Very exciting! A little boy!! Congrats to all who have found out the sex. You are making it more tempting for me to find out next week!!

staceym11 · 14/07/2006 15:29

congrats NJ another boy!!!

the problem with the dress is its coming from china and the person sending it doesnt really understand english (wish id known before) so im now trying to find out which carrier it was sent with and exactly when it was sent. oh its a pain!

well my little man kicks most of the day but dd always did so its nothing new to me.

aww so cute, dd just sat herself on her chair in front of the mirror and started singing pat a cake to her reflection! lol must go and tidy up, dotn really want to but needs must!

NatalieJane · 14/07/2006 15:33

I have got a few minutes now

Yes DS is over the moon, I don't think he would have been bothered either way really but he is just glad to stop all of the brother/sister/he/she/it/baby/bump/anything else we called him before goings on!

I did ask the sonographer if she was sure it was a boy, and I got a snotty 'well it is never 100%, but I am right' reply, but the main thing is George(!!! ) is growing well and strong, and I am at last starting to relax and have stopped looking for any little tiny niggly things that might be wrong, I didn't realise just how uptight and stressed out I felt!

I also made a right pain in the bum of myself and asked to speak to a midwife while I was there, mainly to ask why they had put me in for a diabetes test and secondly to make absolutely sure nothing is wrong with the weight I am loosing, it seems the only reason she can see for the test is because my sister had GD (although they didn't want to test me for it in my last pregnancy) and because of the size of my bump. And she weighed me and said I had actually put weight on, but all of my weight was shifting to my bump area, so although part's of me are slimmer than before, I'm not actually loosing weight, and obviously the baby is fine and healthy and that is the main thing.

The scan was great, it didn't last as long as I'd hoped, but we got some great views of him, as she was showing us one of his feet he kicked the scanner thing which made DS giggle, she said he was being very co-operative even turning around at the exact time she wanted to look at the spine!! LOL

Came home and my wonderfull next door neighbours were waiting outside for us before they had to rush off, they are such a lovely couple and even though they were in a hurry they stayed as long as they could to get all the news

Anyway, had better get on with the packing, why is it when we go somewhere for one night we only take a change of clothes, toothbrushes and a story book for DS, when we go for two nights we have to take the whole house????!

I am back again!!

You know when you go on holiday abroad, and the maids come and make the bed up really tightly, they sort of wrap all the blankets around the mattress? I always find if I don't undo the blankets before I get into bed, I get leg cramps all night, reason is because you can hardly move your feet when you are all wrapped up tight, so I would think doing some simple ankle exercises before you go to sleep would do the trick

saralou100 · 14/07/2006 17:17

hey guys!!

well done njon your little george!! fab news, enjoy your weekend away...

stacey - have you started trying to find a back up plan, just in case?

fatbetty - i don't just have trouble making decisions, it's trouble using my brain in general.. i forget so many things, then i'm not sure or i've lost something.. i know your supposed to lose brain cells, but i'm losing my mind!!

i'm craving tomato's in any shape or form... particularly on pasta or pizza or tesco's tomato and basil soup rules the planet (ate the whole pot today.. at least 2 servings in it)

am starting to discover the joys of working wit the people who could potentially deliver your baby, they are really winding me up now.... won't hold it against some, dr antony is soooooooooooo good looking!! he will be barred from the room though after threatening to refuse all forms of pain relief and doing a c-section leaving a big ugly scar!!! no thanks!!

