Didn't see one started, as our last thread looks full. Let's hope we are all kicking the early pregnancy sickness and starting to glow :)

So happy to hear your news plate Grin

ZingSweetApple · 24/01/2014 23:02

I think I felt two faint kicks today, again Shock

anyone else gets leg cramps at night? I need to take my own advice and start on a Mg supplement.

mummytobejuly2014 · 25/01/2014 11:30

16wks+1. wish I could feel kicks zing Envy

AuntieMaggie · 25/01/2014 12:52

Thanks zing not painful at all - its a cyst apparently and I just have to leave it Hmm

HomeIsWhereTheGinIs Yep loads of gas here - especially in the morning when I stretch and get up! Blush

plate I'm really pleased all worked out Flowers

Incapinka I usually can't tolerate bread/carby foods very well but have been eating it quite happily since being pregnant (which is good as toast/sandwiches seem to be diet staples!) and my usual stomach issues are fine even though I've come off my medication because I'm pregnant. Funny isn't it!?!

mummytobejuly2014 Zing already has several children which means she will feel the baby earlier than those who are first timers so don't worry.

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday - I'm really headachy today so wrapped up on the sofa catching up with all my tv programmes I recorded in the week that DP doesn't like (Hawaii five 0, NCIS, criminal minds, etc... I like crime stuff... and the real housewives of the OC!)

jaykay987 · 25/01/2014 13:36

NCIS, criminal minds, castle and mentalist are staples in our house Maggie!

(OBEM, The Taste, KUWTK, Mad Men have to be taped for when DH is out! Grin)

elliejjtiny · 25/01/2014 13:46

plate so pleased for you. Your DH sounds a lot like mine, I'm the worrier and he always says things will be fine.

I'm so tired and DH has gone out so I'm going to find something funny to watch with the DC's and microwave some popcorn.

Incapinka · 25/01/2014 14:22

AuntieMaggie - hopefully it will stay like that. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't eat bread and pasta at the moment!

Hope everyone is having a nice saturday!

oo00PIXIE00oo · 25/01/2014 15:56

maggie you could be here with me lol I have sky+ in the bedroom for NCIS LA, the following, criminal minds etc can't wait for suits and bones to start next week :) and I have had a headache since yesterday so DH has banned me to the bedroom.

I've calmed down over the downs results - think in just going to let nature take its course DH is comfortable with that too.

Wish I could feel baby as I keep forgetting I'm preggers ......

AuntieMaggie · 25/01/2014 15:59

Ha JayKay DP calls them my 'miserable programmes' and complains if I try to watch them when he's here. The only ones he can stand are silent witness, Sherlock and the bridge. He really hates cold case and bones!

fifi669 · 25/01/2014 16:00

I don't go LA NCIS it's all about Gibbs for me! I put serious consideration into calling the unborn Ziva :)

Fiveleaves · 25/01/2014 19:41

Are people beginning to feel movements? 17+2 with DC2 and nothing yet...beginning to worry. Silly I know. Heard a HB at 16 wks and bump seems to be growing. Still tired so am sure all is fine...

ZingSweetApple · 25/01/2014 19:56

Maggie is right, if it's your first baby you can expect the first movements to be felt around 18-22, depending on baby's position and other things

so there's absolutely no need to worry - even with DD, who is my 6th I felt nothing until 20 week!

(this is #7)

(I swear I felt two kicks at 14 weeks with DS2 and I think with DS5 it was 16 weeks - but it's easier to recognise movements earlier with your 2nd, 3rd etc!)

so please, please no-one worry if you feel nothing yet or even beyond 20 weeks!

Plateofcrumbs · 26/01/2014 15:28

Newsflash: I just ate a toasted Camembert and prosciutto sandwich. It was divine.

Top tip - I gave the bread a liberal dousing in water before putting under grill so I could get the Camembert safely bubbling hot without scorching the bread.

mummytobejuly2014 · 26/01/2014 15:59

sounds delish plate.
auntiemaggie have you been watching the following or hostages?

