IntheBEE lovely bags. Of course my eye goes to the most expensive ones :)

Glad to hear about today's positive scans. Good luck for tomorrow.

I was watching masterchefe but must confess that some of the plates made me really nauseous.

I can't remember who asked about tiredness. But I am so tired today! I'm 13+2 and things do not seem to be improving on that front.

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 10/12/2013 21:04

MrsCharlie, he'd probably argue back how many bags does a woman need. Mine says that all the time. Though I don't have a defense, I have a thing for Kipling bags and have probably about 25 or so... and 3 Lulus.

MrsCharlieD · 10/12/2013 21:15

Hmm this is true but different bags go with different outfits and occasions. I have over a 100 bags it is getting ridiculous, mainly mulberry and fendi but a bag always fits no matter how fat or thin i am x

seatfor5 · 10/12/2013 21:40

Glad to hear everyones scans have gone well, my monkey wouldnt play ball so i need to be rescanned on Friday!

i do love bag talk! I hear you MrsC bags always fit lol!

I have bought mine bargain at the moment :)

hackneybird · 10/12/2013 21:55

I used a samsonite changing bag last time (purchased from eBay for about a fiver) but this time I don't think I'll bother - just get a tote with decent pockets.

For those doing all this for the first time, I'd say you don't need nearly as much stuff as you think. Having said that, I never usually miss a shopping opportunity so I will try to find something new that I 'need' by the time June comes around!

hackneybird · 10/12/2013 21:58

MrsC can I just say I don't know many people that own a Mulberry handbag - let alone several!

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 10/12/2013 22:20

seatfor5 I've looked at the Sugarjack site before, they are all so beautiful!!!

Though with the two changing bags I have now I'm content for the moment - I am much keener on finally getting a Kelly Moore or Epiphanie bag for all my camera equipment!

Mitchell2 · 10/12/2013 22:33

Oooh changing bags. I was talking to DP yesterday about it as I'm not convinced I need a specific changing bag - just a tote with a few pockets inside and one of those skip hop changing mats. He wasn't convinced but I really don't like any changing bags out there - bar Marc Jacobs, Burberry and the Gucci ones?! - yep I shouldn't have gone down that google path!

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 10/12/2013 22:40

I've just seen the Kelly Moore bags hold camera equipment and nappies at the same time, I know where my Christmas money is going as this DSLR is going to get used A LOT when pea pod is here!

wispaxmas · 10/12/2013 22:41

I bought myself a Sophia & Matt changing bag and it's lovely. It was my first pregnancy purchase and I decided to treat myself monthly to something maybe not entirely necessary, or slightly nicer than necessary. That was Novembers, and I have yet to decide what December's will be!

Welcome Anna and Cold - lovely to have more on the bus.

Thanks for your lovely words about my DS - I had suggested playing with a boy in his class who is really nice and this morning he said he could never find him. Today he saw him at lunch time and asked if he wanted to play and he said yes - hooray! So much better day.

Great day for scans as well. Congrats to those who saw some wriggling today and good luck for scans tomorrow.

superlambanana · 10/12/2013 23:28

Glad for your DS redcliff!

Does anyone know of any nice changing rucksacks? I can't have one shoulder bags as I have back problems, but I can never find a rucksack that doesn't look like I'm about to hike off into a forest which can rather ruin a smart outfit!

Vickyvix · 11/12/2013 00:06

Welcome annabanana :)

jaykay great news on your scan!!

lmf that makes us due date buddies! I was brought forward 4 days to 20th today.

Good luck tomorrow sussex and to all of those with scans still to come.

I told my mum today, she cried and was really happy. Now to tell my boss tomorrow, before the Christmas party! I am in the same boat as you summer it will be very obvious if I don't drink tomorrow and feel I should spill the beans, but don't want to make a big thing out of it.

MrsCharlieD · 11/12/2013 05:36

Id not thought about just using a tote instead, that may be the answer to my prayers!

Superlam ruck sacks have been huge this season so there should be plenty out there. Vivienne westwood does a tartan one and the high street has great bargains too.

Redcliff , lovely news about your son. kids can be so cruel x

jaykay987 · 11/12/2013 05:49

super I have the same dilemma re back packs.

I like the pacapod changing bags. They are expensive though, and when I looked at them in JL yesterday I dont think the bags look like they're worth £150-250! The concept is good though.

Their website sells the "inners" separately, so I think I'll invest in them (or something similar I guess other companies might do the same thing). Then find a nice handbag style backpack that they'll fit into.

