book this is probably a bit late but yes, waters had a definite bleachy smell. Hope things move quickly for you!

bunt this is exciting! Hope things are progressing.

I am still getting annoyed at DH all the time flyaway and I gave birth last week. Resigning myself to just beong grumpy and can't blame hormones any more.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 09/01/2014 22:54

tarka good to know I have 8 more days of itching max (she says, MNetting from an E45 emollient oil bath)...

bunt fx for ctx continuing.

mythree when do you see GP? I have had new moles and old ones get bigger, think it's part of pg, but v understandable that you are concerned.

nature I haven't seen the labour ward, will ask to look around tomorrow and almost certainly be told they do tours on x day, come back then, which will be helpful when I am 41 wks tomorrow

Right. Am going to aim for some sleep tonight, and PMA tomorrow. C'mon Humpty, you can do this!

Bluecarrot · 09/01/2014 23:15

Interesting humpty and mythree as I noticed 2 new spot things, and a spot that I've had for as long as I can remember has got bigger. All are kinda tanned colour- not as dark as DPs moles, do not actually sure they are them... Only noticed yesterday but I'll also get them checked.

I've had a load of skin tags appear suddenly. Glowing pregnancy vibes maybe forgot to affect me?

BookTart · 09/01/2014 23:35

Ooh bunt, this all sounds promising :)

mythree and humpty I've grown loads of new moles and skin tags. I had assumed it was a pregnancy thing but will definitely get them checked once the baby is here. I'm not surprised you're worried though mythree, I hope your GP can reassure you tomorrow.

So, it was definitely my waters. Soaked two pads on the way to the MLU, then gushed all over the floor there too. Then they closed the MLU while we were in it due to staffing problems and we had to walk up to the labour ward where I lost even more water. No contractions though, just a bit of backache at the moment, so they've sent me home (in my very wet trousers!) Back in tomorrow for monitoring and then induction on Saturday morning if nothing happens by then.

I think I have successfully whinged/moaned the baby out Grin!

MrsVDB · 09/01/2014 23:36

Good luck tonight blue and bunt :)

MrsVDB · 09/01/2014 23:37

Sorry meant book :)

Frizz1986 · 10/01/2014 01:12

Yay book At least you are on your way now. But rubbish they had closed the mlu though and bet it was uncomfortable in the soggy trousers!

bunt Fx things keep going. Looks like you could have a squishy baby soon.

Felix90 · 10/01/2014 01:45

Book hoping things start moving for you now! I just worked out what fx means after weeks of wondering haha Grin

Thanks for the advice earlier everyone. I felt rubbish this morning but you all made me realise its normal!

OH is armed with a bottle and has sent me to bed and he's staying up with Sylvie tonight!!! I am so excited at potentially getting a decent nights sleep. We have swapped sides of the bed so he's next to the crib and everything Shock although I bet I wake up constantly regardless. Is it stupid that I feel guilty for him staying up whilst I sleep? Just got in to bed with my new sheets Grin so goodnight all!

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 10/01/2014 05:01

Morning all. I've also developed moles and skin tags aplenty. I'm not too worried but might get them checked after. Keeps asking DH if I've always had that mole under my left boob. His stock response of, 'uhhhh...' Totally fills me with confidence that he really knows my body after 10 years!

book what a pain! But at least things are happening for you. Fingers crossed you see some action today.

Felix hope you got a decent nights sleep last night.

Fly you can join my anxiety club if you like! It's annoying as I've been pretty much fine the whole way through, and now I'm at the final hurdle I'm suddenly really on edge. I don't think it's the thought of actual labour, as my last was fine. I think like you, it's more the thought of complications with the baby or me, as having an older daughter I feel like there's more at stake this time. Urgh. Just want her to get here and I can relax! (ha ha ha haaaaaa! Yeah. I know.)

Mac2014 · 10/01/2014 07:58

book my waters broke last night too about 10pm. Ended up at the MLU - had all the tests / checks & was sent home too. I also have an induction booked in at 8am on Sat. Today I will be going on long walks and bouncing on my birthing ball to try & bring on proper contractions - at the mo I'm with you on backache & a few every now & then. FX we can get it all started!

Waters breaking is v odd. Like a tampon flood really & then obvs looks different to normal wee. Cloudy lemonade w/ mucus plug bits (sorry if tmi - thought it might help as I had no idea!)

I've also developed extra moles and skin tags. I've had dodgy moles removed before that were in the early stages and a couple of the new ones have been a bit odd, but have had things checked and everything was ok. It's always worth getting them checked.

Hope all are well today.

BuntCadger · 10/01/2014 08:05

hoping that both of you with waters gone go into labour today. I'm still here & still getting Ctx but not really bad ones. think it may be v early labour. had bloody painful leg cramps at which I had one in calf on top of another.
awful dreams here about dh that he had been cheating Sad Sad

flyawayblue · 10/01/2014 08:27

Hope it all progresses well for you book, bunt and mac and thanks bunt for the disruption of waters.

book hope you weren't too uncomfortable coming home in wet trousers! Sounds like you were made to go round the houses a bit.

Glad to know I'm not the only anxious person, makes me feel a bit more normal. altered have also told dh that I'm likely to be hormonal or twitchy for quite a while after the birth so he doesn't think the birth means back to less mad wow Smile

Woke up loads last night and not been able to get back to sleep since 4, had planned a nice walk to a local park but lazing about on the sofa instead.

