loopylou52 · 15/01/2014 19:12

I've been unsure about how the vaccine gets arranged too but have 25 week checkup with gp next week so will ask then.

Speaking of strange body things, I've developed freckles on my nipples. Hmm

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 15/01/2014 19:17

No worries Wink a lot of the 'regulars' on baby names have these set lists of baby names they approve of, and if you go against it, woe betide you Shock I got told I was stupid for choosing a Welsh name... when I live in Wales... and OH and I are both Welsh.... Hmm

I'm guessing midwife will mention vaccine at next appt... 28 weeks for me, 4th Feb :)

AppleCrumble1 · 15/01/2014 19:30

Hi lovely ladies! I've been trying to catch up on the thread & laughing hysterically at the hairy beast hair! This has cheered me up after an AWFUL day at work. 12 weeks till hols then mat leave & counting!! I'm dark haired & sure I have extra hair below my belly button!
Congrats on the engagements & the scan news.
Hairy hugs xx

ThistletoeAndWine · 15/01/2014 19:46

Yeh I was told the nurse at gp arranges the whooping cough.... So in one week anti d and whooping cough!! Lovely !!

ThistletoeAndWine · 15/01/2014 19:46

I also have hairy tummy and mini thistle is a boy

AppleCrumble1 · 15/01/2014 19:55

I'm sure ours is a boy though legs were together at 20 wk scan so can't be sure Wink
I'm going to have the whooping cough jab. Got midwife Fri so will ask her.

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 15/01/2014 20:03

I am so excited for the anti d injection

she says sarcastically

ThistletoeAndWine · 15/01/2014 20:38

Anti d is a sore injection!

NannyPlumForPM · 15/01/2014 20:38

Not really hairy here! Although be careful using hair dye cos I just properly burnt my head using the same dye I've been using for years! Same colour same pax me everything just had a bad reaction :(

mumof2aimingfor4 · 15/01/2014 20:40

Thank you and Thanks to nanny woop woop! [Wink]

Mateo is a great name our second boys name choice is Matthew after DH dad Mateus wich is how portugues spell it, Mateo is cool

mrsmummytobe · 15/01/2014 21:25

Thanks guys. I've got my 24 week gp appointment on mon so ill book the whooping cough jab for 28 weeks. I feel really dumb but what's this anti d injection?? Is it another thing I'm meant to be booking up? X

PotatoPolly · 15/01/2014 21:36

mrsmummy dont feel dumb! its an extra jab if your blood is rhesus negative to protect any future babies, I think its something to do with the body trying to 'fight' the opposite blood group that the baby might have.

mrsmummytobe · 15/01/2014 21:38

Thanks Polly :)

AppleCrumble1 · 15/01/2014 21:53

Ahem, chip I also have them... Blush

BlanketSky · 15/01/2014 22:10

less hairy tummy for me this time and it's a girl... with DS I turned into a yeti! Have also noticed I don't need to shave legs very often at the moment (and not just because it's winter!). Conclusive proof clearly!

Will be having whooping cough jab, yes.

Handed my mat form in today, roll on St Patrick's Day! :)

MrsFooCough · 15/01/2014 23:00

Ahh chip and hobb us hairy Marys must be just the LUCKIEST ladies during pregnancy, hmmm? It was bad before but not so bad that I HAD to WAX MY FACE FFS Blush
Oh and mrsmummy the anti-D is a bit confusing, I know.

Basically on top of the A, B, AB and O blood types there's another which is the + or - following the letters. This is called rhesus type, and can be either positive or negative. If you are negative (so like A- or B- or so on) and hubby has passed on a positive to the baby, then your body's cells see the positive on the baby's blood cells as an infection and can launch an immune response which can occur if baby's cells slip past the placental barrier (which can occur in late pregnancy). The anti-D is a lovely helpful injection which stops you from doing that, basically. So horrid but necessary, and even if you take the stance of no vaccines during pregnancy, anti-D is WORTH it if you're told you need it.

Ohhhh and DH just felt Bean move again! That's two nights in a row now Grin

We've been offered an antenatal class... worried we're going to have to pretend to be in labour and do all the breathing and screaming and stuff.

PixieBumbles · 15/01/2014 23:30

My baby just kicked hard enough to see it on the outside. First time I've seen that. Really freaky looking! Of course he did it several times in a row then stopped as soon as DH started watching.

smile4me · 16/01/2014 03:57

Awesome scan news and congrats on the engagement too Vikks

Love the name Mateo mumof2

I had whooping cough vaccine with DD, made DH get one too Confused as just don't want to take the risk! Definitely going to get it again this time too.

And I'm another hairymary too! thought I was the only one!!! But always been that way thanks to the PCO! Hmm

Well I'm not really going on mat leave, but my job finishes at the end of Jan. Kinda relieved as I'm so tired with DD's recent sleep allergy, but could really do with the income for another couple of months! Hopefully I'll be able to pick up a few extra days anyway though.

Chip86 · 16/01/2014 06:15

applecrumble just me and you then, they are fun, not!

Baby moving loads DH can feell her so exciting

Im leaving work (office job) 25th April at 38 weeks it looks like i will be the last one looking at everyone else dates im wondering if i should move it, im already tired and finding a 40 hour week a lot I am always ill by friday i might try to take some days off to make it a bit easyer

bushprincess · 16/01/2014 06:23

Another of the hairy belly brigade here Blush not quite sure how dh will react having left me looking pretty normal and coming back to a dark nippled, hairy belly monster!

2 more sleeps!!!!

No mat leave here either, am doing some independent consultancy work for the WHO and should need to be finished with this piece of work by may..... there's then a potential for some more work from them in Nov, which would be perfect, but will have to take what i can get, luckily can work from home which i hope will make things easier!

But we'll cross that bridge when we come to it!

dobedobedo · 16/01/2014 06:43

Speaking of being hairy Marys, how the frig are we supposed to maintain our Lady gardens? I can't see mine anymore thanks to the bump. Are you all angling mirrors strategically or what? I've managed to blind trim using dh's clippers (shhhh!) but any of the more intricate work scares me in case I lop something off!
Am considering sitting in a bowl of veet, but that might sting. I'll probably have to go get waxed at this rate but that means scarring a beauty therapist for life with my yeti like qualities. Blush

Any advice?
