Evening girlies...

Pink...I've lost a bit of weight too... i think its because you dont feel like eating as much, having less tummy space and heartburn. Im on my third litre of peptac prescriptions now!

Koshka, I can TOTALLY empathise with the damp pants/ crampy pains thing. I keep thinking I've got a slow trickle of waters, and am getting through loads of knicker liners!

Bamboozle, good luck with the exams. Hope its not too uncomfortable for you to sit for too long.

Annie, cant believe youre moving house so late on! Make sure you dont do anything other than supervise!

Still no change from the constant tummy aches and back ache. Ate curry this afternoon! I can imagine still being in the same boat two weeks late (by which time I will have used up all of morrisons paracetamol supply!)

Any new babies born will now be entering the world as mini cancerians, for those horoscope fanatics!

bamboozleslover · 21/06/2006 23:05

got 3 left..woooo!last one is on friday!! got one 2hr 45 min exam in the morning and one 1hr 30 min exam in the afternoon. boy can i not wait for that day to end!it's been so stressful. really scared about results in case i don't get in at my uni though i can hope they'll take pity on me!!

argh just plucked up the courage to weigh myself. i've put on 1.5 stone since i got pregnant

spub · 22/06/2006 08:30

Bamboo - that's nowt.
God, if I was sitting exams and pregnant I'd have gained about 5 stones through stress and comfort eating!!
Good luck with the exam. Hugely impressed at you doing all of this at the same time. I have found brushing my teeth and turning up at work a strain for the last few months, never mind anything else!

puddytat99 · 22/06/2006 08:35

38 weeks today!!!!!

Mummytotoby - Good luck with the rest of your exams

Had a great day out yesterday, even though a lot windy here. Caught the sun but don't remember it shining for more than 5 mins. Off there again today, it's hard work watching tennis Got talking to the woman next to me and she turned out to be a mw. So if anything happened I'd have been ok. Would have been a bit embarrassing though, front row, right in front of the Sky Sports cameras

Spoke to my darling MIL last night and she thinks I should stay at home now until baby comes and not go out anywhere, not even the shops. She even brought up the baby I lost last year, not what I need at the moment

DS's birthday tomorrow, how can he be 12 already????

Hope you all have a good day, take care

maewest · 22/06/2006 08:56

Good luck with the exams bamboozleslover (great name by the way). I'm sure you'll do well.

I'm 35 weeks tomorrow, and it's my wedding anniversary, so DH and I will be taking the day off work to hopefully have a picnic together (if the weather holds up).

lilianna · 22/06/2006 08:57

sorry to hear about your loss. Your mil is totally out of order to bring up the past like that esp at this point in your life.
Look forward to the little life that will be in your hands soon.
If your mil wants to become obsessive just try to keep a space between you, and don't let anyone upset you. Take care

lilianna

HumphreysCorner · 22/06/2006 10:09

Morning ladies

MIL are the pits-I know this baby is due in July like DD was born in July so my MIL said what bad planning it was then said but you are not very good at having them in the winter are you (meaning when I miscarried last year as the baby was due in December)-GGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHHH to the lot of them puddytat! I agree with lilianna and look after yourself and keep away from the evil one. ((xx))

Have just been to the MW-mine was off sick so had a lovely one standing in and mine is on hols soon so this one may end up visiting me at home-hurrah! My next appointment is the 6th July and I will be 40+5-don't understand why I don't go next week at 39+5 as last time that is when the protein in my urine was picked up so knew the birth was imminent. Shall be worried all next week now.

How can any of you sit exams-we are not worthy bows down arms swinging. Lots of luck to all you studying and writing essays.

I'm also fed up of wet pants-even a panty liner gets soaked.

As soon as my cross stitch is finished I am going to stuff pineapple, jump on DH (hmmm-perhaps not, 13st 4lb heavier than 10st 10lb) try a curry.

Anyway, off for a swig of Gaviscon and a cuppa as don't get much chance of hot tea lately as DD has no concept of time-bless.

