Big Turning Point! Well done!!!!!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

eenywifemum · 15/06/2006 12:22

Morning everyone (um... afternoon Blush)

Welcome MuminaQuandary - Like Salamander said our official due date is the 1 Sept but we've been on this board as each scan we have had since the date was set has said mid-August. (Sal is my DH, we aren't one pregnant woman! haha) The hospital trust we are in does not adjust the due date and I have a feeling the conception date might have been off originally. Anyway we'll see!

Olivo sorry you are feeling sick again today! I was last night as I was trying to go to bed - it's just so awful! ggrrr. Can't WAIT to hear what your DH has brought back for you!! You must be so excited!! And congrats on getting to 30 weeks, I have one week and one day to go and as you can see I am counting down! I hope once I pass 30 weeks I feel like it is all downhill from there!

Did you know that in the US the average length of pregnancy is no longer 40 weeks but is now 39?

I got an annoying email from my boss today - I am still signed off because of my hyperemesis and every month I have to check in with her and say 'Yes, I still cant work full time' as they have refused to let me come back on a part time basis (really helpful Angry) and even though THIS email wasnt nasty (some in the past have been) I just want to scream I dont want to have to go through the same thing again. Cant wait til I go on MAT leave so I dont have to speak to them anymore. Knowing her (my boss) she will want a phone call every months confirming I am still on MAT leave!

purpleturtle · 15/06/2006 15:34

Well, my busy week has finally caught up with me, and I've felt rubbish today. Went out this morning and found out the group I was making coffee for was cancelled, so came home and climbed back into bed Shock.

Now trying to come up with ideas for Father's Day cards to make with the kids when dh goes out to work.

muminaquandary · 15/06/2006 20:58

thanks for the welcome messages!
olivo - where do you live?
eenywife - what is hyperemesis?

dressedupnowheretogo · 15/06/2006 21:02

i woke up this morning and i thought i was in labour Shock

me and the dh had an amazing session last nightWinkBlush and baby started moving really strongly and low then i went into a bliss ful sleep

then this morning i woke up with dh had a cup of tea and oh my god i have never felt anything like it it was like someone had grabbed my bump with both hands and was trying to shake the baby out Shock i then ended up on the loo and crawling into bed feeling sick and this went on for three hours so i decided to go and see mw this afternoon and guess what

im not even engaged it was probably strong braxton hicks the baby has got her legs pointing in to pelvis and has obviously decided to start kicking whilst she can

but found out my blood from last week are all normal and my bp is up and im well if not a little shaken

olivio where are you have i missed something

dressedupnowheretogo · 15/06/2006 21:03

and hi muminaquandry

eenywifemum · 15/06/2006 21:15

Hi PT - any luck with the daddy's day cards?

Booby I would have been so scared!! You poor thing!! Sorry! SO glad that the baby is fine though and you are NOT going into early labour!!

muminaq - (can I call you muminaq?) hyperemesis is when you throw up constantly due to being pregnant. It's like 'morning sickness on crack' It is better now - I still have to take 6 pills a day just to function - but I was being sick up to 20 times a day and was in hospital for a week on a drip and it was hell. And sadly if you get it in your first pregnancy you are likely to get it in every pregnancy so this will probably be our only baby.

I have posted a thread in pregnancy about how I am feeling at the moment - any advice would be much appreciated. Basically I am just really cranky but dont worry I wont take it out on you! :)

Hope everyone is doing well!

dressedupnowheretogo · 16/06/2006 08:36

well the sun is shining ive blown my pool up and it is currently being filled im going upstairs to put on my bikini top should be funny as my next door neighbour has men in doing work and they are the roof hope they dont find pregnant women offensive

will be knitting furiously as have promised to have a scarf ready for my brother for his friends birthday tomorrow

eenywifemum · 16/06/2006 09:50

booby they might find pregnant women sexy!! Prepare for some stares! You are sweet, knitting a scarf for your brother's friend! How old is your brother? I dont know how to knit but keep meaning to teach myself.

purpleturtle · 16/06/2006 10:03

A scarf? In this weather?

I'm finally getting organised here. My friend rang last night to say she'd sorted out her loft, so I went round and collected a Moses basket, bouncy chair and piles of little baby clothes. Smile Some of the clothes are from my dd and ds, and it's really lovely being reunited with them! Need to sort through into boy, girl and neutral and get it all washed, so I should have plenty to do for the next little while.

muminaquandary · 16/06/2006 10:13

Thank you for explanation eeny & poor you. My aunt had this & if it makes you feel any better, it did improve with her 2nd pg, but i don't think she would have considred having 3 ...

