Morning ladies!

I tried my first raspberry leaf tea yesterday and actually I really liked it! Ali- It was just in my local health food shop. But I always ask at the counter coz quite often I cant see things for them staring me in the face.

HC- Am soo excited! Let us know if anything happens.Grin

Kbaby and Annie- Oh guys I do hope you start feeling better. Being pg in summer is hard enough without the extra stuff you guys got going on. Make sure you rest up and get people running around after you. Sending you both bug hugs.

It's nice to hear from some of you who havent posted in a while. I know what you mean, by the time you've caught up with the posts sometimes youv'e got no energy to actually write one yourself.

It all comes from us lot talking too much.

Not doing too much today, DD2 has her hearing test at hospital this afternoon, so will hopefully find out if she has a problem. Other then that not much planned.

BTW- Has anybody else lost their appetite. Seems like I have to force myself to eat anything, dont know whether its the heat or baby sitting on my belly, probably both.

Have a nice day and try and keep cool!

HumphreysCorner · 14/06/2006 08:58

Morning ladies

Can't stop crying this morning-hormones eh? Think everything is getting a bit much. Mum and dad are away for a week which doesn't help and I feel poorly still (sore throat, chesty cough and pains in head). DH is driving me mad over his car advertised on Ebay-we are getting loads of questions to answer and some people want to view on Saturday. Now he doesn't know if he can part with it. There are 2 other cars the same as DH's on there now which have bids of nearly £2000 and ours is only up to £255 so he is gutted. It is under my Ebay username so I don't want to end up a bad Ebayer by withdrawing the auction. He is still blaming me for selling the car-was not my idea. Honestly, with only 2 1/2 weeks to go I need to feel better than this or I will have no strength to give birth.

Moan over, but had to get it off my chest.

At least I am losing weight as don't feel like eating and when my ankles finally go down I should lose about 6 stone-lol!

Hope everyone has a good day.

Love to all

Morning. Hope you are feeling better KBaby and Annie. Its lovely being cooler yesterday and so far today. I can sit in clothes without getting soaked through. Trying to write this essay but struggling to get started Grin. Gues this one will be lucky if I pass as my mind isn't really on it.

Everyone remembered fathers day for sunday? Mine is away so that gives me a bit more time. Got DH pressie yesterday and some last minute bits I had forgotten for my bag, e.g. disposable knickers (2 sizes as no idea what size I am at the moment!), nipple shields and more maternity pads as I remember needing a lot last time. Also got the SMA in case as I have been so crampy by lunchtime last few days that I am wondering if this means things could happen sooner rather than later?????

Finger's crossed that you are on the way HC. Speak to you all later.

deblaca · 14/06/2006 09:19

scan went fab KZ - thanks. saw his lovely face and full lips .... although looked like he was sulking (mind you the scanographer did say that i'd be sulking too if my head was squashed into a pelvis and suspended upside down in a bag of liquid!) I think he's quite comfy in there, bless him ...... but he's a big 'un - 86th centile with an estimated weight of 3.46kg/7.4lbs ALREADY at 36+4 - yikes!!

my hayfever is driving me crazy!!

Anopheles · 14/06/2006 12:19

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for all your good wishes, I'm feeling really good today, which is unusual! Had a good ole kip last night, so I reckon it was just the heat. LOL at 'vomfest', Bloss!!

Jersey and HC, any more developements? Oh the anticipation is so exciting!! Hope you're feeling ok, HC, them hormones, eh?

Kbaby, any news from the GP?

Nothing new to report here though, still just under 9 bog roll sheets.

Take it easy everyone...

Annie 35+6

Snook · 14/06/2006 15:46

Maewest - sounds as though we're due on the same day - July 27th - race you!!!

My first time on this thread. DD was breech, elective cs, so awaiting a scan to see which way my current bump intends on entering the world!

Not sure whether to hope for a cs again as I recovered really quickly last time. Quite intrigued about VBAC too though. Anyone done both? Which would you recommend?

Chat2Ali · 14/06/2006 15:52

Annie - good to hear you are feeling a bit better now. The heat has been difficult, hasn't it? I am jealous Envy that you got your good night's sleep in last night. It was still too hot for me, but I am loving the weather today, and after posting am off for a nap.

I went to my 1st NCT run ante-natal class today. I know its late to be starting, but I only got into this class on a cancellation. The other ladies are mostly due in August, so I am a couple of weeks ahead, but am very glad to be on the course, because I found the NHS ones a bit disorganised really. The teacher is great at encouraging positive thinking, which is good because its easy to get into a pattern of complaining about everything when pg. Today I am SO excited about the thought of LO arriving, and of hearing about the safe deliveries of your LO's too.

Its certainly not long for you HC. Goodluck, and try not to worry about ebay or wallpaper too much. It'll all work out eventually!

