Didn't see one started, as our last thread looks full. Let's hope we are all kicking the early pregnancy sickness and starting to glow :)

Hope you're okay mummy.

For a changing table we use a mat on top of a chest of drawers. Still using it at almost 2 years old though, she's not a wriggler!

ismarah · 06/02/2014 15:55

Hope Mummy is OK...

I spent today with MIL looking at pushchairs and baby things, which was a bit odd as we won't have room for half the usual things. No cot, no clothes storage, no changing table, no feeding chair. Etc.

On the plus side I liked the pushchair I had in mind from online research when in person and I've explained to MIL about our feelings about gender stereotyping and so on. So she knows the sort of thing we like..

mummytobejuly2014 · 06/02/2014 16:21

everything fine Grin little bugger just keeping us on our toes! they didn't like being scanned, wouldn't stay still long enough to get a pic and I havent been taking any caffeine. head measuring 2days ahead of due date so all looking good! got to see little ribs moving up and down breathing. head is engaged downwards. mw thought my bladder looked full even tho id been to loo half hr before :s not sure what this might mean. maybe little one was pushing on it to look full or something. roll on the next 4wks til we get the big scan and check for anomalies etc & can relax a bit more then.
work seems to be really understanding and wont let me do anything even slightly "risky" which I suppose is a good thing. no mention of anyone covering me when im off due to lots of redundancies across the company. hoping im safe as I've already announced my news

ZingSweetApple · 06/02/2014 16:44

phew, that's a relief!Thanks

tell baby to stop scaring you. they actually listen at that age!Wink

coco808 · 06/02/2014 17:44

so glad everything is ok mummy Smile

icklekid · 06/02/2014 18:25

Phew mummy glad all is ok.

ismarah what pushchair is it?

Got dh to paint nursery yesterday so hopefully that will be decorated by the weekend then can get furniture the following weekend. One advantage of a bad back not having to do it all myself over half term!

liquidstate · 06/02/2014 19:25

Glad to hear all ok mummy

All these nursery decorators are making me Envy...

Before we can do the nursery (currently used as my office), we have to insert wardrobes and storage into the alcoves in the nursery/office and the spare room, rip out and replace the bathroom, build a new office set for me in the spare room, decorate spare room, decorate hall, decorate nursery and finally get carpet for the stairs and bedrooms.

Highlight of today was trying to find a way to my nearest town (am in a village and everywhere flooded) to buy a support belt for my back/hips/bump and buying paint samples for the bathroom.

ismarah · 06/02/2014 19:25

I was looking at the Baby Jogger City Elite. Also saw the City Versa, the Bugaboo Donkey and some others I can't remember the names of. The Donkey was a snip (!) at a mere £859..

The Elite I think was the winner, provided it's not too big. (Although I will never buy anything from that shop as the owner leaves her dog in the car outside. Clearly showing my bleedin heart liberalism here...oh well)

ZingSweetApple · 06/02/2014 19:45

feeling sick again.ffs!Angry

Plateofcrumbs · 06/02/2014 19:48

Glad all is well mummy

zing I'm also feeling sick today. Also mad as he'll with DH as the in laws are coming to stay tonight and he's gone to the gym on the way home from work whilst I've rushed home to tidy and prepare dinner that I don't want to eat as I feel sick

MrsA2 · 06/02/2014 19:54

Just popping on to say I'm glad all is well mummy

icklekid · 06/02/2014 20:34

So maternity jeans over or under bump? Currently thinking over so no need to have long tops layering all the time?

LaDay · 06/02/2014 20:38

Hi chaps, sorry to hear there is still some sickness/scares around our team, get well soon all!

DS has his heart reassessed tomorrow morning, please keep fingers crossed for me, am pretty worried and DH is away in France till Monday so facing this without him :-(

On the more positive side, MILs cancer op went so well on Monday she has been allowed home. First op in a long treatment journey but all hopeful at this point, and celebrating a good start...

