Ok, I can't see a May thread in here so I guess I will start one! According to the NHS due date calculator my EDD is actually 30th April but I think that makes me more likely to be having a May baby anyway!

Am feeling very tentative about starting this thread as I had a mc in June and it's very early days for this one but...anyone want to come and chat through these nerve-wracking first few days?

Rebecca I don't know how anyone keeps it secret - it's just so obvious! Everyone I knew, including colleagues, guessed long before I was twelve weeks last time and loads of people know now I'm seven weeks. I prefer that people know as it means more support when I feel so crappy. My sister refused to confirm both of her pregnancies until thirteen weeks but we all knew - it was farcical as it was so obvious but we couldn't talk about it.

Ali I always had loads of girls' names but couldn't think of a boy's name. Then after the first scan, a boy's name just clicked into place from nowhere - he did turn out to be a boy and we found out at twenty weeks so never had to debate names at all! This time I have no idea for either gender!

Also, can't believe this thread was so busy up til midnight last night! I have conked out on the sofa by 9pm at the latest every night for the past three weeks! Where is all your energy coming from ladies???

I'm much more with NannyPlum on the overwhelming feeling of fatigue and general negativity, wish I could just sleep until the second trimester!

Morning I'm feeling really sick this morning

Sparkles23 · 15/09/2013 07:48

Morning all, hope everyone is well? As predicted my nausea/sickness has started to kick in now, feeling awful and gone off food and I know it will get worse Hmm, but looking at it as a positive sign that the preg is strong again. The only difference this time is I have a 3 year old to run after as well as working ft so can't just go to bed when I get in from work!! I'm going to stock up on soup, last time that was the one food that seemed to agree with me, that and crusty bread! I found last time that keeping sweets in my bag helped for commuting, especially if standing on a packed train, it just seems to push the nausea away and gives a small sugar hit which helps, so I've a bag of M&S fruit sherbets in my handbag and they are v tasty too! Tomorrow I've got doc appointment to tell them I'm in pregnant so looking forward to getting the ball rolling and getting booked in in a few weeks time!

moominleigh94 · 15/09/2013 08:47

I struggle to stay awake past 11 these days! My nocturnal student life is well and truly over Grin

My nausea is ok this morning, pretty sure it'll kick in again soon but hopefully it'll keep off for the day, doing medieval re-enactment in a castle with OH and his family Hmm

moominleigh94 · 15/09/2013 08:53

Only just gone through the thread and found your question PFJ

Edward (Teddy) for a boy. I liked Theodore because he can go by Theo as he grows up, but Edward is a name in OH's family.

Saffron for a girl. Just because it's pretty Grin

Lollywig · 15/09/2013 08:54

Morning ladies.

I am staring to worry a little as really have no symptoms, I didn't have much to start with but they're definitely getting less/ disappeared. I feel totally bloody fine. The nausea I thought i had on fri was just in my head I think. I've had no bleeding but am going to test this week in the run up to my first midwife appt on Thurs and also talk to her about it.

I was busy all day yesterday, didn't stop rushing round all day, then friends arrived, we went to the theatre, came home and I stayed up chatting with them til 1am and felt fine. Could've stayed up longer except the pissed/sober divide was starting to feel a bit obvious! Only pg-like thing is that I woke about 6am and haven't been able to get back to sleep. But that may just be cos I'm worrying about all this.

Anyone else feel or felt completely fine at this stage of pregnancy? I am 6 wks tomorrow.

On a happier note - PFJ... I love the name Elsa, it's beautiful. I too have many girls names that I love but struggle more with boys. If/when I can confirm that I still actually am pg I will happily spend hours talking baby names!

5+6

Lollywig · 15/09/2013 08:55

Cross post Moomin. More lovely names!

moominleigh94 · 15/09/2013 09:05

Thanks lolly :)

I only had mild nausea until 6 weeks, I found out I was pg at six weeks exactly when I tested on the off-chance - I thought I had a UTI or something and wanted to do a test just in case seeing as I'd skipped a month.

I think it's normal - at least, it was for me, and the next day I had two very very strong positive tests Grin it really kicked in at the start of week 7 for me.

CoventGarden75 · 15/09/2013 09:12

Morning All,

Lolly same here, No symptoms, at all at 7+5, maybe just not much appetite. My 5 month PG colleague MS started at 8 weeks. I am a pessimist at heart but try not to worry, if something goes wrong, I'll be devastated no matter how much I've prepared myself for it.

