Salads here tonight lol and rice salad as well.

Been quiet on here today. Well we've had a very entertaining (!) few days. DH bought me a new car (it's great it's purple ), DH's car broke down and is potentially going to cost as much as my new car to fix . Been referred for physio as have SPD. Had 3 new customers start, and failed dismally at a shopping trip on Saturday to find a swimming costume for our holiday next week .

Well that's the whistle stop tour of MMB's house over the last few days. HOpe everyone is coping with this heat it's draining me soooo much just want to hide in the house.

Take care all and speak soon

CattyB · 17/07/2006 17:54

Just been to the supermarket to buy baking potatoes, cottage cheese and coleslaw for tea but there is none to be had in the whole town - I tried both supermarkets - they're only wee granted but even still. Can't face the tought of cooking far too hot - boys love pasta and pesto so might give them that and ask DH to pick up something on the way to the train. Surely Edinburgh can't have ran out of salady type stuff?? Tomorrow I suppose a bbq would be the thing. Prob got enough stuff to make a couscous salad and will be sure to be at the buthers early before they run out of sausages and such.

saralou100 · 17/07/2006 19:34

i'm hot!!!! quite liking it today though as i've not been working!! ds splashed in the pool whilst i had my feet in and caught a few rays of sun

my dinner is chilli (from the freezer) and jacket potato with salad!! i love salad!

CattyB · 17/07/2006 20:22

DH has just informed me he plans to cycle the 35 miles to work tomorrow - slightly concerned about him coming home in 30 degree heat - he's fairly fit but even still.... As such don't think he'll be home in time for a barbie so will either have to be extra organised and cook in the morning or resort to the chipie.

Boys want to go to the beach tomorrow so here's hoping the haar doesn't roll in.

MeAndMyBoy · 18/07/2006 08:45

Morning all - sending everyone cool thoughts for today.

Unfortunately had a late night last night and then didn't sleep that well so a little bit tired today!

Have a good day

Debz99 · 18/07/2006 08:52

Hi everyone, well I had my 24 week madwife appt yesterday (even though I am 25 weeks!) and she has put my mind at rest about the flavour!
She was listening to the heart beat and asked if I know what it was, I told her I would prefer her to tell me what she thought and straight away without hesitation she said girl That is good enough for me - the madwife and the sonographer.
They also said that my bloodpressure was quite high and that I should rest as much as possible with my feet up, easier said than done with a 20 month old ds and a dh that I am about to kill for doing absolutly nothing anyway - I am off to fill up the paddling pool and then later off to buy a potty - am going to attempt to potty train ds as he is telling me when he has been now - wish me luck and any advice gratefully recieved

FoghornLeghorn · 18/07/2006 11:51

well i dont do hot weather, i dont drive so we've spent yesterday and today inside doing nothing which dd thinks is horrible and i just dotn get to cool down ever as dont have a garden so cant even do paddling pool and dont dare have a bath coz dd is terrible if i dont let her get in!

wanted to go swimming but would have to wait for dp to come home and the baby pool closes at 4pm how bloody stupid is that???

iv had constant back ache for about 3 weeks, like period pain back ache, been thinking about gettin a tens machine had one with dd and was brill for birth, just wondering if any of you know why some of them say they shouldnt be used before 36 weeks?? and others only say not to be used in the first 12 weeks?

NatalieJane · 18/07/2006 15:15

Hello everyone

I am loving this weather, am dreading it dissapearing! It is so nice being able to while the days away just wondering round shops, playing with DS in the garden or at the park, or even just having lunch outside, so much nicer than cold and rain! The only way it is troubling me is that I am finding my hands and feet are swelling up even more than usual, but I can handle that

DS got his report from nursery today, he has done so well, proud mummy moment over here - sorry!

Congrats to FHLH and family on the new addition - lovely news

Keep well everyone

oh NJ i wish i could worship the sun, my body just wont have it!

i think im gunna get one this back ache is unbearable and i cant find anything to suggest it will harm the baby so i dont see the problem! id obv only get one that says its suitable for pregnancy!

