had doctors appointment this morning and he's a bit concerned about the Braxton Hicks so he's suggested i have a hospital appointment with the consultant next week, eeek! he's paniced me now, only mentioned it in passing when he asked how i was feeling and was i having any problems and he got all worried and concerned.

on top of that dp is in bed with a toothache for the last few days while i'm running around after dd with a rotten cold and all the pergnacy stuff too. trying to muster up sympathy for him but not really succeeding amidst dd's teething tantrums and feeling crap myself. why is it whenever i'm sick he's always worse?!

PinkTulips · 26/04/2006 13:00

posted before i read through Purple, sorry your in such agony, do you really have to drive to glasgow after physio? seems a shame to undo all the good they'll do for you so quickly

Nbg · 26/04/2006 14:02

Hi all.

BHM, You'll know when you get a Braxton hicks. Your bump will go really hard and it might make you feel a bit breathless. It's basically a mild contraction so when you do eventually go in to labour you'll start off with contractions like these.

PT, I wonder if you could maybe get a referal to Barnsley? Your not all that far away are you and I was booked in straight away.
My back has been spot on after the movement exercises the physio gave me. It's worked wonders. I just have to remember not to do too much.
I cut the grass yesterday which killed me slightly but am ok now.

Melsy, Have you had CBT before? I'm really considering it but have heard the waitlists are phenomenal. I suffered with awful anxiety/OCD after dd was born and although I have it under control now, I do wonder if it will rear it's ugly head again in August.

PinkT, Hope everything is ok. I'm sure it will be just a routine thing and nothing to worry about. You'll feel better once you've been to see them.

PinkTulips · 26/04/2006 14:41

thanks nbgSmile i'm sure he's just covering his own ass and being thorough but it just gave me a bit of a shock as i honestly expected him to say something like 'thats perfectly normal in a second preg, just drink more water', not get so worried looking!

sorry for moaning everybody, so many of you are having such a worse time than me i feel silly complaining Blush so nice to have a place i can complain and moan though, don't get much of a chance in the real world.

Arabica · 26/04/2006 14:47

Hi everyone. I don't think I've ever had a BH. Although I do have times when the bump goes hard, but I don't feel anything.
Went to the gym today but because I have yet another back problem (sprained sacro-iliac joint now) can only do the cross-trainer and bike. Really enjoyed it--it was Duran Duran hour! You guys are probably too young to remember them Grin but I was singing along remembering when I had to pretend not to like them cos I wanted to be a cool Indie chick.

kitegirl · 26/04/2006 14:53

er, Arabica - I tried to tattoo 'I love John Taylor' on my arm MYSELF once. My walls were papered with Duran Duran posters and I would kiss every single one of them before I went to bed Blush. I actually saw them live last year [double Blush]

Moan away everyone, I am just feeling horribly fat and ugly at the moment as I am starting to grow out of maternity clothes even... should lay off the cakes I suppose. And the chocolate. Oh and the donuts.

SnowBoo · 26/04/2006 16:26

Well if you take a look at a small block of flats, thats the size of me. Grown out of my pg work trousers Blush but its all bump! Big baby. Scared stiff! Keep thinking about the birth but trying to calm myself down with 'well, he has to come out somehow' chain of thought.

SnowBoo · 26/04/2006 16:26

Oh and who is Duran Duran? Wink

Nbg · 26/04/2006 17:02

If you ask my mum she will tell you that Duran Duran used to be my imaginary friends Grin
We used to have a kitchen table that had 2 benches instead of chairs round it and I always made my mum sit at the opposite side because Duran Duran were sitting with me, lol!
I was probably only 4 at the time Grin

olivo · 26/04/2006 17:25

Hi everyone - sorry to hear some of you are suffering. i was interested to see that some of you are also being 'watched' re: depression, anxiety etc. My doctor also said they'd be keeping a watchful eye - I have suffered from anxiety related things for a while and although I've been heaps better recently (i had some CBT and it really seemed to help), I know i will still be a total panicker when the baby arrives, even though I've managed to keep a lid on it more or less so far.

Also feeling big - have grown out of quite a bit of my maternity stuff alreadyBlush but have only put on aboout 8lbs so not sure how all that works - might be time for a loo-roll measuremnet soon....Grin

my wedding outfit for my cousins wedding for the day is the silk kaftan from vertbaudet and a pair of white linen trousers and im on the look out for something gorgeous to wear on my top half for the evening quite limited as it is as my huge bust means i struggle like mad and i cant get in any oy my wonderful bravissimo tops

jayjaybaby · 27/04/2006 09:11

sorry my spelling is so off not been up this early in a while

Nbg · 27/04/2006 09:21

Well we haven't got a wedding whilst I'm pg but my BIL is getting married in Cananda on xmas eve and when they come back they have booked a big reception so I need to get back in shape so I can buy a lovely dress and shoes and hat and everything else Grin

For got to share my wonderful news that dh has agreed to internet connection when we move Grin

Have got my MW appt this afternoon. I think I'm going to take them some chocolates and flowers as it's most likely going to be the last time I see them. I know I haven't seen them very much but the contact I have had has been wonderful and I think they deserve a bit of praise for what they do.

