Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'm 38 weeks, so only a month if I go over. Which it feels like I will. But I could just be being pessimistic.

Love that link!

fryingpantoface · 02/01/2014 17:09

Have changed my Facebook status to the website

TobyLerone · 02/01/2014 17:11

Ah, ok. Mine doesn't have much time to be on time now, so I'll be joining you on the overdue bench.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 02/01/2014 17:36

littlealien I hope all is fine, probably nothing to worry about, but best to get checked.

toby that is genius!

No engagement here, according to mw, and she wasn't sure about lie/presentation, as the little bugger was hiding. Couldn't find heartbeat for ages, and kept moving away when she did.
Finally decided bean is still head down thank Christ, and not back to back. Oh, and she did bloods (was meant to go for appt, forgot, rebooked, but I think she decided I might forget again).

Walked home and had loads of cervix banging, BHs, period pains. Bloody little bugger is just messing with me now. S/he will regret this when they are 16, waiting to go somewhere important and I pay them back by mucking about.

MrsGSR · 02/01/2014 17:36

Attempted to post earlier but don't think it worked.

Congratulations to those who've had their little ones, and good luck for anyone being induced/having c-sections over the next few days!

Nothing here yet but only 38 weeks. We're currently travelling home after Christmas with our families, I'd rather not give birth in the m5 so I'm happy to wait for now!

AnotherStitchInTime · 02/01/2014 18:02

Good luck for your induction choco, bet it can't come soon enough now.

Angel breastmilk or saline softens mucus in the nasal passages to allow children and babies to breathe more easily with a cold. Babies breathe through their noses, so very important especially if they need to feed that their nose is clear. Breastmilk is super stuff as it contains immune factors which also help your baby fight off any micro organisms that have taken up residence in their nasal passages.

Glad you got checked and are ok little

sarah that sucks, I would have been tempted to go back in there once I felt baby's head drop.

humpty glad your midwife thinks baby is in a good position.

sarahleanne · 02/01/2014 18:38

Another- my husband did actually ring back up to tell them babies head had dropped for definite but she was fully booked with appointments from then onwards.

Toby- I was told by the mw that they won't sweep until heads engaged incase the cord falls through first?

Bouncing on my ball now eating thorntons chocolates and half a glass of red wine cus I'm a rebel and I'm fed up.

MrsVDB · 02/01/2014 18:55

frying I had a filling since being pregnant and that included a couple of mouth X-rays. Apparently they're pretty safe and localised so maybe double check?

How frustrating sarah enjoy the wine :)

littleraysofsunshine · 02/01/2014 19:08

Way too late to join! But I'm due 26.01.2014!

Angelesque · 02/01/2014 19:17

Another thanks for the info - will look for one of those baby plastic medicine syringes in advance - sure little one will pick up plenty of snuffles!

sunshine never too late to join! You're due two days before me, hooray! Welcome!

TobyLerone · 02/01/2014 19:38

sarah, they wouldn't break my waters until I was in hospital because of the risk of cord prolapse, but I definitely had sweeps with both. I suppose it's best to err on the side of caution if she's worried she might accidentally break your waters while she's doing the sweep.

TobyLerone · 02/01/2014 19:40

Hi sunshine :)

frying, I had a foot x-ray at 22 weeks and the technician said that they're considered safe if they're below the knee or above the sternum. But I expect there are some dentists who won't risk it.

fryingpantoface · 02/01/2014 20:19

Typical, my wonderfully kind dentist is uber concerned with not giving xrays while someone is pregnant.

i dunno what he would do tbh, it's not the tooth, it's the gum. Dh and ds have check ups next week so I'll ask then. It's ds's first one! It's a dull ache at the minute.

welcome littleray

angel you get the medicine syringes with calpol and nurofen for kids. Otherwise just ask at Boots, the pharmacy people have given me them before with no bother.

ds has been adorable this evening. He lifted my top and said "come out Henry!" and then put my top down and said that Henry was hiding. He's a cutie that kid

