I haven't found a Feb 2007 thread yet so thought I'd start one. Just found out I was pregnant on Monday so it is very early days still - but so exciting nonetheless. The due date calculators generally say I am due on 1 Feb, with on churning out 31 Jan and another 4 Feb. I thought it was more like 15 Feb but I will find our more at my first doctor's appointment on 15 June.

My stats:
me 28
dh 35
first baby
due 31/01 or 1/02 or 4/02 or 15/02 ???? (take your pick!)

Anyone want to join me?

Good evening ladies,

How is everyone?

Was just telling DH this afternoon how well I was feeling (was even a bit worried) but spoke too soon. Have spent the last few hours with awful headache and running up and down the stairs to the loo (wretching!). I have a house full of kids and friends, we're having a BBQ and I just want to go and lie down. I'd so forgotten the early PG symptoms.
Have DRs appointment tomorrow to confirm.

Hoping the rest of you are well and that scans are given soon. In my thoughts x

hairycaterpillar · 02/07/2006 21:15

bunny3 - thanks, we'll see if you get another "sweet" girl and I'll see if I get another "savoury" boy!!! I've also got one of each already so I'm not really bothered either way...but I do love it when old wives tales come true!!

Angeliz · 02/07/2006 21:19

Can't beleive this is up
I am due in August and it seems very close now! EEK!

Congratulations to you all
I have 2 gorgeous February girls, one in 2001 and one in 2005 and it's a great time to have a baby. Both mine came home in the snow and spent a few snuggly weeks.
Just nice and plump for summer too

cadbury · 03/07/2006 12:14

Hi all,

Have had some spotting today. I had this with the oher two so I'm hoping that this is just what my body does. I've called the midwife and she has got me a scan tomorrow morning. Am really quite anxious about this. Any prayers going spare would be really welcome.

Lucyb9384 · 03/07/2006 12:23

Cadbury - my thoughts are definitly with you and i wish you all the best with your scan tomorrow - if you've had this with all your previous pregnancies perhaps it is just what your body does - and i know this is a really easy thing to say but try not to worry. Good luck for tomorrow.

soundbites · 03/07/2006 14:20

Cadbury, Mrs JC and Swift - sending lots of good wishes to you all.

I have a scan date at last. Unfortunately we are away on hols for my week 12 and that was the week they picked so I have had to arrange it for the following week on Thursday 27 July. I asked if they could fit it in before we go to put my mind at rest and the person I spoke to said the baby wouldn?t be developed enough and I?d only have to come back later for another scan. So looks like I will just have to wait. I am so impatient for it.

Does anyone know if the nucal (sp?) fold scan is done at the same time as this or do I need a separate appointment? Having only seen the doctor, not the midwife, I am a bit in the dark. I think I read that you can only have the nucal fold from weeks 10-14 and since my 12 week scan will actually be at week 13 that doesn't give me much time!

Thanks and stay cool!

suzi2 · 03/07/2006 20:12

Soundbites - they don't do the nuchal fold one in all areas. They don't offer it where I am so you're best to speak to your midwife and find out.

I'm still waiting to hear from my midwife about booking in, and after that a scan date. I'll give her another couple of weeks and then I'm calling the hospital! But I would imagine my scan will be mid August at about 12-14 wks.

MaybeBaba · 03/07/2006 20:55

Hello - it seems we are all suffering with the heat! We have air con in work and I point blank refuse to leave my desk at lunch as you get too sweaty!

No sickness symptoms (didn't have them last time either) but tiredness is really bad. Can't muster up the energy to do anything! Bought some new clothes this weekend - had to get a bigger size as my usual were too small and all the maternity stuff looked too big - plenty of time for that! It is great being pg over the winter - kind of keeps you warm - and then you have a few months to get back in shape beore the summer again!

Good luck for all the midwife appts - I haven't been to the docs yet - only 6 weeks so thing another one or two weeks will be ok - they don't seem in any hurry to book you in! My 12 week scan would be due at the end of my hols, so hope to get booked in for that mid august - 4 weeks to my hols - hope no one susses me before that!

peachygirl · 03/07/2006 21:03

Hi all,
I had a phone call from my doctor about my chicken pox test and it turn out I'm not immune he has arranged for me to have an immunoglobin injection on Wednesday. This won't stop me getting it but will mean that the symptoms will be lessened if I do.( I do think there is a very small risk)
When I had it as a child (well obviously not now) I did have a really mild case so maybe I just has a virus. I can't believe I haven?t managed to get it from one of the kids in school in the past few years!
Best wishes Cadbury for your scan. Try to keep cool everyone

Tommy · 03/07/2006 21:13

Good luck with scans everyone.
I'm still feeling lousy - this heat is no helping at all. Fell asleep at 7pm again today and didn't wake up til 8.30
Still trying to work out how to stave off sickness and not to put on any weight - still have half a stone to lose before I'm at my goal.
Any ideas? I just crave bread to get rid of the sickness

ChaCha · 04/07/2006 09:36

Good luck ladies, hoping that scans/appts all bring good news. Keep us posted.

Tommy - I had just gotten myself motivated to start SW last week when I started feeling 'not myself' and put it off. Tested the day after... so that idea was soon hit on the head!! I am two stone overweight, was so hoping to lose it this year but happy to be pregnant again

What is everyone else doing to combat sickness? I daren't speak too soon but after having 41 weeks of severe sickness with DS I'm definitely doing much better this time round. Trying not to drink so much iced coke this time and swapping for fizzy water - doesn't quite hit the spot the same though. Am also finding the 'eating little and often' is helping. Cleaned my kitchen all night - little early for nesting me thinks?!