Mummy2Toby · 15/07/2006 11:34

Can I just ask - all of us that have been told the flavour, how seriously are you taking it? I am soooo excited about my little girl, but people keep telling me not to get my hopes up because they can be wrong

staceym11 · 15/07/2006 21:08

mummy2toby they dont tell you unless theyr sure but they say its 95% if they say girl and 97% if they say boy.

iv checked and the item has been dispatched from shanghai! lol, will keep checking the online tracker and if it aint right when it gets here il create merry hell!

my little boy likes music, went to my cousins dance show last night and hes was jumping round like no ones buisness, it was quite loud tho! lol poor little mite.

right think im gunna give in and look for a double buggy dd still has very little interest in walking and i dont think i can cope with the tantrums out and about. and with dps bonus we can afford one now so am going looking (on the net of course) now!

tamula · 15/07/2006 21:49

Hey guys,

Justa quick one! I am as big as a house and am expecting another wee girl!! Its not 100% as well we know but a girl suits me just fine

dd will have a little sister!!

staceym11 · 15/07/2006 22:21

oh congrats tamula, im huge too dont worry! great news on your little girl!

Hattie05 · 15/07/2006 22:30

Well i havn't been here for such a long time! i really have been living in my world of not believing i'm pregnant . I've decided its time to admit i am after having my scan and finding all is well and its another girl!
My 3yr old dd is over the moon, she has been hoping its a girl all along.
DP is over the moon (teehee) that he'll be living in a house full of women.
I'm just over the moon its a real pregnancy at all!

Glad to see many of you are all doing well.

Does anyone else feel really low down movements?
I don't feel much in my stomach but my lo is punching me in what feels like my cervix most of the time! I now know they are punches since having the scan. I can't believe how low they feel though.

saralou100 · 16/07/2006 10:17

welcome hattie to the real world!! all my movements are really low down in my bikini area, my placenta is attached to my front wall of uterus though and high up, so i'm thinking this is acting as some kind of shock absorber as i feel nothing at the top at all!

stacey, glad your dress is making some progress! fingers crossed it's ok when you finally get it!! i've also resigned myself to a double buggy, ds only does a few steps then crawls or puts his arms up to be carried..

tamula, congrats on your baby girl - what name have you picked?

my mum came for the day yesterday and she couldn't believe how much my tummy has grown since she last saw me 3 weeks ago! although i'm not huge, still wearing normal clothes (the looser ones) lots of debate over wether i have a girl bump or boy bump at the moment... i am going to have to employ dp to do toenail painting soon though, took a lot longer than it should have done as i had to keep coming up for air!!

Hattie05 · 16/07/2006 17:13

Sarahlou - my placenta is right at the top too so i like your theory .

btw i had sneaky suspicion my bump was a boy bump this time as its all out in front rather than the roundness i had with dd, but i too saw hamburger in my scan so pretty convinced now it is a girl.

Thanks for updating me mygirllollipop! and apologies for stealing your phrase but it sounds good

spinach · 16/07/2006 18:50

I saw that my baby was a girl from the scan which is why i asked the sonographer to confirm it, we werent gonna find out, but i saw it. So i would be very shocked if it turns out to be a boy! although still wouldnt care. In terms of bumps i have been all out front with both pregnancies and both are girls so not sure the shape of your bump tells you very much.

Everyone sounds well... hope you are... so many scans getting done now.... so everyone is half wa at least. I have another scan at 28 weeks...will get them to double check the gender!

OP posts:
Mummy2Toby · 16/07/2006 19:36

thanks for the reassurance girlies

My sonographer also showed me why she thought it was a girl, and to be honest, it did look like a girl to me as well, but people are putting doubt in my head! I have already bought the coming home from hospital outfit - it is soooo cute. Can't believe everything will be changing from blue to pink
We have also decided to move ds into the smaller room, I have even chosen his bed linen etc, it is really good because we will only have to by the bedspread, border and stickers for the top, so all in all quite cost effective.

saralou100 · 16/07/2006 22:59

so hot!!!!!!

