Teddy that is just so sad and traumatic :(.

Total so pleased for you! Fingers crossed for your full ones now x

Prambo · 20/09/2013 12:40

Would it be bad form of me to request that we have no more stories about late pregnancy losses? I find them frightening and unhelpful.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/09/2013 12:41

Oh Total, what amazing news. Now you can have a relaxing weekend. Hope you have so etching nice planned x

Teddy that's awful Sad

Good luck MTB, hope it all goes smoothly

Abi my 20 week scan isn't until the 5th November. We can sit the wait out together though I am having a beaky gender scan on the 16th October

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/09/2013 12:43

I'm agreeing with you Prambalaya

Ooh, I'm on my first too Smile

Prambo · 20/09/2013 12:54

Total what glorious news!

Have fun, MTB, and be careful.

mimili · 20/09/2013 12:58

How exciting for those that are feeling flutters and kicks. I thought I had flutters a few days ago. They matched peoples descriptions of flutters spot on. But i've had nothing since. I'm not supposed to be worried am i?

When did anyone on their 1st baby first feel kicks?

BadlyWrittenPoem · 20/09/2013 13:01

Pram I totally get what you mean and would agree that stories about people we happen to know who have had late losses don't need to be mentioned (I understand people needing to talk about them though - just think this isn't really the right audience) and I would never do so myself but what about those of us who have had later losses ourselves occasionally referencing them because they are relevent to the current pregnancy? I'd prefer to be allowed to but am happy to go with whatever the consensus is.

MummyPig24 · 20/09/2013 13:03

Amazing news total!

justmuddlingthroughit · 20/09/2013 13:04

Great news total!

Abi, I'm also having my first. How old is your DC1?

20 week scan not till 7th November, so I'll be sat anxiously twiddling my thumbs along with abi and nomaybe. Hmmph. ~impatient~

BadlyWrittenPoem · 20/09/2013 13:04

Mimili I think the official line is 16-20 weeks being typical with 18-20 for a first pregnancy. Mone have been 19, 15, 17 and 14 weeks. Third one was an anterior placenta which I think is why I felt them later. I don't think at this stage one would be expected to be able to observe regular movements though.

rescoonetwothree · 20/09/2013 13:04

yay total!

first for me too!

mimili i thought i had flutters a week or so ago but nothing since, i don't think its anything to worry about!

I'm with greeneggsandpram on this one its starting to terrify me !

Prambo · 20/09/2013 13:05

I absolutely understand the need for people to tell their stories if it happened to them personally and I am more than willing to listen and sympathise. I just don't want to hear about randoms.

Rockchick1984 · 20/09/2013 13:06

Re discussion of late loss, my personal opinion is that if its one of us who has experienced it then I have no problem with it being discussed, however I would prefer not to read about folks I don't know going through such a traumatic experience. I know I was very conscious of discussing my MMC before everyone had their 12 week scans and I'm pretty sure everyone on here would also be aware of how things come across.

Rockchick1984 · 20/09/2013 13:06

Mimi I was 17 weeks with DS when I first felt his flutters - 13 weeks this time :)

BadlyWrittenPoem · 20/09/2013 13:07

Abi, how big is your age gap? I have a big gap (just over five years) between my first two because I planned a bigger gap due to the hyperemesis and then had losses but this one will only be 19 months after the second as it was unexpected.

Prambo · 20/09/2013 13:07

Greeneggs??! Grin

Mimil, this is my first baby and I haven't felt it move yet and I am 17 wks tomorrow Smile

rescoonetwothree · 20/09/2013 13:07

(also just to clarify, not including relating to one of those on here's experiences)

Prambo · 20/09/2013 13:08

Oh, Moosey, I'm so fick! Greeneggsandpram is me! Grin

BadlyWrittenPoem · 20/09/2013 13:08

Thanks Pram and Rock - just thought I should check.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 20/09/2013 13:09

Glad it wasn't just me - I was looking back to see who *greeneggs" was and what they'd said!

rescoonetwothree · 20/09/2013 13:10

green eggs and pram

PainAuxRaisins · 20/09/2013 13:11

Yes these late pregnancy losses are just heartbreaking. I swing between total excitement about having a 3rd and then complete fear about being one of the tiny percentage of unlucky people who lose a baby so late. Thank you to whoever posted about the 'Sands' website though - the friends/family section gives some good advice. In the past I have found it very hard to know what to say or do to friends in this situation - so scared of saying the wrong thing. It's good to know that kind of website and support group is there if we need it. Well done to Saggy for getting through yesterday - there are lots of ladies on here with their fingers crossed for you! Hooray to Total too.

IceNoSlice · 20/09/2013 13:14

Ok this is a bit random but... What page are you all on? My phone says we have 923 messages and on page 38. Which makes no sense to me. I thought threads had a max 1000 msgs/25 per page/40 pages. Is it my phone? Thanks.

Prambo · 20/09/2013 13:17

Ice, you are correct but sometimes threads end at 39 pages or whatever.

Moosey, greeneggsandpram is very clever of you . I've never read any Dr. Seuss and so it is me who is being dim.

PainAuxRaisins · 20/09/2013 13:19

Green Eggs and Ham - genius! For 1st time mums this book must be an essential. It stopped my kids being super fussy with food (all about this little man who refuses to try the aforementioned green eggs and ham....after some gentle persuasion he tries it and LOVES it!). Now my kids will try all manner of foods that they wouldn't before. I just wish they had a book that encouraged staying in their own bed at night.