Have a good day and love to all.

Byee

Puddy- you know your own body and if you are comfortable getting out and about then just blimmin go for it.
I did a 60 mile round trip to a work leaving do last night and my section is a week tomorrow.....

Anopheles · 22/06/2006 11:18

Morning everyone,

Good luck with the exams, MummytoToby, you are some woman to be doing them at this stage! Like KZ, I couldn't do em, my brain is also jelly, and like HC i have trouble remembering to do normal things, like putting my watch on in the mornings, and putting my phone in my bag...

Puddytat, at your MIL, I know exactly how you feel. What do you care what she thinks anyway, I sometimes feel like saying to my MIL, I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK, mind your own nose, this is MY baby and my life so BUTT out.... Her pregnancies and babies were all perfect of course (forty years does a lot to a person's memory I'm sure). Grrrr. You go girl. Sorry to hear about your loss too.
Would have been great to see you pop live on Sky Sports though!! (If I could have got it on instead of the football...)

Bumpy, I know it's madness moving at this stage, but that's how things go, what with useless solicitors/estate agent etc. And I won't be lifting a finger, don't worry! Just making sure the sofa gets on the van last, and off first at the other end!!

Lilianna, i'm sure your baby being little will be helpful when it's on it's way out! Don't worry, I'm sure it'll be fine. Are you little yourelf??

Well girls, have a good day, and take it very slowly...

Annie - 37 weeks!!! Full Term!!!

nixnoo · 22/06/2006 11:27

Gawd, what an insensitive thing for your MIL to say! Nasty nasty.

RANT ALERT!

My MIL went psycho when we told her we were expecting. She has always been a hypochondriac and creates drama after drama around her so she can get attention without asking for it, so I think when she realised that she was no longer going to be the "most vulnerable" member of the family she went a bit mad! I had always thought we had a relatively good relationship, and had always made an effort with her, but I think the fear of losing her little boy more than she already had became too much to bear, and she wrote me a VICIOUS e-mail accusing me of all sorts of things. If I hadn't been so shocked I would have found it funny. The thing was I was 5 months preggers at the time, and she really upset me. In essence she tried to split me and DH up! He was furious and told her not to contact me again until after the baby is born (fair enough?) but now she is going around the whole family doing the wounded dog thing! She apparently has no idea why DH has "abandoned her"!!!! Arrrrrrrrghhhhhh.... it has put so much stress on the entire family when this is supposed to be time of joy!

I am now going to go into town for my final (I hope) trip to Mothercare and Mamas and Papas, and to get the last bits needed for hospital bag. Thankfully it is a bit cooler today, don't want to subject people to those ankle muffin tops.

Can't believe it is so close now, It seems like yesterday that I was gazing at the 20 week scan picture for the first time.

Have good days ladies, sorry for my rant!
x

Hiya everyone,

Puddy, I am glad you are out enjoying the tennis. I live a few streets away from the Queen's club and would've loved to spend a day there last week. Am glad Wimbledon is on the tele next week as a distraction from all this waiting around (and as an alternative to constant football). Don't listen to your MILs "advice". Its just one opinion after all. I am having to tell myself that with each new piece of "advice" my own mother offers even when I haven't asked.

I know at least my Mum means well, but she's not very good at just being supportive - she always HAS to have her 2c worth. At least she has been away travelling and left me with 3 blissful days of peace and quiet.

Lilliana - I wish mu LO seemed small (actually MW said size is right for date), but I would like the idea of giving birth to a teeny LO rather than an average or large LO. But hope all goes well with your consultant next week. Annie LOL! How lovely to be referred to as a "little elf" at this stage of being pg!!

Chat2Ali · 22/06/2006 12:28

I have been feeling sick too for the past couple of days and sympathise with you other ladies. I know I should have something, but am not sure what to eat for lunch. Can't think. What has appealed to anyone else when feeling sick?