Lovely weather everyone let's hope it stays nice but COOL overnight

olivo · 16/06/2006 10:56

booby - you and your pool Grin - I'm Envy of all of you out there in the sun - stuck in my stuffy classroom.

mumina q / booby - I'm in Jersey, Channel islands, so its always a treat when someone goes over to England as we dont have many of the chain stores or any big supermarkets here and i miss my asda and tesco bargains!! we are actually closer to france but cant even go there now!

speaking of bargains, dh has come into his own with a great haul from his trip! he went to asda, tesco, ikea, superdrug and babies r us - probably doesnt sound exciting to you but we dont have any of those shops here, just ELC, boots and Mothercare for baby things plus a few boutique type shops.
he bought vests, sleepsuits, toys, sunshades, bibs, toiletries for me ( i miss superdrug!!), pram blankets, feeding stuff - he's been a star! can't wait to have a proper look at it all at the weekend!

sorry to go on but little things please little minds etc Wink !

ps - booby - hope you're ok now - must have been really scary!

purpleturtle · 16/06/2006 11:01

At least you know what brought it on Booby!

dressedupnowheretogo · 16/06/2006 11:39

dressedupnowheretogo · 16/06/2006 11:40

BigHotMama · 16/06/2006 12:13

Hi everyone hope your well!

Booby I had similar thing happen few weeks ago, took my breathe away and started to panic as didnt know what it was, havent had it since though? Hope your ok now!

Welcome & congrats muminaq! Come join in the madness! Grin

Pucca hows your 4d scan gone today?

Eeny its a bummer you have a shitty boss hun, you'd think with her being a lady she'd understand as its normally male bosses that are the arses.

Feels like baba is rolling around today, not getting so many kicks as normal more like pushing sensations and I'm sure I feel a tiny hand nearly touch my bladder, what the hell is baba doing in there? Ha loving it!

Is anybody getting bad calf cramps during the night? Woke up in agony this morning then couldnt get back to sleep! Think I may have starined a muscle during the game last night as forgot me being pg and decided to jump around when the 2 goals were scored oops! Grin

Its taken me around 4 attempts to post this, fingers crossed this one works! PC's hate 'em! Angry

purpleturtle · 16/06/2006 12:26

Do you think it was more scary because it's so early, though Boobylicious? You might cope better with the whole deal knowing that it's the right time for it to be happening IYKWIM.

I haven't actually had full cramp in my calves, but most mornings when I stretch my legs I can feel them beginning to catch, but it goes away if I remember to point my toes upwards.

When are we supposed to get measured for nursing bras? I'm already wearing a bigger size than any of the nursing bras I already own, so I feel a bra shopping trip coming on.

Salamander · 16/06/2006 12:54

OLIVO
Congrats on that big haul and well done to your DH. what a guy!!!!

Eeny's boss is a total workaholic career lunatic. She has no comprehension of what a pregnancy is like - at all.
I'm sure we've all met 'those women'.
Worse even than a male boss, as she thinks to herself "I wouldn't be like that"

PinkTulips · 16/06/2006 13:11

hello all, haven't read through yet so no idea what everyone's been up to. our pc is infested with a really nasty virus so using one of the pc's in my dads internet cafe while i'm up here for dd's christening.

going slowly insane as godparents and grandparents are causing all sorts of commotion, i'll pop on next week and tell you whether we all survived and whether dd ever does manage to get holied up Wink

Feathers, hope the move is going well, can't wait to hear how you settle into your new house Smile

OP posts:
eenywifemum · 16/06/2006 13:49

Hi all! Isnt it a lovely day? Had a friend come over today with her little boy & we went to feed the ducks.

PT good luck with the christening! Hope you dont go mad!! Cant wait to hear about it.

Olivo that is so lovely that you got all those goodies!!! Grin YAY!!! I bet you have had so much fun looking through it all.

Purple - Thats a good question about the nursing bras. I seem to remember it is 36 weeks but I'm not sure... Mothercare or the NCT would know.

BHM - not sure if I've ever said this before, sorry if I am repeating myself, but when I told my boss I was pregnant (after 4 years of trying!) she said within about 5 mins 'Well it's early yet you might still lose it' Angry

CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT??? That has to be one of the MOST insensitive things you can say to a newly pregnant woman!

I was getting bad calf cramps a couple of weeks ago but it seems to have eased up a bit. Hope it stays that way, it is SUCH an uncomfortable thing!

My friend taught herself how to knit online and keeps on at me to learn - I need to just sit down and do it! I tried crocheting a baby blanket and lets just say it didnt go well..

Arabica · 16/06/2006 15:09

Hello everyone, phewwww, it's hot in N London. I'm fine and loving that I don't have any scans this week. I've been very brave and bought a baby outfit and have 3 more cute little newborn vest things on order from Greenbaby (organic cotton, fairtrade). Have also found out that if the baby does need a shunt operation then it won't be whisked off immediately--they'll let him or her recover from being born for a couple of days or so. Which is nice to know.
I think my baby has moved down now as I am feeling more kicks at the top or bottom of the bump and less at the side.

Arabica · 16/06/2006 15:11

Sorry forgot to welcome Muminaquandry. I shouldn't really be on this thread as although due on 2/8, I am also having a C-section in July. But I quite fancy being first to graduate from this thread (being thread granny, and all).

PinkTulips · 16/06/2006 15:51

o good lord, dd's godmother has just rung to say she's got a nasty eye infection, is doped up on antibiotics, contagious and the doctor says she can't be around children Sad i think i'm going to have a nervous breakdown before tomorrow!
