Morning coupon. I am less grumpy today (not hard!) but wish this baby would come soon. Also am eating like a horse! This has not happened to me really during pregnancy until now...am trying not to read too much into it. But I also had that weird smell a couple of you ladies mentioned a little earlier in the thread this morning (please be a good sign, please, please, please!!)

Good luck with the swimming!

Gonnabmummy · 11/08/2013 11:22

I'm still here baking don't really know what smell is but not a niggle or twinge since :/

Gerty1002 · 11/08/2013 13:31

Only 37+2 here and getting lots of niggles - back pain, cramps and what I can only assume is baby grinding down into my pelvis. Taking it as it comes at the moment and just trying to relax, but can imagine being VERY grumpy if I still manage to go two weeks overdue!

MrsLianeB · 11/08/2013 16:29

Baking I'm not as grumpy today either managed to clean the house a bit and go out for a drive and do a bit of shopping without too many pains. Been playing my labour playlist to get me in the mood and it seems to really chill baby out too. Smile

Dh holiday finishes after next week so hoping baby comes so his paternity leave can start straight away as its been so lovely having him home with me getting all the jobs done to the house that needed doing just ready to bring baby and visitors home now!

Gerty1002 · 11/08/2013 23:24

TMI but DP and I DTD about two hours ago and I've been having waves of cramps/backache ever since... trying not to get excited!

Paracetamol hasn't done much, going to try to sleep through it but if they get any stronger I may have to start timing! No plug or waters loss as yet. Will surely amount to nothing but pretty uncomfortable for the time being!

ExtremeCouponQueen · 12/08/2013 13:49

gerty sounds promising!

Gerty1002 · 12/08/2013 16:28

Afraid not, went on until 4:30am, six mins apart. Managed to fall asleep for two hours, woke up and nothing! Very frustrating!

FoofFighter · 12/08/2013 17:02

EDD tomorrow, not a twinge!

Very late update here but have been on another planet these last few days.
DS born 4.41 am Thursday, me having gone into Labour about 10 pm on Tuesday night and arrived at the hospital at 4 am on Wednesday morning due to a bit of bleeding. Pushing stage was about 3 h long and ended up in me having no energy left to push and taken down for forceps delivery - however after an episiotomy we got him out in one push, no forceps required. Nasty hemorrhage afterwards which was fairly panicky but sorted quickly while DH looked after DS.
Home since Friday night and DS is amazing (no name yet) though very challenging with his feeding demands especially at night. However I'm struggling physically down below and able to do very little other than feed. Pain is currently getting worse not better. Luckily my DH is amazing and doing all he can to help including all the changes and settling after feeds. Dreading him going back to work but will just have to assume I'm better by then.
Congrats to all other arrivals xxx

IJustWoreMyTrenchcoat · 12/08/2013 19:53

Huge congrats Christelle. I can really empathise, my pain is getting worse, I have no idea what is going on down there. Still swollen and stitches tight fr

IJustWoreMyTrenchcoat · 12/08/2013 19:55

Argh sorry... From episiotomy and urethra tear.

Feeding has been such a struggle I am a hormonal mess. I desperately need to see the feeding midwife for some advice. I think there is some milk there, but struggling to get a decent latch.

Woodifer · 12/08/2013 20:33

Stick with it trench! You can always phone la leche league or similar - as they may have peer support volunteers local to you if its a long wait for the feeding midwife.

MrsPennyapple · 12/08/2013 21:11

Will be thinking of you and sending speedy labour vibes to you tomorrow foof.

IJust Sorry you're in pain, that does sound pretty horrid :( Hormones really make everything worse don't they? Have you tried different feeding positions? Both DD and now DS struggle to latch on to my left boob, but I find using the rugby ball position on that side seems to make it easier. And squishing my boob into a more oval shape just behind the nipple helps too. It's hard to describe but if you imagine baby's mouth to make an upright oval like a 0 then squishing my boob to make a sideways oval, it just seems to make it easier for them to latch. Just my experience but might be worth a go.

Ditsy79 · 12/08/2013 21:59

ijust I have also been finding feeding quite difficult, but have found the rugby ball hold the easiest. Am also a hormonal wreck, keep crying about stupid things.
Congratulations to all of you who have had your babies, sending good-luck vibes to those of you still waiting.

Bakingabubba · 13/08/2013 08:19

Happy due date foof! It is also my EDD today though I am not holding my breath...going to ikea today and I always really need the loo whenever we go there (even when not pregnant!) So maybe it will have a similar baby inducing effect on me...?

Christelle2207 · 13/08/2013 13:54

trenchcoat you sound like me yesterday-i had tears and severe blues. Like you im in a lot of pain and had difficulties feeding-I called mw yesterday and got them to send someone out to the house to help with latching and reassure. Can you do the same?

Snufflebabe · 13/08/2013 17:41

I have spent today not feeling right - I decided to go into town earlier and had to come home as I felt unwell. I feel a bit queasy and I have an aches lower back.

I have been busy making lasagne, wrapping DD birthday presents and hoovering so I'm not sure if I've just overdone it, or whether it's the start of something.

Due date is Thursday when I am getting a sweep.

FoofFighter · 13/08/2013 17:56

MW today.. BP is raised again, sending me to the maternity ward for a check up, been warned they might induce me so taking my bag just in case! trying to not get my hopes up, will probably be fine again and sent home with my tail between my legs :( will update if I can!

Watched OBEM today and started getting emotional(!) ready for baby to arrive over the next few days now!

Nightwish · 13/08/2013 18:33

My DS was born yesterday morning at 6.30am.
8lbs 5.5oz, born naturally with gas and air just during pushing.
Will probably update more later but a bit tired atm after being up over 60 hours!
Oh and he has not got a name yet. Useless we are.

Nightwish · 13/08/2013 18:34

He was 5 days overdue. I should probably add.

IJustWoreMyTrenchcoat · 13/08/2013 19:54

Hi thanks for the advice. The midwife has been today and helped with positioning. She has reassured me to keep using nipple shields if they are helping as I spent yesterday without and it was agony.

I know shields are controversial but I feel at the moment they are helping me to keep going. The midwife has arranged for a peer supporter to call. There seems a lot of support available luckily, I met the feeding midwife and some peer supporters at a class prior to the birth and there are classes.

I keep checking for updates and am loving hearing all the good news.

PurpleDana · 13/08/2013 21:26

Ooh lots of activity! Good luck foo!
fries I'm the same the last 2 days, crying like a baby at them!

Locketjuice · 13/08/2013 21:39

Haven't been on in ages so just an update to say I had my baby girl at 40+1, labour was 3 hours from waking up in so much pain to holding her, just made it to the hospital where I had to push straight away and managed without pain relief (didn't have the time if I had wanted it!) and she is a healthy 7.11lb with a full head of ginger hair! SmileSmile

Poppy May, 13.08.13 7.11lb and pure gorgeous :):)

BrieMonster · 13/08/2013 22:11

Aw lovely, congrats locketjuice.... Mine's a month old and still smaller than poppy!! Fab name.

Congrats to everyone else too, and bringing-on-labour vibes to those of you who can't bear it any longer.
