Hi all,

Sorry, only time for a quick catch up. Hugs to all with your SPD's, don't think I have got that but my bad back is really playing up (I have a very curved spine due to falling off too many ponies as a small child!) and it has got much worse. I have an appointment with an NHS physio on Friday and then my cousin who is also a physio, is visiting on Saturday so I will make the most of her too!

We are going to make a HUGE start on the spare room today as there is Sooo much junk in there and we also need to replacethe carpet and paint.

Like the new name Charlee!

Hope everyone ok, will catch up properly tomorrow as have a week off!

Charleesunnysunsun · 20/08/2006 20:00

Hi Kaybee i was living just outside Auckiland in a tiny place called Kumeu, it was lovley but i thought all of NZ was.

Were both fine today, lots of leggys in ribbys but nothing to bad

Mummy2Toby · 20/08/2006 20:52

Hi everyone - sorry to just come on here and have a moan - but I am going to kill dh today My midwife has told me to rest as much as poss because I have high blood pressure and protien in my urine, and of course you can't with a 21month old but yesterday I felt quite rough, so did no housework (for the first time ever) and dh got up this morning (at 10:00, when I had been up since 6am with ds) and shouted at me that the house was a mess and why can't I be like a proper wife I am sooo cross. I don't ask for a lot but a small allowance for being pg wouldn't go amiss anyway, enough moaning from me. I hope all the SPD sufferers manage to get some pampering and rest - will catch up tomorrow. Take Care

Mummy2Toby · 20/08/2006 20:58

stacey - I don't know whether you are having favours or anything at your wedding but I have just seen a thread on the for sale board for favours, don't know what your budget would be, but they seemed quite reasonable.

podglet · 20/08/2006 22:08

Mummy2Toby - and for you. That's not a nice thing to say. Hope he has seen the error of his ways and is now helping out a bi more.

staceym11 · 21/08/2006 08:55

mummytotoby at your dh!!! tell him to be a proper husband and look after his pg wife!!!

thanks about the favours but we ran out of budget about 2 weeks ago, just doing the rest on hand outs now!!!!

well havnt been on for ages as our computer broke and had to send it to my dad so he could fix it (i love having someone who can do that in the family saves so much time and money)

am spending the week doing all the final preparations for the wedding and still panicking that iv forgotten something! when dd is in bed later im gunna start listing again!

well as im in surrey we've been gettin some sun but its in amongst showers, hope saturday is nice!

Hi all, looks like another wet week in store for us here in Lancashire. How can this be August? I didn't plan on needing warm maternity clothes yet. I think my nearest Asda selling their maternity range is in Manchester, which isn't close but it's probably worth the trip.

I'm very excited, my 3 friends have now reached 40+3 weeks, 37+5 weeks and 38 weeks. A couple of them have had twinges now so it really could be any day now. I can't wait to know what they have!

I hope those of you stuggling with spd and other pains are feeling ok today. I'm getting lots of uncomfortable kicks in my ribs but so far only a bit of lower back ache. I've bought a gym ball so intend to start sitting on that at night to encourage LO to stay in a nice position. My friend who is 38 weeks pg has a dd already, who was born back to back. Very long and uncomfy birth with forceps, vantouse and episiotomy. She was told to use gym ball to try and get LO in better position, so I'm going to follow that advice too, even though I think mine is sitting side on most of the time at the moment.

And Mummytotoby, I can't believe your dh would be so insensitive and unhelpful. I hope he has changed his ways and is doing all the housework for you now.

Hi hope everyone is doing ok. My spd has been loads better since being on holiday - lots of walking and swimming with not a lot of sitting in dogey office chairs has helped I think. lol don't think holidays would be given on the NHS though.

Had my 3rd and hopefully final scan last week and this LO is bigger than Ds was - I scared myself and followed the growth curve to 42 weeks - it would be over 9lbs not doing that! DS was only 7lb 5 and that was enough.

I have started maternity leave now which is fab, but working from home on our business so keeping plenty busy enough. DS finishes nursery this week and then starts pre-school in 2 weeks - gulp.

Right off to continue crossing things off my to do list.

Debz99 · 21/08/2006 15:16

Hi Velcrobott I'm forced to have my baby at Medway it was either there or Maidstone, however if I chose Maidstone, every blood test and midwife visit etc would have to have been held in Maidstone and I don't have a car to get there, living in Sittingbourne it's an unbelieveable 1hr and 30 mins on the bus ! Went a got my wrist splints today but gotta wait for by fembrace and I had to be measured and I will get an appointment to get it fitted !

velcrobott · 21/08/2006 16:15

If you CAT me I know a very good MW in Sittingbourne... she delivered my 2 kids and she is also a maternity reflexologist. She might ahve ideas for your SPD... There is an excellent osteopath in Tunbridge Wells but I know that would be a treck for you!
BTW - Maidstone (as far as I know) mayt be closing in November anyway!

