Could be...my boobs go hard when they grow. Then go itchy.

Littlemissexpecting · 20/01/2013 22:30

My tummy changes between hard and soft. Tends to be harder at night I just put it down to having more food in my tummy at end of day but probably completely wrong!

grainmum · 20/01/2013 22:33

One to ask the midwife next time I see her then. Thanks for suggestions. Interesting to hear you've had similar experience this weekend pear - reassures me!

peardrop2 · 20/01/2013 22:38

I asked Dr Google tonight and he suggest its a sign of growth and very common with 1st time mums Wink

redwellybluewelly · 20/01/2013 22:55

Mrsbri my (.)(.) get randomly itchy too and I think im on track to beat boob size of last time around. Dd keep trying to cuddle them Hmm

My womb goes rock solid when dh and I dtd, want so bad before but I think were verging on a change of position.

58 hours and I find out the gender...

redwellybluewelly · 20/01/2013 22:55

wasn't so bad before

AmIGoingMad · 21/01/2013 06:57

Welcome pear drop!Smile
Went to see les mis last night so only now catching up! It was amazing- not easy to hold it together in cinema when you're this emotional from hormones but at least everyone was in tears instead of me being the only one sobbing as I was when we went to see Up a few years ago after my grandad had just passed away!

Hope you all have a good Monday! I'm just hoping works carpark will have been gritted by now- wasn't yesterday evening and looked like an ice rink-no good at the best of times!

MrsBri · 21/01/2013 07:16

AmI, my DH keeps telling me my eyes are broken when I get emotional. It seems to come in fits and starts. At the moment I'm definitely weepy!

Especially last night when DH felt bubs kick for the first time :-) Bubs then stayed under his hand for a while, but DH couldn't feel anything else. Bless him, he's so chuffed.

There's been a bit of snow here, so my train to work was late. You'd think there was loads of it the chaos it causes. I think our work car park wasn't gritted last week, so that could be a challenge for people who drive. Stoopid weather.

SunnyL · 21/01/2013 08:07

Hi All,
Got my scan today and didn't think I was particularly worried but had a really broken nights sleep last night. Very clingy to DH which isn't good for him since he's been working back shifts all week. Probably the last thing he wanted at 3am when he got in was a tree creeper tied round his middle.

I'm up in the northern climes of Scotland so snow doesn't really seem to slow us down much - we seem to be well adapted. Highly amusing to watch the southerners on the news struggling with a couple of inches.

RueDeWakening · 21/01/2013 09:31

Morning all!

I have my scan this afternoon, hoping we can find out what we're having. Then another scan on Friday to check the baby's heart. Fingers crossed all will be OK, we've got tons of snow but our road has just been gritted (it's bin day, so they've done it to get the bin lorry up!) which at least means we should be able to get out OK.

Olimoss · 21/01/2013 09:37

Good luck with the scans, everyone, it's aces to have reached that milestone.

I'm having yet another WFH day as just too chicken to make the long walk-bus-overground-overland-walk commute, am petrified of ice. Makes me homesick for the sunshine!

redwellybluewelly · 21/01/2013 09:38

Its not highly amusing, its grim and stressful and incredibly hard work especially when pregnant with a small child who can need paramedics at the drop of a hat.

We have 8-10inches here in Norfolk and the main roads are gritted but I got DD to nursery and me to work before getting stuck turning into my work car park and I cannot get out. We've a big heavy estate and I can't dig it out, there are no grit boxes and I'm about 8 miles from DH who was told by his manager he needs to work from home today.

I should add I grew up in the Pennines so I have seen some serious snow, but this latest lot is exhausting - constant minus temps, no let up, people panic buying so its hard to get food in, thank god I got DH a breadmaker for Christmas!

Littlemissexpecting · 21/01/2013 10:17

Good luck those with scans today.
Bin day here too but they haven't been yet, and usually here by 8 so we'll see if they get emptied!

Littlemissexpecting · 21/01/2013 10:20

Does anyone else smile every time they see the sept antenatal group thread?
It makes me realise how far we have all come and our due dates are getting slowly closer!! Grin

suzyrut · 21/01/2013 10:52

I really need to get my act together and read this over the weekend have so much to catch up on on a Monday!

Welcome peardrop, congrats to those with good scan news and good luck for those with them today, this is a very exciting time for us all.

Spent the weekend doing baby budget spreadsheet...my life is one long party at the moment! Did order pram/buggy though which was exciting, went with a jools one had orginally though about a quinny mood or a bugaboo cameleon. They're not well known but I was really really impressed by everything they'd thought of.

On the maternity trousers I ordered some topshop leigh maternity jeans in black that are actually more like cotton (definitely smarter than normal denim jeans material) and they do them in a 30" leg. They're really comfy and in fact I'm wearing them right now, though you do have to pull them up frequently!

I'm currently having a Text Message argument with my mother as to whether I should go skiing this weekend.

My Dad, a GP reckons it would be fine.
My mother who has never skiied (or been a doctor) reckons I'm naughty.

Isn't it amazing how much people can guilt you at this stage??

Withalittlesparkle · 21/01/2013 12:39

sunny to be fair I'd have to agree with you mum, just in case you have a tumble! But then you know better than anyone else your ski ability!!

forgetmenots · 21/01/2013 12:42

Sunny I think you've just got to do what you think is right. For example, it's completely fine to fly (even cabin crew can work until third trimester), but I found it a bit distressing and uncomfortable. If you're happy doing it trust your body. There's a thread on aibu about people walking on I've when pregnant and whether it's fine or not. Basically it seems it'll be fine for some and not others, there's no hard and fast rule I reckon.

Very excited about scans this week! Mine is on Friday - not finding out gender but excited for another peek. :)

forgetmenots · 21/01/2013 12:42

Walking on ice...

Withalittlesparkle · 21/01/2013 12:51

For the record I've never been skiing and I'm certainly no doctor!!

DontmindifIdo · 21/01/2013 14:35

Sunny, remember your centre of gravity will have changed so you might want to start out on some easy slopes to get your eye in, plus make sure your travel insurance covers you while pregnant. Personally, I wouldn't, but then I'm a crap skier and the idea of more exercise than I physically have to do isn't working for me right now...

Scan was fine, baby kept its legs crossed, so we're currently team yellow! Smile

forgetmenots · 21/01/2013 16:28

So pleased for you Rue! Are you staying team yellow or will you go for another look?

Counting down the hours til mine, not impatient at all. Though baby is back to being a bit more active again in the last day or so, so just hoping everything fine :)

Withalittlesparkle · 21/01/2013 16:44

Congrats rue!!

Am I the only one not feeling movements yet? (18+3, our first) at what point do I start panicking?!

SunnyL · 21/01/2013 16:48

We also had my scan today. Everything was perfectly average and on track. Baby was doing loop de loops and sonographer told us 'good luck with keeping this one under control'. I'm taking that as a good thing.
