Glad to hear im not the only one being emotionally hard work at the moment. I can feel myself being super clingy especially when I havent seen DH which I havent this week really.
Ive also been super irritable and DH keeps referring to my "pregnancy rage" which makes me laugh when Im getting so wound up to the point of crying about ridiculous things, including the fact that the voice was on on Friday instead of Saturday and we didnt realise (I think Im going crazy! )

Hope you're feeling better MoN

Natalieand · 09/06/2013 09:31

Every time I'm irrational, crying, stressy or moaning how fed up I am with our life dh says I no your problem you were like this last time you were pregnant men r so mean!

Isit too early to decorate dd's room to suit a boy and girl and change it round n put the cot up?

claphammama · 09/06/2013 10:11

MoN so sorry you are feeling rough again... you are so unlucky with this pregnancy. Hope it can only get better now!

And yes, I'm miss needy too these days. Hate being on my own when DP is away or out, even if it's only one night. And need constant reassurance and cuddles.

shooting I live 5 min walk from Northcote Road!! (aka the nappy valley). For all I know you could be next door right now! Where did you go shopping? Did you also used to live nearby tarlia? I absolutely love it here.

moon glad you like Conrad too :-) I'm still trying to find other names as would love to have 3-4 on the shortlist but can't find any others so far...

We have friends visiting round this weekend but it went differently from what we expected. She ate something dodgy the night before so spent all of last night in their bedroom being sick and we had only half of the couple to entertain. I have a suspicion she might be pregnant but they are denying everything :-) They have a two year old they left behind with grandparents so are enjoying their rare lie in and are still in bed. I want my breakfast thought!!

claphammama · 09/06/2013 10:11

last word meant to be though not thought!

MotherOfNations · 09/06/2013 10:42

I'm feeling so much better today thanks. I phoned the maternity hospital yrstyesterday and they said they couldn't help much, just told me to take lactulose and if it hasn't worked by Monday to book in with the nurse for an enema.
I wasn't holding out much hope of it working but sent Dp out to the chemist anyway. He wasn't to chuffed when he found out it was £7 and said at that price it had better work so thank God it did. It caused stomach cramps so bad I was beginning to wonder if I was in labour though.
I'm taking this episode as a warning to eat a bit healthier through this pregnancy. I'm not wanting to go through that again.

PenelopeLane · 09/06/2013 10:45

Clapham I only really have one name too! I have picked my girls' name and DH likes it too, now I am now terrified one of the 5 people I know who are having girls before me will use it! Irrational? Probably! Especially as it is a top 15 name - in fact, number 15 in 2012 where I live, and is a name regularly described on MN as being far too common so not outside the realm of possibility it will be used. I am worried someone else will use it and it will get weird, especially after reading a couple of 'another woman used DS/DD's name' threads on here Grin

OrangeBlossom2 · 09/06/2013 10:49

So glad it worked MoN.

Off to the tip now. Not really picnic weather so going to do some tidying jobs instead and eat Tacos outside if we get a glimmer of sun around lunch time. Though I will be mainly supervising as can't lift heavy things.

My Jaffa cakes were yummy but a bit sophisticated and so not sweet enough :( I want cheap milky sweet chocolate!

TheFalconsmistress · 09/06/2013 11:03

Glad your feeling better mon

I am sunburnt :S and have a cold bug as does DH and DS.
Which means no usual sunday stuff like church and park and thing we normally do instead it means a duvet and crap telly!

MrsO27 · 09/06/2013 11:15

roxvox I mentioned before that I was feeling more clingy than normal to DH. Clingy maybe isn't the best word but it's like I need him around more and I seem to worry about him a lot more when he's out without me. Always hoping he's driving carefully, not fallen down drunk in a ditch etc. But, like you say, not something that bothers me during the day at work. I reckon it's mother nature at work, must be some inherent need for us to feel safe/protected when we're expecting.

Slippysnow · 09/06/2013 11:23

Don't forget to update the spreadsheet everyone ( returnees and newcomers too). I'll be adding soon :)

cherrycherry41 · 09/06/2013 11:54

Cant get on spreadsheet so someone add me please?

EDD- 06/10, Boy, considering Harrison Smile

Slippysnow · 09/06/2013 12:46

FeministInTraining · 09/06/2013 13:28

Afternoon! DP is in a spring cleaning mood so I'm making the most of it, he was up early this morning to surprise me with McDonalds breakfast (I'm a classy bird!) and has done all of the washing. I'm really excited about clearing out stuff- especially clothes that don't fit me, going to bag them up.

Mon glad you've been relieved, an enema doesn't sound like much fun Hmm hope you have a smooth journey from now on.

Natalie I agree with the others in that I wouldn't go clubbing and wouldn't feel like a spoil sport about it! Think I went to a club twice last year (see fb profile pic!), bored of it at the grand age of 26 lol. I like sitting down you see... Grin

roxvox it's me that is getting the Britax Affinity. Amazingly mothercare have an offer on it where the £110 carrycot is free, so you get the whole lot for £408. That sealed the deal for me although I wish the carrycot wasn't grey at the bottom (regardless of the colour you choose). Going to set up the baby plan account this week so I get the offer and get it paid for/delivered much closer to the time.

