Not quiet, just feeling meh. Ctx stopped overnight, but hips and pelvis now v sore, almost to the point of not being able to walk. Certainly need something to hang onto to get around. Also feel v sick. Bleurgh.

MrsVDB · 12/01/2014 11:09

humpty I'm with you on feeling meh!

BuntCadger · 12/01/2014 11:40

Well I'm sat in hospital now but not in labour or baby related. got really bad cramp in calf on Thursday night and still sore on my leg and they are checking me for dvt. thankfully it's looking unlikely but waiting on blood test and some medicine and scan tomorrow on leg. Edd is tomorrow too

BuntCadger · 12/01/2014 11:41

joining the meh bus

TarkaTheOtter · 12/01/2014 12:34

Oh bunt that's rubbish!

I'm feeling a bit guilty as we have taken Alex (and dd) to macdonalds.

BuntCadger · 12/01/2014 12:58

Dr just reviewed and he thinks it is likely dvt after all Sad

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 12/01/2014 13:04

Poor bunt sounds grim. Will they have to induce?

MrsV it's weird! I was so upbeat yesterday, today I want to hide and not talk to anyone. Feel really sick, have had a bit of plain mash for lunch as hungry, but really didn't want it. Feels like first tri over again. May have to break out the cold melon and grapes cure! Hope you feel better soon.

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 12/01/2014 13:54

MyThree I'm 20th, so 39 weeks tomorrow I think. I've lost track a bit! Thank god for my phone app. Here, I can book a sweep for whenever I want (but have to be favorable obviously.) She actually offered to break my water for me so we could 'get this baby out by lunchtime!' Err, no thanks!

Maybe I'll try some twiddling too. Although DD is back to nursery tomorrow and DH has a days holiday booked, so he is keen for a day of tea drinking and xbox. Priorities.

Bunt that's rubbish - what happens now? Hope you're ok.

Bluecarrot · 12/01/2014 13:54

purple you need to be careful with back massage in case it puts you into labour Wink but do make sure they are licenced etc for your safety.

I'm now looking into Bowen therapy, per doula recommendation, to see if there's a misalignment in my pelvis stopping baby from dropping. I'm 1cm long and 2cm dilated ( up from 3cm long, 1cm dilated 6 days ago) but my chubby cherub is refusing to engage ( sitting at -4.. That is 0% engaged!)

Bluecarrot · 12/01/2014 13:56

bunt thinking about you. Ask if there's any therapies you can get in the hospital to alleviate symptoms - some places have reflexologists etc that might be able to help?

BandontheFun · 12/01/2014 13:58

Just checking in! Hello newbies!

Nothing to report here no pain, no waters, nothing, nada, zilch! 40+6 now!

Humpty nausea sucks, hopefully you start to feel a bit better.

Bunt hope everything's ok and you get sorted quickly!

Hope all you new mummy's are doing well! :)

Bluecarrot · 12/01/2014 14:00

Just googled and nhs site says injections should give temp resolution. Drink plenty water and stay active ( even wiggling your feet if bed bound for now)

enjoyingscience · 12/01/2014 14:40

Blue I was 4/5th palpable 24hr before having this one, so it may not be a problem :)

Sorry about the dvt mrs :(

flyawayblue · 12/01/2014 15:34

bunt doesn't sound good, is it something they can keep an eye on until you give birth or will they look to move things along? Glad you are in any way as right place for them to look after you.

humpty sorry you feel rough. Hopefully a sign that things are moving along though, or at least I've read it can be.

Had a lovely day yesterday playing board games, eating food and chatting with dh and friends. Woke early this morning and went with dh to help him clear his desk at his old job, he's using leave and paternity to have almost a month off before starting his new job mid February. Just need her to make her appearance Smile

BuntCadger · 12/01/2014 15:42

Been given 70mg clexane in my tummy, got scan tomorrow morning to check vein as that dept closed on Sundays. I was given a letter that says they've dx dvt. still hoping that it's just bruising or baby pushing against vein. If it is dvt I have to have regular injections for min 3 months. can't have epidural within 24 hours of last injection so hoping baby doesn't flip back to back like my first 2. If I need cs will be under GA so again hoping for easy labour and birth. I'm a bit stunned tbh as only went as precautionary and expected them to tell me I was fine etc. sorry to go on just scary. Dr told me PE is main cause of maternal death in UK. The medicine should help tho. surprised they didn't give me a stocking but I guess if it is from scan tomorrow they'll give me one then. I'm glad I went to zoo yesterday and did all that walking/hobbling/waddling. sorry a mememe post.

