Fatbettey - I am now feeling movement every day as of the past 3 days but I am 18 weeks+ 4 (also mother of 2 like you)

NatalieJane · 06/06/2006 09:29

Morning all!! Have only been away a couple of days and already there is loads to catch up on!!

Am going to bold peoples names from now on, it's a lot easier to read that way!!

Esmummy, is your DD feeling better, and did you manage to avoid the bug?

Jen I hope things are looking brighter at work, I expect the stress isn't doing you any good at all. Try to take time every day to relax, I know you will be feeling boiling mad at them but don't let them ruin your pregnancy. Also, I find if I haven't done very much all day I get leg cramps, but if I do lots of walking my feet swell up, I don't now which is worse!!

Kif I am glad the bleeding seems to be nothing :)

HC Scan today? Be sure to let us know how you get on!! I have to wait till July for mine!

LadyAnne I hope you have gotten over your accident, I can imagine it must have been very scary for you.

FB I have my hair highlighted, have done through out both pregnancies with no side effects, good or bad! It is obviously your choice though!!

CattyB Good luck with the house, hopefully you will be settled in the new house before baby arrives :o

velcrobott · 06/06/2006 09:30

Spinach that sounds normal... some women have BH very early on. If you are worried ask a MW though.

NatalieJane · 06/06/2006 09:32

Stacey I had wondered where you had got to!! Glad to see you back, and that everything is OK :)

DebbsyandBibby · 06/06/2006 09:48

Morning all hope evveryone is well, well iove just spent nearly 1hour and a half trying to find something to wear so can have my trousers undone for comfort, for work hee hee starting to look really pg now bump coming out now from under my ribs getting more and more curious to what sex it is with all these little flutters, think im going to find out but just keep at as mine and dh little secret.
ttfn off to work back later xxx
Oh on the hair dye thing i go to my hairdressers as usual to have my hair coloured but she uses a different colour from before and assures me no harm to bibby, and shes 33 weeks pg too.

HopingCat · 06/06/2006 09:51

NJ - my scan is a week today, I didn't write it very well in my post yesterday though.

Spinach - I've had some odd twinges like a stitch as well. Someone suggested to me it could be BH, but as this is first pg then I've no idea.

On the subject of hair dying have a look at \link{http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/isitsafeto/colourorpermhairexpert/\this}
If my link doesn't work, go to www.babycentre.co.uk and search for hair!

mygirllolipop · 06/06/2006 09:53

Mat clothes are a prob aren't they, I have been wearing mine since last Mon (17wks) as was sick of wearing the same old 'big' clothes. But yes it is always a prob keeping them up with a small bump, then when u r bigger they are too tight!
I am sure it is LO I can feel move but even at this stage after it's happened you are like 'was that really the baby moving?' I'm sure as well that I can tell the difference between kicks and summersauls now (I'd like to think!). I vaguely remember at all my other 20wk scans them asking if I could feel the baby move, and saying yes but thinking in the back of my head that it could just be really weird wind!
As for BH, I never realised I was experiencing them with my last 3 pgs until I was in labour with DD3 and the first contractions felt like what I'd been experiencing throughout pg. For me it felt like the baby was pushing it's bum out, didn't feel lke tightening or stitch so maybe I'm weird! I can't remember when they started as never took much notice of them before.

NatalieJane · 06/06/2006 10:01

Sorry HC, was me reading it wrong I think!! Oh well, same applies for next week!!! :)

fatbetty · 06/06/2006 10:03

I've been having twitching feelings too that last for 30 seconds or so but I think it's just things stretching out and making room for baby. I asked my GP about it and he said the same thing and didn't seem concerned about it. Still not a real pleasant feeling at times.

CattyB · 06/06/2006 13:22

Hi all,

Wish I was having probs with maty clothes - mine have fitted for ages - but then I grow 10 lb'ers so am already quite big! Well past the is she pg or just fat stage Wink Been wearing stuff since about 12/14 weeks - like the type with the stretchy panel around the tummy best. Gave away loads of stuff and not so much going around this time so just went and spent £80 in Asda getting summery stuff - hope I'm going to get the use out of it!!

Not had any BH yet but am aware of tightening of my uterus when I'm having sex (sorry if too much info). Take care x

harrogatemum · 06/06/2006 14:36

Hellooooooo everyone - just got back from holiday yesterday, had a fab time. Malaysia is a long way with 18 month old DTs but we had a ball - my husband got to see his sis and her family and we all relaxed and did nothing for a fortnight! I am now nearly 16 weeks and still really queasy in the mornings - anyone else still like this (think I am one of the latest in Nov so probably not).

I cant possibly read all the posts for a fortnight so hope everyone is having a good pregnancy so far!!

Jen1209 · 06/06/2006 16:28

Hi all, I too have been in mat clothes since about 13 weeks (about 3 weeks ago) work trousers are a problem though as a lot of mat stuff isn't smart enough. Have bought a couple of size 16's but they won't last long! Think I am growing a big 'un as well! Also, am def past the "is she or isn't she stage"!