AnotherStitchInTime · 02/01/2014 20:38

Aw frying your ds sounds cute :)

Dd2 seems to swing between being lovely and gently stroking Mason's head saying "ah baby" and then sharing her toys in a rather over enthusiastic way. She tried to jump her plastic giraffe on his head the other day. He now goes in his rocker inside the playpen during the day just in case.

angel they also do nasal bulb syringes in chemists for sucking out mucus, I am hard core and just do it myself, bleurgh. I just hand express a few drops of breastmilk into each nose, no need to pump express as so little is required. You can hand express and collect the drops into a syringe too if you find that easier.

Naturegirl82 · 02/01/2014 20:38

Urgh just tried a RLT, I am most definitely not a fan. Will just try taking the capsules from now on.

OP posts:
fryingpantoface · 02/01/2014 20:51

Another - that gives me some peace of mind. Ds is lovely with other babies and children but i worry about how it will be when the baby doesn't go home!

happily we too have a playpen. I've not taken rl tablets in ages. Keep forgetting. Will get on that. The tablets are more potent than the tea anyway

Frizz1986 · 02/01/2014 21:09

Good luck choco for tomorrow. Although hope you go into labour overnight instead of getting induced.

another do you just squirt breast milk up their nose? Aurelia has a snuffle (don't think its causing the feeding issues but its a pain noise wise)

Frizz1986 · 02/01/2014 21:10

Oh and welcome littleray Never too late to join us lot!

fryingpantoface · 02/01/2014 21:21

Since my last post tooth ache has ramped up! That's twice now in a month I've been in agony over ny teeth! Bloody pregnancy is ruining them.

so will have to call dentist tomorrow anyway. Then the dentist will say "probably an infection, here is some tablets which will give you thrush" well, not exactly those words

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 02/01/2014 21:23

Aw, cuteness! I love 'come out Henry'! And giraffes are awesome, so can sympathise with the desire to share!

I don't mind the RLT so much, but it gives me heartburn. So does everything else though...

Spicy chicken and pineapple curry for dinner, and I have molten lava at the back of my throat.

Oh, and thrush. And a pile, I think.

Going to have an oily bath (did I mention the itchiness?)

Welcome littleray!

AnotherStitchInTime · 02/01/2014 21:55

Welcome littleray :)

frizz yes just hold your nipple near their nostril and squeeze a few drops in. It worked for the post c-section snuffle that my three all had. A cup of water or damp towel on the radiator helps too by increasing humidity in the air, with central heating on a lot in winter the air can get very dry.

frying tooth pain is horrible :(

humpty late pregnancy is just so uncomfortable on many levels, the things we go through!

Post-birth is not so glam either. I really want a bath, but still not allowed due to steri strips holding scar together, I have to wee whilst pouring warm water and prune juice is my new best friend.

BuntCadger · 02/01/2014 22:16

Can I ask if anyone else felt or feels like their body is on edge. I can't put my finger on it but I can't seem to relax, like all senses are tingling. It's blinking annoying. I'm not feeling emotionally on edge as much as physically.

Frizz1986 · 02/01/2014 22:44

another I hear you.
Post birth leakage plus due to tear lots of aching and bruising in the nether regions and lactoluse is my friend!
Actually checked out my stitches the other day and was not horrified by them. It all looks rather neat. Now to make sure I do my pelvic floors so I don't pee or poop myself and we could be onto a winner!

Breast squirtage complete. Let's see if it helps.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 03/01/2014 00:37

another we are the epitome of glamour, us.

bunt I'm a bit restless, very itchy, can't settle. Is that what you mean? I'm not v patient at the best of times though, could just be that.

itsonlyapapermoon · 03/01/2014 00:44

Hi ladies, I'm due today! Got a ph call this morning saying a blood test I had yesterday came back abnormal and pointed to pre-eclampsia. Have had to come in for monitoring so hubby and I are just waiting for results now.
