Aw humpty i feel your pain.

i used a tens with ds but it didn't do much. I managed to give dh an electric shock with it which made everyone laugh. He was taking it off me because i asked him to, then i got a contraction and pressed the boost button while he was holding two of the pads. Whoops! How i laughed!!

i was gonna walk with ds to the dr, it's about a 40 min walk, but it's starting to rain so I'm going to get a taxi instead.

fryingpantoface · 03/01/2014 11:16

I don't think the weeping gets better. Although i had quite bad pnd after ds was born, but i was a wreck for ages

TobyLerone · 03/01/2014 11:26

I've only had a couple of incidents like that, Humpty and they scare DH every time because that's not how I behave. Mostly they're about my appearance. And one epic one when we were trying to decorate and I was totally hindered by my burnt leg and it really hurt and it was frustrating. Then DH had to help me shower and I was like a giant whale and couldn't get out of the bath and then I couldn't get my boots on over my bandages. And my skin is shit. So I cried like a big twat.

littleraysofsunshine · 03/01/2014 11:43

I'm 36+5, baby is fully engaged, but still back to back. I have horrible constipation and my Braxton hicks are all the time. (Had this with my dd1&2.) dd2 was unknown back to back at birth.

Labours were 5 days and 9 days overdue ...4hrs and 1hr. So goodness knows this time!

chocoloulou34 · 03/01/2014 11:46

I have a male midwife!!! How very modern lol. Bit wary of him seeing my bits and bobs but hey ho sure he's seen worse lol...

TobyLerone · 03/01/2014 12:15

My sister had a male mw at the WHH a few years ago. He was lovely.

AnotherStitchInTime · 03/01/2014 12:20

Glad you are there now choco. I had several lovely male midwives on my visits to labour ward in this last pregnancy. I don't think it matters so long as they support you, during my first labour I had an awful female midwife.

Naturegirl82 · 03/01/2014 12:35

Grr just tried to fit the car seat and in the process Dh knelt on the car baby mirror and cracked it. He then got arsey with me because I was annoyed! Hmph. What a waste of money going to have to order a new one now.

Glad they fitted you in choco. Hope it goes well

Yes he's very nice. Ive had the pessary in. Hurt like a bitch. Been told I could be here for days. Wonderful lol. Also got a male doc. They all change over at 8 2nite so hope I get someone nice later too

BookTart · 03/01/2014 12:42

I'm so glad you're in now choco - fingers crossed things move quickly for you.

fryingpantoface · 03/01/2014 12:51

Good luck choco!

i went to the midwife and because movements have decreased I'm to go to the antenatal day unit for monitoring. Probably nothing because the placenta is on the front, but still have to go in anyway.

i called dh to tell him but he was with a customer at work so he couldn't speak with me. His mom had called in to see him so i had to tell her and she panicked and made it all sound awful. So I'm heading into Bolton to drop ds off with my mil and dh will come with me to the hospital.

cant help but feel this is a bit of an over reaction

Naturegirl82 · 03/01/2014 12:53

Fx everything is ok frying better to get checked just to be safe.

Angelesque · 03/01/2014 12:58

Frying sure everything is okay but good to get checked - not overreacting, just being sensible! I also saw the midwife today and asked about the impact of an anterior placenta at this stage - think it's making it difficult to work out which way round the baby is facing!

MrsVDB · 03/01/2014 13:15

Good luck choco I'm a bit funny with men Midwifes too. Had a male scanner yesterday (think he was a trainee) and asked me to tuck the blue paper into my pants as think he was embarrassed to touch me ha ha.

Thanks toby any help welcome! I'm not keen on manicures either and see it as a chore, want to get my acrylics changed to shellac and also toes redone. I've now painted bedside tables and am sitting here in the fumes as the satin paint I bought is oil based for some annoying reason. But they look pretty so far. So much more important jobs to do but was itching to do them.

frying I had that the other week (also have ap) think its where he is now engaged so it feels different so hope the same for you too. Better to get checked :)

Angelesque · 03/01/2014 13:19

Also... has anyone else lost their appetite? Having eaten quite a lot over Christmas I've lost interest in eating... sitting at my desk thinking I should really go out and get some lunch but I just can't be bothered; I'm so tired and really don't fancy anything!

Frizz1986 · 03/01/2014 13:32

Yay choco hopefully your body is raring to go so the induction doesnt take too long.

frying am sure all will be fine but def best to check it out.

I feel very lucky that bubs arrived early after hearing all you guys. These last few days/weeks seem really bad and frustrating. Not sure I could stand the waiting around not knowing.

Any of you able to assist with a baby poop question from a novice......
Aurelia now has the lovely yellow BF poops, but has started to have some more running ones (that go everywhere in the nappy, but not sure if thats because no nappies fit her well) and some are mucousy!
I know BF poops tend to be runnier than other poops but not sure about the mucous. Could it be a sign of infection as she has a snuffly nose so i think she may have a cold.
Am going to mention it to the midwife later but just wondered. Not sure how you tell if its diarrhoea or not either. She is still doing better with her feeding but does a (what i would call) farty poop after/during each feed.

TarkaTheOtter · 03/01/2014 13:57

Check with midwife but sounds pretty normal to me frizz.

Felix90 · 03/01/2014 14:10

Good luck Choco, I'm glad they could fit you in! I had the drip and mw told me she expected me to be in for hours and hours but it was only around 6ish hours from having the drip inserted until Sylvie arrived, so fingers crossed its quick for you too Smile

Felix90 · 03/01/2014 14:11

Frizz we have the super runny poos too! Not sure about mucusy stuff though? Ask the midwife but I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Sylvie had a stuffy nose too but it seems to have cleared up after a few days.

BuntCadger · 03/01/2014 14:13

Frizz - check with mw. Bfeed nappies are generally like mustard yellow and not firm/hard at all. They can also go a while without pooing at all as their body using the milk and no wastage. If nappies are green then baby might be getting too much foremilk and being swapped boobs too soon. With all mine it was a boob per feed, then if after baby had dropped off to sleep and woke (even if quickly) I'd swap sides. If just a quick top up I'd go back to that side. A good website is kellymom and a fab book is your baby and child by Penelope leach xx

BuntCadger · 03/01/2014 14:19

Lol joining on the weeping rage ad it continues post birth too from remembering with other dc. My major one this week over a twatish guy on the phone from EE who wouldn't let me talk about my upgrade on our phone as husband main user (I am bloody authorised and I was right). Ended up sobbing and calling dh Blush

Felix90 · 03/01/2014 14:39

Bunt no one mentioned about the lack of poo thing to me (I thought they would at least tell you at my NCT bf session!) and I freaked out the other day as Sylvie hadn't done a poo for 3 days! MW then told me they can go up to 20 days without doing a poo! ShockShockShock

MrsVDB · 03/01/2014 15:14

20 days?? Wow. I assumed it was a few times a day

fryingpantoface · 03/01/2014 15:15

I'm still waiting to be seen. Not even hooked up to a monitor yet, just waiting.

it's a good job I'm not overly concerned about only having five movements in 27 hours!
