lmao ay ??

harrogatemum · 22/06/2006 10:27

ooh happy birthday NJ!

Had a midwife appt yesterday and heard the heartbeat - reassured me as I have not really started to show yet and am now 18 weeks. I dont know why i am expecting to as am tall and didnt show until 20 weeks with twins last time! Still in normal work clothes as my suits all slightly large but now in baggy drawstring trousers at home as jeans have stopped fitting!

I have a scan on 4th July - I am quite excited about it now! Congrats to all those who have already had theirs adn found out the flavour of their babes!

NatalieJane · 22/06/2006 10:33

LMAO = laugh my @rse off

It is amazing how even just hearing the heartbeat puts everything right isn't it Harrogatemum?

Tinasan · 22/06/2006 10:39

Congrats MyGirlLollipop and Happy Birthday NJ!!! I got some 4d pics from my scan too, they really do look like babies don't they? My baby was hanging on to the umbilical cord at one point, scratching behind her ear...

DebbsyandBibby - I'm about 5'4, so quite small - does this make my weight gain even more scary

DebbsyandBibby · 22/06/2006 10:49

no no not at all lol

HopingCat · 22/06/2006 11:28

Happy Birthday NJ! Do I remember from the stats we posted back on the ttc thread that you are 23 today?

Tinasan - I have put on a stone now, and I am almost 21 weeks. I thought weight gain would be gradual but I seem to have spurts and then slow down again. I would have thought that the more water you are carrying would affect your weight, which isn't something you can do much about is it, so don't worry too much. I was told to only worry if I was putting on excess weight away from my belly, eg top of arms.

Delia · 22/06/2006 11:47

Hi all, hope everyone is well, Happy Birthday NJ hope the surprise is a good one! and congrats mygirl.

Podglet sorry to hear your having trouble hope the floor works for you!

Well got my scan tomorrow and am really exited, DH is trying to get me to ask the flavour but i want a supprise ... lets see if i have any will power when it comes to it

NatalieJane · 22/06/2006 12:00

LOL HC, you have a better memory than me, that is the first time I have actually thought what my new age is, and even I had to think about it!! LOL

Thanks for all the good wishes everyone Delia, my surprise so far was strawberries and a tincy tiny weeny bit of champagne for breakfast in bed, after DS woke me up by shouting 'Happy birthday' at me whilst shoving presents under my nose!! DH has said that isn't it for the day, but he is at work till this evening, so I have all day to worry what's coming next!! LOL

I am feeling really left behind in the scan department now, it seems I will be the last one...! It is a good job that time seems to be flying by

MeAndMyBoy · 22/06/2006 12:05

Happy birthday NJ

good luck with your scan delia, looking forward to hearing your news .

Mygirl - sounds like a lovely experience with the 4D scan. We didn't have one but we could still see LO swallowing and things which is quite surreal.

Well DS has just put me to shame and put a load of washing on for me!!!! I told him it had to be all red things so he emptied the washing basket picked out the red stuff and filled the washing machine lol.

Tinasan I feel a bit like your double - I'm 5'4 and was 8 st 5 before I got pg and have put on a stone already as well

DebbsyandBibby · 22/06/2006 12:33

im 5foot 6 and ive only got a little bump comes out from under my ribs, belly button not popped out yet though! 18 weeks tomorrow, dont know what a weight dont own a pair of scales lol.
Must be growing ok though as measured myself with tape measure and bang on 18cms for 18 weeks.
Good Luck Delia with scan tomorrow.
nj my scans not till 11th cant wait though.Everyone just looking up on my computer about 4d scans theres a place in Shrewsbury (not to far) that does a 30 min 4d scan with a dvd with 5 pics, and you can have music of your choice to go onto the dvd, worth thinking about me thinks only 125 squid too.
Heres me working from home doing another drug tender you wouldnt think i was a rep that works on the road havent been on the road all week, probably why im not as tired!!

Tinasan · 22/06/2006 14:04

Thanks chaps - MeAndMyBoy I bet you I'm older than you though!! HopingCat, my weight seems to go on in fits and starts too, I've been 9 1/2 st for a while now so no doubt another hefty increase is about to hit me I'm not going to worry though as it is all on my tummy which is really high and 'outfront', my arms and legs etc are all exactly the same as they used to be.

