PinkTulips · 23/05/2006 20:52

not for ages micku, hope she's ok. last i heard she was going to aussie for her dads funeral so it's possible she stayed over there with family?

feeling so smug listening to you all panic about baby stuff, dd's isn't even packed away properly so we've hardly anything to get this time Grin the only things i need are a new crib mattress, a baby sling and one of those bouncy chairs (dd spent far too much time sleeping in her car seat as she was a bit refluxy and liked being propped up). not going to get horrid double buggy, will wait til baba comes to see if we really need it and oddly enough even though dd slept in a travel cot til she was 10 months we now have 2 cots.... go figure!

olivo · 23/05/2006 21:20

phew - not the only one! have got the most fantastic fisher price swing second had though - it's musical and has bubbles and i wish I could fit in it Grin!!
also got a picture monitor for 20 quid - think they cost about 100 in the shops and it works perfectly!bargain!!

olivo · 23/05/2006 21:25

BHM - i think you're right about us all being 3rd trimester now - I'm near the end of August and I am now 3rd trimester so it can only be a matter of a few days for those at the very end! isnt it 26 weeks?

lunavix · 23/05/2006 21:33

I'm so sorry to everyone feeling anxiety, I think it's just getting to that stage- I'm starting to panic as I feel so little movement compared to ds. It really is barely anything. I don't feel anything for hours at a time!

Also starting to think ahead to the birth... so much I want done differently!

I've just agreed to become a nappy agent for a really good company, decided against starting up another business lol. Also thinking about doing baby yoga classes. I think my response to stress is to keep busy!

My nesting instinct is kicking in too (didn't reall yhave it with ds) and we're now eating all organic food and I'm recycling more... ironic considering my time could be spent trying to make room in the house for the baby, which currently there isn't!

eenywifemum · 23/05/2006 22:30

Melsy my husband works for the NHS - what trust are you under and maybe he can help with letting you know who to contact for some support? He said the PALS service is really good and he can look up their number.

Booby I've been out of work as well (on sick leave) so I think that is why I have been so organised. We are pretty much ready for the baby and I am one of these people where I like everything nice and tidy early on!

I am 26 weeks on Friday - so is that the 3rd trimester? I cant find a definitive rule anywhere.

BHM - the baby show sounds so great!!! Lucky girl!! Also I would have been terrified if that had happened to me after DH and I had had sex I would have been scared too but I've heard its normal... in magazines!

Speaking of which I was sent an issue of Pregnancy, Baby and You today and I dont know why - I havent paid for it!

eenywifemum · 23/05/2006 22:31

lunavix my nesting instinct has come out in constant cleaning! a total improvement I can assue you!

PinkTulips · 23/05/2006 22:38

my dp seems to have turned over a new leaf. i was in agony with my ribs earlier and he insisted i have a lie down while he tackled dd's dinner, cleaning the pasta sauce off dd, walls and floor, tidying up, putting bin out and bathing dd! i'm in shock, he's never done that before even when i've been dying sick Shock

gotta love the nesting instinct lunavix and eeny, lord knows its the only time my house gets properly cleaned!

eenywifemum · 23/05/2006 22:59

congratulations pink tulip!

frodofitz · 24/05/2006 08:51

Morning all, sorry i missed what seemed to be a needed talking day yesterday. Sorry you haven't been feeling too great Melsy eeny's right about the PALS organisation-think it's run by volunteers so really keen on helping-is that right eeny?
Sorry to everyone else who is feeling crap and anxious, i can safely say i'm with you all the movement thing especially when it gets to 30 weeks cos that is when you have to count the movements morning and night and what if i forget how many and for how long etc etc...all these questions!
Glad someone else is as neurotic as me eeny, nursery just got to have border put on and have door planed (carpet too fluffy and jammed the bloody door!
Had a bit of a nightmare yesterday bought border for nursery and friends mum came over to put it on however she forgot her spirit level so did it by eye, well the womans practically blind and put 2 walls on wonky! We left the big wall and turned the wardrobe round but had to scrape off all the paper last night for her to come today with her level. I know the other wall is going to niggle at me to the point i will end up taking it off just really can't be arsed at the mo. It's a good job i bought 5 rolls of border (even though should have only needed 2) Every time i ripped some more off i was more and more gutted! I wouldn't mind but normally i would do stuff like that myself but because i've been feeling low didn't have the confidence to try it, thinking i'd mess it up!
Bless her though i am grateful she is trying for me..(just in case i sounded a totally selfish and ungrateful sod!)
M/W app tomorrow...oh joy! Me and dh don't really like her we have always had last appointment and seems she can't wait to get rid of us. I would change but knowing my luck on the day i would end up with her.