Debz99 · 18/07/2006 16:15

I'm off to physio tomorrow for my back cannot walk around for more than half an hour without being in absolute agony. It started with a trapped nerve but since work swapped my chair for the "pregnancy chair" the trapped nerve has vitually cleared up however this has taken its place. !!! The doctor sent for me to have physio for the trapped nerve but I have only just got the appointment so they can sort this problem out instead LOL. This heat is too much for me, usually I'm a sun worshiper but cant sit in it at all now I'm PG

amyjade · 18/07/2006 16:19

Hi Everyone
Thought i'd pop in to say Hi. Had my 20 week scan today all is well with baby, we didn't ask the sex as Dp didn't want to know, i thought it looked like a boy but i thought that with Dd2.
Baby looks a good size measuring a week over my dates but both my girls were good weights 8lb 13 and 8lb 8 at 37 weeks so this one is bound to be another big one.
Having two more scans at 28 and 32 weeks just for reassurance and to check babys size.
Have also decided on names, Amelia or Mollie for a girl and Henry for a boy.
Hope you are all coping with the weather !!
Speak soon.

Debz99 · 18/07/2006 16:32

Just wanted to mention that although I have felt baby kick for sometime, only today have I felt him kick/punch me whilst I have been on the move, another strange feeling LOL !

Debz99 · 18/07/2006 16:35

Oh and Amyjade, how rude of me glad all went well with your scan. Got my 3rd scan on Friday, could not do all the measurements last time, it's a chance for another look

staceym11 · 18/07/2006 17:03

oh Amyjade glad your scan went well! congrats on your healthy baby!

HopingCat · 18/07/2006 17:06

Glad you had a good scan amyjade.
Congratulations FHLH and family.
MGL I can also see baby move now. My DH likes it too, especially when the cat is asleep on me and the baby kicks the cat! The strange thing is that DH can sometimes feel kicks that I don't even feel or notice. Maybe we get used to the feeling and don't always register it?

I'm struggling in the heat now, although normally I love to sit out in it. I feel heavier when I'm walking round. I'm glad it is now though rather than end of August or September when we will all be so much bigger. I suppose it could be hot then too, but this is the UK and we don't often get long hot summers do we!

saralou100 · 18/07/2006 18:21

i'm still hot!!!!! and cause i can't sleep i'm tired too, double the misery!! ds removed his nappy at 4am and wee'd in his bed, bless him... had just gone back to sleep when the alarm started making noises at me at 6am, ds still asleep when i left for work little sod!!

fab scan news amyjade

Hi all - how are we all now, having a relaxing evening I hope.
I'm still doing the 9 - 5 (well 8.30 - to 5.30 - with long relaxing lunch break) The girls in the office are blaggin as many fans as they can to cool us all down with the cry of 'there's a pregnant woman in here'... temperature still reached 29 degrees in the office though. Boss is keeping an eye on me and has already hinted that I might be let out early if the heat gets worse - thunderstorms are forecast tomorrow though so we'll see. All I can say is that I'm glad I don't live in London - it must be awful there.
On the food note - just enjoyed a very mild version of a mexican meal cooked by DP - it went down very well indeed (hopefully I won't regret it later). Also - we have been told that we are moving on August 1st - luckily we haven't got far to go and can literally walk down the streets with our bits and pieces. Then we can start building a nursery... Oh and baby was really active today - perhaps it just couldn't get comfortable - just like it's mum!
Anyhow have a good one...
LA

fatbetty · 18/07/2006 21:27

Hello All! I haven't had time to catch up with the lastest, but I hope you all are well. I've had my in-laws visiting the last couple of days and we are trying to get ready for our holiday on Thursday. Only a little stressed! But we had our second scan today and it looks like we are having a girl! I think DS1 and DS2 are a little disappointed as they requested a puppy or a duck. .

BTW, have any of you happened to have thrush while pregnant? It looks like I have it and just wondering what I can take for it. I'm going to try to go to docs tomorrow, but just wondering.

Hattie05 · 18/07/2006 22:18

Not sure about thrush fatbetty, hope the doc will sort that one for you tomorrow!

Amyjade, its such a relief isn't it to get that second scan, glad all went well.

All is fine here, but am i alone in being really irritated by people in general? . Whether they are giving sympathetic looks, or looking shocked when i tell them the baby isn't due until November, or they saying "oh you shouldn't be doing that in your condition" - when i'm lifting a feather or something similar?

I think i just am grumpy because i know really none of these people are being horrible at all, but i can't help feeling like i want to bite their heads off! Because the truth is i feel fine and am enjoying my pregnancy and this heatwave and i despise people who assume otherwise at the mo.

See what is wrong with me?
