Didn't see one started, as our last thread looks full. Let's hope we are all kicking the early pregnancy sickness and starting to glow :)

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Oh lordy! have been having shooting pains in the pubic area for a couple of weeks which I put down to the growing uterus. Just jokingly asked my cousin and she thinks I may be developing SPD. I am recovering from a back injury caused by a car accident so it could be right. I will have to go to the doctors and see what they say. She has been diagnosed and had been told when she gives birth next month she has to give birth on all fours.

I could really do without this as well as the vomiting. Sad

elliejjtiny · 27/01/2014 22:12

Lovely news mrsB, boys are great. I got a free 3d scan with DS4 as he had a cleft lip and the pictures are amazing.

LaDay that sounds really scary. My older 2 have had chicken pox, not too badly but went on for ages and DS2 started with it on the day DS1's last spot scabbed over so we were stuck at home for 4 weeks. Keep asking if there are any cancellations for midwife appointments. I had to cancel my 40 week appointment with DS3 and my 36 week appointment with DS4 as I'd had the baby already.

ickle that sounds painful.

Zing That's lovely. Hope I get a positive reaction when we finally spill the beans.

Had DS2 at home with a tummy bug today. Fingers crossed it's just a 24 hour thing, dealing with my own puke is bad enough.

jaykay987 · 27/01/2014 22:31

Congrats mrsb!!! How exciting!

We're not finding out.....but I think it's going to be blue. I had my FX for a pink one....but we will see. I'm currently focused on seeing a healthy baby at my 20w. Two weeks to go!

Plateofcrumbs · 28/01/2014 06:46

Congratulations MrsB! And LaDay hope your DS is feeling better very soon, what a stress.

I just realised yesterday I managed to walk up stairs a few times without having to stop at the top to do my cat-with-furball dry heaving. Could it be that morning sickness is finally on the way out?

BlueC2 · 28/01/2014 07:22

Morning all. laday so sorry to hear about your DS and MIL these things do seem to come at once!

Yeah for sickness starting to lift for some - not here yet though I do have an inkling of some energy returning despite being sick sat/sun/Mon! Now 16+3 according to scan or 16 dead on by my dates.

Wishing you all a good day!

icklekid · 28/01/2014 07:47

liquid I can totally understand back pain and vomiting is just too much. I could cope with one but this morning coping with both was hell. Only just stopped crying and come back to bed :-( why did I never imagine pregnancy would be like this?!!

plate hope ms is ending for you.

Lots of people have told me 18 weeks so fingers crossed only week and a half left- in all honesty though I have given up expecting this to change!

ZingSweetApple · 28/01/2014 07:47

MrsB

yay for a boy! Smile

Maggie

I've started to feel uncomfortable if sitting then leaning forward or bending down.
I think if you are sitting for prolonged periods then your tummy get uneasy/painful it's probably nothing, the muscles & ligaments relax (imagine melting icecream) then you get up and everything is "jerked back" to place it can cause discomfort.

probably best to ask MW or GP if it gets worse.

and if your tummy gets "heavy" suddenly a support belt is a good idea.

hth

ZingSweetApple · 28/01/2014 07:53

ickle and others feeling sick etc - sorry you are so unwell!

Here we have DS2 with tonsillitis and DS4 D&V last night so back to GP's.

Plus I had a shit night, very disturbed because of a stupid, upsetting dream.
MIL is going to have the two little rascals (DS5 & DD) most of today and tomorrow so at least I can either rest or get stuff done.

ZingSweetApple · 28/01/2014 08:32

I'm boiling with rage.
he has a bad headache and just been sick again - when he sits up or stands up both get worse, so bad he cries.

so called GP to arrange home visit - they refused!Angry
"oh just bring him and give him a box to hold"
well I absolutely refuse to drag a crying sick kid to the doctor's - wtaf?
I'm strict but I'm not cruel.
I said that as we pay our taxes I expect a proper service which includes the odd home visit - we are not living in a 3rd world countrt after all.
I told them I was pg and would probably be sick too - do they really want two people puking all over the surgery? (but that's beside the point)

I'm furious.
(very likely BU, but still. ffs!)

rant over

icklekid · 28/01/2014 09:28

Oh zing that sounds awful :-( don't think it's at all unreasonable hope he starts to feel better soon

elliejjtiny · 28/01/2014 09:52

zing was it the receptionist who said that? If so, ask them for a telephone appointment with the dr and then ask the dr for a home visit.

