Ok, I can't see a May thread in here so I guess I will start one! According to the NHS due date calculator my EDD is actually 30th April but I think that makes me more likely to be having a May baby anyway!

Am feeling very tentative about starting this thread as I had a mc in June and it's very early days for this one but...anyone want to come and chat through these nerve-wracking first few days?

Hey all, so lovely to see so many familiar names :-) I have jumped off the August bus as received my BFP this morning!!! So please can I join your May thread as I believe (via goggle) I am due May 5th,
hope you are all having happy and healthy weeks so far xx

CityGal29 · 25/08/2013 20:42

Hey has anyone else put on weight? Looks like I've put on over a stone in 2wks?? But scales might be broken. So bloated. This is 3rd DC. Husband said is it twins but doubt it?! LolConfused

LongTailedTit · 25/08/2013 20:56

Welcome McBaby & Beautiful!

Glad to hear you've tried one of the monitors - I'm getting very tempted to buy one.
It can all feel so unreal in the first few months, no bump, no kicks, plus I had a small bump last time so just looked like I had a pot belly til 5 months!

Beaut - DS was born on 5th of May, tis an excellent day to be born, and this one's due on the 4th - timing eh!

bouncysmiley · 25/08/2013 21:18

Congratulations and hello all - Just found out I'm pregnant with number 2! I'm due May 6th. So excited! I had been charting and suspected i might be, but I took a test this morning because I slept for 3 hours in the middle of the day yesterday and had to cancel our babysitters and planned night out I was so knackered!

Nessalina · 25/08/2013 23:00

Hey ladies Smile
Have had a lovely day with my parents who are over the shell-shocked stage & are getting quite excited by possibility of grandchild.
They've pretty much already decided to rent a holiday cottage for the whole family in St Ives for next September, lol! It's cute. Feel very excited today, but keep getting pangs of panic when my brain tells me 'this could all be temporary' and not to get carried away. At what point do I get to stop worrying and just be pregnant?! Confused
5+4 1st DC

impatientlywaiting · 26/08/2013 01:18

Hello and congratulations to the new BFPs. Our little group is getting a lot fuller over the past few days.
4+2

EmJay9 · 26/08/2013 06:41

Morning newbies and congrats on your bfp. Well apart from being wide awake so early I did sleep better last night! Woke once and had slight cramps in abdomen. nessalina I know just what you mean, about the excitement and panic we can we just enjoy being pregnant! I have moments of excitement and then panic all the time wish I just knew everything was gonna be ok!
4+6

Allypallyjelly · 26/08/2013 07:36

Congrats to all BFPs! So pleased to see many ppl joining this thread!
Nessalina - same here. I still test every morning and will probably stop tomorrow once I've seen the midwife. The only good thing is that the clearblue digital had changed from 2-3 wks (17dpo) to 3+ wks today (19dpo) which hopefully means that hcg has increased fingers x. I had a v emotional and crying session last night when I had lots of darkish pink discharge thinking..OMG that's it.. Now that I've told the in laws I really hope this bean will stick. Haven't had much symptoms other than in the same boat as emjay with insomnia which i never had before this! Waking up at 3 am in the last week is not v cool but I guess it's a practice and a taste of what's to come!!

YikesHereWeGo · 26/08/2013 11:47

Hello everyone. Please can I join you; I got my BFP this morning Grin
Feeling very 'tentative' at this stage (3+6) but still hopeful so have name-changed back from 'somedaysoon'. Have had 2 false-starts since we started ttc in jan 2012 but it's third time lucky, right? I always wanted a Taurus baby, so I've got my fingers tightly crossed. Good luck to all the rest of the May gang Smile

evalluna · 26/08/2013 12:00

Hi, can I join? Expecting surprise/shock third baby at end of April/beginning of May and just trying to get used to the idea! Both my children were late arriving so anticipate this one might be too. I am currently 5+5 and feeling as if i am permanently hungover, which is a bit depressing - with my previous 2 pregnancies I had all day nausea till about 12 weeks, so feels similar. Congratulations to everyone and good luck.

PixieBumbles · 26/08/2013 16:21

Hi everyone! I got my bfp yesterday. According to the NHS calculator mini pixie is due on 4th May. I'm ridiculously excited. just feeling very tired and headachey at the moment!

Nessalina · 26/08/2013 19:20

More people! Hurrah! Grin Congratulations ThanksThanks
I have just had proper rage at my DH coz he couldn't find a DVD that I really wanted to watch Blush Am blaming the hormones!! Have gone to bed in a huff Grin

hamncheese · 26/08/2013 19:24

Lots of may babies yay!

Waves to mcbaby ;)

I'm sure everyone will feel more secure after their scans... I didn't feel very worried last time due to the sickness reminding me all was as should be... Will be worried if it doesn't appear soon I suppose!

Anyone else v v angry? Totally, in a fit of rage at our new dishwasher which always leave a sandy residue on everything, I threw all the tupperwares out the cupboard across the room Blush

Does anyone have a feeling about the sex? I felt DS was a boy and think this one is a girl but may just be wishful thinking and I will look like a spoon in nine months time!

hamncheese · 26/08/2013 19:25

Aha nessalina rage ditto :)

EmJay9 · 26/08/2013 20:32

Hi all, welcome newbies and congrats! Quick question for anyone who can put my mind at ease. Today I have been out for the day, did quite a lot of walking around. When walking back to the car I had a really bad stitch like pain in my right side, lasted until I got to the car and then for some of the journey home? I consider myself fairly fit and active and wouldn't usually get a stitch just from walking. Really worried me at the time, is it anything for concern?
4+6

OrangeMochaFrappucino · 26/08/2013 21:03

Hi to all the newbies! Congratulations!

