When will this MS pass?? Fed up now. Feeling sick as a pig.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/09/2013 17:14

It's shit Wonder. Though I managed a whole tin of tomato soup today

Wonder77 · 20/09/2013 17:16

Actually just read a thread on severe morning sickness. I should stop moaning!

Wonder77 · 20/09/2013 17:17

Thanks though nomaybe

Hi all,
Had my 16-week appointment with the consultant today. It was all a bit pointless after an hour-long wait to be seen. It took a good few minutes and two dopplers to find the heartbeat and I was getting a bit worried but she got it in the end, which was reassuring but also annoying as she said if she couldn't find it she would get the scanner out and I was hoping for a sneaky peek, and possibly finding out the sex.

Have a million other appointments booked over the next couple of months, including vbac clinic (doctor told me that obv we'll be aiming for a completely natural birth this time. Erm, no, I want an elcs, which she wasn't particularly supportive of Hmm), glucose tolerance test, scan and another consultant appt. sigh.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 20/09/2013 17:30

wonder I don't think the fact that it could be worse means that you shouldn't complain. I am a million times better than three of my previous pregnancies (hospital admissions each time, still have flash backs from a particularly bad hospital experience during which DH thought I might die and last pregnancy I spent virtually an entire eight months in bed) but I still hate it and am fed up and would love to have even an hour of feeling normal. I also think that women shouldn't be made to suffer without being given the option of medication just because it's "normal" and they're not seriously ill.

SoSurprised · 20/09/2013 17:32

I have been so hungry this week, eating everything in sight, and my stomach grumbles so loudly if I haven't eaten for a couple of hours. Also had a look through my notes with the midwife and according to the measurements my due dat is correct so am 16+5 rather than 17+5 :(

Wonder77 · 20/09/2013 17:35

Thanks bwp - I'm just conscious I have it mildly really but still rubbish when I am feeling sick! Sounds like you had it bad on your pregnancies:(

Wonder77 · 20/09/2013 17:36

I'm always hungry too so and doesn't my mirror show the effects of that!

Wonder77 · 20/09/2013 17:37

That is good lyra . Sounds like you have a lot of appointments coming up !:)

rescoonetwothree · 20/09/2013 18:24

flu jabs - sorry if we've done this before and i've missed it, when are we meant to have them?! is it based on how far along we are or is there a certain time of year we're meant to have them by?

lyra i thought because you've had a c section before they have to give you the option of one again?! sounds bloody annoying but push for what you want!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/09/2013 18:40

Grey all pregnant ladies are offered one, but vaccines don't come in till October x

HotCrossPun · 20/09/2013 18:42

Thanks everyone. I feel better knowing that a lot of you have had it and its not uncommon. Its not as sore now.

rescoonetwothree · 20/09/2013 18:42

ahh ok thanks maybe, i just saw on feb they've got appointments/booked in for them didnt know if i was meant to do it yet or if thats cause they're ahead in pregnancy!

lumpylumps · 20/09/2013 19:17

Evening all!! I have energy. I didn't realise just how tired I'd been. A usual Friday I'd drag myself home, shout at the boys put them to bed early and crash! Tonight I've cleaned, tidied, been nice to the boys and feel great!!

Placenta, ended up in theatre with ds1 due to retained placenta, turn out the great oaf of a consultant pulled the cord of in his haste to pull it out after ds was born!!! Ds2, injection, no oaf, easy placenta delivery. Would never keep it tho!!

Fingers crossed saggy stay positive.

MummyPig24 · 20/09/2013 19:19

grey I'm having my flu jab next weekend. I had a letter through with my second scan date to say I was eligible for a flu jab so I phoned and booked it. Then I have my 16 week appointment two days later. I hope the mw can find the hb under my flab!

I'm sleepy and achy and hungry. I've been permanently hungry for the last few days, my body must be making up for the weeks of barely being able to eat.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 20/09/2013 20:14

I think how your flu jab is arranged just depends on how your surgery organises it. I wasn't offered it last time but I had flu at six weeks pregnant anyway.

IceNoSlice · 20/09/2013 20:22

Lyra, what is a VBAC clinic? I think I'm aiming for a VBAC but haven't heard of a clinic before. I am seeing a consultant in 2 weeks so maybe we'll discuss it then.

LyraSilvertongue · 20/09/2013 20:56

Ice, I didn't know such a thing existed either until today. I expect they're going to tell me all about having a vbac and try to persuade me to have one. I've done it before and it went wrong so I have no desire to do it again.

Grey, at my previous appointment the midwife seemed to think it wouldn't be a problem to have the elcs but this doctor seemed surprised that I wanted one and said it would be decided when I'm further along. Erm no, I have already decided and it is up to me, not them.

Jolleigh · 20/09/2013 21:22

So - should I decide I like the look of the job I was talking about, my job security wouldn't be affected as they're willing to offer it as a secondment in the first instance. Decisions decisions...

faithfulandtruthful · 20/09/2013 21:26

MTB thanks for the spreadsheets. My EDD is now the 10th March, its currently down on the Spreadsheet as my pre scan date. To be honest I could have told them that I was due two days earlier as I have 26 day cycles!

F&T

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 20/09/2013 21:55

MTB for your stats, I am 38 and have2 DCs. Smile

IceNoSlice · 20/09/2013 21:57

Jolls re: the job. I obv don't know the details but, as you have said your job security -and I assume mat leave entitlement etc - will not be affected then I would say go for it.

If it's a step in the right direction and the job appeals to you. Some folks would probably say to consider which would be better after mat leave, for part time working etc. But I'd say that 6-12 months (or however long mat leave you take) is quite a long time and a lot can change. From reading threads on here, a lot of women seem to be very frustrated when they go back to a role and part time work (FT but trying to fit in new commitments). You might change your outlook, colleagues may leave, all sorts can happen.

I guess the point I am trying to make is Carpe Diem, seize the day. If it's the right thing for you to do for the next 5 months or so, then do it.

That's just me though. My control freak super organised SIL manoeuvred herself into a role she could see would work on a PT basis before she even got upduffed.

Coolhand · 20/09/2013 22:00

Saggy hope you're doing okay.

End of the week and I'm tired. Had a bit of an argument with a colleague today but my patience is short and she was talking nonsense. Anyone else finding their tolerance levels to be really low or am I the only grumpy one these days?

Prambo · 20/09/2013 22:14

Coolhand, I'm grumpy as fuck, but what's new? Grin Anyone talking nonsense deserves a tongue lashing, right?