ZingSweetApple · 28/01/2014 10:54

Thanks, receptionist said dr will call back - nothing so far.

tbh it's probably just a virus, but he also has a sore throat so I'm jumpy that he's got tonsillitis as well.

if they won't see him today I'll take him tomorrow.

AuntieMaggie · 28/01/2014 12:10

zing thank you :) I really hope your little ones are better soon

liquidstate · 28/01/2014 12:15

Oh zing hope things get better. Can't believe they refused a home visit! furious on your behalf.

AuntieMaggie · 28/01/2014 12:33

I am in a shitty mood - I wish journalists would feck off and stop writing bullshit about things they know nothing about and stop people writing nasty comments in response! No it wasn't because of her hair so stop minimising serious mental health issues by saying it was! Angry Seriously if they put as much effort into helping people recognise the signs in themselves and others then I wouldn't have lost two people in less than six months to suicide last year.

liquidstate · 28/01/2014 12:58

Oh maggie, did you know the girl in the papers? She was very beautiful.

dramajustfollowsme · 28/01/2014 15:24

I've taken today off. I'm knackered and breathless and just feel shitty. I've booked in with the asthma clinic. I've got an appt this week to check out why I'm so thirsty.
I've done absolutely nothing today. I'll pick up dd from nursery and return to the sofa.

icklekid · 28/01/2014 15:41

drama if it helps I am just as helpless and done nothing. Hope the asthma clinic helps and you can feel better soon.

zing did the doctor ring you back? Hope you got your home visit.

auntie my sister works with woman's refuge charity and gets so rightly angry when the media
portray abuse as unimportant. Can totally relate.

HomeIsWhereTheGinIs · 28/01/2014 16:58

Welcome to the boy club MrsB! Osh Kosh have some lovely boys clothes that aren't the traditional "navy stripe" you see everywhere.

Ickle I agree with you about the Doppler. There have been cases where women have reassured themselves with a Doppler at home and so not gone to hospital when they should have because the baby was moving less, with tragic consequences. The heartbeat is one of the last things to register distress in some cases. My consultant said they shouldn't be used as anything other than party tricks, that he'd support the idea of making them illegal, and that he'd really recommend not getting one. Worrying, to say the least.

Can I ask if anyone has any ideas on nappy bags yet? I've put up a post in re pregnancy forum but an undecided. Ladies that have gone before me, what did you use? An insert into your normal bag or a specific nappy bag?

AuntieMaggie · 28/01/2014 17:35

liquid yes I did and the media coverage of this today has caused a lot of unnecessary grief and upset.

ickle they are constantly writing wrong information about my area of work and it really angers me that they can get away with writing so much crap.

MrsB2013 · 28/01/2014 18:58

Zing I hope your boys get better soon and you get to see the doctor!

HomeIs Thanks i'll have a look at that! I've been looking at bags, I don't like the ones that match the prams, they look a bit bulky with not much room inside. I read on another group on here about a "Skip Hop" bag being good. I was thinking of getting a large Kipling bag, I do love those bags!!

Plateofcrumbs · 28/01/2014 19:05

Big hugs to all of you having a tough time of it at the moment.

Just had a heart-in-mouth moment as got a phone call from the hospital (inconveniently whilst I was sat on a packed commuter train). They'd said last time they'd only call if there was bad news...

...fortunately they lied and they called to say some more of my CVS results have come back clear - hooray! Still not totally out of the woods but we're slowly getting closer.

LemonLovely · 28/01/2014 20:34

Exciting about your boy, MrsB! I have 16-week scan tomorrow (really looking forward to seeing the twinnies again!) but am going to resist, if I can, finding out gender of both, as we've said we're going to try to hold out for surprise.

Have joined a group called TAMBA, for parents of multiples, and DH and I have a 2-hour class tomorrow night where we learn practical tips about what to do. I'm hoping the tip we get is one the comes at the end of a magic wand. Grin

icklekid · 28/01/2014 20:53

plate so glad it was good news anyway.

Seriously sickness and back pain is pushing me over the edge feel awful and at this rate going to have to get signed off work because can't see myself coping. Every time I think it might be getting better I feel doubly bad :-( right bed time...

ismarah · 29/01/2014 00:42

Spent today traipsing in London and being all presentable and stuff. Over 10k walked in total, according to my FitBit.

And tomorrow I get to do it all again! And Thursday too!! And Friday also!!! Bit knackered and overloaded now.

Someone did say I looked pregnant, not fat. #win
