What fabulous news Cherry, congratulations!!! Have you got a name for her!

Loki, that's beyond organised!

BetterWithCheese · 24/11/2013 08:07

Congratulations cherry! Sounds like a great birth apart from the retained

BetterWithCheese · 24/11/2013 08:15

Sorry was being mauled by a toddler!

Sounds like a good birth apart from the retained placenta-hope you are recovering well Thanks

Loki-wow that's like extreme nesting!

It was our wedding anniversary yesterday so went out for dinner with DH for the first time in a year! Seriously, not been out just the two of us since our last anniversary. I'm going to try to find a local babysitter as it would be nice to leave the house on an evening occasionally!! Had a lovely meal an we walked home from town which is the most exercise I've had in weeks, I then passed out and only woke to wee once in the night-result! I have a full day planned of cleaning bathrooms, packing hospital bag, and sorting out our room for the bedside cot.

Hope everyone is doing well this morning.

Chelsealady · 24/11/2013 08:16

Congrats cherry! So so lucky!!!

I second you on that Liz there is still 6 days left of Nov lets see how many more babies pop out i think about 3 for all of you who are 37-39 weeks.

Lucky ladies theres me and some others not even 35!

MildredH · 24/11/2013 08:27

Congratulations Cherry! Lovely news. You must still feel a bit shell shocked. Hope you get home today.

I'm over the moon to have finally had a reasonable night sleep Grin. 11pm to 8am- no wees. Did wake briefly few times and talked myself out of needing one. Really limited drinks yest evening so mouth like Gandis flip flop and first wee like proper orange lucozade this morn. Drank plenty during day tho & will this morn so hopefully no harm..

Speaking of which there's a cuppa raspberry leaf tea waiting for me..

Planning a busy day of boring jobs- going to utilise DH presence to do all heavy ish things I want sorting round the house.

Have a good Sunday all x

Featherbag · 24/11/2013 08:31

I keep forgetting to mention this, so it'll seem a bit random, sorry! I remember a conversation about delayed cord clamping in an earlier thread, I'd totally forgotten about it but it turns out that, at least for the surgeon I got, this is now standard practice for CS delivery at my hospital. I heard him explaining the evidence for it to one of the med students I'd allowed in while we were waiting for it to stop pulsing. I was very impressed!

PistachioTruffle · 24/11/2013 08:37

Congratulations Cherry! Hope you manage to get home soon.

Welcome home Feather and Baby Ben Flowers

I'm another worth lots of cleaning planned for today. Bathroom, windows, bedrooms especially. I could really do with cooking some meals for the freezer, too. Does anyone have any good recipes that are foolproof?

WhisperMen · 24/11/2013 09:11

Congratulations Cherry! hope you get home soon.

I'm fed up of feeling crampy now. want this baby out. only 36+3 though so still got a long way to go. going to finish my baby blanket today and find myself a non baby related knitting pattern to take my mind off everything. that is if I can haul myself out of bed any time today. Grin

mumoftwoboysS · 24/11/2013 09:42

Congratulations cherry! Is this your first (sorry can't remember) a nice quick birth if if is!! Sorry about the retained placenta but at least that bit is over with now and you have your little girl!

I got up 3 times for a wee last night- usually it's just the once so that was annoying! And ds got up once for a wee and DH came home late and drunk but wasn't too loud considering. I got a lie in so I'm happy (ESP after seeing DH's red eyes- he can't be feeling that great!). Bless DH.

loki that's crazy organized Wink I'll be doing cleaning and hopefully shampoo and vacuum nursery carpet ready for furniture (out of poor ds2's room) of DH manages to paint the last coat on the walls.

Made a cushion cover last night out of se cute patchwork material I bought on eBay last night- I'm just impressed I didn't fuck it up go wrong somewhere! May attempt some bunting next...

mumoftwoboysS · 24/11/2013 09:43

Ooh and I'm 36 weeks today- woohoo!!

MrsShrubs · 24/11/2013 09:51

Congratulations cherry Flowers wonderful news!!!

Is it me or are all the girls being born early and only a couple of boys? We started off with more people knowing they were having boys than girls at one point.

feather I asked about delayed clamping at our birthing centre your and they said the same, standard practice now unless baby needs urgent attention

violetbean · 24/11/2013 09:57

congrats feather and cherry, so exciting to hear the baby news! Smile

Chelsea, was it you asking about getting things moving in the poo department? Think the general advice has been:

bran flakes
dried apricots
prunes
fybogel
orange juice

can't think of any more but check down the thread and you might find some more tips! Hope it gets better soon. Thanks

WhisperMen · 24/11/2013 10:32

chelsea I find a cup of coffee helps things along for me. It isn't really recommended as caffeine stops you absorbing vitamin c or iron or something, but it usually helps for me. That being said I am having no trouble in that department lately. I don't know where it's all coming from!

