Yay frying Its sounding good.

Good luck blue

sarahleanne · 06/01/2014 11:27

Good luck frying and blue .
paper wow well done what an amazing weight ,
Congratulations .

Well second attempt at sweep was unsuccessful again because the head is free, bollocks!! And I even bounced on my ball before I went to the appointment.
Third attempt is on Friday and then I'm booked in for induction on Monday morning .

Naturegirl82 · 06/01/2014 11:32

Well I just got woken by the postman, oops. But yay as my sling has arrived. Feel awful though as I hate sleeping at the wrong times but best get used to it. Must now get dressed and head to the shops.

Good luck frying

Hope mrfrizz has a good day as do you and Aurelia frizz

frying sounds positive! Hope things move along soon for you.

blue best of luck today, will be thinking of you.

toby and nature I must have woken about every 45 mins for a wee last night. Never been this bad, and I didn't drink any more than usual!

frizz good luck today! Go easy on yourself, and I'm sure you will do fabulously.

Going shopping for anniversary present for DH today, it's our second wedding anniversary tomorrow: cotton. Got him a t shirt saying 'careful, or you'll end up in my novel' (he gave up City job to write a book), but want to get him something else, and he said he needs new jeans excitement unbounded so off we go. Going to try and cook a nice meal tomorrow night to make it a bit more special; if I can stand up without having to hold bump up, so sore and achy today.

Naturegirl82 · 06/01/2014 11:33

Good luck blue

Hey ladies,

Just sat on bed with Karen curled up asleep on my tummy having had her first bath and a feed. She was happy in the water but protested at being taken out.

Anyway, I have my fingers crossed for sarah and for blue. Hope it all goes your way. X

enormouse · 06/01/2014 12:23

What kind of sling is it nature? I've become a bit of a sling fiend. I now have a moby and an ergo.

tooth she sounds so cute.

humpty it's hard when they don't want or particularly need anything. Good luck on the shopping expedition.

And good luck to those having sweeps and inductions. And hellos to those who have their babies and hang in there to those of us still waiting.

Well Mr mouse has gone back to work today which is both good and bad. Bad, as toddlermouse is teething but to his credit he's been as good as gold despite coming up in a terrible rash from the dribble. Not the destructive whirlwind I was expecting in light of the teething and his two-ness.

Also bad as I've finally seen the extent of lack of housekeeping on Mr mouses part. It is really really bad. He used the vacuum to Hoover up a broken ketchup bottle so I had to take the Hoover apart and wash it out. The dishes need to go back in the washer as they haven't cleaned properly and he dishwashed a wooden serving board. He hasn't washed my breadmaker pan since using it ( 2 weeks ago). I did have a little cry and contemplated calling his mum and telling her she can have him in her home.

But it's good as I can get back to the little routine me and ds are used to and enforce some standards again. I've put on some bread and soup and retreated to the sofa. Ds is now reading to me from the gruffalo, having binned the wrappers from the cereal bars we ate. I am reassured there is hope for the next generation of men.

Naturegirl82 · 06/01/2014 12:29

I went for the je porte mon bebe stretchy as I liked the fact that you can use it with a back carry as well. Bit more expensive but I'm hoping I'll get the use out of it.

Good luck blue!

MrsVDB · 06/01/2014 13:16

Good luck blue

So my mw apt didn't go as planned. My bp has increased to 140/90 from 110/80 at booking in and has been lower inbetween. Also have trace protein and a bit swollen. I'm booked in to go for monitoring tomorrow morning and mw said they might keep me in or induce me! Said even if they don't she doubts they'll let me get to 40w. Is she overreacting? I'm really not ready yet

Frizz1986 · 06/01/2014 13:21

Ooo i am thinking of a sling thing. Took the pooch and bubs out for a small walk and its quite tricky with the pram. Feel a sling would be good but must research. Want one that dh could wear too (not too girly) and that could last. Might spend my xmas money on it.

That sucks sarahl Hope the sweep is a go on friday.

Naturegirl82 · 06/01/2014 13:28

Frizz see if there is a sling library near you. I knew I wanted a stretchy as had been to a sling meet but then looked into them to see which brand. They have loads at the sling meets and usually you can get a free consultation, and you can hire them to see if it suits you before spending out the cash for your own. Not all baby's like them though apparently but all the research that has been done shows baby's are much calmer and cry less if they are carried.

mrsv I hope your bp drops. Are you able to take it easy for a bit and leave the house renovation for a while? You sound like you have been mega busy and this could be your body's way to tell you to slow down.

I really need to get off my backside and go and order these curtains. I have literally done nothing this morning Sad

AnotherStitchInTime · 06/01/2014 13:32

frying 3 in 10 minutes is great, hope labour progresses and you get to meet your baby soon :)

Good luck blue, hope your induction goes well x

enormouse send him back to his mum for housekeeping boot camp, who hoovers up glass fgs!

tooth glad Karen enjoyed her bath. Mason still hasn't had a proper one due to his cold, dd1 can't wait to help :)

sarahleanne unfortunately second and third babies are less likely to engage until labour starts due to them having more space in the uterus and pelvis, very frustrating!

Good luck frizz and mrfrizz, it will be fine.

flyawayblue · 06/01/2014 13:36

Hope your bp calms down mrsv, agree it would be good to rest today if you are able.

I'm just out of monitoring as baby was naughty and worried me by not moving since last night. Lovely mau staff had me hocked up to a monitor and then when less movements than the midwife wanted had another 20 mins after drinking ice cold water, she then moved enough to reassure the mw. They told me to come back this evening if no further movements or tomorrow if still reduced. Was very worried I would be wasting their time.
She's moving a bit now but still not normal and my bump is almost constantly hard. Will relax in front of the tv with food as instructed and if still reduced go back tomorrow morning.