Am also getting very big now or at least I feel it. I bought some more combat type pants from dot perks a couple of weeks back and a lovely top from Topshop.
It's my birthday in May so I think I'll get myself some more bits to tide me over the next warmer months.

melsy · 27/04/2006 09:35

Morning all , wonder if any of you around today??Sorry for the girls having a worrying time, I think getting to 3rd tri has its problems hey.

Im having a bad bad start to the day , was out late at a show we booked months ago and it was a bit strange. The night was made even worse by a huge accident on the main road to get home so stuck in car , needing loo at gone 11 last night. Then dd decided In know lets get mum up at 5:30 with non stop crying and moaning. So all in all not a good start and such a shame Ive been feeling much better this week and now Im death warmed up and I cant breath to well at all last 2 days, really have to keep taking deep breaths and cant catch it properly, and my heartbeats really pronounced.

So now for talk of clothes to cheer me up. Jayjaybaby is that a recent purchase the silk katfan ????, sounds like my kinda thing.

I have a wedding next week , and wearing size 16 white linen draw string trews which sit halfway over bump, a red, pink and white japanese print wrapover dress and a very very old pink metalic cardigan (sounds yuck but its very understated), which is one of my fave things from my wardrobe. A gorge beaded red necklace and a sort of thick beaded matching bracelet. Oh and these whitey grey mary jane brogue thingys. I have lovely red pointy court things with strap round back of ankle , but Im to wobbly to wear them.

jayjaybaby · 27/04/2006 09:57

poor you melsy hamd m do some lovely stuff but with maternity wear they are obsessed with detailing under the bust and because mine so huge they get cut in half and ruin the line of the out fit just been browsing and i think im just going to have make sure i dont get any dinner medals in the day and wear it the whole day allthough i have got a red beaded vest top i could wear so i might do that oh the joy of being pregnant in july without having to go to a wedding

melsy · 27/04/2006 10:27

Ive been dispointd with H&M maternity this season, it was great 3yrs ago, but its just not great this time.

Is your kaftan the khaki, pink or black one with the beading on a v neck jjbaby?? Im just having a looksie on verbaudet web site.

kitegirl · 27/04/2006 11:06

you gals - those clothes sound gorgeous! your fault, despite dh's moaning I am going to get online and order myself something nice to wear (HE thinks I have a pregnancy wardrobe, whereas I think I have nothing to wear), a kaftan sounds lovely. Or an empire-line dress to wear with sandals.

just looking in Vertbaudet now and I really like the tunic (first item). We haven't got any weddings but I'll just wear it while gardening or something - let's make housework glam! Smile

Arabica · 27/04/2006 11:16

I got a Vertbaudet maternity top on ebay and it was really small--do their clothes come up small or am I just even fatter than I think I am????

jayjaybaby · 27/04/2006 11:22

the pink one it goes with my ethnic skin colour my ggrandma was indian makes me look twice as brown

jayjaybaby · 27/04/2006 11:23

and i bought the largest size and i can just get away with my boobs not spoiling it

Arabica · 27/04/2006 11:28

Those kaftan tops are gorgeousespecially the pink. I'd definitely buy that colour, although am afraid my skintone is just dirty, as we're still without bathroom! I really, really want the print long-sleeve top in blue and greenbut it won't be in stock for 4 weeks! Doesn't seem worth buying for such a short time (eeeeek! that means am having baby soon)

jayjaybaby · 27/04/2006 11:35

have you tried asda they do some cute but not smart

melsy · 27/04/2006 11:48

I FINALLY have my print tunic you talk of Arabica , ordered it flippin 2-3 mths ago !!! Its lovely though, all sequined too.I think their sizes are inconsistent arabica, I bought the white dress tunic thing in size 8 and it swamped me, weras the grey cami same size was way way to tight. GO figure.

Lovely that silk kaftan jjbaby, I cant wear hot pink , as quite pale , Im looking for something like a kaftan dress like that print tunic , but cant find anything I like. Any ideas anyone ? I love dresses over jeans, trews , escpecially with bump think it looks and feel nice.

LOL kitegirl at wearing yours in the garden, you will be gorgeous whilst pulling weeds!!!

ooops we started a clothin frenzy today, much better subject than me moaning.
