Ok, I can't see a May thread in here so I guess I will start one! According to the NHS due date calculator my EDD is actually 30th April but I think that makes me more likely to be having a May baby anyway!

Am feeling very tentative about starting this thread as I had a mc in June and it's very early days for this one but...anyone want to come and chat through these nerve-wracking first few days?

OP posts:

Hey all, I'm in central London too. I have virtually no symptoms except being super sleepy all the time.
I was walking on air for a few days after I found out, now I seem to have moved into a state of disbelief. After 3 years of trying, i was 4 weeks away from starting fertility treatment! Very delighted!! x

ItalianWiking84 · 15/09/2013 18:29

Thanks for all the welcomes :) all is new to me especially since I'm from Denmark so know nothing about how it works over here

BroodyTroody · 15/09/2013 18:34

Congratulations Rebecca! Thanks

In my area you self refer, so call the midwives directly to book scans etc, I guess it cuts out the middle man.

I know what you mean about not feeling pg, only thing I'm feeling is a bit nauseous, and I've got a really strong sense of smell!

CoventGarden75 · 15/09/2013 18:51

Rebecca which hospital are you going to? I'm at UCH. 4 years TTC here, PG thanks to treatment.

moominleigh94 · 15/09/2013 18:52

Got a meeting with lecturers on Wednesday to talk about the situation... so nervous.

Chip86 · 15/09/2013 18:55

Welcome italian and congratulations

Hi coffee im in west london to how exciting

Agree with the others stay off Dr google, the NHS site is very good though

Cybercat · 15/09/2013 18:57

Evening all, do you have room for one more? I've been a long time lurker on MN but this is my first post, I joined so I could post here too! I will be 5 weeks (based on LMP) tomorrow and this is my first pregnancy, should be due May 20th. We had only just started TTC as I was concerned about my age (35) and previous issues but it was the first time that did it! I am now having slight panics as when we agreed to start I thought that I had already ovulated and we were too late so I have had some alcohol in the meantime. I can be a bit of a worrier.

Am feeling good, some occasional mild nausea and intermittent abdominal feelings (can't really call them cramps). I flit from being so excited to wondering if I've made it all up in my head!

lolablu · 15/09/2013 19:05

cybercat my BFP was a first time, a little later after ovulating (on honeymoon :P and it was the first time ttc.

Im due 3 days after you :)

welcome

Cybercat · 15/09/2013 19:09

Thank you!! I've already told too many people so if I post here it might keep me under control until things are further on Smile

Chip86 · 15/09/2013 19:22

Welcome cybercat and congratulations

Cybercat · 15/09/2013 19:29

Thank you. Can I digress and ask a question? Can you jump to your last post in a thread so that you don't have to keep remembering the page number? I've seen people say that they are place marking but I can't worl out how.

AliOh · 15/09/2013 19:35

Welcome cybercat and congrats on your BFP :)

rebeccax2 · 15/09/2013 19:37

Hey coffee I don't know yet. I've not even made a doctors appointment yet - tomorrow I have to get onto everything. Congratulations on your result. It must be such wonderful news after such a wait.

Cyber I can't stop telling people. I'm so excited! We have the same Due Date BTW! I'm 5 weeks tomorrow.

Cybercat · 15/09/2013 19:47

Thank you rebecca, I will be comparing notes with you. It's such a lottery isn't it, I feel a bit guilty saying that it happened straight away when others don't. I've read back up that page a bit and your BFP is even more special as you've been so patient.

ThePFJ · 15/09/2013 20:03

Hi girls!!

I absolutely love all the names you have picked out.... and thanks for the laughs last night!!

I have been clumsy all day... I dropped the peas all over the floor.. I tried pealing potatoes and pealed off some of my finger.... (not much - but ow) I dropped a plate... I am giving up in the kitchen now for a bit..... who knows what I might cause next!! Hmm

Welcome to the new gals.... we have some great company on this thread..... I remember on my first ante natal thread 5 years ago..... when we were all popping like mad and sharing birth stories..... we were even counting eachother's contractions, trying to work out when it was time to get down to the hospital!! Sigh.........

Shrek is on tonight so I might get me some of that, my tivo box is taking care of it.... I love that damn thing....

Hugs and Kisses girls xxxxxxxx AND CAKE Wink

Chip86 · 15/09/2013 20:32

moominleigh94 · 15/09/2013 20:34

Ahh don't mention cake, OH knows I'm feeling poorly tonight - he's just brought me up a dead fly biscuit (don't know what the proper name is for them) - and I groaned and said "I'll maybe eat it later".... Sad

ThePFJ · 15/09/2013 20:43

Mmmmmm dead flies...... ribbit Confused I have jelly babies if you fancy something more fruity?

Hope your OH keeps helping you in the kitchen Chip... maybe you could just drop everything like me and look forlorn??!

AliOh · 15/09/2013 20:43

ThePFJ I have been the same today!!! Everything I have touched I have broken! Smashed a glass bowl, managed to snap the leg off the clothes horse!?! And my mum bought the dog a new squeaky toy and I managed to break the squeak haha whoops!

moomin can you shed some light on a dead fly biscuit? They don't sound too tasty :S

mumof2aimingfor4 · 15/09/2013 20:44

Hi ladies, can I join you?!

Congratulations to all Smile

As you can see from name I am carrying number three. Due on 22nd May according to NHS calculator.

Felt nauseas on and off since Friday so figured the seed had been sown. Nausea is fine with me though, means those lovely hormones are doing their job!

Xxx

LongTailedTit · 15/09/2013 20:46

Ooh squashed fly biscuits! I'd forgotten them, they're fab for the lighter levels of nausea, I ate tons last time.

Garibaldi biscuits

moominleigh94 · 15/09/2013 20:47

Gabaraldi or something? But I don't think the name on the packet was so posh... Umm this is what it looks like Grin

fc09.deviantart.net/fs41/f/2009/016/1/a/Squashed_Fly_Biscuits_by_Revenues.jpg

moominleigh94 · 15/09/2013 20:49

Just realised... they're called Fruit Shortcakes. Nowhere near as posh as Garibaldy. It looks so nice but the thought of eating it is making me feel blurgh.

lolablu · 15/09/2013 20:50

much prefer dead fly biscuits to 'fruit shortcake'.

moominleigh94 · 15/09/2013 20:54

They've always been dead fly biscuits in my house lola which might explain why I don't know what they're called. Oh and Malted Milk are cow biscuits Grin
