Congratulations enjoying I take it the home birth wasn't planned?!

frying so glad things are moving along for you. Fingers crossed I'll be reading your birth announcement tomorrow morning!

enjoyingscience · 08/01/2014 02:54

Great news frying. Fingers crossed its all quick from here :)

Home birth was planned, just quicker than it should have been. Poor DP may never recover.

BandontheFun · 08/01/2014 03:31

Morning!

Wow Enjoying that all sounds pretty dramatic, but glad you are all ok! Can't believe your partner can actually say "I delivered my own baby"...that's some badge to rock! Congratulations. :)

Toby and Frying Good luck and hopefully its not much longer.

I didn't even think that I would have to make sure my clothes are suitable for nursing.

Frizz1986 · 08/01/2014 03:40

Mega congrats enjoying What a story having dp deliver the baby. Glad you are all well.

frying sounding good. Hope you get a place on delivery and that this next bit goes fast.

fryingpantoface · 08/01/2014 03:52

Eek enjoying! Congratulations!!

I'm in the delivery suite, which is actually lovely. Private room, en suite, dimmed lighting. Just need to be monitored the whole labour. Dh is on his way to me now and then they are going to burst the waters.

contractions every 4 mins or so, shouldn't need the drip.

Felix90 · 08/01/2014 04:10

Congrats enjoying! Your DP is very brave too Shock

Frying so glad you're in your own room on the delivery suite now. It makes such a difference. Fingers crossed you don't need the drip. Good luck!

alteredimages · 08/01/2014 05:09

Congratulations enjoying! That was quick! You and DP must be so proud. I can't imagine DH ever delivering a baby, let alone ours .

frying so glad the delivery suite is more relaxing. hope the relaxation techniques are helping and that theyve given you a load of painkillers Grin, or better yet, you already have a squishy baby in your arms.

choco your labour sounds like it was really hard. I was lucky that mine was short but it was long enough to rule out ever doing it again! I was super tired and stressed throughout labour and I do wonder if my refusal to engage mentally made it worse. I totally hear you about the screaming for an epidural and then having to push. I was a woman possessed and i was gpong to have that epidural for all the good it did five mins before delivery.

Toby, what news? Hope things have progressed and you are giving birth/ have already given birth.

Anyone heard from sultana? Hope she and Henry are well.

fryingpantoface · 08/01/2014 07:07

After a 15 min labour Henry Lee was born at 5:40 this morning weighing 7lb 7.

waters were broken at 4.25, i was 2cm. Conformed in labour at 5.25 as 6cm. Baby born rapidly quick. One tiny 2nd degree tear.

I'm in shock! Breastfeeding hasn't happened because I'm woozy with the adrenaline leaving

enormouse · 08/01/2014 08:00

Congratulations enjoying - sounds very dramatic and congratulations frying. So happy for you both. Xx

sarahleanne · 08/01/2014 08:04

Congrats to enjoying and frying. Well done both of you :)

Angelesque · 08/01/2014 08:08

Congratulations Enjoying and Frying! Well done ladies!! So pleased for both of you.

Anyone else still waiting to have their baby, or is it just me?!!

MrsGSR · 08/01/2014 08:08

Congratulations enjoying and frying!

MrsGSR · 08/01/2014 08:10

I'm still here Angel! Only 39 weeks but already impatient, no signs of anything happening anytime soon :(

MrsVDB · 08/01/2014 08:15

Congratulations enjoying this wasn't your first was it? What an experience!

Wow frying after all that waiting it moved so quickly! Congratulations. Lovely name, Henry is top of our list :)

Triage went fine last night. Bp was much lower at 126/78 but she took it over my elbow?! Bloods done and they said they'd call if a problem so assume all is fine. Got monitored and baby is fine. Monitor showed braxton hicks every 10 mins at 60 to 68. I couldn't feel them but then in my notes they've written they were mild contractions, is this just terminology?

Percypiglet · 08/01/2014 08:29

Congrats Frying and Enjoying , glad to hear healthy babies have arrived after all that.

Toby - hope to see your baby post next!

Angel I am still here - only 38 +4 so a way to go yet I think.

Frizz1986 · 08/01/2014 08:40

Yay frying Massive congrats

MrsVDB · 08/01/2014 08:44

humpty I have a feeling today may be your day! Good luck if I'm right :)

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 08/01/2014 08:45

CONGRATULATIONS! enjoying and frying!

frying god, that sounds like the short active labour was reward for a horrific early labour, you poor darling.

enjoying how cool! Well done both of you - you and your DP, on the catch! - sure you are now having gorgeous squishy cuddles.

choco Jesus love, that is hard. You are a trooper, but at least it's over and fingers crossed the kidney stones will be easy to deal with now!

toby any news? Hope you are okay.

MrsV no idea about terminology or BP cuff, but hope you are okay.

Shit night's sleep for me: from about 4, as last night, I get woken every 90 mins to two hours, with what feels like one gigantic contraction. It goes on as long as I can bear lying down and putting up with it (got to 6 mins), but the minute I get up and walk around, poof! Vanished. Had about three episodes last night. Now it's daylight, everything's stopped. So bored of it now. Had nothing all day yesterday, but the same last night. May have to become entirely nocturnal to get any sleep!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 08/01/2014 08:45

MrsV x post! Thank you, but I suspect not. Grrrrr....

BookTart · 08/01/2014 08:52

Congratulations enjoying and frying, and Wine to Mr Enjoying!

choco that sounds pretty terrible, I hope you are okay and that they can get on with fixing your kidney stones asap.

humpty I was expecting you to be next - fingers crossed things get moving soon.

angelesque, nope, you are not alone. I'm 40+2 today and have got the total arse with it :) Midwife tomorrow, so hopefully she'll be able to cheer me up. Will take myself shopping today for a bit of fresh air and spending.

Bluecarrot · 08/01/2014 09:04

I'm 40+3 today and don't think it'll be any time soon though hope I'm wrong! DP getting v impatient!

frying I'm so glad things went quickly in the end.

AnotherStitchInTime · 08/01/2014 09:05

Congratulations enjoying what a surprise that must have been, well done to you and your DH!

Yay frying so glad things progressed quickly once they started, hope you can get feeding going once you have caught your breath, congratulations.

humpty sounds like you might be next.

MrsV I thought bp should be done on your upper arm, on your elbow doesn't sound right.

choco what a hard time you had, hopefully you are recovering ok now and enjoying cuddles with Sebastian.

TobyLerone · 08/01/2014 09:08

Nothing yet! On drip, with epidural. Was only 3-4cm at 6am :(

I am shit at this. Will update properly when I can catch up and have proper signal (and something to report!)

Congrats to everyone who beat me to it! :o

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 08/01/2014 09:32

toby you're not as shit at it as I am. I don't even think the head is engaged, I def cannot feel my cervix, and yet I am having these bloody ctx. So there you go, you can't be totally shit! Hope things speed up for you soon.

blue how was your anniversary?