NJ - much less worried about work thank you. Have realised it's not worth getting worked up over. Have decided to work-to-rule and stop being the person everybody runs to for help... Had a v long chat with my boss and they are already considering making a part time job for me for when I come back!

Right, off home now (snuck on from my desk) hope everyone is ok

Jen1209 · 06/06/2006 16:28

Sorry - harrogatemum, glad you had a fab time! :o

Bethbe · 06/06/2006 18:05

Hello,

I'm new to this site, - but I'm so happy to have found you all. I thought I was going quitely insane, but actually one, if not more of you have had experiences that I have had despite feeling isolated through being totally neglected, ignored and treated appaulingly by the NHS. That's not to say I'm happy you're having niggles, but just that I'm normal after all!

a VERY Big Hello! Grin

DebbsyandBibby · 06/06/2006 19:32

Welcome Bethbe Grin
Harrogate mum i still have the sickness to i too am 16 weeks are we due on the same day mines 27th nov

MeAndMyBoy · 06/06/2006 20:48

Evening all sorry to vanish, just had a very hectic few evenings.

Harrogatemum it's great to have you back - glad you had a good time. Fingers crossed your sickness lets up soon.

Bethbe - Welcome, come right on in :). Congratulations! When are you due? is it your first? sorry just curious Blush

I've been in mat clothes for WEEKS!! I'm 18+6 so guess I should expect that really - but they are so much more comfortable than trying to cope with ordinary clothes that don't fit.

calsworld · 06/06/2006 20:59

Hi all, I've been distracted with a week of DIY and dust...all beginning to settle now...along with the MS! YAY! I'll be 15 weeks on Friday so I guess timing is about right...not completely right yet but def getting better.

I've been getting funny pains in my tummy too but assume this is all stretching and stuff...can't wait to catch up with you guys that are feeling LO kicking...all in stages though...don't want to wish it all away!

Anyway, glad you're all OK and catch up again soon!

mygirllolipop · 07/06/2006 09:41

welcome bethbe and glad u had a nice time hm

Esmummy · 07/06/2006 09:51

Hi all,

DD is better now, not completely back to normal but it's getting better slowly. DP and I have managed to stave it off so far, will be typical we will get it though getting married in 3 weeks.
Heard babies heartbeat yesterday at midwife, she found it straight away. Much slower than DD's so DP is adamant its a boy this time. DD was saying "Mummy Charlie's talking to me" :) She was amazed by it bless her.

Glad everyone seems to be keeping OK, am getting on OK with maternity tops although they seem to make me look huge. Have just gone up a size in my trousers at the mo but need a belt to keep them up Blush

saralou100 · 07/06/2006 11:07

morning all!!!

how is everyone doing today? i'm still walking around in pain, back is really hurting me and it's running down my legs to my knees.. went to tesco's yesterday and had to phone dp to come rescue me, the old grannies were getting on my nerves, they come charging towards you with their trolley and expect you to get out of their way Angry!! i was nearly in tears because of the pain, couldn't manage to load and unload the car!! don't know what to do about work, i'm really struggling their too... i do a long shift on a sunday, last sunday i was in so much pain and thankfully it was quiet so i left early, only this has started another round of bitching from one person (the same person as last time) i jut feel so fed up about it all, idon't want to feel like this.... roll on when i can start mat leave and spend my days with my lovely babies!!!

sorry lots to get off my chest :(

Jen1209 · 07/06/2006 15:09

Hi Saralou - come and join my "moaning about work" corner! Yours sound horrid, at least my colleagues are sympathetic (as far as I am aware :) )

Welcome to Bethbe & congrats :o

Glad your DD is better Esmummy and fingers crossed that you don't catch it too...

No news here - got my 16 week check up tomorrow but with my GP not the midwife as she is on hols, hope he listens for the heartbeat as I would love to hear it (keep getting v worried as can't feel anything and keep thinking this is all made up, or something is wrong, even though I only had a scan 4 weeks ago!)

HopingCat · 07/06/2006 16:05

Jen - I know what you mean about wondering if all is ok. I went for a 16 week check just so that I could hear heartbeat. Even with a noticable bump I don't always feel pregnant and I then get worried that something could be wrong without me realising it. Think I'll feel better once I can really feel clear baby movements.

Bethbe - welcome to the group. Are you due end of November or beginning?

saralou100 · 07/06/2006 16:42

i think i was just feeling sorry for myself earlier, had a good cry over something stupid on tv and now feeling much better!! just gotback from seeing madwife, she's referred me to physio so hopefullly it will help and i got to hear the heartbeat!!!!! beutiful sound!!! bubs was wriggling round lots so she was having to chase it all over!!!

I haven't got time to catch up properly but wondered if any of you have heard of the old wives tale of if the heart beat sounds like a train on tracks it is a boy and if the heart beat sounds like a horse galloping it is a girl.

I am going to try and work out what it sounds like and see if that is true :o
