day it develops into actual hurling. Feel so sorry for you ladies who've got it really bad!

Got to tidy the house and can't seem to pick myself up off the sofa!

KitKat1985 · 31/01/2014 10:31

The first time I nearly threw up was on the Christmas dinner table. Hmm The bizarre thing was I quite literally can only have conceived a day or two before (my LMP was 13th Dec) so at the time I assumed I had food poisoning from a curry I had the night before, as I never knew morning sickness could start that early. However, the nausea has continued up to me getting my BFP and beyond, so I must just be an unfortunate sod whose morning sickness was near instantaneous upon conception! Sad I've been sick once, but most of the time just get nausea and (lots) of food aversions. It comes and goes a bit. Although a few times I've had to stop eating something halfway through because I know it'll make me vomit if I swallow another mouthful. Mornings seem to be worse. On Wednesday the nausea was bloody horrendous (how I made through work I don't know), but yesterday and today have been better. Indeed this morning I managed something other than dry belvita biscuits for breakfast for the first time in about 3 weeks I think! I think it may be optimistic to assume the worst is over though given that I'm only 7 weeks, but a bit of respite is appreciated. You never know though, maybe if morning sickness starts early it finishes early I really hope so.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 31/01/2014 10:33

Morning girls Brew xx
Good luck today seb honey, will be thinking of you xx

broodylicious · 31/01/2014 10:35

kitkat that was me last time! We conceived when we were away in Germany and I was almost sick on the flight back home - a few days after I'd conceived! This time, I was violently sick two days after I think I conceived but I put that down to eating too many marshmallows the afternoon before Shock Madness isn't it? Hope you get a better ride than I had last time and it eases up soon x

xxmissbrightsidexx · 31/01/2014 10:37

Toast is really one of the only things I can manage to eat, had a curry last night and had to force it down, feel sick at the thought of food.
We live near a biscuit factory and usually the smell of freshly cooked biscuits is heavenly, but now it just turns my stomach :( When I was pregnant with my youngest I went off KFC, and to this day i still can't manage anything from there, only their snack wraps :( lol xx funny what pregnancy does, just hope I don't go off biscuits! Lol xx

weebairn · 31/01/2014 10:55

Why is it called morning sickness anyway?? I am okish in the morning, but the nausea builds and builds all day, and then by evening I go to bed at 8pm with no dinner. LAME. I am only 6 weeks.

I find exercise helps a little bit. I do some yoga in the mornings (DD likes to climb on me and pull my hair which is quite challenging :D ) and make sure I get out the house when I'm feeling very rough. The sleet is not massively tempting though...

BexBoo12 · 31/01/2014 11:02

Weebairn I'm with you in the evening nausea. I feel mostly fine all day - although I've figured out if I let myself get hungry, the sickly feeling is unbearable - and by about 7 I feel tough, by 8 I feel worse, and by 9pm I'm in bed feeling horrendous, but never actually sick??

weebairn · 31/01/2014 11:03

Yeah no actual vomiting here. I retched after eating some fish the other night. (Normally my favourite food!) But no actual vomiting. I have eaten chicken soup 5 days in a row. Bleugh.

I keep telling myself, it's a good sign, it's a good sign...

Newlywed2013 · 31/01/2014 11:04

Thanks ladies! It really is not very nice! I have been told to eat whatever I can and not to worry about nutrition at all for the moment as I just need to hve something in me! It's just hard work trying to function each day when like this! I'm about I attempt to do a fe hours at work so that should be interesting if I manage! If I end up in hosp again I'm going to ask about changing my meds to something stronger as when I'm on hosp they gave me an injection last time which was good and time before some Iv anti sickness which was good!
Bring on September!!! Get this baby out!

xxmissbrightsidexx · 31/01/2014 11:08

Eek it's snowing here :)

Kittyrose1 · 31/01/2014 11:10

Hope your little man picks up isitme! Bless him.

Cookie and isitme I'm pleased it's not just me then, sounds ridiculous as I worry about why I don't feel really sick but should be thinking it as a blessing really. At times I just feel Iike I'm really starving hungry sick if that makes sense and then it goes.
Rocking, exciting your scan is only tomorrow! I had my through it's march 14th so will be just over 12 weeks then

isitme1 · 31/01/2014 11:17

Thanks kitty.
he just had a tantrum and ran to the lady next to us (who hes never seen before until this morning) and sat in her lap as 'mama was being naughty'w
we went over to say hello as its a llil baby and ds loves babies. He wouldn't move lol.

