Very happy for you red! Make sure your looked after I bet you can't wait to get home

AlohaMama · 09/06/2013 08:50

MrsBri just reading the MN classics thread but 5 pages in I have to stop. Laughing/crying so hard I'm worried it will bring on labour!

Sarah2506 · 09/06/2013 09:27

Morning all. I'm still in hospital and absolutely dying to escape. I'm all good as is the small girl so hoping it won't be long. The first 24 hours were pretty rough but I'm up and about now and just want to escape! The noise of other babies and people in and out is horrendous. Haven't slept in three nights! Shortly heading to a feeding forum- it is so painful!

Hope everyone is well, and look forward to more babies this week!

curlyclaz13 · 09/06/2013 09:53

great news that you are off home red.
40 wks today and still nothing, no mucous plug, no bh since thurs and that was the first time ! and his bum is still in my ribs. Went to the pub last night but resisted temptation, have baked this morning and will walk to town later. might have to involve OH later to encourage an appearance.

RueDeWakening · 09/06/2013 10:49

I hate "sleeping" in hospitals, so I feel your pain red and Sarah - hope you can escape soon too Sarah!

Red, yay for going home :o hope you get out quickly - the ward must be open by now, surely, maybe you're already home?!

Sending baby stay put vibes to Aloha, and baby come out vibes to all those who want them.

MrsBri · 09/06/2013 10:55

Aloha, my DH had to remind me to breathe while I was laughing / crying yesterday reading it :-) I was hoping it would bring on labour, however. But no luck yet.

My sister has recommended another funny thread for me to read today, so maybe that one will have the desired effect.

I hope everyone in hospital escapes soon. I've been told they're the least restful places on the planet, which is ironic as you're often kept there to rest!

I think Baby B has run out of room now. His movements are nowhere near as violent now. Still as regular, just a bit more muted than before. I wish he'd realise that the best thing to do is exit so he can have all the room he needs! :-)

Just to update you all that baby Isabelle was born by elective section on the 3rd June, weighing 9lb 10oz (I'd measured perfectly all the way through, so this was unexpected!).

I really didn't want a section but they discovered she was breech at 38 weeks (and decided to carry it out at just over 39 weeks - the shock!). I was dreading it during that week, but I had the most amazing experience - it was nothing like I expected. The section was very relaxed, with the theatre staff chatting and joking to us while it was being carried out. All of the hospital staff were amazing, in fact - so supportive and couldn't do enough to help.

In terms of recovery, I had the section on Monday afternoon and was discharged first thing on Wednesday morning! They had said to expect to be in there for a minimum of 3-4 days, all being well, so I was pleasantly surprised. I was mobile from Tuesday morning and as I was back home on Wednesday morning, that was when I first had to use stairs (which I'm managing fine with). We even went out for a little walk when we got home!

Massive congratulations to everyone else who has had their babies; a lot has happened since I've been away!

MrsBri · 09/06/2013 11:39

Congratulations! Such a good size too :-) And a lovely name (which was on my list).

Steffanoid · 09/06/2013 11:49

i really like this one on classics Meanmum

learnermummy · 09/06/2013 11:53

Congratulations Ella Smile, that is a big baby for 39 weeks!

Glad to hear you're better and getting home Red. Hope you get home soon Sarah.

redwellybluewelly · 09/06/2013 12:53

Wow. Big baby! Congratulations!

We are just home. Had forgotten how hot they keep hospitals, seems so cold at home. Got out by the skin of our teeth after baby welly started showing signs of jaundice and lost weight as well

If you really want a giggle look at the funniest bitsof childbirth in classics.

Congrats Ella. My dad the GP thought it would be funny to wind me up last night telling me I was going to need to get baby out of the sunroof if it didn't get moving of its own accord. Apparently making a heavily pregnant woman scared is highly amusing.

Anyway I think I'm definately in that pre-labour stage. Mucous plug coming away? Check. Painful back? Check. Shooting groin pains? Check. The odd contraction like feeling? Check. Just hope it gets a move on soon. DH would especially like it to get started in the next hour so he has an excuse to come home from work and watch the Grand Prix.

ella0 · 09/06/2013 16:08

Thank you :) . My husband is 6'6" so I wasn't expecting her to be small! Thank goodness she was breech!

AmIGoingMad · 09/06/2013 16:28

Congratulations Ella!Smile

Glad that you're home now red and hope you manage to escape soon too Sarah! I remember being stuck in the hospital before and after DS was born and sleeping was just impossible at a time when I needed it more than ever!

Keep the classics suggestions coming- they're great!

AlohaMama · 09/06/2013 16:47

Congrats Ella. Lovely name.

learnermummy · 09/06/2013 17:22

Here's hoping things get moving for you soon Sunny x

Steffanoid · 09/06/2013 18:01

hope things go fast sunny,
everything but the contraction pains every now and again here just plug been going over tge past week, backache/period pains and shooting in my groin a bit

made oh jump out of his skin coming out of the shop earlier, got spiked on the foot by a thorn an had the audacity to say ow, I think he thought the baby was literally about to shoot out from between my legs!

in all honesty I dont think this baby is going to arrive he likes the onside too much

Knomski · 09/06/2013 18:08

Hi all, congrats to all the new mummy's and glad everyone is doing well now. My little girl arrived at 4 am this morning at 37 weeks! so glad we made it to term after our scare at 31 weeks:) she is so beautiful and I am on cloud nine! Still no idea what to call her though :/
Come on the rest of you June babies, don't keep tour mummy's waiting too long :)

Hawkmoth · 09/06/2013 18:15

Shit day. Not feeling very resilient at all. Baby can hang on as long as it likes.

Steffanoid · 09/06/2013 18:40

congrats knomski, her name will come to you soon Smile

another funny one on classics is aibu from a toddlers view, can't like cause im on tge app and can't work it out haha

redwellybluewelly · 09/06/2013 19:24

Cs ladies

How much numbness do you have? I am numb from my belly button to just above my bikini line, I asked the MW when it would wear off and she said it may or may not return to normal but could take months and months?

After being happy with feeding in hospital since we got home I can't get a decent feed in her, she has already lost some weight (due to me being ill) ans has a touch of jaundice, bloody weather means I'm also struggling to keep her warm. We've put the heating on! In June!

Sarah2506 · 09/06/2013 20:47

red me too. On both accounts. Though actually hadn't noticed until you said! Numb completely. Husband had hernia op and said it was the same.

Polly is dehydrated and wasn't feeding well or weeing or pooing. She was getting jaundiced as well. Hospital said I must give her formula. Too tired and emotional to resist and DH in tears as well. Felt so sad. But she's perked up and looks do much better for it which I guess means we did the right thing.

pinkapples · 09/06/2013 22:01

Having some mad BH tonight fingers crossed something exciting kicks off but not holding out much hope

SunnyL · 09/06/2013 22:17

Been having irregular contractions since bout 4pm. They seem to die off when I stop moving though. In two minds - do I go to bed and let things run their course or continue to wander around in the hope that I might ramp them up a bit. just thinking this could be my last chance to sleep for a while so should make the most of it?!? Dilemmas. So so jealous of all you ladies with babies already.

MrsBri · 09/06/2013 22:25

Sunny, I'd take some paracetamol and try to sleep. You may be grateful you took the chance to sleep when you had it.

I've had a curry tonight and may well try 'home induction' again later as well. You can but try! :-/

I'm also jealous of people with babies. Or even signs of baby arriving. Not long now though. :-)
