Thanks meandmyboy, just was sitting on the sofa and was sure I felt the baby move.

Debbsy · 28/05/2006 08:57

Mowe so sorry you feel like this i would go to your dr and they will sen you for another scan.I have had a very painful back and my sickness had stopped(back now) so to reassure me my dr sent me for another scan on friday and bibby was fine bouncing around on my bladder thats whats giving me the bad back.Ring on tuesday for an appointment because worrying is no good for you xxx (((((hugs)))) good luck.

spinach · 28/05/2006 20:46

hi mower, I had extra scans because I had a bleed at 14 weeks that lasted just over a week... baby is fine but i have a low lying placenta so i have to be careful. Hopeing it will just move up as uterus grows. Like you, just wish i could relax.. this pregnancy has been one worry after another. Hope you're okay.. a friend of mine told me to eat a choc bar and lay in a quiet room, concentrate on feeling the baby... it worked for her!

Glad everything worked out fine in the end spinach. My friend had low lying placenta, but it corrected itself in the end. Yes i'm trying not to worry felt movement this morning and feeling like my bump is growing so that must be good. I suppose it is still early days to be feeling movement.

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 30/05/2006 07:53

Am I the only one who is only allowed 1 scan?

fatbetty · 30/05/2006 08:51

Hope you all had a good bank holiday weekend! How often should I be feeling movement? I have felt a few flutters, but not everyday.

LadyAnne, I think it's just down to your area about how many scans you can get. You would think they would give the same to everyone!

Spinach, I'm glad to hear that you are doing better. I had a low lying placenta with ds2 and it did move up on it's own - I think it's quite common.

NatalieJane · 30/05/2006 09:38

Morning all :o

Hope everyone had a good weekend?

My scan is tomorrow, am expecting everything to be fine but am still a bit nervous!! More worried that we have to take our DS with us, so if something isn't right DH is going to have to take him out of the room and miss what's going on himself, but we can't do anything else!

Hope everyone is doing OK :)

mygirllolipop · 30/05/2006 09:52

MUN – Sorry it’s late but hope all is well.
Spinach – I have now decided that the only clothes I can wear now are mat ones so guess I’m big, last I knew was still 3lb lighter than pre-pg but haven’t weighted recently!
NJ – we ended up having to take DD3 with us to the 12wk scan, she was fine. Hoping to get a sitter for 20wk but we’ll see.
Anyway I had a lovely wkend although have sore throat from the pub we went to and it didn’t seem smoky and I wasn’t shouting. Clothes didn’t even smell of smoke the next morning which they usually do when you’ve been to a pub! Had my MW apt the on Fri before we left, she just done BP and urine, I asked for a home birth she said no bother and said they wouldn’t listen for HB until after 20wk scan which is fine by me. As for movements v erratic, mostly everyday, flutterings now I’m starting to get the stronger kicks which is exciting

MeAndMyBoy · 30/05/2006 10:50

Well after a worried few days i have finally figured out why the hospital have decided ds was under weight - the figures that they have on the personalised chart for me are pg fig's not pre pg and there is a significant difference - I've put on over a stone already and the weight that they have down for DS is 1000gs less than he was - would have put him at about 5.3lbs.

I might keep quiet and get an extra scan and then refuse the rest. Grin

NJ fingers crossed for your scan tomorrow, I'm sure all will be fine. We took DS with us for the 12 week scan and he just sat quietly on DH's lap all the way through, fascinated with the whole thing. Will get a sitter for the 20wk one though don't really want to be in that one on my own.

NatalieJane · 30/05/2006 12:58

Glad you have sorted it out MAMB!! I can imagine it must be a load off your mind, and to get an extra scan/s for nothing would be great!!! I am Envy LOL

mygirllolipop · 30/05/2006 15:12

MAMB - have the extra scan if you want it then tell them there's been a mistake, they could have records mixed up.

NatalieJane · 31/05/2006 08:42

Morning :o

Hope everyone is OK? Lovely sunny morning here :o :o

Well I am off for my scan this morning, I am starting to get very very very nervous now!! Too late to back out now, and I already need a wee, have got another couple of hours to wait before I can go!!!

Wish me luck please!! :) xxx

HopingCat · 31/05/2006 08:45

Hi everyone,
Is everyone feeling baby move now? I've still not felt anything and I'm 17+4 weeks now, which I know is still quite early to feel a first baby. I know everything is fine as I had mw appointment last week, but I'm getting impatient! I've tried lying still and concentrating really hard on my bump. Did most people feel their first babies after 18 weeks?

HopingCat · 31/05/2006 08:48

Hi NJ,
I'm sure the scan will be absolutely fine. Just remember not to drink too much water too early! I drank a lot, and could hardly walk by the time I reached hospital. And then when I had scan the baby was almost squashed at the top of the picture by my enormous bladder!
Are you still wondering if there are two of them in there? Is that why you are so nervous?

fatbetty · 31/05/2006 08:59

NJ, best of luck to you on your scan. I'm sure everything will be great! Let us know how it goes.

HopingCat, I'm sure you'll feel the baby soon. I'm 15 wks and I have felt something but put it down to indigestion. Is this your first?

