Just catched up reading everyone's messages (only been 2 days that I've missed, but moves so fast). Good luck for today to everyone who has scans :)

I had tiny bit of dark brown blood when I wiped the other day (sorry for tmi) but only happened twice and now has gone. So I've calmed down now, was worrying like mad.

whiteblossom · 28/01/2014 12:02

Morning all,

Good luck to those with scans, are they 12 weeks scans, they cant be can they, early check ups?

I was dying on sunday, then on Monday I turned a corner and I was feeling significantly better, so thought I might crash today but ive managed to walk to my local village and its my second day OUT of bed Grin

Ive had to go to gp and get something for thrush Blush this is not something I ever suffer with, in fact the last I had I was pregnant!

Im really really hoping Ive turned a corner with the MS, it was unbearable on sunday. But of course you start to wonder WHY its calmed down but to be honest Im just gratefull its let up a bit.

I've bought anti sickness bands but Im sceptical, they def' did NOT work last time but its worth a try.

Rockin- was it you that mentioned rib pain, Ive had that on the left side. Not really bad but niggling, weird.

broodylicious · 28/01/2014 12:17

Just ordered sickness bands. After an horrific day yesterday - swimming with a toddler and ms is a vile combo Blush - I just have to give them a try. £2 isn't that much to spend as it does appear to work for some of you ladies! We will see....

Good luck to everyone with scans today. Lots of flickering heart beats please :)

sittingpretty25 · 28/01/2014 12:58

Oh goodness. I'm a wreck. Gp just called and midwife took urine sample and I have a uti. Got to take antibiotics and my gp was saying that they cause miscarriage and he wasn't hopeful because iv been having abdo pain. If I'm no better by Thursday iv got to go for a scan but he said prepare yourself!!

Is he just saying the worst to cover his own back, or do I have reason to be freaking out right now?? I just want to know my baby is ok. Don't think I can wait til Thursday. I don't know what to do. Would a pregnancy test help or not???

whiteblossom · 28/01/2014 13:00

OMG Broody they cost me over £8 in boots!!! well miffed now Angry and they didn't have the other two things I went in for so ended up going to two different shops, my local boots is soooo shit, I really don't know why I bother going in!

whiteblossom · 28/01/2014 13:03

sitting I think your GP has unfairly put the fear on god into you!!! UTI in pregnany is VERY common, ive already had one and had two lots of antibiotics.

A uti can cause problems if left as it can irritate the uterus and go on to a kidney infection.

Take the tablets and go for a scan. The pain is likey the UTI and or the stretching.

whiteblossom · 28/01/2014 13:05

Sitting, Im assuming you have not had any bleeding and otherwise well?

whiteblossom · 28/01/2014 13:07

NO a pregnany test would not help. Even if the worst had happened then the body can takes weeks for the hormones to go back to normal levels.

Please calm down, I strongly suggest ringing a different GP and getting a second opinion ( a sensible one)

whiteblossom · 28/01/2014 13:12

sitting if you can face it drink a carton of cranberry juice a day until your certain its cleared. If not then Holland and barett do tablets which are the best Ive found. You can probably pick some up most places, Tesco, superdrug etc

let us know how you get on xx sorry for all the posts Smile

cavamonster · 28/01/2014 13:16

Sittingpretty I definitely agree with white blossom- I think the gp has been hugely irresponsible here and would want a second opinion probably before I took any tablets he was prescribing.
Also agree no point in doing a pg test, won't give any indication due to existing hormone levels.

Can you contact your epu directly? Fingers crossed for you.

Mummyinpink1289 · 28/01/2014 13:24

Sitting i cannot believe your GP said that to you when as someone has already said UTI's are so common in pregnancy - i think i have one also, waiting for results to come back today. you definately should speak with another doctor as this one sounds very unprofessional.

Had my booking in app with the midwife yesterday and all went well, im low risk blah blah -altho she did tell me that they no longer are allowed to listen in to the heart beat until 25 weeks! - i asked why as it was always 16 before and she said becuase a lot of the time they cant hear the heart beat which then leaves mum to be panicking and not being able to go for a scan to check if everything is ok until 20 weeks. seems stupid to me and now we have to wait another 9 weeks to hear it. Sad

So hard keeping quiet at work - the subject of pregnancy comes up most days in the office particularly after last week we found a strip off a pregnancy wrapper outside our ladies toilets which means someone else in the office could also be pregnant and i have a suspicion its my boss - eek.

sittingpretty25 · 28/01/2014 13:33

Thanks everyone - calmed me down a fair bit.

