Yes wispa although I was 19 and young so that may have helped. I could barely lift my head though. And my parents thought I was being a drama queen.

Bezzabelle · 24/10/2013 19:34

Cheesy- totally understand....I'm not even on Facebook as so paranoid about privacy!! I'm south west too!!

MummySparkle · 24/10/2013 19:59

Thanks for the welcome ladies :)

I can't believe it's only 8:00, it feels like midnight I'm that whacked!! I'm currently curled up in Bed with DS. I was ding bedtime, but he fell asleep ages ago... However I feel like I might puke if I move. This sickness is getting me down

I'm super worried that this one won't be a sticky bean. Tempted to book an early scan, but we're a bit skint :(

I'm going to get the flu jab as soon as I can. I work in a school so was going to get it this year anyway! (Yay for it now being free). I had flu on holiday in gran canaria when I was 14 or 15. I felt like death the whoule holiday and spent a few days sleeping in the hotel room whilst the rest of my extended family went exploring!

misshoohaa · 24/10/2013 20:06

I think I'll be opting out of the flu jab but as has been said its an individual choice. Liquid I was all booked into have the swine flu jab with DS1 and opted out at the last moment as it freaked me out too much as it hasn't been around long. All kinds of decisions like this whilst pregnant!

I'm trying to limit BPA exposure during this pregnancy and god it's hard. That bastard chemical is in everything! No tinned food is no easy feat.

I've managed to avoid the MS so far but early days [5+3) I had it dreadfully with my DS so just waiting for it to appear!

SarahAnderson · 24/10/2013 20:14

I'm definitely going to get the flu jab. I haven't had flu for years and years, and I don't get around to getting the jab every year, but I definitely will this time.

A new symptom today.... itchy ankles! Been googling the hell out of it and it appears that it's a known early pregnancy thing. Can be symptomatic of dodgy liver but only if it's really bad. I'll mention it to the GP when I'm there this weekend in any case. (I've now got a long mental list of minor ailments to oh-so-casually drop in without trying to make a big deal about them...)

carrie105 · 24/10/2013 20:18

wispa - I keep teetering on the edge of booking an earlier scan myself as I'm so keen to get the ball rolling. Im keeping myself busy with Dr's appointment for flu jab in the meantime, that will get me through another week! Wishing you all the best for your scan tomorrow!

CleverOl10 · 24/10/2013 20:27

This pregnancy thing is harder the second time round with a toddler :( Not really prepared for full on toddler tantrums while feeling tired and sick - plus having to avoid his kicking feet as he tantrums. Last time it was so much easier to just collapse and be pathetic and let DH look after me! Not so straightforward when you're so relied upon by a little one who doesn't understand that mummy is feeling poorly.

Sorry, rant over, just letting off steam!

MrsGasMan · 24/10/2013 20:54

clever I completely and utterly feel your pain. I was remembering that at this stage with DD I used to get home from work, have whatever I could manage for dinner, shower snd crawl into bed, often about 8pm! I'm lucky if I have even got DD to bed by then at the mo.

And DH works until 10 and most weekends. Last week I sat on the sofa and sobbed while DD cried in her bedroom, called DH and said 'I can't do this'. You are definitely not alone, and if it helps I feel as if I've turned a corner today-hope it's the same for you tomorrow :-)

MummySparkle · 24/10/2013 21:12

I hope I turn a corner soon - it felt like a Herculean effort to get off my behind, hang the washing out ad crawl back to bed!

Clever it must be really hard feeling sick with a toddler. I'm finding it hard enough with our crawler, and he's pretty good natured. When I get home from work all I want to do us collapse on the sofa, but instead I get passed a (generally on need of a new nappy / I swear OH saves them up) baby. Don't get me wrong I love him to pieces, but I'm exhausted! Half term can't come quick enough! (Luckily it's 4:15 tomorrow for me!)

BabyXmas does not approve of travel by Eurostar... Confused

Thanks for the well wishes for tomorrow.

Marlena, I'm sure being young and healthy wad on you're side for the flu. I cannot imagine how horrible it would be to have flu on top of pg symptoms.

Are you back on this side of the channel wispa?

CleverOl10 · 24/10/2013 21:19

Enjoy your half term Mummy. I'm at the end of half term - a nice few days away have been better than work but still its full time toddler time - and that always makes a holiday rather tough! Love him to bits but he's just so stubborn! Sometimes term time routine is better. I probably won't say that next week!

Looking forward to telling DS actually, a few more weeks down the line (am only 7+1 today) because at 3, he might just understand that he needs to support mummy. Maybe!

wispaxmas · 24/10/2013 21:32

Yep, currently sat at ebbsfleet international. Really wish I was getting off here and getting a can home. Less than half hour from here, but nooooo, I have to go to st pancras and then get the tube and trains back south Angry next time I will plan this better.

For ladies, who struggle with nausea! This is a guideline from health care of Canada with practical tips on how to manage morning sickness. It has lots and lots of good tips:

MarlenaGru · 24/10/2013 22:03

Ah yes, that is a pain wispa

I have booked (well I got DH to) a viability scan for next Friday. Will feel so much less like it is a dream if I can see something there. Bricking it though.

Bumblebeesmum · 24/10/2013 22:26

You are more likely to get flu (which is not a nasty cold) whilst pregnant than in other years & it can be extremely serious and life threatening for your unborn child. I'm just pleased to live in a country that spends so much letting me be vaccinated for free - I've seen people on other forums having to weigh up healthcare options vs cost. I'll also have to have nasty anti d jabs as I'm rhesus negative blood type - now they hurt yuk yuk yuk!!

superlambanana · 24/10/2013 22:28

Wow, I feel like such a dunce! I wouldn't even know where to start getting a scan earlier than 12 weeks... Though it sounds good for an impatient and worrisome person like me! I keep having abdominal twinges and other symptoms - headaches, mouth watering, really thirsty - but I've no idea if these are even related!

I feel like such a novice!! Blush

Bumblebeesmum · 24/10/2013 22:31

Mummysparkle feel your pain! I so want to collapse on sofa when I get home but instead chase my toddler round the house (it's become a bit of a thing - don't ask ha!) can't see me keeping it up at 8 months preggers although it would look hilarious :)

wispaxmas · 24/10/2013 22:32

Pjen!!! Are you okay?!

OP posts:
MrsB2013 · 24/10/2013 22:35

Thanks ladies, glad I'm not the only one not sure on having the jab! I have had flu a couple of times and I also had bronchitis 3 1/2 years ago. Will see what the doctor says, will hopefully get an appointment tomorrow!

Good luck for your scan wispa

Can I ask you to help me with my cycle days:

29th July - CD1 of pill withdrawal bleed
28th Aug - CD1 of proper af
24th Sep - CD1 2nd af

Would you say first cycle is 30 or 31days? And 2nd cycle 27 or 28 days? I used 2 different apps and they say different days? I know it probably wont make much difference to due date.

seatfor5 · 24/10/2013 22:43

Evening all my goodness I have had a really crap couple of days! The MS is just stupid and now I have a mouth ful of ulcers so cant swollow, eat or drink :( this little rotter lol.

Welcome to all the new ladies we have an eventful journey ahead :)

Good Luck Wispa for tomorrow x

superlambanana · 24/10/2013 23:31

Hmm Seatfor5, that sounds nasty! Are you able to swill salt water round your mouth for the ulcers or will it make you more sick?

I am stressing so much about all the things that could go wrong... Somebody slap me!

PJen · 25/10/2013 01:46

Thanks for asking Wispa. I still don't know :( my bleeding stopped and I am planning to go to Dr on Monday and ask for a scan. Will let you know. Xx