We have a moving date! First week in AprilI have my finals the same week unfortunately, but at least they are on the Monday and we won't move till the Thurs. That's enough time to pack and sort, right?! ;-)

ZingSweetApple · 06/02/2014 21:02

ickle

I prefer over bump jeans - as even in warm weather I find my belly gets cold.

plus when you sit /bend down the fabric can cut into your tummy - I always planned to wear maternity clothes post-natal too, should you end up with a C-sections you will not be able wear under bumps!

ZingSweetApple · 06/02/2014 21:04

LaDay

excellent news about your MIL, plenty of time to pack (and throw away stuff!) and all my fingers and toes are crossed for your DS!
anything with heart or brain would be bloody scary, but he will be in good hands - great job it was caught in time.

x

mummytobejuly2014 · 06/02/2014 21:38

thinking about you for tomorrow LaDay

icklekid · 06/02/2014 22:31

laday gosh what a lot to be dealing with :-( hope it all goes ok

zing thanks that is really useful can shop away tomorrow...

So I'm lying in bed having been sick, still feeling sick and with awful heart burn :-( urgh is all I can say!

Plateofcrumbs · 06/02/2014 23:13

Flippin'eck laDay that's a lot you've got on your plate. Hope it's the best possible news for DS.

As for packing - paying for a packing service when we moved was worth every penny. We literally did not pack a single thing and were still living as normal until about 30 hours before we moved out. I can't remember exactly how much it cost, a few hundred?

NancyinCali · 07/02/2014 04:29

LaDay thinking of you for tomorrow!
And yes, seconding Plate, when we moved out here we had a packing service and it was brilliant. When we move again (whether back home or to somewhere else here) I would definitely do it again.

Was a good girl yesterday and did a workout while DD napped. Then ate chocolate Grin. Will try and do one every other day and then my yoga class once a week.

ZingSweetApple · 07/02/2014 06:37

LaDay

thinking of you and LaBoy - as I've just said a little prayer for both of you.
big hugs, try & keep calm

icklekid · 07/02/2014 07:06

Oh nancy thanks for that link may give that a go later.

We didn't get a packing service but only because I was off work over summer and we moved in September so I had plenty of time then we lived in boxes for ages! If I was pregnant or timing was different there would be no discussion!

Woken up with the same heart burn this is horrible :-( although at least dh apologised forbover reacting about a spot of blood on the pillow case after my awful nose bleed last night. Not sure how to prepare him for labour and generally having a child...that's going to seem very inconsequential!

icklekid · 07/02/2014 07:36

Sorry to post again but just read this that a friend shared and thought it might help others- is light hearted but made me feel a bit more relaxed! www.pregnantchicken.com/pregnant-chicken-blog/2010/5/4/what-you-need-to-know-about-newborns.html

BlueC2 · 07/02/2014 07:51

Morning all.

laday thinking of you todat with DS. Glad all went well with MIL op.

mummy they do like to keep us on our toes :) sorry you have the worry to go with it though.

Hoping all those with sickness still feel better v soon. I seem to have odd days of feeling nauseous again and sometimes the (now increasing amount) of heartburn can set it off. Will be off to docs for prescription gaviscon next week I think!

Thanks for all your kind thoughts re my work-i got a call yesterday and have a day or so worth to do now and hopefully another 3 days next week-it seems to be a 'hang in there and pray hard' situation though I've felt quite down about it this week.

DS seems to have dropped his morning feed this week so that just leaves the bedtime one now-wonder if that will go too before baby arrives?

Re nursery planning we need to clear my office out of the spare room and move DS in there and then baby will go in the nursery. I'm planning to move DS's accessories with him for some feeling of consistency and so I can try to justify buying a few new things for baby :)

Plateofcrumbs · 07/02/2014 08:04

I've been doing that 10 min Pilates too - although my intentions to do a little bit every day have totally failed so far - I just blitz through all five on the weekend. Might give a pregnancy yoga session a go this weekend but I feel a bit 'fraudulent' as I don't feel pregnant enough yet. Also worried it'll be a bit too light and fluffy. I like that Pilates YouTube as it does still feel like a proper workout.

liquidstate · 07/02/2014 09:25

I havent been exercising at all. Am going to be the size of a house by the time baby comes!
