Salamander · 31/05/2006 14:42

byesey bye PT

Salamander · 31/05/2006 14:44

Arabica - were the first Augusta to get your Anti-D????

eenywifemum · 31/05/2006 14:49

thanks for the info Arabica. I dont mind injections too much either, or having blood taken. When I was in hosp for hyperemesis they gave me cyclizine through my drip and that hurt like hell so I am relieved to hear anti-d isnt like that.

Right I must go now and go to the post office and just get it over with. UGH.

Arabica · 31/05/2006 14:52

Probably, cos I had it after my amnio at 21 weeks--although if anyone had CVS/amnio at 13wks or had had a threatened miscarriage, they'd have had one, too.
I am officially still an Augusta but will be a July-a (Julia?) due to my elective C-section which will happen on 26 July at latest depending on health of the baby and what kind of interventions or special care they are planning for it. If I have to give birth at King's College they probably won't tell me the date until the baby's started primary school, going on their current form in advising of decisions!
Right, Arabica. Get. Back. To Work.

Arabica · 31/05/2006 14:54

I think it depends on the drip-fitter! When I was in hosp last Feb I had a drip that stung like feck but it was put in by inexperienced SHO (aged about 14).

Salamander · 31/05/2006 14:57

Arabica!
You are funny!

I hope upon hope you get a nice easy Anti-D injection Eeny by a talented 40,000 injections so far in their career specialist.

eenywifemum · 31/05/2006 15:00

well the drip was a bit of a nightmare but the cyclizine going in just felt like your vein was on fire and really really hurt. I had a mark on my hand from the drip for 3 months after it was taken out! It was in for 5 days.

Arabica you made me laugh re:the primary school thing. Somebody needs to kick your medical team up the whazoo!

oh god I really have to go to the post office and my adorable cat has jumped on my lap and I feel guilty moving him!

Salamander · 31/05/2006 15:05

"up the Whazoo!"

i'm going to remember that phrase all day!

Salamander

eenywifemum · 31/05/2006 16:39

Lunavix - Sorry I meant to say ages ago and forgot that me & Salamander would be up for a meet sometime with the babies. I just love the idea of getting a load of babies in one room together! Beautiful Chaos!

olivo · 31/05/2006 16:47

booby - i think charlie jayne is lovely - both me and dh really liked charlie for a girl but then last year, our nephew charlie arrived so no can do!!!

have spent the afternoon with afore mentioned charlie in the paddling pool - the sun is shining and everyone here is happy! i love summer!!Smile

(now I have to come back down to earth and go and mark 150 exam papers Angry!!)

eenywifemum · 31/05/2006 16:53

ooh Olivo I am happy for you but Envy as we havent had much of a summer here yet! Still I know we'll get it eventually!

katylou25 · 31/05/2006 19:39

Just wanted to add a proud mummy moment here - my DS is FINALLY walking! He started at the weekend and now there's no stopping him - was chasing ducks around the park this afternooon saying "quack quack" over and over again - bless! Grin

Am v glad because with my huge bump was getting really diff. to carry him.

Think Charlie Jayne is lovely name ( with either spelling!!) Booby

Good luck to all of those having Anti-d's.

Our house buyers are messing around again Angry can seee myself giving birth in the back of the removals van at this rate - were sposed to have moved by now but contracts still not bl**dy signed!

Anyway feeling really well this week think its being out in the sunshine with DS but absolutely shattered every evening, just want to go to bed when he does at 7.30

that turned into a bit of an essay sorry guys hope your flu goes eeny - am sure brownies will do the trick mmmm chocolate may have to go see what i can find now!

sarahlou1uk · 31/05/2006 20:18

Katy - can sympathise with you regarding house buyers Angry. When we moved 2 years ago, if it hadn't been for me phoning my buyers and who we were buying off to set a date, we would still be waiting! Our solicitors were less than useless. TBH we never saw our solicitor - only her assistant!

Now that the sun is finally out, I find I have a bit more energy to chase ds around but not that much. Like you, I could quite happily go to bed at 8pm when he does!

sarahlou1uk · 31/05/2006 20:19

Oh, forgot to say, congratulations on walking success!!!!!! Grin

eenywifemum · 31/05/2006 20:22

katylou congratulations!! I went all gushy thinking about a baby walking for the first time!! It's such a wonderful feeling!! Sorry about your moving hassle, you and Yellow are in the same boat!

Brownies were lovely and very filling so now I have to try to make myself eat dinner.

PinkTulips · 31/05/2006 22:16

katylou, congratulations to your little boy, had that moment a month ago with dd, it's the most amazing feeling isn't it? she's running around like a lunatic now and it still amazes me.

eenywifemum · 01/06/2006 01:00

hi everyone! I cant sleep. My mind is racing. I am thinking about (worrying about!) baby being breech when the time comes and needing a c-section. And if I would be happy at the hospital that would be done at. (I'm not giving birth at a hospital as long as all goes to plan I am going to a midwife birthing centre)

And lastly but sadly not least I am also fretting about whether or not a handbag I want to buy has already been sold. How sad is that?

I just cant sleep.

So here I am! Ugh. Going to troll the message boards and see if anyone is awake!

