Soupqueen · 24/08/2013 09:09

Oh, forgot to mention that I bought some raspberry leaf tea yesterday. Has anyone started taking this yet? I've not tried it yet.

Natalieand · 24/08/2013 09:15

Thanks pink I got back to sleep in the end until 7ish when dh alarm went off xx

Soup I discussed raspberry leaf tea with the midwife yesterday and she said I can take it from 34 weeks same as I did with dd so I will buy the capsules and start then which is 9 days away for me z

roofio87 · 24/08/2013 09:15

pinkforboys im staying at my parents this weekend and do not get me started on the wood pigeons!!! agreed that they must have been in hiding this morning! ! they have been driving me mad!

Soupqueen · 24/08/2013 09:20

I think we're due date buddies, nat. I've got an appointment next week so will check then.

Wickedgirl · 24/08/2013 09:27

For washable wipes, these could be used. Because they have different coloured tabs in the corners, you could use certain colours for certain roles?

They also make great bibs, you make them into a triangle and thread the corner through the coloured tab. Great for having in a nappy bag for general spills too.

Natalieand · 24/08/2013 09:28

14th of oct. 51 days away... Or 7 weeks 2 days

Don't I think 51 days sounds less? Lol cos 21 one of those days could be 'anytime' if that makes sense x

Soupqueen · 24/08/2013 09:31

I like those wicked, and bargainous!

natalie, I agree, 51 days sounds way less. At the moment, they don't think they'll be keen with me going over 40 weeks - so that's the longest I have to wait Shock

Natalieand · 24/08/2013 09:37

We're currently having a big storm here torrential rain thunder lightening dd is most upset the sky tv isn't working she keeps asking me to fix it with the control lol. She's resorted to watching the rain at the back door bless her.

An opportunity has come available for dh and I too move to a 3 bedroom bungalow with garage and drive way fully refurbished inside including bathroom and kitchen. We're currently in a 2 bedroom house but I'm undecided as to whether to go for it as its and I no this sounds dramatic 6 miles away from my current house and dd's pre school. My mum-dad , auntie, 2 of my sisters and me and dh all currently live within like a 1 mile radius of each other and as rediculous as it sounds I'm worried I would be 'out of the loop' so to speak, plus its £45 a month extra than our ideal rental outgoings so thought I'd ask u lovely ladies opinions as u aren't emotionally involved if that makes sense lol

Flyer747 · 24/08/2013 09:42

It depends if that 3rd bedroom is worth it Nat. If you'd like the baby to have its own room then go for it.

£45 over the month is only an extra £1.50 per day more than you currently pay. (See the sales person in me Grin)

6 miles isn't far either it would be a case of an extra 20 mins in the car I guess.

Natalieand · 24/08/2013 09:44

Its quite a simple 6 miles journey takes 7-10 minutes as the road joining the two towns is 60mph xx

Flyer747 · 24/08/2013 09:50

Even better then Nat. Maybe write a list of the pros and cons of moving.

Shirehobbit · 24/08/2013 09:51

I'm probably not the best person to advise Nat as I've always been a bit nomadic and the closest family (my parents) are the closest any family has ever been at 40 miles away.
DH's family, on the other hand, sound similar. He remains the only one to have left the Shire (and we are never allowed to forget it Hmm ). Despite only being an hour or so drive away, his parents have visited us twice in six years.

Anyway - we're off to raid the charity shops in football wives territory. You would be amazed at the quality of the stuff in them - barely used.

Flyer747 · 24/08/2013 09:57

Shire you are off to Alderley Edge and Wilmslow Grin omg I went into Barnados in A Edge once and picked up a brand new pair of UGG boots never worn with box for £40.

Another charity shop there had Gucci Handbags, Gina Shoes, cashmere cardigans etc Shock i couldn't believe it.

I might have to pay a trip myself.

Shirehobbit · 24/08/2013 10:07

Bingo Flyer Grin
We'll do a circular route - Knutsford, Alderley Edge, Wilmslow, Hale.
My best bargain to date was an unworn (with tags) Karen Millen ball gown.
It's too much to hope we're going to find a Bjornbaby bouncer, isn't it? [WINK]

Flyer747 · 24/08/2013 10:14

Enjoy Smile I bought my baby Bjorn carrier off an eBay seller in Bowdon, gorgeous house I was green with envy Grin so you never know.

Are you and DH originally from one of the close shires (Cheshire, Lancashire) I grew up in a small village in between sandbach and congleton. I want to move back dp having none of it Hmm

Shirehobbit · 24/08/2013 10:23

I'm not really from anywhere - born in Leicester, but grew up in various places from Liverpool to London. And lived all over as an adult.
(Mum's family are all Lake District, Dad's Birmingham)
DH is Shropshire, born and bred.
We've often considered moving to the north shropshire/south cheshire area.

PseudoBadger · 24/08/2013 11:17

33 weeks today. DS was born exactly 5 weeks from now. My section is in 6 weeks 2 days arrrrrgh!