Charleesunnysunsun · 21/08/2006 20:42

Evening ladies

Is anyone else suffering badly with breathlessness? I had it with DS but not untill about 35 weeks becuase he had gotten nearly full size and was pushing up into my lungs, but i have it already with this one and its terrible im not sleeping well again due to it?
I will have to mention it to my midwife.

spinach · 21/08/2006 21:15

velcrobott.... hi, another eds sufferer! i actually dont know that much about it, and since my consultant isnt taking it very seriously i would be grateful for your knowledge. I am experinceing spd too... I have spinal probs anyway, so a combination of hormones and lax ligaments isnt good for me! My consultant told me to take paracetamol... thats how helpful they've been.

Why do you recomend an osteopath rather than physio? i have insurance so could be covered... have to check my policy.

eeyoreuk · 21/08/2006 21:15

m2t - i hope he has been put in his place i would throttle my husband if he said that.

welll had my 4d scan on saturday and it was brill - it makes everything seem so real.

hope to catch up again soon

eeyoreuk

Mummy2Toby · 21/08/2006 22:38

Charlee - I have been a bit breathless too, have you had your 2nd lot of blood tests, apparently my midwie said that it could make you breathless if you are anemic (sp?)- I find that if I cross my legs or sit up straight it is worse, so am tending to lean back a bit when I sit which seems to help. Also running around after a 21 month old doesn't help me
Thanks for all your support about dh - would you believe he hasn't appologised just carried on as normal - more fool me for letting it go, but I am a bit too emotional at the moment to argue about it - must be the hormones

staceym11 · 22/08/2006 08:21

morning everyone, well still tidying, dp off work from thurs so will have so help with wedding plans. im not sleeping too well what with all thats going on, with the excitement, my little boy thinking night is the best time to be awake and dd having teethy problems with her back molars im managing about 2 hrs on average a night, im gunna look a wreck come saturday!!!!

Debz99 · 22/08/2006 08:50

Morning Ladies !

Had a really crap nights sleep, everytime I turned over I woke up with pains in my back or needed a wee ! if I got 3 hrs I think I was lucky ... now sitting at work feeling like a zombie LOL ! Now where did I put the coffee jar .......

Charleesunnysunsun · 22/08/2006 10:45

Morning everyone

I don;t think any of us slept well last night! The fairground decided to park uo for the night outside our's last night and wern't very quiet about it! Luckily they have gone this morning.
I have the Midwife tomorrow for my 2nd set of blood tests - yay! She's terrible at taking blood and it takes her about 4 attempts from both arms to get it - ouch!

podglet · 22/08/2006 11:00

Hi,

Another with a rubbish night's sleep here. Back & hip pain and needing a wee 2 or 3 times making for very restless nights. I also seem to have a very dry throat but only at night when I lie in bed???

Had my bloods done this morning - bit of a trauma. The Dr hadn't signed the form so I had to dash to my surgery (V luckily only about 100 yards from our local NHS walk in centre) then dash back to have my bloods done. When I left, I crossed the road to the bus stop, looked down and my arm was pouring blood from under the plaster! Back across the road to be properly bandaged up (apparently my veins have now gone from barely there to over helpful!) and I was done!

Enjoying my week off though. Did loads of housework yesterday so am exhausted today

Hope everyone else ok and not too tired...

NatalieJane · 22/08/2006 12:40

Hello everyone

The breathlessness is more likely to be caused by the baby taking up more room, leaving your lungs less room to expand as you breathe in, the say that the lungs start to work better to stop the breathlessness, but I can vouch for mine not doing a very good job!! I have never heard of the link between breathlessness and anemia, so it might be worth you all looking into that for your own peace of mind and health!

I am with those that can't sleep, it has only really been in the last week or so, before that I was sleeping quite well, but have now found I am waking up either needing a wee, with cramp/pins and needles, or just feeling really restless. I made DH sleep on the sofa the night before last to see if the restlessness was caused by me not wanting to wake him up, but it made no difference. The joys of being 6 months+ pregnant eh girls?!! Not long to go now...

Does anyone know anything about the Jane range of travel systems? I am really loving the Nomad and Slalom, but can't seem to find much about them - good or bad.

HC, meant to ask you last week... did you get my last email that day I sent you the list? It was the reply to your question about nighty .v. pyjamas, I got a returned message, but it was a good few days later, so I wasn't sure if you did get it or not?

Anyway, hope everyone is OK, except for the aches and pains, TC xxx

NatalieJane · 22/08/2006 12:43

Excuse spellings in last message... DS is doing a 'performance' in the middle of the room, anyone ever seen a 4 year old trying to perfect one armed push ups?? Many thanks to Lazytown!!!

staceym11 · 22/08/2006 13:04

lol, glad my dd isnt old enough to really understand lazytown yet or we'd have had the same performance!

has he not managed the one arm one leg one yet?? tut tut! lol, arent kids great!

well walked to town today as my SIL needed shoes for the wedding (do you think she could have left it any later??) and nearly died on the way there, its quite hot today and my body didnt cope very well, gunna ahve a sit down for half hour before i start more housework, the joys of having relatives visiting!

i hope some of you managed some sleep, so far today we all seem to have done miserably!

Kif · 22/08/2006 13:07

My goddaughter (4) does the lazy town push ups!

It made us laugh - we'd been saying 'Lazytown is far too blatant and transparent propaganda to have any effect - imagine thinking that kids will start to eat more apples just because Sportacus says so'.

But - it appears there is not such thing as too blatant or too obvious when kids are concerned!
