Hands yes, feet...sort of.

My feet ended up wider and a little bit bigger in general. Which was actually another surprise benefit in my case, as I had problems getting shoes before as my feet were too narrow. A bit easier now. :)

My wedding ring is starting to feel a bit tight too... I'll probably remove it and wear it on a chain for the next few months. Worth doing if it's getting tight, as if you need a CS I believe they strongly recommend for you to remove all jewellry.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 15/01/2014 13:20

Congratulations on healthy scans rigby and randdom.

I have never suffered with the swelling of feet or hands at any stage of my pregnancies so im not of much help, neither have I suffered from the extra hairyness or linea nigra thing. I do however get the thin hair/hair loss after baby is here. So frustrating!

I refuse to track my weight when pregnant I dont look at the scales when I go for appointments and I ask them not to say it. As long as I feel good and baby is healthy I don't care. Although OH did say im carrying this one better than the others (that would be because its a boy and yhe old wives tale of being all belly).

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 15/01/2014 13:37

GTT done, not traumatic - my arm is a bit sore now but I survived the fasting and the icky drink. Went for lunch with OH and my mum which was lovely :)

I went to hospital last week for reduced movements and they told me to keep an eye on it, and my midwife has told me that now there's a pattern, if there's any deviation from it or a lack of movements, to head to the hospital - antenatal day unit in daytimes and labour ward at night.

25+2

dobedobedo · 15/01/2014 15:01

I got the hair on my tummy thing and I did just what I did the last time - shaved it off!
I do get swelling occasionally now. Normally just when I've spent the day sitting down or standing up or walking too much. On a normal day, I don't get any. It's mostly my legs as well - although last night I woke up with really swollen hands for some weird reason. It was gone by the morning. Maybe I dreamed it!

MrsFooCough · 15/01/2014 15:56

My hairy best stomach hair is so awful because I'm hairy-ish anyway, fair skin and BLACK body hair does not a hairy lady hide. Le sigh.
If I were to shave I'd have stubble rash on my boobs! They're so big anyway that they currently tend to live either side of the top of my bump when I'm not wearing a bra. SEXY LAYYDEEE

Is everyone having the whooping cough vaccination?

mumof2aimingfor4 · 15/01/2014 17:01

My friend works on paediatric intensive care unit and she knows that I refuse any vaccines whilst pregnant, but she steongly advised me to have the whooping cough one as babies are not vaccinated against it till 2 months old. She said her ward have had a lot of babies come in with it so best to havr it between 28-32 weeks pregnant so that our bodies produce the antibodies in time to be passed to baby so they are protected for first couple of months when they are born.

In short, I will be having it.

dobedobedo · 15/01/2014 17:14

Yeah I'll be having it for sure.

loopylou52 · 15/01/2014 17:14

I'll be having the vaccine too. My friend's DD had whooping cough when she was a couple of weeks old and it was a pretty traumatic time for them.

PixieBumbles · 15/01/2014 17:24

I definitely plan on having the whooping cough vaccine.

On the hair front, I'm ginger so fortunately my belly hair is fair. But I did notice the other day that each boob has a single long, thick, BLACK hair growing out of it, just above each nipple.

Seriously, oh body of mine. What. The. Actual. Fuck. Hmm And this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all the weird crap my body is going to do over the next few months isn't it?

Think I'm beginning to realise why DH looked so uncertain and slightly scared when I asked him if he thinks I'm sexy. Poor chap.

rebeccax2 · 15/01/2014 17:35

Ha ha ha Pixie.

I totally relate to that! My poor OH is terrified of the 'do I look okay' question :-) I like to save it for when I'm looking my most unkempt which is more than a little mean.

You're all so hilarious - I love our little group. x

randdom · 15/01/2014 17:36

I will be having it. My midwife was telling me that there has been at least one death in the area :( wouldn't want to risk it.

NannyPlumForPM · 15/01/2014 17:43

I didn't even know it was an option! But I definitely wil. :)

Regarding the 'do I look ok' question- I sort of avoid it, however I did say the other day 'I seem to have put all the weight on my stomach, it's lucky I haven't put much on my legs like last time' dp replied 'oh . I thought your legs were looking quite a lot bigger!' Extremely unnecessary I thought! :p

mumof2aimingfor4 · 15/01/2014 17:49

Just posted on the baby names bit asking what people think of the name Mateo (spanish for matthew) and some moron replied "great-if your spanish" I asked about the fucking name, not my fucking background!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 15/01/2014 17:51

Sorry just realised that was a bit sweary Blush

moobaloo · 15/01/2014 18:00

love hairy beast stomach hair !!! I have light down on my stomach too, thicker in a little bit above the belly button Hmm and I have the linea nigra! DP says it's very noticeable but I can't see it unless I look in a mirror Hmm

Looking very bumpy these last few days. MUCH more movement since sunday, quite frequent periods of kicking and moving and then quite a few hours of nothing as he sleeps Smile

mumof2 I suppose they think there is more reason naming a baby a spanish name if you are spanish, although I can see no reason to NOT name it a spanish name because you're not spanish, as you say - it doesn't matter what your background is. Anyway, most names come from somewhere else, e.g. I'm having Frederick, which is Scandinavian in origin, and I'm not Scandinavian. If I was naming my baby Olaf it would be the same, but it would get more Hmm looks - but why should it?

Funny old world, eh?

sambababy · 15/01/2014 18:31

I think I heard the hairy tummy means boy, but I'm pretty sure it's an old wives tale!
Has anyone else's belly button turned? Mine kind of half sticks out now but it hasn't completely popped. Thinking of taping it down if I wear a nice tight dress, is that horribly vain? I should embrace the outie!
Sex drive is a bit of a delicate point with us. Soon as I got pregnant it just felt uncomfortable for some reason, and we haven't even tried for a fair while Blush I also need to get on the case before I get too big. DH doesn't understand when I tell him it will be months after the baby's born before he gets lucky again.

sambababy · 15/01/2014 18:32

ps congrats on all the lovely scan news and engagements!

mrsmummytobe · 15/01/2014 18:37

Do we get given the whooping cough vaccine at our 27 week midwife appt? I haven't heard anything about it from the midwife but after reading your comments think I definitely want to have it!

PixieBumbles · 15/01/2014 18:55

My midwife said I need to arrange it through my surgery at 28 weeks. I don't know if it varies from area to area though

hobbjobb · 15/01/2014 18:59

I have to arrange my whooping cough jab through my GP surgery at 28 weeks too mrsmummy

hobbjobb · 15/01/2014 18:59

Also yy to hairy tummy but I am a hairy Mary anyway due to PCOS.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 15/01/2014 19:06

I was told that I have to arrange the whooping cough vaccine with my gp.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 15/01/2014 19:09
