I haven't found a Feb 2007 thread yet so thought I'd start one. Just found out I was pregnant on Monday so it is very early days still - but so exciting nonetheless. The due date calculators generally say I am due on 1 Feb, with on churning out 31 Jan and another 4 Feb. I thought it was more like 15 Feb but I will find our more at my first doctor's appointment on 15 June.

My stats:
me 28
dh 35
first baby
due 31/01 or 1/02 or 4/02 or 15/02 ???? (take your pick!)

Anyone want to join me?

Hi all, hope you are all feeling well today. I've been to the doctor and spoke to him about my family history. My Dh came too. The doctor has asked me to do a test and when that comes back (it had better be positive!!) I will make an appointment to see the nurse. It may be that I will be classed as a high risk pregnancy but hopefully this will only be for a short tme. He was very keen to take the folic acid and I told him I was on the sanatogen pronatal.
I also told my head teacher today. and the deputy. Who were surprised I'm the fouth Pg lady in school recently (although one has miscarried)
My boobs are not so tender today but I have eaten more, I forced myself to eat lots at lunchtime and then felt so tired at 2:00 ish. might have an early night

cadbury · 19/06/2006 17:25

hello everyone. goodness, we are getting to be a big group! I've lost count of everyone! Congrats to those who have joined recently.

I've been feelig really sicky the last few days. Its often becasue my blood sugar is low but then even when it isn't I feel awful so I don't know what to do for it really! I have approached my friend who is a midwife to do my antenatal care and she said yes - yippee! Hopefully she'll be able to deliver me at hoome too but that all seems a long way off and sounds more positive than I'm actually feeling tbh. I had to have a sleep this lunch time while ds was having his becasue I have to do lots of ironing tonight and there is no way I'd make it past 8pm if I didn't - nice to know I'm not the only one sneaking in little sleeps! lol

suzi2 · 19/06/2006 20:13

cadbury, when I felt iffy with DS, I found that sucking boiled sweets quite often helped. And eating mashed potato - Aunt Bessies frozen stuff was really handy as it was one of the few things that always agreed with me!

TuttiFrutti · 19/06/2006 20:26

I've finally made my appointment with the doctor, for this Friday. I think it will feel more real when I'm "in the system"! Not that it doesn't feel real now - I have quite a bump and have been able to feel stuff happening in there since before my period was due.

teabags · 19/06/2006 20:44

I'm going to the Dr this week too. ditto your thoughts tutti, it all feels so unreal, more so this time than 1st time around

Can't believe I am only 5 weeks , feels like I have been preg forever already!

pains and cramps have subsided today. I had a big rest at lunch time when DS was napping so perhaps that's the key. A good excuse to put my feet up!

arfy · 19/06/2006 20:46

hellloooo
can I join please. There's nowhere else to talk about it!
This is 2nd pregnancy, have 18 month old DD. Due date is, I think, Feb 23rd. So very early days indeed. But - I feel SHOCKING - headachey, sick, knackered. Isn't it a bit early for all that? Or maybe it's just the hectic week I had last week and the thought of getting us all packed up and moved to NZ whilst pregnant....

teabags · 19/06/2006 20:50

welome and congrats arfy!
It's not too early, you'll see we're all knackered!

When are you going to NZ?

arfy · 19/06/2006 20:54

Thanks teabags. hopefully moving to NZ end August/beginning September
before that need to:
arrange for all our stuff to be sold and sell/get rid of things we're not taking
rehome cats
complete sale of flat (have just instructed solicitor)
finish commitments here - concerts etc.
am helping arrange a youth orchestra reunion
say goodbye to everyone
complete all residency stuff
sort out the other billion and one things there are to do when you move

OMG I need a lie down....and I need some energy at some point soon!

teabags · 19/06/2006 20:57

I know how you feel! We are moving to Oz October-ish. So much to do. I am burying my head in the sand at the moment and hoping I get a burst of energy soon!

suzi2 · 19/06/2006 20:59

I agree tutti - I've got my GP on Thurs and then I think we'll tell our parents.

Arfy, I felt really crap at just 4 wks. But it subsided and I'm feeling better now. I think it was nerves, anxiety, stress, being up loads with DS, hormones etc. I'm sort of hoping that I start feeling iffy again as I'm worrying now that the hormones are on the decline! Got some cramping again today and can't decid whether that's a good or bad sign Grin

arfy · 19/06/2006 21:37

ooh teabags how exciting! yes I keep airily saying 'oh there's not much to do really' whilst secretly panicking
suzi2 you're absolutely right - if I don't feel crap I'll prob start fretting about that

Rachee · 19/06/2006 22:46

went to doc's today, taken blood. back on wed to compare three days apart.... HCG levels, to check it's not in my tubes... cause of pains, bleed and due to my op only being two weeks ago !!!

Uki · 20/06/2006 04:30

babydriver · 20/06/2006 13:36

Hi folks, just popping in as I'm now back from hols. We had a fab time camping and DS really enjoyed it which meant we enjoyed it too.

Really pleased to see so many people on this thread and looking forward to getting to know everyone electronically at least.

For the first week of hols, I had no 'symptoms' and was begining to think I wasn't really pg somehow. But last week they kicked in big time - much more tiredness than with DS, and feeling pretty iffy as soon as I get remotely hungry. Am having to eat about every 2 hrs! But if I eat more than a small amount I feel hugely bloated. Plus I'm finding it hard to decide what to eat - I don't really fancy anything - stuff seems too sweet or too salty or I can't have it or whatever...

