Go alex! And go aurelia! Good work, Jan babies!

Ctx about every 20-25 mins, not appallingly painful, but I have to stop cooking to breathe. Also I think I'm losing my plug.
Quite prepared for it to stop overnight, but it does feel like progress in the right direction!

Frizz1986 · 11/01/2014 20:04

Uber ctx and dilation thoughts for you humpty

sarahleanne · 11/01/2014 20:13

good news about alex being discharged tarka .
Everyone who has had babies already seems to be doing amazingly :)

humpty Fingers crossed things progress for you tonight.Try twiddling your nipples as it stimulates contractions haha, strange but true.

Well mw couldn't do the sweep yesterday AGAIN. I ended up being sent for a scan as she thought baby was breech (it wasn't , phew) but I was sent down to see a doctor in triage because my amniotic fluid levels are maaaajorly high. They cant see anything immediately wrong with baby but the doctor said they will need to put a tube up its nose and down the throat once its born to check for blockages, something to do with it possibly not being able to swallow the fluid and practice this in the womb so now I'm a teeny but worried but I think its more precautionary.
On the plus side, after having been told for weeks I'm going to have a big baby, it turns out it's mainly water and baby is estimated at 7lbs 14oz so we shall see (I know the scans can be hugely innacurate) .

Anyone had a scan weight estimate that turned out to be accurate?

enormouse · 11/01/2014 20:15

humpty fx for you.

Well done little aurelia.

I'm having some tightenings at the moment. Sort of period crampy type pains and bump going quite hard. I think they're most likely to be BHs but I'm not overly sure. Going to see how they progress tonight.

Must read back through the thread and see how you ladies and babies are doing. Sorry I've been away, been trying to get my essay finished and its almost ready for its send off tomorrow.

BuntCadger · 11/01/2014 20:19

hope it progresses for you humpty Smile

spent all day at zoo and the animals were odd around me to the point a young giraffe leaned over its enclosure and stuck it's head at me and let me smooth it and kept locking my hand. was amazing. No more regular Ctx tho

MistletoeBUTNOwine · 11/01/2014 20:24

I was lovelilies before nc
Good luck to everyone waiting for their babies!

Percypiglet · 11/01/2014 20:33

Phew, changing unit and cot are up and built from flat pack at noon today. Way too many gettings up and down from the floor. Have awful backache now and just had chill out in the bath as think I may be somewhat stiff tomorrow............
Humpty I hope this is it for you, you've waited long enough, fingers crossed.

TarkaTheOtter · 11/01/2014 20:42

sarah we had a growth scan at 36weeks which guessed Alex would be 7lb 3 at 38 weeks (they guessed his weight to be 6lb 3 at that point) and he was. Probably just coincidence though!

BuntCadger · 11/01/2014 21:06

Sarah, my growth scans were quite accurate with ds2 and dd but haven't had one this time at all. i reckon it'll be over 9lb tho

BuntCadger · 11/01/2014 21:08

dh gone out to get me a curry and funny movie (World's end). Gonna have a sneaky glass of rose too and maybe some naughty fun Wink love date night and it might get things going lol

flyawayblue · 11/01/2014 21:18

humpty hope things continue to progress for you and you get baby cuddles soon.

bunt sounds like you have a great night planned.

Very impressed by the baby weight gains, mad to think I only have a few weeks till that stage!

How are you all getting sweeps at 39 weeks? My hospital won't until 40+3 and I'm only 39+3 so booked in for next Friday. Will see what happens naturally before then and then hope the sweep is possible.

One of my due date buddies gave birth on Sunday last week, was dc2 but has still made me feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever..

littleraysofsunshine · 11/01/2014 23:00

My two girls were apparently both going to be no bigger than 7lb.

Dd1 - 8lb9oz 40+5
Dd2 - 8lb1.5oz 40+9

Had my scan with this one at 37 weeks and was 6lb13 then so not sure what it'll be at 40weeks? Or overdue?

What do you reckon?