I had a bad kidney infection in October so I generally drink cranberry juice every other day but I will up the intake for sure!

My doc is usually just so good and lovely - he has helped us loads over the past few years - my DH broke his back and I got chronic fatigue and a few other things - so I do trust him. Maybe he was having a bad day??!!

It's also really good to know others of you have had uti's and you all ok. Even if I am feeling better I'm still going for a scan!!

Oh and to too it all off one of my friends called and asked if I can meet her for coffee as she wants to have a 'chat' - with the whole 'it's prob not you but me being sensitive' ... She doesn't know I'm gp but not what I need today - I just want to hibernate until I can see a heartbeat on a screen or not!!!!!

whiteblossom · 28/01/2014 13:33

Grin mummy that made me laugh that someone found part of a pregnancy wrapper lol I can imagine the gossip mill full steam ahead.

I don't think I could do a test at work, I just wouldn't be able to concentrate afterwards.

sittingpretty25 · 28/01/2014 13:35

Oh and iv called my local epu at the weekend as I felt awful and had bad pains (constipated in the end lol) and they were the most unhelpful bunch of people I ever met. So no, pretty sure I don't want to call them again....

xxmissbrightsidexx · 28/01/2014 13:38

Hope everythings okay Sitting

I had my scan, measuring 6 weeks 2 days and baby's on my left side so it'll have been implanting and ligaments stretching causing my pains, saw a flickering heartbeat, the little bean looked so cute x Very relieved right now xx

whiteblossom · 28/01/2014 13:38

Sitting glad you have calmed down. Constipation can be very painful.

Im off to get a glass of cranberry now Smile

whiteblossom · 28/01/2014 13:40

missb oh that's so exciting!! Now you can relax (well a bit!) Smile

xxmissbrightsidexx · 28/01/2014 13:40

Must be an EPU thing Sitting cos when I phoned on Friday telling them about my pains etc, the woman really spoke down to me and wasn't even going to give me a scan. Was really scared and she didn't make me feel any better xx

xxmissbrightsidexx · 28/01/2014 13:42

Lol yeah White I'm going to try relax now, think we're going to tell family later, haven't spoken to my mum in a few days, have been scared to speak to anyone in case it was bad news xx

ThisIsMeNow · 28/01/2014 13:46

Yay! Congrats missb! Lovely news.

Had my booking appointment with midwife who was lovely and saw me when I was pg with dd.
She's put me down as high risk as there's a few issues that migh make things a bit awkward. I don't mind as a SAHM and living a 5 minute walk from the hospital if it means I feel more reassured then I'll happily have more appointments!

rockin20s · 28/01/2014 14:05

my booking appointment isn't until next Wednesday, was suppose to be tomorrow but she had to cancel, im getting very impatient....cant wait till next week.

MissB congrats on seeing your little guy, sitting im very surprised by your Doctor, maybe you didn't sound too concerned so he overemphasized the importance of getting checked out so you would take it seriously? glad you have clamed down now.

rockin20s · 28/01/2014 14:12

I have booked in for a private early scan on the 8th, but i asked to be put on the cancellation list for this Saturday....yes I'm that impatient

cant wait to see a little heartbeat!!!!!

xxmissbrightsidexx · 28/01/2014 14:33

Thanks ladies for your messages xx Thanks

sebsmummy1 · 28/01/2014 14:37

Congrats on seeing your little bean's heart beat MissB Grin. So happy for you xxx

Well I had my midwife booking on appointment this morn and she basically told me to go away and come back later lol. She had no idea why I was told to see her this early (6 weeks) when normally they wait till 9. I said about the bleed and she said it wasn't wise to go through the booking in procedure when we weren't sure the pregnancy is viable, so she is going to get back to me re. the early scan and I've cancelled my docs appointment for tomorrow.

Funnily enough I wasn't at all upset as I think I've come to terms with possible scenarios in my head. Between you (the whole internet) and me, I actually think I'm going to be ok and the baby is fine. I don't know why I think that, I just do!!

rockin20s · 28/01/2014 14:48

seb i seemed to swing from thinking everything will be perfect and I want to tell the world I'm pregnant to the opposite and the lack of symptoms etc means its not viable so dont want to tell anyone as i would prefer not to have everyone crowding around me making sure im ok if the worst did happen.

i have also started to go through all teh scenarios in my head, my DH says I'm overthinking everything but i cant help it,