Anopheles · 22/06/2006 12:44

Ali, it took me ages to work out what I'd said, about 'little elf'!! See I can't do normal things like type any more!! Or think...
Can't really help with your lunch dilemma, as I always have the same thing, chicken escalope baguette with salad, but no tomatoes...

Nixnoo, your MIL sounds like a selfish spoilt little girl. I know one of them too... Sympathies.

Off out in the sun for half an hour now for lunch. Can you tell I have no work to do today??

Annie 37weeks

usandbump · 22/06/2006 12:49

Hi all

I don't post much anymore and I'm sorry but I do read and keep up to date with all your news. Is anyone else shocked at how fast our pregnancies have gone? I'm amazed, it all seemed so far away......
I have been feeling odd and having a few pains for a week or so now, got very excited when they first started now starting to fear I'm going to continue like this and be 2 weeks late. I'm ready now and just want to get on with it! At appointment last week was 3/5 engaged have another appt tomorrow and want to be told he is fully in place and ready to go! It certainly feels like he is.
People have been telling me I shouldn't be going out anywhere alone now but sod that I'd go out of my mind being holed up until the end! So I have been taking myself off shopping on the bus into town most days or out to lunch in a nice cafe with a good book.
Bump has hiccups as I'm typing and also having braxtons- very uncomfortable!
Congratulations to janeOT, hope you are well enough to come home soon.
Thinking of you all particularly those who have c-sections coming up very soon.

Good afternoon girls!

at some of your MIL stories. I am peed off with mine at the moment as it was DD 1's birthday at the weekend and she hasn't got her anything not even a card. You might understand if she were strapped for cash but no she is just tight fisted. And to think we brought her a bunch of flowers for her birthday (and we were skint).

Oh well, seems like all MIL's are the same.

I Had a bad night last night. Had really strong Braxton hicks at about 12.30. Never had them that strong before, not with either of my girls. Was worried for a bit that I was in early labour. But i'm still here. Perhaps I should cut down on some of that raspberry leaf tea.

The days seem to be going so slowly now, and am fed up of waiting.

Glad I am not going into hospital to have the baby as my local have just announced they will be charging £10 for 4 hrs to park. When my sister was there last year having her baby she was there for a week, can you imagine how much that would cost!

Have had navy family personal services around this morning. To discuss what sort of help I might need once LO is here. I have been doing quite well the last few weeks and didn't really want to have to cope with the thought of getting poorly again. But it is something I seriously need to think about. Am hoping that I will be ok, but will have to wait and see.

Have a nice day, I hope the sun is shining where you are.

Wallace · 22/06/2006 13:17

Hello everyone, and congratulations to Jane

It's my birthday today and I got a lovely lie-in. Dh also did the school run, which was great as it was (and still is) pouring with rain as well as being cold and windy.

Only 5 weeks to go, but it still doesn't seem real. I haven't packed my hospital bag, or even bought most of the stuff. Ther moses basket is still in the attic! At least the baby stuff is washed - I took advantage of the nice weather we had to get it done, thankgoodness!

Hope everyone is well

Wallace · 22/06/2006 13:19

pinkdolly - I had some really strong braxtons last night too. Couldd feel them pressing down below too, IYSWIM

Happy birthday Wallace. Hi to everyone else. Like usandbump I don't get chance to post much anymore but I'm keeping track of you all and reading the posts. Am also fed up of being so huge and waking every hour to pee. I think I'll get more sleep with a newborn!! Roll on labour- am only 36+5 but don't think I can cope with another 3 weeks!

Hello everyone,
Hardly ever get time to post as so much to catch up on just reading all your messages but hope everyone is well.
Just been "violated" in the supermarket by a mad old boy who asked me what I was having. When I told him " a baby" he said he knew what it was because he had special x-ray vision and could see inside my tummy!!!!! He then proceeded to stare at my boobs before declaring confidently that it was a girl!! Not very scientific but hopefully I have done my bit to keep the older generation happy!