Angelesque · 10/01/2014 08:29

Good work on those of you whose waters have broken - can't wait to hear exciting baby news later today hopefully! crosses everything for you uncrossed legs as it's too bloody uncomfortable Grin

Bunt I had loads of DH cheating dreams in 2nd trimester - they were horrid. Bet you could really do without them as third tri hormones/Pregnarage on the scene!

Final q - I've been getting period pain type waves for about a week esp when I go to bed - how did you tell when they became early labour contractions?

flyawayblue · 10/01/2014 08:30

Ugh phones and replying doesn't work, obviously meant description of waters not disruption of waters.

Though if you know some way to disrupt and get this whole thing started I think you will become a millionaire Smile

BandontheFun · 10/01/2014 08:34

It's all go here!!

Book Mac and Bunt fingers crossed it progresses quickly.

Mac that's good to know about waters, least now I know what kinda to expect.

Hope you got a good nights sleep Felix

I have a mole that has got bigger but I'm assuming its just because its in my tummy and that's stretched. Prob get it checked out after. Also has some skin discolouration on my back at the start but it seems to have disappeared now.

No tours allowed for my labour ward just a really cringey video to watch online. It's so bad it's funny!

anotherbitofcake · 10/01/2014 08:45

Hello another newbie here. Bit late as well as I'm 12 days overdue!! Joining for a bit of moral support and to keep me sane. Going to hosp today so they can check baby ok and to plan possible induction (boo)
Have been really upset at prospect as wanted natural woo waterbirth but coming round to the idea that induction may not necessarily mean flat on back medicalisation. As long as he comes out ok I don't mind anymore (plus am going slightly mad at home, all crap food has gone and have watched all of Netflix)
So hello!!!

Frizz1986 · 10/01/2014 08:45

Yay mac it really is all go. Jan 10th could be the big day for a few people!

angel i cant help with the 'how do you know when its early labour' as clearly I didnt know! Only figured it out once my waters broke and then there was no denying I was in labour as the contractions were almighty painful. I must have been in active labour at that point though as 50mins later at the MLU i was already 6cm.

MrsVDB · 10/01/2014 08:46

Good luck mac the more descriptive the better for us with nothing happening yet :)

angel I get those too. Can be quite painful but I'm ignoring them burying my head in the sand as they're not regular yet

Slept terribly last night. Didn't help that dh was staying out for a work thing. Feel like crap today :(

MrsVDB · 10/01/2014 08:48

Good luck cake I'm surprised you haven't got a date already. I think my hospital policy is induce by day 12?

Mac2014 · 10/01/2014 09:17

Thanks ladies.

cake I'm the same - was aiming for a water birth but not likely now! I'm addicted to Damages on Netflix at the mo ... If you've not seen it already!

mrsvdb I forget where I am... The more descriptive the better on here Grin

TobyLerone · 10/01/2014 09:25

Exciting things happening! Good luck all of you who have been soaking floors across the UK :o

I still haven't caught up properly. And the mw just called and is coming at 11, so I suppose we ought to get up!

I promise I'll catch up soon. We've decided to call the baby Meredith, btw. She's adorable :)

AnotherStitchInTime · 10/01/2014 09:27

Ooh good luck book, bunt and mac hope things progress for you all soon.

Welcome cake, just so you know you can refuse induction and opt for daily monitoring instead, if you can stand the wait.

Hope you got some sleep felix :)

to everyone else, lovely sunshine here this morning, hope you have good days all round :)

I think strange growths of moles and skin tags are normal in pregnancy, I have had new ones appear every time I have been pregnant.

Just got up here after eventful night of feeding, pooing and vomiting from Mason followed by dd2 coming into our bed at 5.30am. Got to get in gear to go and get my blood tests done to check my iron levels, really hoping they are good so I don't have to take iron tablets anymore.

Naturegirl82 · 10/01/2014 09:40

Exciting news for everyone with waters breaking fx contractions start soon.

Lovely name toby we had that on our list for a while

Lazy day here, still in bed. Going to get up and take pooch on a long walk although she is quite comfortably snuggled on the bed with me so couldn't look less like she wants a walk

Hello to new people Smile

OP posts:
HumptyDumptyBumpty · 10/01/2014 09:42

Hello cake! Well done for making it to 12 days without going postal!

toby Meredith is a totally awesome name. Love it.

book, bunt, mac fx for you all today, down with inductions, up with natural births (if that's what you want, obvs...)

Now have those period cramps when lying down on either side, all night long (yayAngry). angel was it you who asked about them? I've had them for 6 days straight, and no show/waters. I think they're a gearing up thing. Sorry.

Mws today, am hoping beyond hope that they tell me things are happening, and offer a sweep. If they say my cervix is closed and unfavourable, I think I might weep. I'm also going to ask to see the labour ward so I can stop imagining the worst if it comes to induction.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 10/01/2014 09:44

Oh, and another I'm going to be an induction refuser! unless there's a medical need. I just don't want one!
Thank you for the reassuring reminder though, it helps. Hope all well with lovely Mason.

And felix hope you slept like a baby! A 6mo, sleeping through the night kind of baby, I mean. Grin
