eenywifemum... glad im not the only one feeling totally anxious, im going to the midwife tomorrow and im going to mention it, because its driving me insane.. the thought of miscarraige haunted me for the first 16 weeks... now im panicking that there is something wrong ( even though 2 scans and 4d scan later every thing is fine) now my concern is, ( how pathetic ) what if something happens to me, before the baby comes like i get in the car and crash hurt the baby or die myself.. honest last night i was in bed in tears worrying that i have to drive to cardiff at the weekend ( 6 hour drive) n what if someone crashes into me and i dont get to see my baby!! honest its driving me mad the insane thoughts its as though im terrifed im never going to hold my baby!
i feel like a freak typing this but it does feel better getting it out scared friends in RL will think im going off it???
why an i thinking like this? x

aprilgirl1 · 22/05/2006 14:26

someone out there tell me its ok , n i dont need sectioned....... ha ha

YellowFeathers · 22/05/2006 14:34

Awwww aprilgirl Sad

It's all very very normal. Scary for you I'm sure but it's all totally normal.
Try your best to relax. Find something to take your mind off things.
Do you have to take that journey at the weekend?

SnowBoo · 22/05/2006 14:36

Not sure if this has been asked but.... Anyone else in agony with rib pain? I'm in tears with it! Any advice??

And anyone else having really painful strong bh's? Or is it just me?

Would read thru thread but can only sit for a few mins before i have to get on the floor and whinge!

frodofitz · 22/05/2006 14:37

Oh sweetie, i think everyone is at the stage at the moment, don't beat yourself up about it at least your thinking that way as opposed to wishing the crash upon yourself or something, then i would be personally informing the authorities of you Smile
Just curious but why are you driving to Cardiff at weekend..are you with me YF...is it something you could postpone or drive share with?

frodofitz · 22/05/2006 14:40

Hi Snowboo, not rib pain but a very bloody annoying ache just right of my belly button. Been like that for about 2 months, at first it worried me now i think the little monkey has found himself a spot and he just aint moving!

After reading about back pain yesterday though and has come on me today...i hope you lot aren't cursing me Wink

aprilgirl1 · 22/05/2006 14:44

yeah have to make the journey, its my friends wedding, keep thinking of excuses but none seem viable?

YellowFeathers · 22/05/2006 14:45

Could you get a train or travel with someone else?

The thing is that when you get there you'll realy enjoy yourself and it's something to take your mind off things.

Is it a long journey?

aprilgirl1 · 22/05/2006 14:47

well dp was meant o be coming but had to trade him in cos he cant drive so my friend is coming with me so that i can share the driving! just cant think of a way out of it?

frodofitz · 22/05/2006 14:51

What aboout taking some calms or something (check with your quack first) might be enough just to take the edge of it. Other than that you could just tell your friend the truth, that your anxious about driving etc and to be honest it would be a long enough drive without being pregnant on top of it. You might find she completely understands.

YellowFeathers · 22/05/2006 14:53

I know it's awful when your feeling anxious but I really wouldn't stop that from stopping you going. Like I said you'll probably really enjoy yourself when your there.

I'm sure your friend won't think your a nutcase if you explain how you feel. I would ask her to drive it all if she could/would.

I totally understand how your feeling.

aprilgirl1 · 22/05/2006 15:02

oooo thank you all for confirming im not just a general fruit and nut case..... not usually this irrational!!! ha ha.
will see how im feeling by the end of the week and if i still feel anxious i might call her and explain sure she'll understand, BUt if i dont go im going to miss the 'poshest do' this year ha ha, think posh do think posh do think posh do... i can do it!! Grin AND my friend is single and ive promised her LOTS of POSH ELIGIBLE young men ..... mmmmmmm!! ( maybe its good that dp cant drive... just for this weekend anyway!! ( wonder if any of them will fancy a youngish.. blonde... busty..... big fat pregnant chic) he he !!

YellowFeathers · 22/05/2006 15:19

Big pregnant ladies are in Grin

Could be worse

I have put all my maternity wear in the washing machine and the washing machine has now died. So I have soaking dripping wet smelly clothes in the machine and nothing to wear apart from what I have on.