Right, back to work x

diddle · 04/07/2006 11:50

CHACHA you randy madam!!! can't believe you're preggers again already. i think its fab. my sis and I only have 17 months between us and its lovely being so close in age. DH and I have discussed trying again whenJosh is 6 months old, although i'm happy to just recover from the last few weeks first.

So thrilled for you, mega congratulations

cadbury · 04/07/2006 12:49

Hi all.
Have had a scan. It showed that the baby is ok- there was a heart beat and it was about the right size for the dates. They couldn't see any reason for the spotting but I have started spotting again today. I should be feeling relieved but I'm still quite anxious. I guess I will be until I'm not spotting any more.

Any word from Mrs JC and swift? Fingers crossed for us all.

ChaCha · 04/07/2006 13:52

Cadbury - Great news on the scan You must be very pleased, as I said before, my friend bled up until week 12 with both her kids and all was well. Seeing the heartbeat is fab

Diddle - I vowed that DS would be an only child after c-sec last year.....hmmmm!!!

suzi2 · 04/07/2006 17:13

That sounds like a very positive scan Cadbury. If it helps any, the chances of mc after seeing the heartbeat are quite low (less that 5% at 8 wks I think).

My symptoms seem to be dwindling, no longer feeling nauseous all the time but that could be because I'm only eating carbs! But trying hard not to be paranoid!

cadbury · 04/07/2006 18:03

Thanks ChaCha and suzi - that's reassuring suzi, especially as I'm still spotting. I am still really worried and my dh flies out to Australia tonight for 10 days and I'm not sure how I'll cope without him. I have a low level ache in my pelvis but I can't decide if that is connected. My midwife wonders if the bleeding could be coming from my cervix but I don't understand why that should be.

Mrs JC? Swift? How are things?

ChaCha · 04/07/2006 18:04

Suzi2 - feeling the same today. Last summer I would eat lunch and take a nap, wake up and throw up everywhere and be ill for the rest of the night. Have napped with DS this afternoon after lunch, woke up fine and don't really feel anything except the odd wave of nausea, shouldn't speak to soon but after last time this is definitely different.
I saw heartbeat last time at 8 weeks with private scan, when is the earliest i can book one do you think?

maazaa · 04/07/2006 18:16

Evening All..glad you had scan cadbury - the stats looked stacked in your favour, thinking of you. any word from mrs jc or swift? thinking of you too.

all ok with me - no real nausea, just tired, but would be in this heat anyway. just want scan to come but is weeks away, not even booked. Is a private one £100 or so?

ChaCha · 04/07/2006 18:25

I'm not sure why either Cadbury - can you call and ask her? It might put your mind at rest.
Think everything will be just fine Sending you positive vibes {{{pv}}}

Maazaa - My private scans were about 75 pounds last year, I had one to confirm PG and one at 8weeks. I am tempted to do another as once I see that heartbeat mind is at rest.

suzi2 · 04/07/2006 19:37

Cadbury, I've heard that bleeding from the cervix can be common. I think (IIRC from when I read up on everything pregnancy with DS!) that it can be due to the increased blood volume and also the hormones. I know that hormones can make women bleed midcycle as well as their period, make them bleed when going on or off the pill etc so it's not unreasonable to assume that pregnancy hormones could cause a bleed in the cervix. The cervix is pretty delicate and can get irritated easily.

As far as I know, minor cervical bleeding is nothing to worry about. HTH

peachygirl · 04/07/2006 19:50

Hi cadbury I hipe everything is ok, everyone seems to be giving you good advice.
I'm not feeling to sick either very tired though.
I'll check in tomorrow after I have my jab. I've been given the whoe day off work. so I'll have to get on with my reports (sigh)

TicTac · 04/07/2006 20:49

Hi All,

Please forgive my gatecrash, I was due in Feb '06 and had my baby in Jan, she is now 5.5 months old! I can't believe you guys are here, pregnant, due same time I was but a year on...
I can still remember how it felt and all the little worries...good luck to you all and I hope time passes quick enough for you!!! XXX

teabags · 04/07/2006 23:57

Hey all

Cadbury - Good news re: scan. I'd find it hard not to worry too but I hope you can take some comfort from the scan and comments on here

Mrs JC and Swift - how are you?

Soundbites - I'm having my scan at 13 weeks, and it includes the nuchal test. I think that's fairly standard now for most health authorities isn't it?

Feeling less tired and more 'normal'. the heat makes me feel yuk, thank god for Solero ice creams!

cadbury · 05/07/2006 08:01

not all places do a nuchal fold scan - they often do if it's a teaching hospital I think but they don't at ours.

soundbites · 05/07/2006 10:30

Thanks for the info about the nuchal fold, Teabags and Cadbuy and Suzi. I decided I'd better call the surgery and ask. The midwife is only in the surgery between 8.30am and 9.30am which coincides exactly with when I am on the train so DH called for me this morning and the receptionist took my mobile number and has promised that the mw will call me this afternoon. I'd quite like to have had some communication with her before the scan etc. I'd thought I'd have a midwife appmt by now, but maybe that is not so. Being my first baby I am especially anxious to know what is going on!