CattyB · 17/07/2006 08:43

Can't believe its been over a week since I last said hi - where does the time go? I live in Scotland so its been school holidays here since the end of June so just busy with the boys I guess. Also got two new kittens - more boys - starting to hope this bump will be a girl to even things up (slightly)! Congrats and hi to everyone who's new. And hope everyone who's been having illness and hard times are finding it easier.
Totally believe that washing breeds when left alone - miss doing it for one day and suddenly there is a huge mountain at least with it being so lovely out it dries in no time. On losing weight I've not really noticed it this time or last but the first 2 pgs I def didn't put on any weight on right until the end - post birth my legs were the best they've looked since I was about 15! Hope everyone is surviving the heat - got the paddling pool set up to go jump in when things get too bad.
Still not sold the house - starting to get a bit stressed as need to move in just over 6 weeks - ugh - anyone know anyone want to buy an idylic holiday cottage?

Good morning all

We had a wonderfull weekend, the weather has been beautiful, I know some of you will have been hating it, but I am loving the sun at the moment, I find if it is nice and sunny I feel so much better (if a bit hotter!!), but for those of you looking for a break, Thursday is going to be rain rain and more rain according to the weather site I look at, so it won't be for much longer.

DS felt the baby kick on Saturday, we were watching a (fantastic) fireworks display, and he was stood in front of me with his head resting on my belly, and the baby gave one almighty kick and DS felt it on his head! And then last night me and DH were in bed and the baby started moving so I put DH's hand there and he gave 4 big kicks I have been able to feel the kicks on the outside for a while, but everytime I grabbed DH's or DS's hand the baby would move away, so it is strange they both felt it one night after the other!

Anyway enough chat for now, I have some serious shopping to do (once I have worked out exactly what I want to buy that is!!)

Have a good day xxx

staceym11 · 17/07/2006 10:13

morning everyone, had a dull weekend really its been too hot!

baby has reverted to being awake at night which isnt much fun!

not really got a lot to report, other than feeling knackered in this heat and not wanting to do the washing etc, but i think thats normal for me anyway! lol

Debz99 · 17/07/2006 12:26

Afternoon ladies !

Went to see consultant today because of my med history and weight before I was pregnant, all went well, listened to heart beat again, sounds fantastic!!! Got to have a GTT test Mmmmm not looking forward to that !! The consultant wants to see me again at 32 weeks to see if I need to have further scans, but she wants to see if the scan I have on Friday is any clearer than my 21 weeks scan before she makes any decision on that.

Not a question one should ask really but I'm going to any way lol how much weight have others put on I'm 24 +2 and have put on 7 lbs is this good, bad or indifferent?

HopingCat · 17/07/2006 13:56

Debz you have put on less weight than I have. I'm 24 wk and have put on over a stone! I was a size 8/10 to start with so I look massive now. I'm hoping it is baby weight rather than the amount I am eating. I tend to eat when I'm hungry, but that is most of the time! I read that you put most weight on between 24 and 32 weeks, so I will be enormous by the end of the summer I think.

Debz99 · 17/07/2006 13:58

I'm a big lady anyway hopingcat size 22/24 so my bump is just starting to show now but only to me and DP lol (When i'm naked) does not notice when I have clothes on but I have adapted the waddle already, think that's partly due to a bit of a dodgey back !

CattyB · 17/07/2006 16:30

Farmed out the kids to the childminder today as I was feeling really crochety (sp?). Had a bit of a snooze but woke up far far too hot. I'm so glad I don't live anywhere there's a hosepipe pan as I've just spent the last hour sitting in a freezing cold paddling pool reading my book, drinking grapefruit juice and fizzy water and eating oatcakes and blue cheese (naughty I know) - bliss .

I've just weighed myself this moment I've put on 8 yes 8kg - which must work out at a bit over a stone - jeez. Mind you my bump is huge - sympathetic folks keep telling me that I can't have much longer to go - they do look quite concerned when I say only til Halloween or so....

Debz99 · 17/07/2006 16:48

Oat cakes and blue cheese sounds good !!!! I'm finding it really difficult to find something I want for tea every night during this hot weather salads are gettign really tedious and hot food for me is just a no no at the moment, what's everyone else got?