At least that way I'm buying something I like, and not resenting spending a fortune on something I don't love.

Poetschild · 11/12/2013 06:07

Summer - we did want a nuchal test but baby wasn't up for it. They offered us a 2nd trimester blood test but the midwife the point that if we're not going to go for the amniocentesis if it comes back high risk then we could be setting ourselves up for a lot of worrying. So I think we'll just try to keep in mind that there's a chance that there could be an issue.

I love all the changing bag chat and envy those of you looking at lulu and gucci! I'm a bag person too but Accessorize is about all my bank balance will take!

MrsCharlieD · 11/12/2013 06:23

Poetschild i love accessorize! Now we have a bambino on the way i won't have disposable income to frit away in mulberry and Harvey nicks so i think my collection will be coming to an abrupt halt this year. has anyone thought about prams? In regards to the nt did they offer you an internal scan as they get a different view from that angle. That wad the last resort for me as none of the wriggling bum, rolling over, jiggling the wand around worked. the internal worked a treat though and i just thank god id shaved by bits and my legs lol x

Bumblebeesmum · 11/12/2013 06:46

I had a gorgeous plain brown leather changing bag from pink lining - it was rubbish. Yes it had a tiny changing mat a bottle holder & space for nappies etc but as soon as you crammed in spare clothes in case of explosions etc it was rammed. I ended up using my husband's changing bag bababing (he didn't want to be seen with mine) it was spacious & great. Would love to find a pretty & huge one this time!!

Clever - thanks. I've been up since before 5(!!) as he left at silly o'clock this morning - he doesn't know where he's going & it's supposed to take an hour so of course he left 2.5hours before the interview!!!! (We have very different personalities!) I hope it goes ok - he seems to have a lot planned for a 30 minute lesson but I'm no teacher so hopefully he knows what he's doing! :)

Bumblebeesmum · 11/12/2013 06:55

Super / Jay - do you plan on baby wearing? I tried for a week but my back just couldn't cope. Anyway if you're not then you'd probably be fine with a bag that fits over or under your pram? I don't remember ever carrying my changing bag other than from the car.

chestnutmare · 11/12/2013 08:30

Congratulations on all the recent scans Smile

Does anyone feel like they have no bump yet? I sometimes think there is something there, but then at other times it seems like nothing! I am 13 + 3, but didn't have a completely flat tummy to begin with, so maybe it will just take a bit longer to become obvious?? Starting to doubt there is anything in there again, despite all the activity we saw at the scan on Friday!

MarlenaGru · 11/12/2013 08:33

bumblebee what sling did you use? I found a good sling really helped my back. I would like a bag I can use without the pram. I gave my old one to my sil. It was great but once you had filled it with stuff I could barely lift it. My mum made me take bottles and medicine and all sorts of shite with me wherever we went eventhough I was breast feeding so in reality all I needed was a muslin, a couple of nappies and a change of clothes. Even with the huge bag it didn't prepare me for the time I was having a lovely dinner with my dh, Dsis and her bf and DD exploded on my lap. Dh had to buy me a new outfit as I was covered Shock Blush

MarlenaGru · 11/12/2013 08:35

chestnut last time I had nothing until 20 weeks and was desperate for a bump! This time I am already very obvious at 12 weeks. I can't wait for my maternity order to arrive! My dresses are getting very stretched!

chestnutmare · 11/12/2013 08:37

Thanks MarlenaGru, this is my first so no idea what to expect really! I guess everyone is different though!

Redcliff · 11/12/2013 08:38

Bumble - I used to facilitate the sort of session your husbands doing and I think it's better to have too much than too little as its terrible if they run out of stuff to talk about half way through. Good luck to him - I can only imagine how nerve racking must be to be on the other side.

Am really thinking about changing bags now - last time I just had a Tescos backpack which is not very glam. Bit broke so will be going for a cheaper one but might have a look on e-bay as well.

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 11/12/2013 10:42

Poetschild, I love Accessorize, too! I did treat myself to one full price Lulu when I got my last job but she does terrific sales - the bags still aren't super cheap but you can get 75% off which helps.

I'm thinking of going for the Ergo Baby Carrier, they are supposed to be great for baby's hips and I'm not sure about faffing round with a sling.

Redcliff, Mothercare had 50% off changing bags recently so that's where I got the Babymel one, I'm sure there'll be something similar again soon or in the sales.

jaykay Someone on another thread recommended this: http://www.skiphop.com/product/prontochangingstation.html Skip Hop Changing Station - you can just pop that into any handbag!