Just wondering how the rest of you are feeling. I'm absolutely shattered and can't get enough sleep at night. I've been going to bed at 8:30 and sleep through til 7am and still a walking zombie! Don't remember feeling like this before with ds1 and ds2 (then again, I only had one child to chase after).

MeAndMyBoy · 31/05/2006 09:00

Morning

Good Luck NJ - it will be fine :). Make sure you come back and give us an update.

HopingCat - it's different for everyone when they feel the baby and I think the sensations are different too. Mine are tickley feelings, it might be you are getting tiny tiny kicks but because they are very quick and gentle you don't notice. I also get a 'heavy' feeling in my pelvis area - which I guess is the baby rolling round. :) No help I know.

mygirllolipop · 31/05/2006 09:09

It's very hard to describe baby movements this early isn't it. I'm sure I have felt baby summersault (sp?) a few times, loads of flutterings and lately I'm sure a few harder kicks. The fewer babies I'd had the less frequent I felt this stuff but I was around 14wks with all of them.

MommyUpNorth · 31/05/2006 09:40

So glad that the weight thing is sorted MAMB! :)

NJ, good luck at the scan this morning... I'm sure all will be fine, and looking forward to your post later today!! :)

saralou100 · 31/05/2006 10:08

morning everybody!!!!

don't bother storing your bladder up for scans, your uterus is now big enough to not need water, i didn't bother and bubs could be seen perfectly... not that i could manage to hold my bladder for longer than half an hour at the moment!!!

i've been feeling bubs move, but it's very erratic and definitely not every day!! with ds i was about 17-18 wks, strange feeling that takes a long time to acknowledge... you think you've felt them move but then they don't do it again so your not sure!!

i'm pretty much exhausted all the time!!! as soon as i get up i want to go back to bed again... it's hard work growing another human!!!

am starting to see a baby bulge growing when i'm lying on my back... can't wait to look pg not fat!!!!!

DebbsyandBibby · 31/05/2006 12:38

Good luck nj xx
hello all well i thought sickness had stopped but up 2 till 4 this morning.
Saralou i know what you mean about movements its hear then gone which leaves you not sure hmmm.

NatalieJane · 31/05/2006 12:52

Awww thanks everyone Blush :o

Everything was fine, could see it moving about and waving at us!! There is only one, and my dates haven't changed, but even the sonographer (or whatever they are called!!) said she expected me to be at least a month ahead!!

I was very relaxed about the whole thing until the weekend just gone, and I think it just hit me all of a sudden what was at stake and I couldn't help thinking about things that could be wrong etc. must be the PG hormones because I am not normally much of a worrier!

I have been feeling very slight flutterings from about 9 weeks, which at first I even thought no it can't be the baby but the feelings haven't changed just gotten stronger and as I was being scanned today and you could see the baby moving I could feel him/her so I am now completely convinced I had been feeling them extremely early, although I do wonder if I am carrying a lot of water (hence the size of me!!) and perhaps I was feeling the ripples from the water rather than the baby itself? I have had only 2 or 3 proper kicks just over the last week or so, so I think it won't be long before I am getting proper kicks all of the time.

calsworld · 31/05/2006 13:02

NJ, Glad to hear you had such a lovely scan....hope your not disappointed its not twins (?!).

Can't wait till I start to feel bump moving, but being 1st guess I've got a few weeks yet? (Coming up to 14 on Friday)

D&B, I thought my MS had gone too after about a week of feeling OK - but its come back again except its not so much nausea but more sickness this time...thought it was supposed to get better...GRRR! Just hope I don't take after my sister who was ill all the way through both her pg's! (Not to mention that both hers were breech and had bad clicky hips!)

Off to find more coke and preggie pops....

Jen1209 · 31/05/2006 13:24

Hi all, Yet another long catch up for me!

NJ - glad your scan went well. I'm the same as you, I am absolutely huge and even though I have only seen one baby on the scan, there is an office bet that I will go for my 20 week scan and there will be another one in there!!! :o

Spinach - glad you are feeling better and the bleeding has stopped - you must be relieved :)

I too thought my MS had stopped as I haven't been sick since exactly 12 weeks. I am 15 + 4 today and have been throwing up all morning. Started in the gym whilst I was swimming (still trying to do 30 lenghts 4 times a week) which was interesting as I did a mad, wet dash to the toilet! Sorry, tmi Blush

Haven't felt any movement yet but I don't expect to until 18 - 20 weeks

Hope all ok.

NatalieJane · 31/05/2006 13:32

Thanks everyone, :)

Calsworld I am actually over the moon there is only one in there!! Would never have admitted it before but I would have been scared stiff if it had have been twins!!

Esmummy · 31/05/2006 13:35

Glad everything went well at your scan NJ :)
I have just sat and worked out this scan picture and my scan picture with DD, there is only 4 days difference between them but this one is so amazingly clear and seems much much bigger.
Has anyone else noticed a real difference between scan pics ?
I'm 15+1 today, keep getting the odd feeling of something popping inside, like i did with DD but am convincing myself it is still too early. What would you say is normal for feeling movements with number 2