Sorry for the rant, need to ensure i'm on daily so this doesn't build up ...Smile

melsy · 24/05/2006 08:55

ahhhh what a good boy PT !!! Getting him trained in before 2nd one !!!

Why am I having Monday blues on a Wednesday Sad???? Anyone else finding it difficult to do loads of social things ? I drop dd at nursury and Im pooped, problem is its getting rather dull each week. I feel like an il person just coming home and getting in to bed.

Eeny , Im with Chase Farm & Barnet Hospital trust, I have phoned Pals and all they gave me was the number for the Parent class organisers. I think they run a post natal illness grp. I havent yet phoned, may be I will brave it this morning. IM getting nervous at the thought of it. Not sure why.

Booby sorry yuor feeling down too, Is your gp not good to talk too?? was your gp appt for a check up ?

The girls with nursurys done and everything ready , wow are you good , I am impressed!! I still have 3-4 big black sacks to go through from dd and they're currently inside dd's old cot. All my unsold paintings are in the nursury and several boxes of fabric samples and painting equipement. We just dont know what to do with it all , as my studio is only a little bigger than a downstairs toilet and some of my paintings are 150cm long !!theyre the size of a cupboard !! Thankfully no decorating to do ,as this was dd's room and shes now in the other bedroom her pink and cherry palace !!!

We also have buggy system concerns , as have a whole expensive system from dd , jane matrix , but I have a thread on it and it seems its seen as not to safe for the car(alhough its the only one not fully tested so who knows), amazing the change in 3yrs. So we think weve got to start all over again, such a shame as this ones in good condition and dd loved being in it.

YellowFeathers · 24/05/2006 10:14

You lot with your things prepared, your making me want to pull my hair out! Grin
I've got all the equipment packed up at my mums house but we can't get it all out to we move.
Oh yeah, and thats another thing
we need to move first. Great!

Melsy, glad to hear your feeling a bit better.

Booby, I hope your feeling a bit brighter too.

Lunavix, What exactly will you have to do for your nappy job?

I think my nesting instinct will kick in big time when we move. I'm hoping that we can go in to the house the day or 2 days before so that we can clean before the furniture goes in but I think the chances of it happening are slim.

Oh Eeny and Salamander, I can't remember if I mentioned it before but dh has taken a liking to your choosen name! Although we're not allowed to shorten it Wink

YellowFeathers · 24/05/2006 10:50

Lunavix, I've started this \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1375&threadid=176367\thread for you}. Thought you might be interested.

My heads goona explode Sad.

eenywifemum · 24/05/2006 13:19

Melsy, Salamander will look at this thread today sometime and maybe he will have some more information for you about your trust?? He or I will let you know ASAP! And yes Frodo, I think it is all volunteers. But Salamander would know better!

Yellow, I dont blame your DH, we love the name. I shorten it and Salamander doesnt but I find it really hard to NOT shorten it in daily conversation! Must be lazy :)

It is raining for the millionth day in a row - I have to go out to get some more gaviscon (prescription filled) as I am chugging it by the gallon full all night and I really dont want to go out!

SnowBoo · 24/05/2006 13:26

ohhhh and also, am i the only one getting fanatical about cleaning???? Caught myself scrubbing the washing machine powder drawer, my giraffe statue, under the beds (something that only gets done once in a blue moon Blush) and forever washing my hands with Dove soap!