Got appointments all next week so hope hes out today

on a pregnancy note I have my scan on Wednesday as couldn't do this week due to ds being ill x

KitKat1985 · 31/01/2014 11:17

Sorry to hear you're having such a rough time newlywed. That sounds horrendous. Definitely push for stronger anti-sickness meds. Living day-to-day with morning sickness that bad must be a nightmare.

broodylicious so interesting to hear I'm not the only one who got morning sickness ridiculously early. It's so bizarre. Almost everything I've ever read about morning sickness suggests it normally starts at 5-6 weeks onwards, I never knew it was possible to get morning sickness as early as we did. Guess we're just unlucky eh?! Confused

Lottystar · 31/01/2014 11:38

Thanks for the advice ladies re: greeny discharge (yucky) I've got to do a swab at the GPs a bit later.

I hope your little ds is better soon isitme, sounds like you have a lot on your plate at the mo.

Ms is horrid, I tend to feel awful when I wake up. A bit better after eating but it can be on and off throughout the day. I find eating a little and often helps. Majorly gone off spicy stuff, which I usually love. Just want cheese and crackers Smile

sebsmummy1 · 31/01/2014 12:40

Hiya, just got out.

She didn't even try a external scan, did an internal one which was fine. The baby is in my uterus so not an ectopic. It has good blood supply and she could see a yolk sac. Couldn't see a heart beat or anything else but said she didn't expect to.

I was shaking so hard and my legs were going mental as I was so scared.

Another scan booked in two weeks time which I think is going to be key. For the moment I am pregnant and that's all I know without a crystal ball xxx

xxmissbrightsidexx · 31/01/2014 12:49

I'm not sure what to say Seb, fingers crossed for you hun xx Thanks xx

rockin20s · 31/01/2014 12:58

oh seb keep your head up, plenty of people bleed in early pregnacy and go on to have healthy babies

MS: thankfully i have missed most of this, i find if i get over hungry then i feel sick, even after i eat. food aversions/cravings are starting to creep in. just made a panini with wholegraine mustard, ham, cheese and relish. the first bite was a little wrong but then i gobbled the whole thing down

im finding weekly shopping hard, what i buy at teh start of the week i dont like by the end of the week. Hmm

Fx then sebs your little bean will stick and grow. Pleased you got to have your mind put to rest for now xxx

Just been for my booking in appt. MW very keen on pushing the home birth because the birth was straight forward last time. From the point of view of not having to call mil to look after dd while I'm in hospital, I must admit, it makes sense. However, dd gets upset when I stub my toe and scream or owwww so I just think it would be horribly horrific for her to see me in that pain. Also, even though we are only a mile from the hospital, I just think it would only take a few moments for things to go wrong and I'd never forgive myself if that happened. So nope, for me, hospital it'll be again. I imagine with the second, I'll be turfed out of my bed a lot quicker anyway!

Fairypants · 31/01/2014 13:20

That sounds more positive than you were expecting last night sebs. I know the next two weeks will be tough though.

I had my booking appt today as well. I do want a home birth and she was very positive about that and gave me details of a local home birth group.
Talking to her, it's possible that my mc last time was caused by an undiagnosed uti. I haven't yet been able to process that - on one hand it could have been avoided but on the other, I guess I can insist on extra tests this time (I had no symptoms at any point, it was only when I had complications after mc that they did some tests).

Lottystar · 31/01/2014 13:31

That's good news for now Sebmummy, I know you will still worry though x

Lottystar · 31/01/2014 13:32

That's interesting Fairypants, my GP was rather blasé about my recurrent UTI in my last pregnancy (mc in Oct), I always knew there was risk but will watch more closely this time.

KitKat1985 · 31/01/2014 13:46

Glad to hear it went okay sebsmummy. My scan when I had spotting a week and a half okay was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. Was just so scared of seeing a blank screen. I know you will still be anxious until you can see a heart beat but at the moment everything is okay. A lot women just don't get any pregnancy symptoms but go on to have very healthy babies (how many times have you read stories in the paper about people giving birth and not even knowing they are pregnant because they still have periods, or not finding out until really late). I hope it's reassured you a bit. xxx

whiteblossom · 31/01/2014 14:44

Speaking of UTI's I'm off to gp later to check if I have my 2nd this month Sad.

I am huge, I've got a big round lower belly, anyone else have this?? If I lie flat I have a small-ish bump and normally if I lie flat my stomach sinks inwards. If I try to hold it in all I succeed in doing is holding in the upper bit of my tummy! I cant do any of my jeans up so making use of the (horrid) bump band.

Im trying to find loose dresses but my tights rest on my upper tummy making me feel sick so looking at bigger tights (=saggy knees?)

So difficult hiding it. I normally have a flat stomach. I popped in tesco today (first outing since xmas that excludes schools, docs, hospital and pharmacy!!) to find clothes Ive yet to try on though, just too tired.