Bethbe · 22/06/2006 15:16

Happy birthday NJ

Delia, good luck with your scan, I can't wait until mine next Wed, although I'll only be 19+3.

Weight: I'm a big hips big bust shorty at 5ft 3, but I was also overweight when I fell pg. Despite this, I've been on a permenant diet since I was born (or a long time anyhow) but weight is just something I can't keep down - and now that I am making a deliberate effort to eat all the healthy but previously no-no foods such as nuts, milk (skimmed), cheese etc. and avoiding low fat, but chemically foods I used to consume. I am absolutely ballooning. and I know it isn't baby! Is anyone else in this position?

help me help me help me!!!!

not urgent but..... We have our scan in 2 weeks and we could find our the sex.... but i dont really want to... so if i can come up with a boys name, theres no need to find out what we're having. What are you all considering for a boy? My latest thought is Reuben... what do you think? I want something that isnt very common, but something thats not to weird.

Come on spill the beans, tell me what names you're considering... boys and girls, cos I'm nosey!

OP posts:
Bethbe · 22/06/2006 21:40

Ross?

Bethbe · 22/06/2006 21:43

Quite like Reuben though, - hadn't thought of it myself!

MeAndMyBoy · 22/06/2006 22:17

K we are struggling with boys names too, but did with DS as well. Our talked about list so far is

Richard
Edward
Oscar
Oliver
Theo
George
Charlie
Leo
Elliot
Friends little boys names:
Torin
Benedict
Samuel
Joseph

Maybe some help?

otherwise I just ended up going through one of the baby naming websites and reading down the list of boys names and making a note of 4 or 5 boys ones I liked and then we chose one of the list. I did check to make sure it wasn't too popular though

saralou100 · 23/06/2006 08:03

morning!!! how are we all?

bethbe - i'm having a similar weight problem.. i'm a little taller at 5'5" but my weight is just spreading around me, i'm not really eating much though as i don't really feel like it..poeple keep touching my belly and saying it's still soft then... next person to do it will receive a karate chop... i know it's soft, stop pointing out i'm fat!!! why do they do it.. i would never touch another persons stomach, it's rude!! i'm still not in mat clothes yet though just baggier ones.. 18wks now!

spinach - so far our only possible boys name is daniel, but i'm not really sure.. like you i want something different but not weird... cousin has a son called horracio maximus, or something strange like that, what did the poor little sod do?

nj - happy birthday for yesterday.. hope your dh gave you a lovely suprise!!!!

mygirl - congrats with the baby girl!!! how does your dp feel about this, surrounded by women and severely outnumbered!! hope he likes pink!!

goodluck with your scan today delia, are you finding out flavour? will await your post later!!

xx

Spinach - I like Reuben. I also like a lot of traditional names like Joshua, Matthew, Thomas, Daniel, Samuel, but I go to church and a lot of people there have used these biblical names already and I wanted to be a bit different. We are now considering Jonah, which we like but it perhaps a bit strange.

This site is good for both popular and the more unusual names babynames
I've also been looking at the Due in May and Due in June threads for ideas, as they are all having their babies now.

NJ - Did you enjoy your birthday?

Bethbe · 23/06/2006 09:17

Morning everyone!

I wonder how Delia's scan is going - can't wait for mine!

NJ: Hope you had a lovely birthday evening!

Saralou: ON the one hand it's good to know I'm not the only one, but on the other I'm sorry that you have to put up with it too. I too am just in 'bigger' clothes rather than maternity. It has been helpful though, to hide it from work (they still don't know), until my coming up pay review!

NatalieJane · 23/06/2006 09:24

Morning all

I had a wonderfull day thank you everyone

Names we have thought of:

Charlie
William
Axton
Corben
Joey
Jared

Friedns/family names

Kyle
Alessio
Zachary
Andrew

Girls we have thought of

Grace
Mae
Erin
Emily
Maia (have chosen this one)
Lily

There are loads more, there are so many pretty girls names, boys names are bit harder I think.