(((hugs))) to allSmile
Ali

Chat2Ali · 14/06/2006 15:55

Hi Snook, Welcome to the July Mummies club.
I am a first timer, so can't say either way, but I am sure the lovely ladies here will help!

Twirl · 14/06/2006 16:02

Afternoon all, and welcome snook!
Has taken me ages to catch up with all your news! We are a chatty bunch aren't we Smile. Hope you are feeling better today Kbaby, and glad that you are Annie. HC I think you are getting a really raw deal at the moment and think you should book a treat for yourself - maybe a facial or pedicure or massage - you deserve a bit of pampering before the lo arrives. Deblaca, I hate to alarm you but I read that in the final month the baby puts on approx 1/2 Ib a week! Ouch, it could be a big one for you Shock!. Straightforward, you made me giggle at your matter transporter and descriptions of both delivery options! I have just come back from seeing my consultant and finally have an elective cs booked for 29th June because of my spd!!! At least I can stop worrying about big things coming out of small holes now Grin....

Snook · 14/06/2006 16:17

Thanks for the welcome Twirl & Ali.

Twirl - sorry to be a bit slow at this game but what is spd? Did you prefer to have a cs or did the consultant recommend it?

Hello...

welcome snook dont know too much as im a first timer....but would pay all of my money for a matter transporter to be invented in the next 5 weeks!

Went to the hospital again today...protein is ++ again and legs are puffy and swollen up to my knees..lovely.

Consultant says i have to do another 24hour wee-in-a-jug-thing and go back on friday for a scan and more blood tests!

Fun...but would prefer to do it at home than being admitted again i had to promise to rest and not stress so BP didnt go up...yawn...

If you have a scan this late, do you get to have a picture?? i only had one of my 20 week scan and my DP wore it out in his trouser pocket, cos he took it to work every night to show his drunk customers!

Anyway, better go sit and do nothing then, well maybe lurk on some more threads!

kbaby · 14/06/2006 18:27

Hi,

Thanks everyone. Its my own fault really as I was only commenting to a friend on Thursday that I had had a trouble free pregnancy.
I havent got chicken pox but covered in insect bites (urgh)
I went back to work today and am really struggling. The pain in my tummy is back and im beginning to think that its muscular related as each time the baby or I move it hurts and has got worse throughout the day. Now I know how those with SPD feel. I dont know if a support belt will help as I feel better if I carry my belly around.

I had a scan on Friday but even after they showed me the picture 3 times I still cant see whats where. Aparently its the face. I remember having one on DD and her lips were over the other side of her face. i ended up crying all over the midwife that the baby was deformed until she pointed out that she was just v squashed.

janeOT · 14/06/2006 19:13

Hello all

Welcome Snook: I'm a 1st timer so all new to me i'm fraid!

Went to my "Labour" antenatal class today and the MW running it was FAB Smile nice to know there are some good ones out there. Got my placenta scan tomorrow, really excited about seeing LO but really nervous about having to have a full bladder (They better NOT leave me waitng!!!!) and that its not moved enough and I'll need a cs! Guess not long till I know now!

Glad most ppl sound as though their coping....JUST. I finally got some sleep this morning had a lie in til 10AM which is the longest in ages Grin but annoyingly feel more tired for it!

With whoever it was who said about losing their appetite I haven't eaten a proper meal for about a week, just picking at things and chomping gaviscon tablets!!Blush

Some good news: Someone at boots parenting club must have made an admin error already had my vouchers weeks ago and have another 2 books of vouchers arrived this week so far, so went into town after my antenatal and the look on the womans face when I handed over a pile of vouchers and the total cost just disappeared in front of her, when she asked my why i had so many told her I was cashing in a friends too as she had gone into labour early and couldn't cash them in Grin

That was a lonwg one, sorry folks!
Speak soon
Jane

deblaca · 14/06/2006 19:28

result twirl ooohh 2 weeks tomorrow you'll get to meet your little one ......

jane you don't have to have a full bladder any more for your scan - the bump big enough to see everything (don't put yourself through that agony girl)

had a appt at hospital today to see doc - and was told that baby is actually 97th centile and I'm measuring v large for dates, so have to have yet another scan in 2 weeks and depending on the outcome of that scan will have to discuss delivery options .... may end up having a c/s, so not only have I gone from homebirth, to hospital birth but now may be facing a c/s ........... which means that lo may be early and the house is NO where near ready so may have to look for somewhere to live ... yikes!!

welcome snook

HumphreysCorner · 14/06/2006 20:10

Hi girls

Welcome to Snook and congratulations hun Grin

Went to my friend's house for the day and feel alot better for it. She is a marvellous friend and our DD's play brill together. There will be the same gap between her DD2 and mine so things couldn't be better (if they get on that is).

jane-you only need a full bladder at a 12 week scan so wee away if you can.

The only way I can get a wee out nowadays is to wipe myself first then some dribbles out. I don't know why wiping helps but it does. After DD was born I could only wee by squatting in the bath for the first week. Bit of a nightmare when out visiting.

koshka-you wouldn't see anything on the scan picture at this stage. Hope all goes well.

