Also, MrsV ta for the local info, v useful! May have to make use if it, if, as I suspect, the mw has fucked up the bloods.

TobyLerone · 07/01/2014 02:06

Morning, all!

I am super fucked off at being awake at 2am Angry

I'm having painful contractions every now and again, but with no pattern to them at all. Usually 10 mins-ish apart, but sometimes more, sometimes less. Frequent enough to keep me awake, but not frequent enough to be doing any good!
This is the 4th or 5th night of this, and it's getting a leeeeetle tiresome!
I learnt a new phrase from a different thread -- prodromal labour. It's basically what's happening here and it means nothing. Apparently some people have weeks of this Hmm

Stupid body.

fryingpantoface · 07/01/2014 02:12

If it helps toby I'm awake? It sounds rubbish though, I'm sorry!

I've had another internal as they took the pessary out. Turns out it was hanging out! For the third time. Sigh.

cervix is still back, but it's so soft and she can pull it forward easily, baby is at -2 station. It's crazy busy here tonight, one woman went from 2 to 8cm in 2 hours, someone else has appendicitis!

mw is lovely, she said i was the ideal patient (preens) so easy going. Ha ha. She gave me a really good sweep, which didn't hurt. She said it would have hurt most women, but i was unphased. Apparently the waters are beginning to bulge, so with any luck Bug will be here soon.

another twenty mins of monitoring to go and then i can sleep. I'm so very tired

Felix90 · 07/01/2014 02:24

Frying that sounds promising!! As if someone's got appendicitis ShockShockShock

Toby I'm awake too trying to get Sylvie to go to sleep (and failing miserably). It sounds so frustrating, I hope it's not too long for you now.

fryingpantoface · 07/01/2014 02:32

I hope so, my bishop's score is now a 6. Whatever that means.

since the sweep contractions, actually painful ones, not just pressure, have ramped up.

poor Sylvie, is she just not having any of it?

Felix90 · 07/01/2014 02:36

Sounds like you've been playing chess, not trying to squeeze a baby out!

She's been on and off the boob since 12.45 and won't settle. Luckily I had a mega nap from half 9 to half 12 so I'm not too tired, just bored!

TobyLerone · 07/01/2014 02:44

Morning, frying & felix!

Sending dilation vibes and sleep vibes to you both as appropriate :)

Frizz1986 · 07/01/2014 03:18

frying at least things are moving forward do not long until baby will be here.

toby Fx the pains are doing something and you just don't know it yet.

felix I have a lovely newborn feeding issue too so I feel ur frustration. Aurelia is up for her 3am feed but only took 10mins before falling asleep (the 10mins was on and off too) Really want at least 15mins a feed as weighing is tomorrow and at 2 weeks old I want her as close as poss to birth weight (mw said she won't make it due to losing over 10‰ in the first place) Am too tired to push for more at this feed tho.

TobyLerone · 07/01/2014 04:49

My waters broke an hour or so ago, so perhaps they were doing something!

Called labour ward. She said I can wait til DS gets up for school before I come in, so we're just sitting around bored atm.

CheerfulYank · 07/01/2014 05:04

Tjobes?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?

TobyLerone · 07/01/2014 05:07

Ha! Are you stalking me? :o

CheerfulYank · 07/01/2014 05:15

Oh wouldn't you like to think so! :o You were the first thing on "Last 15 Minutes". AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, etc, etc. SO HAPPY FOR YOU.

Erm, and all the rest of you January ladies as well.

TobyLerone · 07/01/2014 05:37

:o

Felix90 · 07/01/2014 06:02

Frizz it's frustrating when they fall asleep isn't it Hmm hope the weighing goes well!

Toby eeeeeeeeeeeek!!!!!!!! So exciting Grin

Naturegirl82 · 07/01/2014 06:24

blue was the birth group useful? There is one near me tomorrow that I was thinking of going to but I wasn't sure. Did your dp go with you?

I slept amazingly last night (sorry to those that didn't). Didn't get up once and the pooch slept through as well probably because of the stupidly expensive new blanket I bought her yesterday! So feeling mega refreshed and raring to go today. Maybe I'll even finish sorting the house!

Dh has had to go to work today but will come home if I need him so have to go for monitoring on my own. Feel pretty puffy today so not too hopeful but hope bp is back down

BookTart · 07/01/2014 09:38

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 07/01/2014 09:51

toby ooooh! So exciting! Good luck, hope everything goes fast and smoothly.

Prodromal labour, eh? I have had four nights on the trot where I get four or five v painful period type aches, which as best I can figure, are contractions. Then morning arrives and they stop. You have given me hope!

frizz as long as A is weighing enough not to have to have interventions, that's the main thing. You are doing brilliantly!

enjoyingscience · 07/01/2014 09:55

Hello, we finally have broadband! I've been lurking a bit, but my phone is too pants to post with. Congratulations on all the lovely babies and waving pom poms for ladies with popped waters and contractions! :) :) :)

39 weeks tomorrow here, and had a huge, gross bloody show last night. Seems to have gunked itself out now, so I'm wondering what on earth it meant. Hoping not a lot, as we could do with another couple of days to deal with plumbers and builders as we now live in the leakiest house in the world, and the shower is broken.

BandontheFun · 07/01/2014 10:02

Wow good luck Toby I am also rather jealous!

Still nothing here, think the baby is in for the long haul. Have a midwife appointment tomorrow so hopefully she will book me in to be induced, so I at least have something to focus on.