Good luck to everyone Smile

Bluecarrot · 12/01/2014 01:20

Had a lovely massage earlier then great chat with a doula this evening ( sadly she is on call for someone else so I can't have her!) But she's given me a pep talk re saying no to induction again tomorrow plus s phone number for a Bowen ( bowan?) therapy guy to see if he thinks I have a twist or something in my pelvis causing DDs head to not engage. And if he thinks its all fine, he's also trained in reiki so might give that a go while I'm there. His wife does reflexology but has broken her foot so won't be able to help me! Quite looking forward to meeting them as they found like a fascinating couple :) almost hoping baby doesn't come before I get a chance to!

Bluecarrot · 12/01/2014 01:21

Good luck to anyone feeling twinges etc.

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 12/01/2014 07:03

Blue massage sounds amazing! I'd give anything to have someone do something for my throbbing back.

Just back from my 39 week check. 2cm dilated and almost fully effaced so she was able to get in and do a good sweep. She said she expects me to go into labour in the next 48hrs, otherwise I'm back in for another sweep Tuesday am. Had a bit of a show since the sweep but it's not a lot, and dark so I think that's fine.

Kind of nerve wracking to think it could be any time now, but I feel more prepared now.

Good luck everyone else feeling twinges! Hope to be joining the newborn snuggles gang soon.

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 12/01/2014 07:06

Percy we've been building and moving furniture a lot the past couple of weeks too, and all the up/down has me pretty much crippled. My lower back and hips are bad just now anyway but good grief. Hope you don't pay for it too much today!

MerryPops · 12/01/2014 08:54

sarah love your nipple twiddling comment, would have to do it when dh wasn't looking he'd piss his pants laughing otherwise! Hope everything works out ok for you.

Can't comment on growth scans etc I've just been told not to expect a big baby by mw, so guessing around 7lb mark?

Finished off nursery bits yesterday, really pleased with how it's turned out and I find myself just sitting in there amazed at where all the junk that used to live in there has gone!

A few more stabby fanjo pains than usual yesterday and really swollen ankles grrr. Couldn't find the stopper for my gym ball either which was annoying. Think I will be here til at least due date, no mw appt til then anyway so no early sweeps here.

Happy Sunday everyone, hope everyone waiting for baby gets some progress and all the babies already here carry on being lovely and getting chunkier.

TobyLerone · 12/01/2014 09:35

Humpty's quiet...

sarahleanne · 12/01/2014 09:57

Haha your welcome merry it does actually work though :) dh laughed at me too so don't worry.

Ok so a few accurate scans re . Birth weights then, well I will soon find out as being induced tomorrow and shitting it ahhhh.

Dh is really excited and doesn't understand how nerve racking it is for us women. He is currently cleaning out he car ready to bring baby home.
Good luck to anyone else being induced tomorrow, I think there's two of you but I'm rubbish with names , sorry!

Mythreeknights · 12/01/2014 09:57

Good luck only...if you are are already 2cm that is great!! I think you and I are also due date buddies (makes me feel better now that frying has had hers!). My mw hasn't even suggested a sweep, so I presume here they don't do it until 41 weeks. Can't believe I am nearly at 40 weeks...I have never been this pregnant in my life before.

Tmi alert, but starting to feel a little itchy down below...may be from constant night sweats and everything being damp down below over night...I.e. a yeast infection, but may also be group strep b which I have tested positive for in the past. Clearly if group strep b then a home birth is out of the question, but if thrush, then how do I treat it?? If I put a pessary in it will practically be ingested by my baby who is 3/5 engaged. Any alternative remedies suggested?

sarahleanne · 12/01/2014 09:58

Ps when I say nipple twiddling works, it made me get really strong contractions and then they stopped so it can be very frustrating :)

Mythreeknights · 12/01/2014 09:59

Following blues example I am going to book myself in for some reflexology tomorrow. BLISS

Mythreeknights · 12/01/2014 09:59

Sarah, did you twiddle for an hour or less? I tried the other day but didn't do anything and I just got bored!

Mythreeknights · 12/01/2014 10:01

enormouse just seen that you were having regular tightenings...any progress there? Great timing if you have just finished your essay!

sarahleanne · 12/01/2014 10:05

mythree I was getting period type pains so bounced on my ball and twiddled for about two hours :) I had contractions for about 4 bloody hours and then they stopped but they definitely got stronger. My friend did it and she did actually go into labour the same night , I think it depends on whether your bodies ready.