Chelsealady · 24/11/2013 10:45

Ahah! Thanks Violet & Whisper

Stom91 · 24/11/2013 11:38

cherry congratulations!! :)

Dp ask me this morning if I could give birth today cos he doesn't want to go to work tomorrow! Lol he said he'd rather be at home looking after me and dd that at work.
Think he's getting impatient now too x

OP posts:
WhisperMen · 24/11/2013 11:51

storm My dp says every morning to not go into labour until I am 37 weeks because then his leave will be over the Christmas period. Grin

Chelsealady · 24/11/2013 12:32

Hows everyones aches and pains today any progress??

WhisperMen · 24/11/2013 13:15

no progress for me sadly other than more lovely discharge and feeling absolutely exhausted. My legs feel like I have run two marathons Sad. I also am crying at everything today . I made myself a chicken cheese and hash brown burger as that usually cheers me up, sat down to eat it and burst into tears because it wasn't spaghetti hoops on toast Hmm I think I am just going to go back to bed.

Alyssa1978 · 24/11/2013 13:44

I'm not even getting anymore discharge, but I'm really fucked off irritated today, I'm all edgy and twisty and can't stop fidgeting.

Loads of pressure earlier and cramp this morning but nothing else Sad

extracrunchy · 24/11/2013 13:50

Nothing here either, but still intermittent contractions. It's pretty early yet anyway (though DS was born at 36+5 and 8 1/2lbs...)
Ugh pregnancy is rubbish!!

PistachioTruffle · 24/11/2013 13:59

I've done lots if milling about this morning but don't actually feel as if I've achieved anything. I'm now sitting with a cup of tea and a Kitkat while I try and make a plan for the rest of the afternoon.

Am I the only one on this thread hoping baby stays put a bit longer? I feel as if I've still got so much to do before he arrives, I want to stretch time so I get more of it!

Stom91 · 24/11/2013 14:03

Massive rant sorry.
Woke up today feeling like shit. Got horrible cough and snotty nose. The pain everywhere is unbareable I'm so exhausted I can't even describe. Go for a hot shower and half way through it stops working cos the fucking gilder has turned the water off again !!! It's fucking Sunday!!!! Seriously!! Fuck off!! He doesn't even knock to say he's going to turn it off!!! Cue me standing in the shower no water running just burst into tears - conditioner still in my hair.
Dp is out at the christening today - I feel to crap to go.
All I want to do is sleep but I feel guilty for sleeping. It's cold and damp and I've just had enough of everything!!
Areghhhhhh!!!! :(

abcdemma · 24/11/2013 14:03

Congrats cherry and welcome home feather
Had tummy ache during early hours but nothing to accompany it so about to blow up the exercise ball lol, although DP wants me to wait a week so he gets the busy Xmas build-up period off work Hmm
Hoping for delayed cord clamping too, if I'm in pool then I want to wait a minute with him anyway before cutting and climbing out so that should marry together well crosses fingers
Hope everyone starts to feel better/have progress/get out of bed Grin

froubylou · 24/11/2013 14:24

My DP is set on baby arriving on 13/12 by c section. He looks panicked if I point out that he could come anytime now. And that if he has turned its anytime up to beginning of January.

DP is self employed and just got really busy but as he is a builder has 2 quiet weeks at Christmas when he is generally off.

Need baby to be here before Christmas for my own sanity I think too lol.

I'm going to have a nice bath, supervise dp putting bedroom curtains back up and then doss on sofa. Dd at her dads until later and dp is cooking tea tonight. Result!

LadyMedea · 24/11/2013 14:28

I'm still in bed and may not get out of it until this evening, for anyone else feeling guilty, bed is the place to be. Just so tired all the time even though I'm sleeping better. Except for the hour of horrendous wake me up pain at 5am which was trapped wind. No show, no contractions... Just wind.

I'm 38+3 and feel ready to meet little one now, but also aware it could be another three weeks yet so trying just to take each day as it comes and hanging on to the knowledge that pregnancy is finite. DH would quite like to just be home waiting with me now too which is sweet, and would facilitate the bringing of various toasted bread products and cups of tea to me in bed which has been happening today.

stom do you think there is any chance they'd induce you given that your level of pain just keeps increasing. With your joint problems I would imagine the bigger the baby gets the worse it will be. I would certainly be arguing to not go past 40weeks. From googling the looks to be quite a few cases of induction for hypermobility. I'm happy to help you put together some evidence to persaude your arsehole consultant if you'd like... Me loves the research.