And I feel huge! Have had to come back to work in an ancient back of the cupboard suit that was a few sizes larger. God knows what I'll wear for the rest of the week. Am in mat jeans and tracky bums at home but that won't do in the office and I don't really want to wheel out the mat clothes yet as they're so obvious.

Will catch up again later, best wishes to all in the meantime.

soundbites · 20/06/2006 15:11

Glad you had a good time Babydriver - and welcome again to all the new girls. It is great having so many people.

Fell consoled to hear you are having trouble with what to eat too Babydriver- makes me feel less odd! I am not really interested in food at all at the moment, eating more out of obligation and so as not to feel ill - and I seem to feel so full so quickly. I struggled to eat my sandwiches at lunch, lovingly made by dh, because bread seems too much to get through and I hated the taste of the Branston he had put on them! All I really feel like are cream crackers, which are the best thing for me to stop feeling queasy I have found. They are a bit of a give-away though and I had to tell a work friend the news today when she noticed I was on my second of the morning. For a few mornings I have ended up throwing up breakfast just minutes before leaving to get my train (tmi, sorry) and although it is horrid, it has meant I have felt a lot better for the rest of the day.

DH thinks I'm developing a bit of a tummy, but I don't really think I have any show at all yet. My mum says it takes longer to show with no.1 - is she right?

soundbites sorry to hear you are not doing so well with the sickness. I was under the impression that people got bigger quicker with second children it certainly seem the case on here.
Welcome back babydriver, glad you had a good break

teabags · 20/06/2006 16:28

Hi all
Hope all goes well Rachee. Must be an agonising few days for you. Fingers and toes are crossed for you

UKi - where abouts are you? We are starting out in Melbourne so not as hot as other parts but even so.... Feb is a hot month there too! My entire pregnancy will be during the summer........strewth

Arfy -I spend all my time thinking of what I have to do but not actually doing it!

Feeling so tired, mostly because I am sleeping so poorly at night. My Ds is an angel and often has monster sleeps at lunch time which is my saving grace!

sorkycake · 20/06/2006 17:01

Hello to everyone who has joined recently,
I can't believe how lucky that June thread has been - special congrats to Peachygirl!
Well, I'm feeling much better now. Went to my local Healthstore and the lady gave me Ipecac homeopathic remedy. It took away the sickness and gave me the impetus to eat something which I've maintained and since then I've managed to eat little and often with success. Afternoon naps are here to stay as it gets me through the day. I think my m/s was as bad because I was still trying to do everything I would normally do. Once I scaled everything right back I found I could cope a lot better.

My belly has grown overnight! Dh cannot believe it either. Must be because it's no.3.
No more twinges, only nausea between 7-9pm (manageable) but still sore boobs. Oh, and cannot stand anything to touch my belly, not even clothing atm.
Btw have told the world and his wife I'm pg, would rather people knew than didn't. Hope you're all feeling well! Smile

TuttiFrutti · 20/06/2006 19:01

Welcome back babydriver, nice to hear from you again! Glad you had a good time - camping sounds fun.

I bought my first maternity top today, which felt a bit like tempting fate but it was so pretty and already at 6 weeks I can't fit into a lot of my normal clothes.

Fivefour · 20/06/2006 20:01

Wow, there are lots of people expecting in Feb and I would like to join if I may...

Stats:

Me 28
Dh 34
Dd1 3.1
Dd2 14 mths
Due date 24th Feb

It's exciting to be pregnant although I can't quite believe that it's all happening again.

maazaa · 20/06/2006 20:03

hello ladies. Well done on the camping trip babyd! I am in awe - it's duvet on the sofa for me, nevermind a groundsheet!!! Here's my list of symptoms - both sorry and relieved to see others have similar...

*bloated tummy - i look 6 months gone, i'm sure
*very tired and yawning all day
*Extraordinarily vacant - cannot get anything done at work and people must think I am useless.
*Shaky - jelly legs and wobbly hands
*Now on de-caff tea as one mug gives me palpitations
*Sore boobs

In some ways, feel better to see that I do have symptoms, when I see them all written down! Smile

I asked a woman at work a question today about whether our local hospital lets you know the sex of the baby at the scan - everyone says they don't - I'm not sure I want to know the sex, but was curious. Anyway, she said "why, are you pregnant" and I had to say yes. have told my senior management, our parents and my closest friends (dh holding out on telling his as several have been trying or have siblings who are). However, I felt a bit nervous when my parents are planning to tell more people - they would have so many to tell if it all went wrong. Don't want to quash their enthusiasm but feel it's all tempting fate. Silly, I know...what will be will be.

Sorry for lengthy posting!

suzi2 · 20/06/2006 20:04

Is anyone feeling cold? I remember feeling cold and shivery when pg with DS and I'm the same now. It's weird as my body temp should be higher!

maazaa · 20/06/2006 20:06

i felt cold earlier and was under duvet, but i get like that when i'm over tired. are you sleepy?

suzi2 · 20/06/2006 20:18

Grin you could say that maaza. My DS is 10 months, crawling everywhere, teething, wakening several times a night for a feed and getting up at 6am. that might be why as I feel worse in the evening.

maazaa · 20/06/2006 20:19

nightmare!!!! gorgeous though, am sure!!!
