choppa such wonderful advice. I needed a little of that myself. It's so surreal.

Congrats vikks how utterly wonderful! A wedding and a baby - what a great year. xxx

Squiffie · 13/01/2014 15:57

Ooh congrats Vikks what fab news!

NannyPlumForPM · 13/01/2014 16:28

So having looked at DD's condition and the club foot thing - it looks like this DD will have IP too :( apparently it is one of the presentations that can happen (along with a whole host of more serious ones - neurological defects etc) - I am sorry to moan because I know we are so lucky to be blessed with another DD but can't I just have one bloody normal child?!

It seems I am spending lots of time saying how not bothered I am by the whole thing and trying to put on this brave face saying it could be lots worse etc etc etc but just for one minute I want to sit there and scream because it didn't have to be both of my daughters!!! I can still remember the looks in the pram at DD when she was born and comments like "oh that looks so painful" when I knew she was my beautiful daughter and yeah she might have been covred in blisters and bright red and bloody brown swirly bits and blind but she was still mine.

Am fed up. Sorry everyone Angry Sad

bushprincess · 13/01/2014 16:35

big hugs nanny of course you're feeling fed up/upset/sad.... you want your DD to be happy and healthy and although of course you are blessed to have another and it could be worse etc that doesn't make your feelings any less valid. Fingers crossed for as mild presentation as possible for her and for you but in the mean time (and after) you are allowed to feel what ever you feel.

Feel free to vent here any time and cut yourself some slack, you just want the best for you daughter

Thanks and Cake

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 13/01/2014 16:53

nannyplum think this is what's so great about these threads - there's no expectation on you to put on a brave face. Vent, scream, shout - goodness knows I've done enough of it on here the past few weeks Hmm Grin

Thanks

And if they can only see "oh that looks painful", rather than a beautiful little girl, the problem isn't your DD - it's with those people's eyes!

dobedobedo · 13/01/2014 17:48

Aww nanny vent away. I'd say it's perfectly normal to feel how you're feeling, and a range of other emotions too! It's hard to deal with, finding out your child is going to have something "wrong" with them. Been there!

We're here to talk to any time. xxx

In other news, I've been at the doctors as I have the worst pain in my side ever. I thought I had a kidney infection again, but I don't have any signs of infection - it might be swollen kidneys due to the weight of the uterus and baby pressing on them, or kidney stones. Confused I hope it's not that.

With the kidney pain and spd pain, I've been THIS close to punching people in the face all day. Can't wait to get home from work and curl up with a hot water bottle.

Xavielli · 13/01/2014 18:06

Oh nanny perfectly understandable to feel like that.

I'm making a wedding cake in Feb that is Deep blue and gold, seems blue is very popular at the moment.

I'm nesting! I bloody love it, it's the only time my house is ever tidy

Chip86 · 13/01/2014 18:24

Vikks congratulations such lovely news and the way they did it made me cry so emotional

Nanny feel free to vent, sorry to hear your news

Im massive, and hate work cant wait to leave been really ill had friday off my boss was fine but one of the women ( no kids hates kids and anyone who has them ) snarky remarks all day ahhhh

Hormones seam to have kicked in been really shouty for no reason, DH kept moving in bed so kicked him out when i woke in the night needing the loo like i now do every night, i let him back in, he has been really good, sweet and understanding and i feel so bad

moobaloo · 13/01/2014 18:29

22 weeks today! Scared do who realised that's more than halfway through lol

Feeling frequent kicks yesterday and today which is nice because not had many at all before, just one or two a day, and I thought I was getting a lazy baby!

Congrats to Vicks, hugs to Nanny and love to everyone I can't remember the names of!

NannyPlumForPM · 13/01/2014 19:04

Oh thank you, I feel better already just letting SOMETHING out of my system- just getting the news whilst at work in the middle of a particularly shitty day didn't help. I am having my fortnightly half a glass of emergency wine. And a big piece of Cake :)

chip I shouted at dp for breathing too loudly haha - he had to go and sit in dd's room . Dd is going through that awkward 3 yo "I won't" phase- ah the delights of childhood!

Hope the pain is slightly more bearable dobedo - I think coedine u can take whilst pg?

Hope ur dh is behaving himself now moomin he has the wrath of several hormonal women coming at him if not!! And thank you- I know it is their problem rather than mine but I just wish they would back off grrrr.

How many days till your dh is back bushprincess

And any news from hamncheese ? I haven't heard from her in a while!!

Much Cake and [.] for you all :)

ThistletoeAndWine · 13/01/2014 19:16

Movements..... What's normal movements at this stage?

NannyPlumForPM · 13/01/2014 19:27

Well mine can be quiet for. 2-3 hrs but usually once I'm relaxed/ drinking something cold/ fizzy/ acidic (eg oj) she usually bumps. I think both more and less is normal at this stage but ring triage if your worried thistle ??