The baby in my belly seems to be kicking its way around my anterior placenta, I never feel kicks around my belly button area but they're everywhere else. I even saw my belly move a couple of times, and DP has felt a few now. 22 weeks tomorrow and it definitely got stronger in the last week so hold on in there anterior placenta gang! I also have the line down my belly- both above and below my belly button. My mum still has hers despite the fact she hasn't been pg for 17 years! Having darker skin makes it more obvious I think, something to do with pigments Hmm

Oh, and I am feeling very attached to DP ATM, he's going camping with his school (he's a teacher too) at the beginning of July for 4 nights. Trying not to think about it Sad

Looong post, apologies. And I probably forgot loads!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 09/06/2013 13:44

claphammamma you are so so lucky living near northcote! I've picked my house to live in on Honeywell rd I just need the 1.5 million to pay for it and we're moving in!!! I bought some lovely things from the merino kids shop- sleeping bags and some swaddled things. Also some jojo maman stuff and some sweet cushions in susie Watson- the fabric for the babies curtains is from there too. We had lunch in chez Bruce opposite Wandsworth common- if you've never been go its delicious! Been to the kings road today and heading home later with all our goodies!

Pannacotta2013 · 09/06/2013 14:39

I'm just back from a hypnobirthing course - we've done it for the last couple of weekends. I quite recommend it, especially for first timers. It gives you lots of reassuring advice and guidance, and loads of relaxations and visualizations, and tries to teach you to work with your body in labour. It has helped me feel more relaxed and excited about giving birth, rather than dreading it.

With my anterior placenta it doesn't feel like the descriptions I've heard from others - popcorn popping or flicking. Its more like the baby is dancing on my bladder, or like that feeling when you go quickly over a small bridge in a car, that sort of dropping swooping feeling. Or like I need a poo Blush. I'm 22+4 and I've been feeling it pretty regularly for around a week or so now.

MoN I'm pleased you've had some relief, constipation is miserable isn't it.

Natalieand I don't think you need to go out clubbing at late pregnancy! Could you just head over for the first part of the evening, they probably will get some food or have low key drinks at the hotel to start off with, even if they don't want to commit to it now. Then you can leave... if they see you've made that effort to join them surely someone will insist they all stop and eat together so that you can be a part of some of the evening?!

And re clingy around DP, I think I haven't particularly noticed it but he is being VERY available, I am being quite self-indulgent and he is being quite lovely about it, so um maybe that's a yes!

FeministInTraining · 09/06/2013 15:09

Pannacotta that's the only feeling I had at first and I still get it regularly now. Usually when I'm sitting in the car or on the train, like baby is rolling around very low. I wonder what they're doing, feels like roly polys!

Smitten1981 · 09/06/2013 15:12

I start hypnobirthing in a month, can't wait to get started.

Has anyone transferred hospitals? I'm wondering if I have to go for another booking appt at the new one or not? I haven't heard anything yet apart from receiving a call to see where I was at with scans.

cherrycherry41 · 09/06/2013 15:14

Thank you Slippy Smile

OrangeBlossom2 · 09/06/2013 16:41

We have just got back from a trip to ikea to look at cots and other nursery furniture. Aways so many pregnant ladies there, and many further along than me so I felt less panicked about having nothing ready yet. We didn't buy anything today except more boxes to move things into the attic as we need to do a bit more careful measuring and don't want to put more stuff in the house before new carpets and decorating next week. A fun trip though.

Shirehobbit · 09/06/2013 16:58

Ikea? Fun?
I don't understand... Wink

claphammama · 09/06/2013 17:04

Glad you are feeling better MoN! You really deserve a break!

shooting how funny - we took our friends for a walk in Northcote today. We went to Merino Kids and bought a sleeping bag and a swaddling set too! They had such an amazing sale on. We also bought the first babygrow in Jojo Mama (the one with blue elephants and orange borders) and DS "bought" a cuddly toy for his little brother. DS's blinds are from Susie Watson too! And of course I know Chez Bruce :-) they have an amazing cheese board... obviously wasted on me now.

I feel so much better having finally bought some new things for this baby! And now our friends left, I'm going to go through all DS's old clothes and sort them out! Can't wait any longer.

penelope I wouldn't worry about 5 people somewhere in the UK potentially choosing the same name :-) We are all in different places anyway! And you never know with these things. When I named DS Leonardo I thought he would have a very unusual name (at least in this country). And he does but, ironically, when he went to the nursery one of the boys in his group was also Leonardo... and the parents didn't even have any Italian connections, simply liked the name. What are the odds?!

MotherOfNations · 09/06/2013 17:35

Thankyou everyone. I can't believe it's Monday again tomorrow and I've spent the whole weekend in bed ill.

Shootingstarsandcomets · 09/06/2013 17:35

I know the sale was amazing- I wish I'd got more sleeping bags now but never mind. Ds had the orange and blue elephant baby grow from when he was newborn- we have parallel lives!!!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 09/06/2013 17:42

We didnt have the cheese at chez Bruce either but what we did have was just fab and really god value- ds (9 months) loved the bread selection and enjoyed chewing it and throwing it on the floor!

TheFalconsmistress · 09/06/2013 18:17

Cant believe im 24 weeks already Shock