OP posts:
Warlin · 24/08/2013 11:27

Oh prisci poor you, some tongue biting ahead I suspect.

I bought raspberry leaf tea yesterday but could only get it mixed with elderberry, is this ok or does it have to be pure. Ds was born in only 2.5 weeks from now so want this one out around then :)

Have a good weekend everyone

Umlauf · 24/08/2013 11:54

shire and flyer I am jealous of your shopping! I have just joined the style and beauty threads in anticipation of the amazing body I'll have when I sneeze this baby out sticks fingers in ear and sings lalalalala

DH found a Stephen Sprouse leopard print louis vuitton scarf in a Tunbridge Wells second hand dress agency when we were in England a few weeks ago, I snapped it up straight away and it's going to be my feeding scarf!!

35 weeks now so very much on the home run. I'm still on holiday and can't believe how much bigger the bump has got in the last 3 weeks, even since I posted that bikini pic on FB! How much bigger can it get?!

nat I had to take my rings off before 20 weeks, I can't even get DHs wedding ring on now. I've also had to loosen my birkenstocks as my feet are so swollen. I can't make a fist anymore due to massively swollen fingers. I'm starting to panic a bit because isn't swelling quite a bad sign? And still a while to go.. although I am somewhere hot!? Hmm.. I would say go for the house as 6 miles is nothing (although I would say that across a border!) and an extra room would be lovely, wouldnt it?

What's with raspberry leaf tea? Can it just be raspberry tea!?

Flyer747 · 24/08/2013 12:03

Umlauf, I have 2 of those scarves the brown one and the grey one. Never thought of using it for bf....good idea.

It has to be raspberry leaf tea, it's different to just raspberry apparently (I have no idea why) nct lady said you can start taking it from 32 weeks, I'm 33 tomorrow and going to start tomorrow.

Flyer747 · 24/08/2013 12:07

P.s umlauf I'm jealous of your changing bag Grin the mulberry.

claphammama · 24/08/2013 12:15

wow... can't believe you are already 35 weeks umlauf... and warlin you could have yours in 2.5 weeks if life repeats itself... wow. I'm 31+4 today and it feels like it's getting closer but still doesn't feel "almost there".

Going to John Lewis in a minute as DP decided he wants a camera for his birthday present so he needs to come with me to choose as I have no clue. I must not buy more baby stuff... I must not buy more baby stuff... I must not buy more baby stuff...

I can still wear my rings bug just about. I take them off every night just in case. There were days in July and early August when it was really hot and I couldn't wear them at all. umlauf I got really swollen when pregnant with DS in the last few weeks (it was July and August). Really swollen... had to buy shoes two size bigger than my normal size. I was told it was normal in the last weeks and not a cause for concern if you don't have any other symptoms and your urine / BP are OK. It can be just water retention.

hayle you were asking last night - I think my DS is average for his age, perhaps a bit on the tall side... he is definitely taller than some other children but shorter than others. He is 5 but still wears a lot of size 4 tops and trousers... and some size 6! I need to measure him actually as haven't for ages! Also, don't worry too much about your daughter. People grow at different rates. I was always one of the tallest in my class and was playing basketball until I was 13. And then I stopped growing so fast! Now I'm very modest 5'4" :-) so weird.
hope everyone has a lovely long weekend x

Umlauf · 24/08/2013 12:19

Ah, I'm now ebaying tea!! The targeted ads people won't know what to make of me...

flyer you just reminded me I have a changing bag already!!!!!! Thank you so much. I was using it as my work bag and completely forgot what it was actually for, packed it away ages ago due to back pain and not carrying stuff, and have been complaining to DH I don't like the free boots one and need a new one! He is very very pleased with you! Haha!!

I think the Stephen Sprouse scarves are the perfect size for BF cover ups, I was going to consign it to the back of a cupboard until the little one has grown up and left home and I can be glam again, but I think I will just let it get ruined and do my best to keep it clean so I can feel less of a frumpy mum! sorry if that is vuitton sacriledege! I have no idea (this being baby numero uno) but I have been worried about losing my own sense of self and just becoming someone's Mum iyswim.

Slippysnow · 24/08/2013 12:30

warlin does the packet say 'raspberry leaf' not just raspberry, this is the only stuff that will give your uterus the benefits. They sell it in holland and Barrett. They also do it in tablet form, lots of people say it doesn't taste too good. I'm going to try it over the next week

MotherOfNations · 24/08/2013 12:31

I've not had any swelling unless the size of my bum and thighs is swelling and not related to tiramisu and chocolate consumption.

Ds has decided that he's not going to the cinema today now as the only films he wants to see are rated 15 and my friend said her 6ft 18 yr old was asked for ID when going to view a 15 rated film last week. I suggested a DVD and pizza night instead but that means me and DP will need to find something to do with the other 3 as he won't want us hanging around.
Am I making a mistake leaving 4 13yr old boys home alone?