FFS!!!!!!!!!

frodofitz · 22/05/2006 15:35

Oh sweetie, do you want some of mine? I bleedin well refuse to wear 'em, i just keep buying bigger sizes from Primark. Bought a pair of M/Care black work trousers and they look feckin hideous, my arse looked like the size of a double decker...also burst zip on pair of trousers i was wearing this morning so waltzed straight back into Primark and they let me have another pair (obviously i got a bigger size) in exchange, no questions!
Had a few maternity things given but just sat in my wardrobe...

SnowBoo · 22/05/2006 15:35

What can i do for this pain? At work wanting to cry as its really painful. Can handle uncomfortable but this is beyond even my pain threshold! Tried paracetamol but it hasn't touched it at all. And to top it off i have to go and fight my way home on the A40 Angry

YellowFeathers · 22/05/2006 15:40

Have just rung my MIL who's 10 mins away. She's coming up to collect the rest of my washing. As for my sodden smelly clothes

I'll just have to turn into a 40's housewife and handwash the lot!

SnowBoo, what have you taken if anything? When I had dd I was given Ibuprofen for back pain. That was from the hospital too.

YellowFeathers · 22/05/2006 15:41

Sorry meant to add

when you get home get straight in the bath and have a long soak. That should ease it a bit.

SnowBoo · 22/05/2006 15:44

Been told i can't have Ibuprofen so not sure what else to do! Apart from lay down and whinge and whine until ds rubs my back and tummy and gets his baby bro to shift over. Can't wait another 11 weeks!

YellowFeathers · 22/05/2006 15:48

It sounds as though its the way your sitting which I find causes rib pain.

Do you sit in one of those office computer desk type chairs per chance?

SnowBoo · 22/05/2006 16:06

Yep. But it seems bad if i'm at home laying on the sofa, sitting eating dinner or in the car. Only thing that eases it is a nice bath but i guess i can't sit in one of hem for the next couple of months Grin.

Wondering if i stretch will it help? Or is that dangerous in pg??

OP posts:
YellowFeathers · 22/05/2006 16:18

What about booking yourself in for a pg massage?

Or having apoke at your bump and see if baby will move a bit Grin

SnowBoo · 22/05/2006 16:23

Massage sounds nice. And will try a poke about. Got a stretch exercise to try tonight so we'll see. Feels like i'm not growing as quick as baby is. Poor love will be squashed soon.

Wel off to brave A40 now.

YellowFeathers · 22/05/2006 16:28

One to try when you get home

Find something to hold on to at mid height eg fireplace, sink unit etc. Hold on or just place your hands on it, push your feet in as close to the wall as poss, feet almost together and lean back as far as you can go. Do this in sets of 10 as much as possible.

This is the exercise my physio gave me to do and if I'm feeling achey it gives me instant relief.

Enjoy your trip home!

PinkTulips · 22/05/2006 19:43

i ventured into the posh maternity shop in town today to find somehting for dd's christening and found the most beautiful skirt imaginable.... that i can't afford. feel like crying now Sad although the sales girl did cheer me up a wee bit by saying i was quite petite for 7 months, i know she was just charming me to get me to buy but it still made me smile, til i saw the price tag on the skirt!

snow, if your still there to read this i get rib pain too, extremely severe and the only thing to do is to prop yourself in a comfy position on the couch with a mountain of pillows and not move. try and relax and have dh ferry you in tea and biscuits and you'll find it dies down a bit, enought to be bearable anyway. an early night doesn't do any harm either, and personally i find not sitting straight up at all if i can help it keeps it at bay, i'm always leaned back into cushions or half lying, probably not helpful advice for work though, sorry

yellow, the aenemia would explain the fainting the other day too wouldn't it?

YellowFeathers · 22/05/2006 19:53

Yes! Good point Pinky. Never thought of that. Although I know alot of it was to do with actually having my bloods taken.

Just think to yourself that you don't need the skirt. Dh keeps asking why I'm still buying maternity clothes when I've only got 12 weeks left. I bid on a set of 3 Topshop dresses on ebay which I really loved but they went up to £50 so I didn't bother. Don't want to be spending that much.
