congrats enjoying and frying.

im still here too angel 39+2 and no sign of anything yet.

GummiBear74 · 08/01/2014 10:25

Wow, these babies are coming thick and fast now! Congratulations and well done to everybody Thanks

angel, I'm still here too, just 39+1 today, so probably still a while to wait!

flyawayblue · 08/01/2014 10:29

Congratulations enjoying, sounds like things went well thigh quick. Hope your dp is over the shock Smile

frying glad the second stage was quicker for you, you needed it after your first!

I had a horrible night woke up every 90 mins to 2 hours with pain in my pelvis shooting down my legs, constant though so not contractions Sad Paracetamol didn't touch it and hot water bottle only helped a bit. Have a mw appointment at lunch time (late 38 week appointment as 39 weeks today) so will chat with the midwife. Thinking of asking for an internal to see if anything is happening though I fear not.

Good luck to everyone still waiting.

Humpty hope today is your day. I had a choice of Lewisham or kch though chose kch as know how to get their (!) otherwise I'd say I hope I see you later Smile

Naturegirl82 · 08/01/2014 10:53

Lots of exciting news over night. Congratulations frying and enjoying hope you are both over the shock and enjoying your little ones.

I was woken a few times by period type pain last night but I'm not hopeful this means anything.

I am still waiting too...38+6 today and am distracting myself from lack of labour by making bunting for the baby room.

Huge congrats frying enjoying and chocco...it's very exciting to hear all your stories and I hope those with horrendous labours recover emotionally and physically quickly. (Sorry about the split infinitive)

Mythreeknights · 08/01/2014 11:01

Has anyone else who is waiting also not had their mucus plug yet or is that just me?

Angelesque · 08/01/2014 11:02

No plug for me yet Mythree but only 37 + 1 so could be weeks yet I guess!

Felix90 · 08/01/2014 11:16

Congratulations frying!!!

Toothfairy78 · 08/01/2014 11:37

Wow! Congratulation to frying and enjoying and RESPECT to MrEnjoying! Well done!

Now FX and rooting for Tobyxxx

BuntCadger · 08/01/2014 11:42

I'm 39+2 now. got me this arvo and she's going to give me another sweep and hopefully again on Sunday or Monday if doesn't start things. The consultant recommended this. However I'm not going for induction unless overdue a fair bit. having said that I'm sat here getting some painful Ctx

Toothfairy78 · 08/01/2014 11:43

humpty FX for you too. Hopefully today is the day?

alteredimages · 08/01/2014 11:45

Congratulations frying! Flowers So glad the last bit was quick after all you'd been through. Hope you and Henry are having lovely snuggles and getting lots of rest. Has your DS met him yet?

Toby, watch out! As a few of us have learned recently, once things get going they can be really fast! Also, well done on the epidural Smile. Will be sending good quick labour thoughts your way.

Nour has been really sleepy again today and only waking for feeds every four hours. He hasn't quite regained his birth weight yet though he is close and I am so tired from the all night cluster feeds since my milk came in that I haven't been waking him every three hours. I am in serious danger of fallung asleep and drowning face down in my own milk. Glamorous. He is only taking one (admittedly engorged) breast before nodding off. Should I be waking him?

Also, am I just being dense or do we not have a post natal thread yet?

Hope all is well with everyone else, and sending birthing vibes to humpty and book and anyone else overdue.

TarkaTheOtter · 08/01/2014 12:18

altered I think there is a postnatal thread but it is just a stats thread until we're all done here. I only ever offered one side with dd. With this baby I am offering one side then changing nappy, then back on same side and only offering other side if he comes off awake. I wouldn't wake again to offer second side. I think the foremilk/hindmost thing isn't thought to be a big issue anymore - it's just only offering a certain amount of time per boob rather than following cues that isn't recommended.

Frizz1986 · 08/01/2014 12:28

altered i wouldn't worry about waking Nour if there is good weight gain and he is feeding well and emptying the huge boob!
I only woke Aurelia as she had lost too much weight and was still losing it. Plus the jaundice makes them very sleepy so they struggle to wake themselves so lose even more weight. She was only feeding for 5 mins on 1 boob before dropping off so never got the hindmilk to put on the weight.
Now I only wake her if she hasn't fed for almost 4 hrs.
She was gaining 40g a day when feeding every 2.5-3hrs for at least 15mins and I don't think she needs to continue the weight gain at that rate anymore so I can relax a bit.

toby sorry you have had to go on a drip but fx it all moves swiftly now and you can have squishy cuddles soon. Seems a lot of us have had it fairly speedy once things have got going so hopefully you are well on your way.