GummiBear74 · 12/01/2014 16:33

Oh bunt, that sounds awful. Hope the scan tomorrow shows that it was nothing to worry about. I was self-injecting clexane for the first 3 months of this pregnancy and the bruises were really not pretty Sad

ASmidgeofMidge · 12/01/2014 16:42

Hi all. Bunt, sorry to hear about dvt dx. Will keep fingers crossed that scan shows otherwise tomorrow. Try not to worry about PE though; even if it is a dvt, the meds and dx should prevent any issues with it. Can you put letter with your mat notes?

Hello to other newbies like me, and congratulations to book! Am now 38+3 and getting majorly sick of this pregnancy lark! Suddenly feel v cumbersome-can't tie shoelaces and have got loads of household tasks I want to do but am too tired to do...

Am not sure if I've ever had BH, this time or with dd(6). Have had some stabbing pains either in my sides, low down, or in fanjo area, and lots of pooing, but nothing else, I don't think. Have extra mw appt at 39w ( more about monitoring blood pressure, which was high at last appt, and my mh, than anything else) but am wondering if I'll be offered a sweep or anything? At 38 w mw told me I was 2-3 5ths palpable ...

Bluecarrot · 12/01/2014 17:04

Oh! Great science! Might help if I could study upright more- so tired ATM and bouncing on ball hurts my back quite quickly.

Going for Bowen thing anyway- booked for Tuesday night. The therapists wife does reflexology so she's going to have a look at me as well. Would have gone tonight if they had had the space!

Frizz1986 · 12/01/2014 17:08

Oh bunt so sorry you are going through this. But really good that you went to get checked out and that you are being looked after. If thats the main cause of maternal death then its a good thing that they are sorting you out!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 12/01/2014 17:41

bunt so glad you did go in, even if the diagnosis is a bit scary. At least they (and you) know and can deal with it now.

Still feel meh, hips and pelvis sore and achy, feel sick, heartburn is back, don't want to talk to anyone and freezing cold! After a whole pg being too hot, it's kind of nice to want blankets, but I can't get warm. One ctx earlier, but a mild one. Loads of BHs though, and have done some bouncing in place of the long walk we'd planned (don't want to go out).

Hope everyone else feels brighter!

BookTart · 12/01/2014 17:59

Poor you bunt, I hope it all gets sorted for you.

band I wasn't engaged on Thursday at 3pm, my waters went at 8.45 the same evening and she was born the next morning - it could happen any time :)

I've got everything crossed that something happens for all the overdue people soon - I know how miserable it can be.

Felix90 · 12/01/2014 18:21

Bunt that sound awful. Hope you get sorted soon.

TobyLerone · 12/01/2014 18:29

I (well, Meredith!) was 3/5 palpable at 3cm. Her head didn't engage until I was fully dilated.

Nothing I read will stay in.
Boo to dvt, stop-start labour, being overdue and feeling sick.

Yay to new babies, therapies and board games.

GummiBear74 · 12/01/2014 18:49

Well! After feeling a bit sorry for myself, no BH or anything, I think my waters just went! In a big gush, so luckily I was in the kitchen and just had to mop the tiles. Embarrassingly, I have no sense of smell at the moment because of my cold (I fried garlic and chilli earlier and couldn't smell a thing), so had to ask DH to sniff a piece of kitchen roll that I'd used to soak up some of the liquid Blush

Triage told me to double check by lying on my side for 45 minutes, then walking around to see what happens. I've just started, so I'll let you know how it goes. Really excited!

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 12/01/2014 18:56

Wooooh, go Gummi!!! Fx it continues the right way.