Jelly Up till midnight but still in bed at 9!

thistlelicker · 15/09/2013 09:12

I don't know about the rest of u but for me it's dragging! I've known for three weeks and I'm only 6+2 !!!

AliOh · 15/09/2013 09:30

Oh wow, definitely missed out last night! The PFJyour posts have had me giggling this morning! Had to sleep though bed was calling and managed to get a lush 12 hours :) despite the dog taking up most of the bed!

Lolly I wouldn't worry, I'm 5+6 today too and my symptoms are coming and going, have random bouts of nausea and sickness (had one really bad day/night so far) and my boobs are sore one minute and fine the next, I'm not even finding that I need to get up in the night and pee anymore - hopefully just my body getting used to the changes? I think hope it's all normal.

For girls names I like Sophia Erin or Emilie Grace, maybe change the middle names. For boys I like Freddie or Harry but not too sure yet. DP is irish so would like an irish name but all the ones I like are spelt the irish way and think it would cause confusion!

Chip86 · 15/09/2013 09:30

Good morning all
Still in bed too Smile
Only symptom i have are massive painfull boobs and period like cramps in evening my DM said she never got MS so im hoping to take after her Smile
Moomin i love your girl and boy names

Lollywig · 15/09/2013 09:35

Thanks girls. Sounds like I am over-reacting a bit. It's still v early days after all.

What is great, is being up on a Sunday with no hangover!

Enjoy your day everyone x

Chip86 · 15/09/2013 09:36

alioh more lovely names first and middle names sound lovly together i think it is normal for symptoms to come and go, just to give us somthing else to worry about

Im 5+5

YikesHereWeGo · 15/09/2013 09:39

Me too thistle - 6+2 today but have known for aaaaaages. Am pondering saying something to my boss this week as I'm crap at hiding being pg. last time I announced I was 12 weeks pg to her she just nodded and had a look on her face that said "you're not telling me anything I don't already know, you fool!" It was all a bit embarrassing. At least if she knows then I won't have to lie about getting time off for antenatal appointments and if the worst happens then it will be less disruptive. Hmm. But on the flip side I don't see why I should tell work before I tell my family. Dilemmas. Confused

CoventGarden75 · 15/09/2013 10:04

Yikes high five for dilemma.
Blaming my knees for stopping exercising from on day to the next. Blaming weight gain on lack of exercise. Blaming change of wardrobe on weight gain. But not sure anyone is buying it at work. On the other hand, family live far away so is not aware of any changes.

impatientlywaiting · 15/09/2013 10:13

I third, fourth and fifth everyone who has said how slowly the time is going!! 7+1 today but feel like I've known for months.

I told my sister yesterday as she asked me outright so it was nice to talk about it. She's so excited too. Think I have to tell some friends next week when I'm 8 weeks as ages ago we planned a night out for next week and they'll know something is up if I'm not drinking.

JessicaRRRabbit · 15/09/2013 12:23

Can't believe how fast the thread is filling up! I did enjoy catching up on last night's posts over breakfast - thanks for the laffs ladies.

I just had to ring a friend to let her know I can't make her hen party (long weekend in Ibiza!) as Baby Rabbit will be 4 weeks at that point - am torn between Grin and Envy as I was so looking forward to it! I've already had to duck out of bridesmaid duties for my best friend as her wedding's the same week as EDD - we're both upset about it but totally think it's the right thing to do. Starting to think our timing was a bit off here Blush

So far the people who know are: immediate family, best friends and the party animal hen. Absolutely no one else to know before 12 weeks though! Grin

CoffeeGuzzler · 15/09/2013 12:33

Happy Sunday everyone.

The shock of BFP has finally lifted. (upduffed first month ttc...had mentally prepared for months of dtd). I am insanely happy today. Grin

Rebecca no idea how to keep the secret. I told my mum and mum-in-law. Funnily, dh's sister, brother's wife and me...all three of us are pg at the moment!! The Great Breen Baby Bonanza, FIL said.

I love Juliette!!!!

impatientlywaiting · 15/09/2013 12:37

Ooh, loving the work of whoever added all of the graphs to the stats thread.
Love a good graph.

CoffeeGuzzler · 15/09/2013 12:39

Lolly you aren't alone in having no symptoms. All I have is mild cramps and a loss of appetite. I am sure everything is fine. It's still very early days and the severity of pg symptoms vary greatly from one person to the next.

OrangeMochaFrappucino · 15/09/2013 13:18

I've totally missed the stats thread! Where is it?

Moomin that's my son's name! It's a family name too :)
