Oh my gosh, weeping over Coronation Street! :(

And sorry to hear your news littlemissy Thanks

topmammy · 20/01/2014 21:00

Wow twins! Congrats kicksandgiggles that's amazing!! There are so many of us on here I wouldn't be surprised if somebody else has twins too Grin

KitKat1985 · 20/01/2014 21:02

Wow kicksandgiggles that's so exciting! I can understand why you are scared but so exciting too! Wow! And so exciting after how nervous you must have been this morning! Grin

Had midwifes appointment today (was this early purely because they have had loads of new referrals recently, so are making a 'head start' on the booking appointments, otherwise would have had to wait until 8-10 weeks). All seems okay so far. Seems so 'real' to have antenatal notes now if you know what I mean. 12 week scan will be 7th March. Smile

LH1981 · 20/01/2014 21:08

Kicks that's amazing!!! You'll be busy then!! Grin

isitme1 · 20/01/2014 21:11

Dh is still at work :(
Hes doing a double day so he doesn't have to go tomorrow so he can come with me tomorrow to hospital appointment.

Had some pinky discharge on wiping yesterday morning. If I would have had more I would have gone in if it continued. Will let them know tomorrow.

Back feels horrible. Wee is burning and lower stomach hurts so im.sure its uti.. still haven't managed to get checked which is bad as I do suffer with utis
How is everyone x

broodylicious · 20/01/2014 21:14

topmammy wasn't it well done? I was crying my eyes out too. Award winning acting if ever I saw it. I noticed on twitter it's the NTAs this week so well timed....

Oh wow!! Twins!!! How exciting!! We should run a book on how many twins we think there will be because there are bound to be more as there's so many of us (but pls don't let it be me, I can hardly look after me and a toddler as it is, already panicking about trips to asda and the like with two bundles of beautifulness!!)

CumbrianExile · 20/01/2014 21:14

Wow Kicks, congrats on the news Grin

TwosaCrowd · 20/01/2014 21:30

Congrats kicks- bet that was unexpected! Do you mind me asking how old you are? I've heard twins are more likely in mums over 30?

bugoven · 20/01/2014 21:37

Hi everyone. I saw a heartbeat last Thursday. kicksandgiggles that's amazing!

LH1981 · 20/01/2014 21:42

Is anyone else finding it hard to concentrate?? My mind won't stay in one place!

haha broody, I was thinking that too! I think my dh would keel over if it was twins! Nothing showed up on my scan as it was too early so not ruled out yet! Eeek! Grin

Fairypants · 20/01/2014 21:45

I'm so sorry little and hope you get a sticky one next timeThanks
Kicks-well I guess that was worth the wait! I though you had really strong symptoms with twins but I guess not or you wouldn't have been so worried.Smile
LH - my dds are 15 and 11 so old enough to figure out something's going on and convince themselves it bad if we don't tell them. We felt they would suffer the bad news if we told them or not (as they sadly did last time) so they should at least get the good news and enjoy it. They are totally great at keeping it a secret too.

surromummy · 20/01/2014 21:47

wow kicks that's amazing!! excitingSmile Im a little worried as I distinctly ovulated from both sides this month, Ive never felt it before but it definitely happened, whether two eggs were released I obviously don't know but Its worrying me slightly! Would be a lovely surprise for the parents but hard on me! I had not contemplated more than one as there is no history of twins in my family, will have to wait and see! Confused

kicksandgiggles · 20/01/2014 21:48

Thanks for the congratulations! I am still in shock, but excited nonetheless.

Twos I am 30. I have read that fraternal twins are more common in older mums (I think they classify this as over 35), as older women are more likely to release multiple eggs in a cycle, but there is no known cause for identical twins, which are much rarer.

ShreddedHoops · 20/01/2014 22:07

Hello ladies can I join you? Very newly pregnant with my second and excited reading all your news especially twins! I didn't think I had any family history of twins but my mum recently told me that her mum, so my gran, miscarried twins. So am now hoping for twins! Haha. DH would go mental!

I'm about 4 weeks, so will wait a week or two before calling doc. I have a uterine anomaly that makes miscarriage more likely, so am trying not to get too excited and failing miserably

kicksandgiggles · 20/01/2014 22:08

Oh and I have had pretty strong symptoms, although not noticeably different from my singleton pregnancy with DS yet. In retrospect, I had two lots of implantation bleeding - once on CD20, and again on CD22.

kicksandgiggles · 20/01/2014 22:09

Welcome Shredded! There are twins in my family, and DH's, but apparently genetics have nothing to do with identical twins - there is no known cause.

ShreddedHoops · 20/01/2014 22:12

Do you already have a child kicksandgiggles? Do you have room for twins?! We have nowhere to put this one even if there's only one of him!

kicksandgiggles · 20/01/2014 22:15

Yes Shredded, I have a 2.5 year-old DS. Luckily we just bought a five-bedroom house (as we were planning on three kids - just not so quickly), so we do have space!

How old is your first?

ShreddedHoops · 20/01/2014 22:20

Ah you are lucky then! If you had planned three then you might as well get it all done in one go, very efficient Smile

DS is 2, we only have two bedrooms and might be in negative equity so can't move, currently in battle with the council to extend, not looking hopeful so might be a bit of a squish for a few years. Oh well! I shared a room til I left home, I'm sure it'll be fine, but DH is stressing about it.

JustMarriedBecca · 20/01/2014 22:26

Hi

Could you add me too please? Stats:

Me: 31
DH: 31
EDD: 24 September
First baby. First cycle.
Live in leafy North London but will be having baby at UCH.
Currently addicted to: Bagels and Chilli

DH is insisting on being Team Yellow until Baby is born.

charlieis30 · 21/01/2014 00:27

Aaaaaaand... the nausea has started. Last week (1 week post-ov) it was only when I drank coffee, this week it was as soon as I got up. I'm only 4 weeks, surely too early? :(
DH is all, "if you're positive you'll have a positive pregnancy!" - easy for him to say!!! Bless him he did get me some water and biscuits when I was lying in bed groaning.

KitKat1985 · 21/01/2014 02:37

Shit. I've got up at 2am to use the loo and I've started spotting. It's pinkish in colour (sorry if TMI). I'm 5 + 4 so too late to be implantation I would have thought, as that would have been nearly a month ago. Its sodding 2am and I'm scared and have no-one to talk to.

BooSurprise · 21/01/2014 03:03

Ah kitkat I'm awake so can virtual handhold, although don't have any real advice. Lots of people do spot in early pregnancy without problems, so it needn't necessarily mean anything bad.

sebsmummy1 · 21/01/2014 04:46

Kitkat hope you are ok, hand holding here too xx

lucidlady · 21/01/2014 07:01

Kitkat do you have an EPU nearby that can check you out? Hope you are ok x