OP posts:
eenywifemum · 24/05/2006 13:30

i havent gone as far as cleaning the powder drawer in the washing machine but the rest of it sounds familier! In fact I have to get off the computer soon to get some cleaning done! I am also getting really Angry about clutter - we will be doing some boot sales very soon. I'm going to have a sign that says 'Baby coming, everything must go' and hope my big bump pulls in the people spending!

Every weekend I have some task for Salamander to do that I cant do anymore and I swear before this baby comes we will be organised!!!

eenywifemum · 24/05/2006 13:37

Baby has been going mental in me all morning, literally throwing his weight around and it is starting to hurt!! This morning I layed in bed and just watched him for ages and it was freaking me out, he was moving so quickly!

Salamander · 24/05/2006 13:37

Oh and love to Eeny if you're out there sweetheart!

BigHotMama · 24/05/2006 13:52

Afternoon waddlers, hope your all ok! Its my turn to have rib ache today, cant seem to sit up and lean forward at work. having to lean right back in my chair and almost have my keyboard on my lap. Eating my meals is a problem too.
My bump is still in the middle at moment, trying my hardest to support it with mega huge pants and trousers with waistbands up to the chest lol, (Simon Cowell eat your heart out!) Grin

Olivo/Eeny I think 3rd trimester starts at 28 weeks? Anyone else know if thats right? My book says 28 weeks I'm sure but brain could be wrong.

I'm eating like a horse at the moment and cant get enough of ice cream, strawbs n double cream, chocolate, milk, goldensyrup sponge pudding & custard, jammie dodger biscuits...(not all at once though ha!) and my baba seems to like it. Shock

I'm aiming to make the most of the bank holiday weekend as not working and hoping to get started on nursery and buy more babystuff as its payday tomorrow yipee! Smile

Micku5, i asked same question further down page about Preparingfor2? Not heard from her in ages, hope she is ok! There are a few other names on the list that havent been on here for ages too?

BigHotMama · 24/05/2006 14:06

Lol Snowboo, I cleaned my powder tray out a few weeks back, never would have considered it before!
Eeny, my favourite pastime is getting my belly out almost lying down on sofa and watching my belly dance and jump, its the best part for me at the moment. Worst is the heartburn, I'm on gaviscon n rennie at moment.

PinkTulips · 24/05/2006 14:36

Snow, mine dropped about 2 weeks ago, was walking into the kitchen, one second i was walking fine, the next i felt that distinctive 'omygod, theres a head in my crotch' sensation. on the plus side it seems to have made my bump stick out alot less but unfortunately i still get the rib pain as baby feels the need to stretch his legs out and hook them into my lower ribs.

by the way it's nice to know i'm not the only one attacking the powder tray, dp caught me at it last weeks and now officially thinks i've lost it! he was working when i was pregnant with dd so i managed to hide alot more of the crazy from him, although he did occasionally wake up for work with all the furniture moved around and me washing skirting boards!

i'm actually jealous of your move Feathers, you can never get a house as clean and tidy as it is right after you first unpack. do you have a date for the move yet?

SnowBoo · 24/05/2006 14:41

Oh i'm relieved. Poor dh thinks i'm nuts, ds has been telling people 'mummy can't come to the phone, she cleaning AGAIN' so i think they will be relieved once its all over....

And yep, bump easier to carry, but still getting feet in my ribs. Bless him.

OP posts:
PinkTulips · 24/05/2006 14:44

when the clutter and mess of new baby sets in he'll be wishing somebody was still cleaning! my flat went from gleaming to bomb site within 24 hours of dd's birth!

SnowBoo · 24/05/2006 14:58

Right, well now i know i'm nuts! Just ben to chemist to buy a bar of soap so i can sniff it at my desk! Shock Problem is its Pears and i really wanted Dove but they don't stock it Angry Will have to wait until i get home....

HEEELLLLPPP!!!!