Off to catch up on the thread.

MrsVDB · 06/01/2014 13:37

nature unfortunately it's a bit catch 22 as I'm stressed about what needs doing still and the less time we have the more I need to do but yes I've probably been overdoing it the last couple of weeks

flowersfortea · 06/01/2014 13:42

Hi everyone,
now on mat leave (38 weeks tomorrow) but after a busy week of various visitors and DH having gone back to work, it's quite odd having a whole day to myself!
Busy morning - have made a big chicken soup and frozen it in portions, beef casserole in the oven heading for the same fate, and washed up and cleaned kitchen top to bottom after spraying (turmeric containing) soup everywhere in my attempt to blitz it. Now having lunch and think I'll put my feet up before getting on to the laundry and bedroom tidying later.

Sorry to hear about various AWOL partners/husbands. I just want to offer some hope - mine is being sweet and made sure last night that I have his work mobile, work email, and work switchboard contacts just in case I can't get through to his mobile. He also suggested I get stuck into a good book 'while you have the chance'! I'm still doing most of the housework cooking etc but whilst I'm able to do it I don't mind and he is doing the heavier stuff like hoovering.

AnotherStitchInTime · 06/01/2014 13:47

I have a Manduca frizz which is a soft structured carrier like an Ergo, which comes with an integral newborn support. DH likes this one.

I have used a Joy and Joe stretchy wrap (like Moby, but less expensive) for dd2 up to 7 months. Victoria Sling Lady also does less expensive ones too.

This time round I have a Wrapsody Stretch as it is a hybrid between stretchy and woven so will allow me to carry in it longer than a pure stretchy wrap.

I prefer stretchy wraps for fit, comfort and ease of breastfeeding in the early days, the Manduca is great when they get bigger and want to back carry. DH finds the stretchy one too fiddly.

AnotherStitchInTime · 06/01/2014 13:53

flyaway hope all remains well with baby, it sounds as if you might be ready to go into labour if they induce you anyway.

MrsV maybe your body is giving you a sign to slow down a little, you have been doing rather a lot.

TobyLerone · 06/01/2014 14:23

I think the others are right, MrsV. Slow down. What's the worst that can happen if you have the baby without skirting boards, or with the coving unpainted?

Felix90 · 06/01/2014 14:54

Frying good sign with the contractions! If they end up saying they want to break your waters, see if you can keep the pessary in until they actually do it. I was having regular contractions with the pessary and the midwife removed it saying they could break my waters but then the ward got very busy and I couldn't have it done until 1pm the next day, and because they removed the pessary my contractions stopped which was highly annoying!

Blue good luck!

Tooth, I'm glad Karen enjoyed the bath. Sylvie hated it yesterday and screamed the house down haha Grin

Frizz hope your first solo day is going ok? My OH goes back to work next week and I'm dreading it.

MrsV I agree with others, it's definitely a sign you should slow down a bit. I know it's easier said than done though. I get really stressed when something needs doing and I can't let it go until it's finished!

Re slings - I've done loads of research and decided on the ergo. Luckily my NCT class woman brought some slings in to try and she had an ergo and we both loved it! OH has some amazon vouchers from work we are going to use for it, but I have to keep pestering him to order it! Angry Had my last visit to the midwife today and Sylvie has gained half a lb in a week!!! I'm so impressed. She's almost back to her birth weight now (although I kind of wish she would stay this tiny forever as she's so sweet).

enormouse · 06/01/2014 14:59

I love those another, gorgeous colours - especially the amethyst. But I can't justify it till I see how baby does with the moby.

Good luck blue, I remember a while back you told me which hospital you were booked into. Is it the royal?

fly I hope your little one starts behaving itself.

MrsV I agree with Toby and another, as hard as it is to let things go - just stop. Let it be someone else's problem. Retire to the sofa, put your feet up, watch bad tv, go on mumsnet.

frizz my dp also prefers the babybjorn style structured carriers. Like the ergo or manduca. Generalising massively I think men find the wrap styles a little girly.

Grr dp would be perfect if I could iron out the housework niggles. Came back from work early (there's a flood risk so kids are being sent home early) and took ds to see his granny. Made me a cup of tea and put some DVD boxsets and biscuits within my reach. Told me to make a list of things to do and he'll come back and do them. If only his enthusiasm could be matched by thoroughness.

flyawayblue · 06/01/2014 16:04

She's wriggling when I eat chocolate but not any other time. Will keep an eye on it this evening and maybe go back tomorrow.
Have the valuers coming round tomorrow morning for the flat and we've been trying to get the mortgage sorted since September so not great timing!

For carriers we've gone with the moby and dh has tried it and seemed to like it though he still wants a BABYBJÃ?RN as well, might use vouchers from work to get one.

flyawayblue · 06/01/2014 16:06

Forgot to add good luck to frying and blue hope your inductions are going well.

littlealien01 · 06/01/2014 17:19

good luck to frying and blue.

on the sling subject does anyone have an ergo? i bought a kari me as a stretchy one based on reviews on here which seems ok but wont really know till i use it, and really want to get an ergo too but trying to justify the cost to myself. dh thinks its overkill with the pram and the kari me- what do you ladies think?

MrsVDB · 06/01/2014 17:19

I know your all right. I sat down earlier and have been asleep for last few hours. Oops! Ill just have to get baby into Bob the builder early!