Bad night for me last night! Aurelia was waking every hour for some food but only fed for about 5 mins and then was really grouchy. Meant i didn't really get to sleep until 4am.
Managed to have a snooze once dh had left for work from 7 until 8 and I plan a nap this avo.
Was supposed to have hearing test this morning, but finally loaded aurelia in the car and got everything sorted and the car wouldn't start. Excellent! And i was supposed to be selling it to 'we buy any car' on sat but wont be able to if its a non starter (or i will get loads less for it now)
Its pants as had to leave a msg to cancel the app, will now need a new one arranged, plus the jaundice clinic is on tues at 10am at the hospital and i now have no way of getting to either of them. How do they expect new mums to get to all these appointments if they don't have transport. Will have to look at buses but think it will mean several changes which i am not quite ready for only 2 weeks pp.

I think the post natal group is just for stats so far until everyone has popped and can skooch over. Means we are all sticking together.

Frizz1986 · 08/01/2014 12:30

Oh and i only feed 1 boob per time as she tends to be able to get enough out to satisfy her. And then in the afternoon I sometimes empty them by expressing after her feed so we have a bottle or 2 for dh to feed in the eve (he likes the bonding time)

alteredimages · 08/01/2014 12:36

Thanks tarka. I think it's just the sudden switch from both sides every two hours to one every four that threw me. He must be getting more efficient. With DD we still hadn't properly established bf at this stage so I am very much a first timer with bfing a newborn.

How are you and baby doing now?

frizz that sounds really frustrating about the car and the sleep. I hope the car miraculously fixes itself and you get a good nap this afternoon.

TarkaTheOtter · 08/01/2014 12:48

We're doing well thanks! I took both of them out to mothers and toddlers group in our village today and it was pretty successful.
Alex is cluster feeding all night too. I'm trying to wake him every two/three hours in the day to encourage more day feeding but it's very tempting to just let him sleep. Because of the early top ups he never went below birth weight so I'd let him go as long as he wants at night but he feeds all the time anyway.

flyawayblue · 08/01/2014 13:40

Ugh just lost a huge post. Will try and remember what I was saying.

Good luck toby I hope your having baby cuddles.

I'm reading the feeding talk with interest and will try and remember things. Also in awe of the trips out and breastfeeding in public so soon.

I've just had what will be my last mw appointment which has left me a bit Shock. Mw didn't do an internal even though I asked and said there's nothing that can help / be done for the pain last night as nerve pain.

I do though have a sweep booked for 40 + 3 (17th), though she said I hope you go into spontaneous labour before that about 4 times which worried me a bit. Didn't think sweeps were that bad!

Naturegirl82 · 08/01/2014 13:57

Hmm so I've still got the period type pains, and what I think are bh (although more noticeable than normal, not painful just a bit uncomfortable). Also more pressure down below. Won't get my hopes up as may be reading too much into it. I've also not lost my plug.

Frizz that's annoying about the car. Hopefully it will start again. If not look to scrap it as you may get more for a non starter that way (and they will come pick it up).

AnotherStitchInTime · 08/01/2014 14:42

toby, really hope the syntocinon gets things going soon for you. Glad you have an epidural in.

frizz that sucks about the car, hope it is something simple like the battery.

altered I am also feeding one side a feed with Mason too and cluster feeding at night.

nature sounds as if your body is beginning to prepare itself for labour.

Tarka well done on venturing out to the toddler group :)

I had an eventful night too, dd2 woke at 3am and took half an hour to get back to sleep after DH changed her nappy and she ate a biscuit. Mason then woke every 45 mins to an hour to feed and poo in cycles. So tired this morning, but had to help DH get dd1 off to school and I had to go to the GP this morning, now going to nap in bed for a bit after my first bus journey out since the op.

TobyLerone · 08/01/2014 14:49

MissLerone is here! No name yet, but she was born at 11.37am, 32 hours after my waters broke, and weighed 6lb 10.5oz.

I'll update properly when we're home. Got to stay in overnight because they want to do obs on her as my waters broke over 24hrs ago.

flyawayblue · 08/01/2014 14:51

Huge congrats toby.