EmJay I don't know about the stitch thing but it could be a consequence of things stretchingand making room?

Someone upthread said about weight gain - I don't dare go near the scales but I am so bloated and can't stop eating!

According to the internet I am 4+5 today and like everyone else really nervous. Roll on the scans!

OP posts:
OrangeMochaFrappucino · 26/08/2013 21:06

Oh and lots of rage! I am really unreasonable at the moment and keep feeling upset and guilty later.

No idea about the sex, my gut feeling was completely wrong last time so not guessing this time!

OP posts:
McBaby · 26/08/2013 21:09

hamandcheese I think this time it's a boy rather than a girl as I feel less sick .... Or maybe that is still to come.

I need to try and arrange my dating scan tomorrow my doc submitted an urgent request at the start of last week but have heard nothing but presumably the hospital are as disorganised as last time.

beautifulboy I am guessing you have not outed yourself on August thread or have I missed something.

MacCrackles · 27/08/2013 09:15

Hi ladies

Would love to join you. I had bfp yesterday morning but it was so feint my DH had to provide a second opinion! The instructions say even if feint it's still positive though so fx!

MiniCrackles will (fx still) be DC3. I haven't had many symptoms yet except v v sore breasts & a queasy feeling some afternoons and a few migraines, oh and v v tired & a bit irritable!!

Think I'm only 3+3 which seems ridiculously early. Lmp was Aug 3rd and I have average cycles of 24 days so can that be right? Gives me EDD of between 7-11 May depending on whether cycle taken into account. If approx conception date put into calculator it's the earlier date. Might have to double check with another hpt! I may not be around long ladies begins to doubt self yet both of us saw +ve.

impatientlywaiting · 27/08/2013 11:36

Hi MacCrackles,
Welcome and congratulations.
3+3 is so early, I found out 3+5 and it feels like the days go sooooo slowly.

I was off to Germany visiting friends the day I found out which I was pleased about as it meant I wasn't thinking about pregnancy all of the time.

Going to pop down to the doctors today and pick up a pot to pee into so I can register pregnancy. Had an early miscarriage in July so want to make sure this one is officially recognised in case the worst was to happen again, at least I would be a step closer to getting doctors to look into it.

I was briefly on the due in March thread and they had a stats thread as well as a general chat one. Whenever people joined the thread then the stats page was updated so it was easy to see when people were due, whether it was first DC or what number it was, and I think they out info like age in there too.

Would people be interested in doing something like that for us May-bies?

4 weeks + 3

MacCrackles · 27/08/2013 12:09

Hi Impatiently and everyone!

Glad to hear I'm not the only early early one!! It seemed wrong when I looked at the calendar! I hope your trip to Germany was lovely? I found out early with my others but ended up being outside the 14 week window for nucual (?) scan as they didn't take my dates into account! Dating scan obv settled that and my dates moved forward 5 days!

I like the idea of a stats page and love May-bies!

3+3

emjay I remember that stitch thing first time round. Not had nearly as much in the way of that this time so far... Maybe because the muscles are all stretched out already haha!

reallyred sorry about your last pg :( my widwife would do heartbeat at each check up following the booking in appointment (which was just the scan) so every few weeks. I know its sometimes advised against getting a Doppler incase you can't get a heartbeat and it scares you... Like if you just can't get it on the right bit of your bump not that there is anything wrong...

So angry still. DS in cot not sleeping... Trying not to get irritated! Poor baby!

impatientlywaiting · 27/08/2013 15:43

So sorry for your loss Reallyred. How far along are you with this pregnancy?

Is anyone experiencing any nausea or morning sickness yet? I've started to feel really light headed when I stand up, but no nausea just yet. I'm also exhausted. We had a great weekend in Germany, but it was so funny as out of the four days DH and our friends were really hungover and we just stayed in our friends house watching DVDs and eating. I hadn't been drinking but felt as hungover as everyone else. They kept apologising for not being up for anything as they were so rough, but I was loving the chance to catch up on some sleep.

LittleBairn · 27/08/2013 16:07

It's reallyred I posted in wrong name.

I'm not 100% sure because I ovulate late but I think I'm 4+2.
That's the reason why we didnt get a Doppler last time but I feel of us the benefits out weight the negative now. My son died due to my waters completely going so its not like suddenly died in utro. But I agree for some it might cause more more stress so best avoid for most.

I'm not sure how much of midwives I will see as I'm under consultant care and frankly the community midwives hear are dreadful and I will be giving them a wide bearth.

impatiently I have no sickness yet it started at 6/7 weeks last time I had hypermisser so enjoying my food for now. Last time I lost a stone and a half! Who knew pregancy could be good for your waist line.

Anyway I will repost my first post because I've asked it to be deleted:
Hello everyone, can't believe I'm on another May thread.
This is my 2nd pregnacy I lost my son at 16 weeks gestation last year so definitely going to be a very long pregnacy for me but I'm trying to keep it positive.
We will be buying a fetal heartbeat monitor because we never got to hear DS. while some NHS sonographers will allow you to hear the heartbeat not all do.
