WifeofGru · 10/12/2013 14:24

Phew MrsCharlieD. Had visions of you snacking on some liquitabs Grin

Welcome coldof hands

riblet I have saved a load of maternity stuff on asos and will probably do an order before getting back to UK in January. Trying to wait it out til then in my regular jeans. Only 3 and a bit weeks so we'll see if I manage.

panic that does sound rotten. I hope that if you have the CVS all goes well. Will you have the results before Christmas?

BEEwitched · 10/12/2013 14:29

Will catch up on all your news when in back home!

Glad to say my blood pressure is back to normal and baby's heart is beating away strongly!

superlambanana · 10/12/2013 14:36

Oh panic that's rubbish Sad How far away will they be? Can you Skype them? I know it's not the same but at least it's something. And at least you know it's ultimately for a lovely reason Smile

I am SO unbelievably tired... Have a feeling I may fall asleep at my desk this afternoon. I also keep feeling weepy which isn't helping me concentrate!

Lmf679 · 10/12/2013 14:56

Just back from scan, there's definitely a little baby in there, he/she was waving at us! Smile

Jessiebaba · 10/12/2013 15:04

Congratulations Lmf & Vicky on your scans!

Good luck everyone else having scans today! Xmas Smile

Still 6 sleeps until mine.........

BEEwitched · 10/12/2013 15:19

Lmf, congratulations on your scan!

Panic, I'm really sorry to hear that, could you spend Christmas with friends or with family that will also be in the country? Fingers crossed for your Harmony results!

Super, I know, I snoozed for almost two hours at the GP practice before my midwife appointment, I couldn't face going to the shops...

panicmechanic · 10/12/2013 15:24

panicmechanic · 10/12/2013 15:27

Congrats on all the great scans!

They are going go Switzerland and yes I can Skype and will go to my parents which will be lovely. My DH has family literally everywhere and it's such a good opportunity for him to spend time with them as they are hardly ever together in one place.

Hopefully it will all work out and they can meet another member next time.

CleverOl10 · 10/12/2013 15:43

hi coldof!

bumble - good luck to your dh. I'm a history teacher and know how hard it is trying to be an expert in thousands of years of every country!

panicmechanic · 10/12/2013 15:43

Hey Jaykay, thinking of you how was the scan?

jaykay987 · 10/12/2013 15:44

ahh panic - it's good the consultant is looking after you seriously. The timing could have been better though - as someone else said, next year your Christmas will be amazing! So appreciate the non-child bits this year whilst your dd is away. Your last chance for 18 years!

So my scan was good. Bean was waving and spinning. Causing the sonographer lots of problems!
She really struggled to record the heartbeat and there was lots of whispering with the other woman in the room (training I think) then she declared "don't worry - nothing of concern baby is just playing with me" after which I immediately started to panic!
She kept asking me to hold my breath, so she could try and isolate the heartbeat easier, but my heart was racing more and more and I was finding it harder to keep my stomach still! But always good in the end. Baby started to cooperate. Grin

BEEwitched · 10/12/2013 15:46

Jay that's wonderful news!

I always have to giggle as soon as I hear the heartbeat, which of course means the poor midwives immediately lose it again. Ooops! Xmas Grin

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 10/12/2013 16:15

Oh, quick help, please, now that I have proper internet back who do I message my email/name so I can join the Facebook group????

panicmechanic · 10/12/2013 17:05

Brilliant news JayKay!

LadyGoneGaga · 10/12/2013 17:32

Hi Beewitched you can mail me and i will sort it. Send your email address.

Lovely news on your scans, Vix and Jaykay. Only 2.5 more days until mine. Bricking it. Had a scan at 7 weeks but that's so long ago now!!!

Really excited as my friend just mailed to say she's pregnant - 18 weeks so 6 weeks in front of me. It's her first and she's been waiting a very long time to get her OH to agree to it (he has kids from past relationship) so she's over the moon.

MarlenaGru · 10/12/2013 17:43

Well done on all the scans today everyone! So exciting.
When is our last scan so we can officially heave a group sigh of relief?
I am sick of trains today. Delayed coming in, delayed going home. Dh is out tonight and if I can get DD in bed I have an appointment with the sofa and masterchef!

Jessiebaba · 10/12/2013 18:16

Good idea MarlenaGru
Coldofhands is on 20th - is that maybe the last one in the group?

SleepyNess · 10/12/2013 18:37

Did you all get to listen to heartbeats? We didn't.. But we could see the heart beating away.

DH told me off for not having stake pie and opting for ice lolly instead... :( Baby needs protein, he says.. Come on, there's no way I can swallow anything as hearty as that!!

Lmf679 · 10/12/2013 18:44

sleepyness ours didn't have sound but we could see it. It didn't move loads but kept waving it's arms up. She kept poking my stomach to get the baby to move it's head so she could do the nuchal fold. I moved to the side and the baby did a little jump! It was surreal seeing it all. Am very excited now!

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 10/12/2013 18:52

They didn't listen for the heartbeat at my standard scan, only the midwives at the GP clinic got their doppler out - though I think in some NHS Trust areas they don't listen for the heartbeat before 18-20 weeks as policy doesn't allow it.

Mine did it two weeks ago and she did say in hospital they wouldn't really try before 18 weeks but she wanted to give it a go.

AnnaBanana25 · 10/12/2013 18:52

Hi guys, didn't realise there were due date clubs here and only just found out! I'm due nice and late on the 30th June... Can I join? I'm 11 and 2. Is anyone at a similar point? Just waiting for a date for my scan... Very excited!!

HannahC1989 · 10/12/2013 18:56

Iv brought my own pocket doppler machine and its very good. Iv found a clear heartbeat everytime. Very much recommended! X

Jessiebaba · 10/12/2013 18:56