AuntieMaggie · 26/01/2014 17:50

No mummy but I've recorded the following starting this week and will look up the hostages!

mummytobejuly2014 · 26/01/2014 18:11

auntiemaggie the following is on season 2. try get season 1 on a catch up if you can

ismarah · 26/01/2014 18:19

Is this like a big DIY project? The beginning / first trimester is all fun because it's the start, the end / third trimester ia fyn because it's all coming nicely together. It's the middle bit that drags out a bit?

Still not feeling that pregnant / convinced everyday there's a bean in there... 16w6d today!

oo00PIXIE00oo · 26/01/2014 19:25

I agree on The Following brilliant series - am holding off watching the new series until I have 3/4 to watch as I had waiting lol

This is baby number 2 for me but DD is 11 so still haven't felt movement can't wait to as I think that will help to put my mind at rest. I have had a day of my body playing tricks on me - the little bean must be pushing on my bladder because I feel like I need a wee every 5 mins only to get an 'I fooled you' when I visit the loo :)

How is everyone else doing?

ellentullo · 26/01/2014 19:33

I'm really hoping that the midwife will try to have a listen in at my appointment tomorrow - v keen to hear a heartbeat. Although I know it's common to feel "not pregnant" in second trimester my symptoms have totally disappeared, and have no hint of a bump. My pregnancy books are full of things about maternity clothes and pictures of ladies with neatish but prominent bumps at 16weeks. Bit worried and don't think I can wait till 20weeks to be reassured that the baby is still alive and progressing

mummytobejuly2014 · 26/01/2014 20:17

ellen I have my 16wk midwife appointment 2mro also. hopefully hear the heartbeat, this not feeling any flutters yet does make you question is there really a little person in there. 4th of march is the big scan, hope to find out the gender then after everything's confirmed as being ok. haven't been offered/given any tests yet apart from the booking in blood test to see what blood type and to make sure theres no sti's and to check immunity against rubella. is this normal? maybe cos im in my 20s?
pixie i couldn't wait for a few to build up lol, recording call the midwife at mo, read the book over Christmas and enjoyed it

ismarah · 26/01/2014 20:55

Mummy Those tests are normal, don't worry. Also for every mw visit they will check your urine for protein and sugars to make sure everything is normal.

If you don't hear heartbeat, you might still hear the whoosh of movement when bean wiggles.

BlueC2 · 26/01/2014 21:20

Evening all...so this evening I was sick because of the smell of DS's stinky teething poo nappy-and all I did was walk in the room as DH was changing the nappy. Wondering how I'm going to manage tomorrow when I'm home alone with DS all day-pegs on my nose?! Once the retching starts it's bad news. Oh dear this could be interesting!

In other news I have a very obvious bump now but still impatient (and nervous) to hear heartbeat at 16wk app on wed.

Hope everyone has had a relaxing weekend

Patchwork88 · 26/01/2014 22:03

Hello I'm another one due on 2nd July!
I'm quite interested in what you're all saying about 16 week appointment as my midwife didn't listen to heart at 16 weeks. I was super disappointed. It was a v quick 10 minute appt and I'd got my hopes up to listen to the heart cos I'd read that it was normal. But she said that they wouldn't do that til the 28 week appt. I'm not too worried as I have the 20 week scan v soon but intrigued to know if anyone else had this experience?

ellentullo · 26/01/2014 22:10

There is no obligation for midwives to listen in - I think they are generally advised not to because it can cause unnecessary anxiety if they can't find a heartbeat. But think some still do because they always have done before.

Plateofcrumbs · 26/01/2014 22:20

My midwife had a go at listening to heartbeat at booking in at 12 weeks - we didn't hear it though. One of those things that makes me really glad for mumsnet - I already knew perfectly well that it would be very normal not to hear heartbeat that early on so wasn't the slightest bit fazed. To be honest I've got about 100x more useful advice from mumsnet than from my local midwife. That said, the midwives connected to the hospital where I've had my scans/tests have been utterly brilliant.