Twirl-you did it-hurrah!!!!

deblaca-are you having an elephant? Grin

kbaby-sorry to hear you are struggling hun. These last few weeks really are v.trying.

Hope everyone else is OK.

Byee for now.

OldieMum · 14/06/2006 20:23

I had a bad day today. I went to the antenatal clinic in the hospital - I'm due to have a c-section on 27th June and they are going to admit me on the 20th. The doctor examined me and one spot was particularly tender. I had also not felt much movement this morning, before the appointment. She sent me to the Day Assessment Unit for a doppler reading - where they measure the degree of resistance in the umbilical cord, as a marker for problems with the cord or placenta. All was well, but I felt very shaken. One reason was that we had a bad moment in my last pregancy when I went there because of abdominal pain and they couldn't, for a few minutues, locate the heartbeat. The more deep-seated reason is that, over a number of years, I went through eight failed IVF cycles in that hospital. If even the smallest thing goes wrong, all the feelings of anxiety and grief I experienced then come rushing back. I have tried to be calm and relaxed about this pregnancy, conceived naturally, and I'm shocked at how quickly those feelings come back when anything is amiss.

dangirl · 14/06/2006 21:38

Evening ladiesSmile

36+4. Gosh it is coming soon!!

Went to see Dr at antenatal clinic today. All is well. Baby looking HUGE - stillShock!! 3/5 engaged.

I have really felt rather rough in this heat. Hopefully it will not be too long before this baby arrives!! Funny how I finally am beginning to feel ready. Up until now everything has seemed rather unreal.

Due to PPH after the birth of DD of aprox 1 L I will need an actively managed 3rd stage - meaning a drip with syntoconin for the delivery of the placenta. Not really very nice but will go with the advise.

Hope you are all well!

Lots of hugs
Dangirlxx

What a scare - you poor thing OldieMum. Glad everythings OK, but I know what you mean about the anxiety. I have had fertility treatments in the past, and waited a long time for this pregnancy to happen so any bad signs can feel devastating.

Great news about your CS Twirl! I have to keep looking at the stats now to try and keep up with everyone, but it seems like OldieMum, You, then Spub will be first to meet their LO's (unless HC delivers before that).

Deblaca - Yikes sounds right for your healthy, robust baby. Your experience makes me realise how flexible one needs to be with the old birth plan.

Koshka - glad you are getting to stay home this time around. Hope everything works out OK. Stay calm and relax if you can.

Jane - Score with the Boots Vouchers! I am off to spend my 1 set of vouchers tommorrow. I still haven't bought nappies yet so I'll use my vouchers for that, and add them to my half packed hospital bag. Did you use all the offers?

deblaca · 14/06/2006 22:50

dangirl - you and me both - how big are you?

HC - that did make me laugh I think i might be and yeah KZ could be all those cakes (feeling bad now - have told DH that i'm not eating for the rest of term) ... my GTT was normal but they did another blood test today to check

oldiemum - you're nearly there (sending ++ vibes)

ladies hope you all sleep well

jersey · 15/06/2006 07:27

Morning, no sign of anything yet here, think all the aches and pains are just tiredness as in the morning I'm fine. Just thinking we had everything ready when I remembered that the moses basket mattress is still in the loft and the cover needs washing (if we can find it). Must send DH up when he gets home before the footy starts.

Got DS full time from next week so don't know when i will get back on here on a regular basis. Hypertension clinic again next week so see what they say, hopefully everything has calmed down again. Now if I can just get this essay finished and the ironing backlog cleared this baby can come!! Grin.

35 weeks tomorrow.

jersey · 15/06/2006 07:29

Welcome to Snook. Can't help on the vbac as had vaginal last time with the suction cup thing. Try posting on the pregnancy threads I'm sure there are some on there who have been through that option.

nixnoo · 15/06/2006 08:13

OldieMum, understandable you would feel that way, good they are keeping a close eye on you to help alleviate any concerns, not long now until you meet your LO :)

Deblaca - have you been taking Pregnacare? All my friends that took it had whoppers! I took it for the first 3 months, will see the outcome soon.

Have been looking forward to LO engaging as I have read it alleviates the heartburn (hooray!), but this one seems pretty happy where (s)he is and I have woken up with heartburn today - never had it first thing in the morning before :(

DH made me promise to stay home and pack my bag this morning, I have all the bits but scattered around the house, so best I go get that done! Will probably realise I am missing things knowing me...

Anyone else getting frustrated from the stares of the general public? I am proud of my bumkp, but sometimes you just want to have a wander without drawing so much attention! Hmmm, glad I am not famous!

Have great days all

Hi Snook - looks like we're due about the same time. This is also first baby for me, so not expecting any action until August as babies all tend to be late in my family (boy will I be surprised if it comes early :))