Arabica · 01/06/2006 10:51

Don't worry. Your baby has plenty of time to turn before the birth. Anyway, C-sections are cool, I enjoyed mine so much I am having another!!
Yes, I am in a good mood this morning as I have finally heard from hospital after what seemed like 27 years, and they have found no additional problems, just the fluid. Have to return on Monday to receive full report and find out if I need more MRI scans.

eenywifemum · 01/06/2006 11:05

thanks arabica. I know its silly to worry about things like this at this stage but you know how it is when you cant sleep your mind just goes over every eventuality. I barely slept last night so I am waiting up for the car seat to be delivered and then hopefully I will have time to take a nap!

I am so happy for you that you found out there are no further problems! So what is the situation that you are facing now, with the fluid? You must be so relieved though that there isnt anything else to contend with.

purpleturtle · 01/06/2006 11:29

Wow! I know I've not been on for a few days, but there's 300 messages on this thread!

Dh is currently attempting to install the new washer/dryer that was delivered this morning. Prewashing a load of nappies last week sounded the death knell of the old one. I am quite pleased, as that was the one supplied with the house, which I hated, and we have permission to put our own in and take it with us when we leave, so long as we store the old one. (It clanks horribly - can't imagine what the landlady thinks she's going to do with it).

The shower has also died. Plumber has pronounced it completely burnt out. Not likely to see a speedy result on that one, apparently. Oh well.

I have finally written a list of stuff i think we need to acquire before baby comes along. Doesn't seem too bad, as long as everyone who has promised to give/lend us stuff delivers. Or maybe, there's loads of stuff I've forgotten about.

Having posted last week that my MW was concerned about baby's postition, I have concluded she's not actually that bothered, as she didn't write it in my notes at all. So I am not worrying about it.

eenywifemum · 01/06/2006 11:40

hi purple! good to see someone else on here! I am trying to stay awake so thanks for giving me something to read! sorry you are having hassle with your appliances & shower! What kind of nappies are you using? We are going to pick up our Bambino Mio birth to potty pack this weekend, I am so excited!

We have a list as well that we have been working on, it is so satisfying to tick things off of it!

Glad your midwife isnt worried about baby's position. I know we are all early enough yet that they can move around loads.

YellowFeathers · 01/06/2006 13:16

My you lot can gab Grin

Great news on the scan results Arabica Grin You must feel more at ease now.

Pinky, Tell your mum you tried the dress on but when you did your dd wanted picking up and as you bent down it split beyond repair because your bump is so huge, so you've had to throw it out Wink

Katylou, Angry for you. Its so frustrating isn't it. Lovely to hear about your ds. I cried when my dd took her first steps. Its great.

Luckily we've had some good news today. The transfer documents have been sent out so hopefully we should have a date by next week (fingers crossed). I feel so much better when we have those keys in our hand.

Yesterday, I went out and bought all the things for my hospital bag. Got some of the sexy disposable paper pants, pads, nappies etc. So I an pack my bag now and not worry about where in the world I am.

DD is being a bit of a nightmare atm. We went out for a meal last night and she was unbelieveably bad. Also wet herself 3 times. So dh and I are on a mission to nip it in the bud now! Although he has some ideas which I'm not keen on and I'm not sure if its just me still thinking of her as a baby or dh being totally ruthless, so I'm starting a thread on that one Grin

BigHotMama · 01/06/2006 13:22

Afternoon ladies, hope your all doing ok and looking swell!

Glad to hear things seem more positive for you Arabica, you must be relieved to know now! Still cant believe they kept you waiting that long tho!

Hope your feeling better Eeny! I got myself pack of Bambino Mio's nappies too, I'm going to trial them after the first month and maybe use both these and disposables.

KatieLou congrats on your DS walking, it must feel like a real proud moment! I just hope my LO does it first time for me as I'd hate to miss out.

Am just tucking into a large bowl of english strawberries and they are swimming in double cream. Mmmm Wink

Just been and measured in the loo I am now 11 sheets I cant believe I've grown a single sheet in about 4/5 weeks? Thats amazing? Shock

Just been to Babies R Us and got a baby monitor, also been looking at the Gliding chairs n stool, they do a cheaper version for £199.99 but got to order it from a Superstore which is bit out of the way. Am hoping they will deliver to door.

My bump is starting to feel really heavy and am getting lots of hard kicks to the bladder which aint pleasant. I cant stop dreaming about the birth, dreamt I was having contractions during my sleep and they didnt even hurt! Wish it was true lol! Grin

Arabica · 01/06/2006 15:03

Hi everyone, am feeling v good now I have finally heard my scan result. I have another appt on Monday to discuss what happens next (probably more effing scans). I'm enjoying reading about all the things you've bought, but am still not at the stage where I want to go shopping for baby stuffI can see our baby coming home wearing a Tesco bag cos we never got around to buying anything! Our flat is still in chaos from building works anyway, so it's just as wellthere's no space for our belongings as it is.

YellowFeathers · 01/06/2006 15:24

Thats great Arabica!

Baby stuff really doesn't matter all that much does it.
At the end of the day so long as baby has somewhere to sleep when they come home and some clothes to wear, thats all they need.

I keep having momentary lapses of panic and then I bring myself back to earth and think so what if we don't have the beautifuly decorated nursery and all the bag of mashings. Its not all that important and tbh I probably won't end up putting him down for the first week Grin