ThistletoeAndWine · 13/01/2014 20:08

I started feeling moments on n y e!!! And then it's every two - three days!! I hadn't felt him since Saturday when I had some fabulous kicks! I had a bath and he is now thumping away!!! I have consultant tomorrow and scan Friday so I'll check with her! This may be his routine x

impatientlywaiting · 13/01/2014 20:11

Thistle I find that if I'm busy I don't notice the kicks at all. But as soon as I sit down or lie down I find that I'll usually feel kicks within about 15 minutes.

I had a really lazy day over the weekend and felt the baby move probably about once an hour.

ThistletoeAndWine · 13/01/2014 20:23

Definately not feeling movements once and hour when I'm relaxed!! I have raises bmi so I do expect to feel less moments and I know that they can still be flighty at this time

mumof2aimingfor4 · 13/01/2014 20:47

thistle some babies are just plain lazy! My first was pretty lazy and didn't move an aweful lot but when she did decide to kick boy did I feel it. My dd2 and this baby are both complete fidgets and any pressure on my belly causes him to push back at the moment. Quite amusing for my 3yo, shes cute though at the same time, she rubs my belly and says 'hi Mateo'.

I did feel my first kick when occupied today though, I was washing up and felt a little thud from where my belly was touching the edge of the sink.

nanny I believe that we are given only what we are capable to nurture/love. Just from what you say to others on here I think you have a very big heart, your a kind soul and your able to be a strong woman at the same time, all the qualities that a child needs in a parent. Dont beat yourself up for venting, its the best place to do it.

Spirael · 13/01/2014 21:00

Not feeling many movements here yet, just the odd wiggle or prod. I tend to notice clusters of them, maybe about 5 in 5 minutes, but only once per day or so. Mind you, I'm only just over 20 weeks and have an anterior placenta.

I think I didn't start feeling enough movements to really start tracking them till around 24-26 weeks last time, so I'm not particularly concerned. I'm fine with having lazy, sleepy babies. Wink

DD1 always tended to stretch rather than kick, which was ok until she got really long and learnt how to push down on my bladder with her head and jam her feet right up under my ribcage at the same time. Felt very...odd!

Got my 20 week scan tomorrow. :) Looking forward to seeing DD2 again!

mrsmummytobe · 13/01/2014 22:20

Nanny sounds perfectly reasonable to me, feel free to vent, we are all here to support you Thanks

Love all this wedding chat! I loved planning my wedding & getting all those wedding magazines so I'm getting excited about yours now vikks & mumof2 :)

Thistle, I've been finding it a bit unpredictable as well. Sometimes she will move around loads, often at night for some reason! But it can go for hours without me noticing any kicks.

PotatoPolly · 13/01/2014 22:21

At 22+1 I feel lots of kicks when I'm sitting still or laying down- I've noticed it's not in the car though!
good luck with all the upcoming scans Thanks

loopylou52 · 13/01/2014 22:25

Thanks for you, nannyplum, definitely don't feel bad for how you're feeling, it's very normal. It seems very unfair. Do come and rant here whenever you want.

Movements here are quite varied at the moment - some quieter days and some with lots of kicks. Generally I get lots more movement when I'm resting.

dobedobedo · 13/01/2014 22:38

I'm 23+3 and feeling loads of movements throughout the day or night. I have an anterior high placenta which is basically at the top of my uterus.
Does anyone get lots of kicks towards their back, like the baby is facing inwards? Very uncomfortable.
I seem to have a very kicky, energetic one!

loopylou52 · 13/01/2014 22:55

I don't think I've felt that dobe but have def had kicks or general squishing in the bladder!

What does it feel like when they have hiccups? I've sometimes had what feels like regular kicks a few seconds apart - could that be hiccups or does it feel different?

ThistletoeAndWine · 13/01/2014 23:28

I have ante natal tomorrow so will speak to consultant

LongTailedTit · 14/01/2014 00:15

Movement's sporadic here, I don't like to get up until I've felt one but then don't notice them much during the day when I'm busy, apart from the occasional really strong belter. I notice most in the evening on the sofa, just a few over 5 minutes, then same again some time later.
If he's really energetic we can see my bump move, but that's still rare.
He seems to be very mobile, last few days I've felt all movement on my right side, but last week it was on my left, and I get the odd bunch of kicks to my cervix too which feels very odd.

My ribs are still sore - I popped one out of place in my last pregnancy and it's left a weak spot, it's really bloody uncomfortable, like someone's pushing a stick into my rib constantly. The Osteo said that the baby's position may be making it worse at the mo too, as his feet are poking up there.

We picked up a buggy today - 2nd hand Bugaboo Bee+ off eBay, very pleased! I spent half the evening cleaning the frame while DH washed all the seat pads/hood etc. DH got impatient with my bargain hunting and just bid too high on an All Black special edition one, so that's what we've got - a Ninja pushchair. Grin

24+2

LongTailedTit · 14/01/2014 00:17

loopy DS had hiccups, they were very regular, went on for ages, and softer than kicks, more like early kicks or bumps.
